Eznik laid back down and closed his blind eyes as he heard someone walking up to the door. Autum looked up to see who was at the door. She looked back down at Eznik. Knowing a lecture was sure to come to the both of them.
Atia walked up next to the bed. "How is he holding up?" she questioned Autum, decided to let their little act run on some. "Same condition." Autum responded as she leaned back. She looked at Atia as she sat down on the bed.
"I know you're awake Eznik… your energy is a lot different when you are out cold or sleeping…" Atia spoke as she looked at Autum. "I also believe you were supposed to tell everyone when he woke up. You should know all of them are worried sick about him."
Autum sighed as she put her feet up on the bed. "It was at his request." She nodded at Eznik who was looking in the direction of the ceiling. Eznik let out a chuckle. "Should have known my mom would be here." He joked as Atia lectured the two.
Atia shook her head. "I'm assuming something is wrong if you didn't want the others to know." She wasn't one for his jokes also she knew that time was running out and they needed a plan. They also still needed to drop off those non-mergers.
"I just can't see your lecture face or my sister rolling her eyes at you, that's all the problem is." Eznik smiled childishly as he joked about being blind. He didn't want this to be a serious moment, but he knew if Atia was here it was going to be. He knew what was coming next; he decided to beat her to the punch. "They are coming with us, unless you talk them out of it. I also didn't talk them into going so you can't blame me. It was their decision."
Atia shook her head as she looked at the door. "This is no place for them, you both know that." She looked at Autum. "Especially you, Autum, you know the dangers of bringing non-mergers to a high security station. They will both be slaughtered."
Autum studied Atia. "We need them. With Navi as a dimensional faerie we can use that to our advantage, since Zigor isn't a reliable teleporter. As for Link he is a fast enough learner and dedicated. He won't hinder us and we can use all the help we can get."
Atia shook her head. "Link is a sword fighter. He doesn't understand the weaponry here. One shot and he would be killed. He doesn't have the natural speed as Sakki and Gotenoo have. He would be killed at least Navi would be able to hide till she was needed."
"I am a sword fighter, and I don't have the speed as those two youngsters. Along with that my old age is catching up to me. Still I managed to keep myself from being killed all of this time. I am an assassin, I'm sure you heard of Black Ash. I haven't got myself killed so I'm sure he can handle himself." Autum argued in Link's defense.
"You're emotionally attached to him, which would be even worse if he got hurt or killed. And it doesn't matter what you lived through I'm talking about him. You have experience on your side but he doesn't. Besides what's probably kept you alive all this time is your stubbornness. I know he has none of that." Atia snapped back at Autum. She didn't want to see Link get killed because these two couldn't tell him to go home.
Eznik let out a sigh. "Ladies... I have a solution so you can stop giving me a headache." He chuckled at the idea of calling his sister a 'lady'. "Autum trains him and before we do a drop off with Lantis, he spars with Gotenoo or Sakki. If he can put up a fight against them, then he can go. If he can't then I'll have him stay with Lantis."
Atia sighed, she knew there was no way Autum could prepare him for that unless he had some kind of hidden talent. "Fine." Atia agreed she felt Eznik grabbed her hand. She looked at him as he laid there.
"What about you? What are you going to do?" Eznik questioned her. He didn't want her hindering this rescue mission either. "You don't fight anymore, so what help are you going to be? The others can fight yet you refuse to."
Atia looked away. "I'll fight… but I will not go to full power." Eznik let go of her hand. "If you can't go to full power Atia then what good are you? You may be forced to keep us alive." Eznik drilled her; he didn't want her coming if she wasn't putting her all into it. He didn't want to risk someone getting hurt or killed because of her refusing to fight.
"I will if I have to Eznik… I'm not going to let them die. I'm not like other astral beings. I care about you and the rest of those kids. I just rather not risk it if I don't have to." Atia spoke sternly though quietly, she would rather not go to her true form if she didn't have to. She glanced at Autum who was looking at her.
Atia stood up. "We need to come up with a plan soon.. I'll doc out the blueprints and get information from Lantis." She headed out of the room. She didn't want to think too much about herself fighting. She rather not risk getting consumed in the lust of killing like how she used to be.
Autum looked at Eznik. "You got that armor built for me from the blueprints I brought you?" It was a new armor that the dimensional government just developed. When she left the government she stole the armor and their only set of blueprints for them.
"You know how expensive they were to make? I only got two, didn't want to raise questions about it." Eznik informed her. "You know it doesn't matter, I'll pay you for it. So where are you hiding the armor?" Autum questioned him.
"In my closet in the very back. Autum, don't push Link too hard. I would like to see him come with us, but I don't want to see him end up getting killed because we acted too rash about him, thinking we could teach and push him beyond his bounds in such a short amount of time. That can do more harm than good." Eznik lectured his sister as he heard her head for the door.
Autum looked back at him. "Oh, I hope you don't mind visitors… I'm going to tell them you are awake." She smirked and walked out. She thought to herself, that's what he gets for lecturing me. He acted like I don't know how to train someone and get them up to speed without overexhausting them and whatever else he was worried about. The last thing she needed was him telling her how to train.
A small yawn came from the bed. Navi sat up, her hair was a mess but back to its natural color. Link and Navi managed to find a shampoo that washed out hair dye. She looked over at Link smiling. Her ears perked as she heard the door open.
Deka smiled at Navi as she walked up. She glanced at Link who was passed out still. It seemed Autum's endless drills took their toll on the teen. She chuckled as her attention went back to Navi. "Yah want to go and check on Eznik with me?"
Navi nodded as she jumped off the bed hovering. She looked at Link, trying to decide if she should wake him or not. She looked at Deka who shook her head. "Let him sleep a bit more I'm sure Autum has more training coming his way." Deka spoke quietly as she headed to the door.
Deka closed the door and looked at Autum who was walking towards them. "So he's awake?" Deka asked as she smiled at Autum as she jogged the rest of the way up to them. Autum nodded confirming her question. "So.. how long have you been married?" She questioned Autum.
Autum glanced away not this again, she thought, knowing any answer she gave the rat would deliver back some rude or crude mockery. She truly didn't want to give her any information, no ammo so to speak. She sighed. "Don't know." she contended as she headed to the door the two had just come out of.
Deka laughed. "Didn't think yah the drinking type! It's called a one night stand, Autum when lots of drinking is involved but it seems your virgin self wanted it to be binding and official, huh?" Deka chuckled. "Did yah get him really drunk so he didn't have clue as to what he was getting himself into? Hah! Yah trap him, darling? That why yah know yah don't want to talk about it?" Deka shouted at Autum as she walked into the room and shut the door behind her. Deka continued to chuckled as she walked down the hall
Navi was shocked that Deka talked to Autum that way. She did not understand what was so amusing about such teasing. Navi stared at her. "That was mean for you to say, I mean bitch or not, you know she can't remember anything about him!" Navi snapped at Deka. She winced as she looked at Deka's expression. It seemed she had no clue. Her ears went down, it seemed Autum kept everything to herself not telling them anything.
"Woah, yah telling me she has no memories of being married? No memories of her husband?" Deka stopped walking. "I guess I could see why she is a bitch, no memories for her species.. it's an insult to misery." Deka spoke as she shook her head and headed back down the hall to see Eznik.
"Are memories really that important for their species?" Navi questioned Deka. She couldn't see how memories were so important when they were too busy trying to live what little lives they had. She looked at Deka.
"Well, yah better ask Eznik that one. All I know he always said hold yah memories close for in the worst of times your happy memories keep you safe. And then he rambled on about why it's important to his species… but yah know I stopped listening after that point." She chuckled some as she opened the door walking in.
Autum glanced at the sleeping teen as she headed to her objective. She made her way into her brother's closet. Examining everything she stopped as she found a metal crate. She opened up the crate and pulled out chest and leg armor. She headed out of the closet. "Get your ass up Link. You just going to sleep all day." she snapped as she tossed the armor at him.
Link opened his eyes. He let out a small yelp as the armor hit him. He looked at the armor and then to Autum, shocked. He really wasn't expecting her to be his wake up call. His eyes trailed to the armor that she had threw at him. It looked to be the same type of armor that Autum had been wearing. He looked to her but she had vanished back into the walk-in closet.
Link got off the bed looking for Navi. His ears drooped he guessed that Autum might of told her to leave. He glanced around for his tunic and grabbed it. "Trust me you don't want to be wearing that under that armor." Autum spoke as she walked out with another set of armor.
Link looked at her and then to the armor she was holding. He bit his lip not really wanting to wear armor. His eyes followed Autum as she dropped the other set to the bed. She tossed him the chest armor. "Put that on." She instructed.
Link caught the armor sighing. He knew it wouldn't be as heavy as the armor he was used to, but still it was going to be armor. He moved the armor over his head and tugged on it. He looked at Autum who was in front of him. He flinched as she tugged on his armor. He glanced at her as she walked up to his back.
Autum examined the armor. It seemed Eznik's friend built it exactly the same. What was better it looked like it was handcrafted so it should be much better quality as well. She tugged on a piece tightening the armor. She glanced at Link who looked away from her. "Tell me if it's too tight."
Link nodded a little. He looked down at the black chest plate. He ran his hand over it; it was weird feeling material. It felt like it couldn't protect you. He looked up at Autum as she walked up in front of him.
Examining the teen Autum chuckled as she walked up to the bed. She grabbed the leg armor and tossed it to him. "Should go over your pants, if not I'll find something that should work." She said as she sat down on the bed watching him.
Link glanced at her as he put on the leggings. He straightened them some and looked at Autum who got to her feet. She walked up to him and she bent down messing with his pants. "Are they sitting ok?" she asked him as she tugged on a tab.
Link nodded a little as she stood up. Autum studied him knowing that this armor should keep him safe for the most part. Only thing he would have to worry about was the melee and some magical attacks. "It looks like it fits fine. You are going to train in that till you move as if it's not there. So we better get moving." Autum nodded for him to follow.
Link rubbed the back of his head, already back to training. He let out a small sigh as he followed her. He glanced at his armor."Link, Atia wants you off of this ship. If I can't train you to hold your own against Gotenoo or Sakki then I agreed you aren't coming." Autum spoke quietly as she lead him back to the training room.
Link looked at her shocked. "What about Navi?" He questioned Autum wanting to know what was going on. If she was still going even if he couldn't hold his own, he didn't know what he would do. He stopped as she turned looking at him.
"She goes with or without you, Link. She can help us with her teleporting. Atia believes you are nothing more than dead weight, a liability. You have to prove you aren't. That you can hold your own and that you aren't going to get slaughtered out there. So I'm going to push you as far as I can. Hopefully some of that natural talent you have will push you the rest of the way." Autum explained as she then looked away. She was going to push him as far as she could even if at the end he couldn't stand. At least that way she knew she put her all into getting him ready.
Link's ears drooped. He glanced away thinking. He looked back at her with a spark of hope. "I'm sure with your training I'll be more than ready. Watch. I'll prove that I can hold my own here even if I'm a non-merger. I'm not someone who gives up so let's get training." He smiled at her trying to keep his own hopes up.
Autum chuckled and shook her head some. She turned and continued walking. "Oh, Eznik is awake. He's blind but that should wear off after a few hours. I don't need you worrying about him when you're training. I'm sure once he can see he'll make his way to the training room to check on you." She glanced back at him as he nodded.
Deka walked up and sat on the bed next to Eznik. "How yah feeling?" Deka questioned him. She studied him. He had his arm over his eyes. Her guess he probably had a headache. Chuckling Eznik smiled. "I'm doing the best I can Deka." He felt Navi land on his chest. "My guess Autum stole Link a way to train him?" he questioned her.
Navi glanced at Deka as she answered him. "He was asleep.. but she did go into the bedroom." Her ears drooped. She really wanted Link to get all the rest he could. She let out a sigh knowing that Link was going to be shoved into more of those endless 'drills' of Autum's.
Navi looked at the door as Gotenoo came running into the room. "Daddy!" she grabbed his hand tight. "You had me worried.." she cried. "I'm fine Gotenoo, I just need some rest, that's all." he said trying to comfort the looked at Deka who patted her on the head.
"You know the old man, he needs his naps and he makes a big deal when he doesn't get them." Zigor chuckled as he walked into the room. Rin let go of his arm and ran up and sat in a chair next to Eznik. Zigor walked up and glanced at Deka glaring at her as if to say don't say anything. Rin had drawn on his face while he had passed out, he still had a couple of the drawings on his face.
Eznik chuckled, feeling the group around him. He wished he could see everyone. "I'm not that old." he joked as he moved his arms and slowly sat up. He sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck. "As much as I would like to see all of your joyous faces, for the time being I can't see. It's only temporary." He pointed at where Zigor's voice came from. "Don't you dare think you and Deka can get away with your pranks just because I can't see you." He felt Navi land on his shoulder. He patted her gently.
Deka and Zigor both smirked at each other. Oh how many pranks they could play on him. What would make it better he wouldn't know who did it. So it would make the game even better. Deka winced as Gotenoo tugged on her tail. "I see you two plotting… don't you dare." she warned as she glared at Deka. She looked back at her father and waved her hand in front of him to see if it really was true.
Eznik chuckled some. "I'm assuming Sakki, Atia and Gajra aren't in here?" "That's right. Probably thought they'd let you rest more." Deka spoke up. She got off the bed and pointed at Zigor. "Yah got to speak with Gajra. I'm sure he's in his room waiting. Come on Rin, Navi, let's give Eznik some time alone with Gotenoo." Deka glanced where Zigor was once standing, she wondered what Gajra wanted him, she didn't remember any recent pranks they pulled on Gajra.
Deka headed out of the room as Navi flew up and plopped on Deka's head. She looked back at Eznik. She felt bad for him. When they needed him, he couldn't see. She looked at Rin who walked on ahead.
"Daddy!" Rin smiled at Zigor as he reappeared next to her. She latched onto his arm and held him close. Zigor looked at her and sighed. His attention went to Deka. "You can keep Rin here entertained. You two can give each other makeovers. I know you need one." He chuckled as he nodded his head at Navi.
Deka laughed. "I'll teach her all the tricks of the trade. So she can make yah all pretty witty, Ziggy." She grinned at Zigor. She then glanced at Rin. "Come on pigtails. Let's leave Navi and 'daddy' here." She plucked Navi off of her head. "If he be's mean to yah, just flirt with the poor sucker that will put him in his place." Deka smirked as she glanced at Zigor. "Come on, lets go harass Sakki!" Deka chimed.
Navi jumped off of Deka's hand and fluttered in the air. She looked at Deka confused as she walked away with Run. Her attention went to Zigor. She flew up to him. She was right in his face. He was blushing as he looked away. She scratched her head trying to figure out what was wrong. He didn't act that way the first time she met him. "What's wrong droopy ears?" she questioned him.
Zigor avoided looking at her. "What happened to your clothes?" he alerted her. He was never good with girls, especially good looking ones. What was worse she didn't have any clothes on! No doubt Deka had something to do with this unladylike unspeakable joke, is what he figured. The little faery being so naive fell into Deka's outrageousness.
Navi stared at him in question. She didn't understand what that had to do with anything. "I normally don't wear clothes, that dress was a disguise that Brat had helped me with when we went to the spacestation to help fool the DP." she answered as she tried to figure out what was wrong with Zigor. But by the way he was acting, she figured he had a problem with people without clothes.
Zigor glanced at her still a bit red as he quickly looked away again. His ears were still low expressing his discomfiture. He wasn't sure what to do or what to say as she claims this is normal for her, like Link's mandress. He shook his head trying to forget the fact that she didn't have any clothing on. "I-I guess we should g-get to business." he spoke nervously, part of him wishing Deka was still there so he would not feel so skittish. But in truth, he knew she would just be making jokes making him feel even more jittery. He took a deep breath trying to calm himself. He looked on down the hall trying to think of how to start. "Gajra wanted me-e to h-help y-yo-ou with tel- uh, teleporting." Zigor stammered trying to keep his nerves intact.
Navi looked at him; someone who seemed to enjoy making jokes and embarrassing others was totally shy without his partner in crime it seemed. She thought about cracking a joke at him to see how he would take it, but that just wasn't her, besides she wanted to get down to business. She needed to learn this teleporting stuff.. "So what's the first thing we do?" she questioned him.
Zigor looked at her still red. "Well, first you sit on my shoulder and I'm going to teleport so you can get a feel of it." He glanced at her as she sat on his shoulder. He quivered as he was kind of freaking to the idea of a tiny naked girl sitting on his shoulder. He shook his head clearing his thoughts. He looked down the hall and pointed at a door. "I-I'm going to teleport there. So fo-fo-focus on that spot as well."
The two appeared next to the door and Zigor glanced at her as she stood up. His face flared red again. Navi didn't even notice as she looked to where they were once standing. She reran the feeling through her body when he had teleported. She jumped off vanishing. She laughed as she appeared where they were standing before. "I got it!" She cheered. She appeared next to him with a big grin on her face.
Zigor smiled, though a bit jealous. Still he knew she was a dimensional faerie so she should be better at this, right? he told himself. He tried to erase from his mind that she was still naked. He watched her teleport to spot to spot down the hall. He looked away remembering how he used to be able to do that with his brother as they attempted to catch and tackle each other. He looked at Navi who appeared in his face.
"What's next?" the excited faerie blurted out. She was finally feeling useful and things were looking up for her. The flowing of energy rushing through her body was like an adrenaline rush, though she had to admit it had a familiar feeling.
Zigor's eyes moved away from her. "I-I-I be-lieve it's teleporting into..into a room next to a..a person you don't know where they are." he stuttered as he walked down the hall. He waved at her to follow. He decided that he didn't want to disturb Eznik, Sakki was out of the question, and as for Gajra he rather not deal with such, so that left Autum who probably was with Link. He actually thought that was a safe bet. Maybe, if Link was around he wouldn't feel so squirrelly around this naked faery.
Zigor stopped at the door. "You stay.. out here give me a minute. Then your goal is to teleport next to me." He looked at her as she nodded. This would teach her to track energies so to teleport into a room. Also to teleport next to a target she can't see.
Link dodged the oncoming attack. He swung the blade, it was a black blade used for training, he was managing to hold his own against Autum. He jumped back as Autum dodged his assault. He looked to the door as Zigor walked in, just to get the hilt of the sword in his face.
"Don't ever let your guard down!" Autum barked as she swung the other blade she was holding into his side. "Never!" She finished him off with a kick to his chest knocking him down on his ass. Autum towered over the fallen teen. "It could cost you the fight or cost you your life!" She backed up and glanced at Zigor. "Why are you here, drunk?" she questioned him as she watched Link get to his feet.
Zigor glanced at Link happy it wasn't him being pushed through that training. He shook his head and walked over to a wall and stopped. He watched Link get back into a fighter's stance. He studied the armor that the teen was wearing, it didn't look familiar. Looking to Autum who had the same style of armor on, it seemed it was hers.
Autum twirled her blades. She normally used her large broadsword, but she was skilled with dual wielding as well. She didn't want to risk hurting him too badly; it seemed she had a soft spot for him though she kept denying it. She normally would be trying to kill him full on, but couldn't get herself to, with her almost losing the kid before she didn't want to risk it.
Zigor fidgetted some as the small blue faerie appeared in front of him. He was shocked; he wasn't expecting her to get it so quickly. Though he knew that Gajra said she just needed a refresher course. He smiled timidly at her as she looked at him with a big smile proud of her success.
Navi looked over at Link. "Link!" She spouted as she flew towards him and appeared in front of him. She smiled at him, she felt like she could finally help. "I can teleport!" she said in her excitement ."Zigor's been helping me!"
Link smiled at her, he didn't want to worry her by telling her that he might not be able to go on the mission. He quickly glanced over at Autum hoping she wasn't going to attack him unexpectedly. His eyes trailed back to Navi. "That's great Navi." He smiled at her. "I knew you could do it."
Autum walked up to Link. "If you don't' mind, Navi we need to get back to training." Autum glanced over at Zigor. "I'm sure that drunk has more to teach you. You know time isn't on our side, and I need to catch blondie up to speed."
Navi nodded. She looked at Link. "Be careful.." She smiled and vanished. She appeared next to Zigor but turned her attention back to Link once more. She was drawn to the fight. She watched the two dart at each as their weapons collided. Zigor found this little excursion did help his edginess some watching Link and Autum respond to the faerie as if all was norm.
Zigor was watching the two spar. "What's next?" The faerie asked excitedly to learn more. He thought a minute and then he said "You follow where I teleport. I'm going to teleport somewhere on the ship and you teleport there as well. And we'll do a couple of teleports to make sure you got the hang of it." He explained and then he vanished, Navi followed suit after him.
Hours passed as they each prepared for the mission ahead, Navi mastered teleporting around the ship. As for Zigor, he pushed himself past his limits of teleporting trying to keep up with the small faerie. He ended up passing out in the middle of a hallway. Navi teleported Zigor onto a bed so he could rest on a bed rather than the cold floor.
As for Link, his endless sparring continued with Autum. Link bashed his shield into Autum for only a split second she was off guard and he seized the moment. He swung his blade hard into her side.
Autum gritted her teeth from the pain, it hurt much more than she would admit to. Not wearing any armor left her body to the mercy of the blade. Autum swung one of her blades at Link in retaliation for his attack. Her sword clashed into his sword, it seemed he was truly able to hold his own against the assassin.
Autum jumped back and darted at him. She jumped over him and swung her blades swift and fast at him. He blocked each attack and tried to get his own attack in. His blue eyes watched her every movement picking her apart trying to break through her offence. His eyes widened as he saw an opening and he took it. Darting at her he swung his blade halfway and finished it by kicking her leg hoping to make her lose her balance.
Groaning from the attack she managed to block Link's flurry of attacks. She grabbed his blade with her metal hand and she kicked him in the face. He stumbled back and she finished him off by tripping him. It seemed with the advantage she had on the boy now that she could use more than a sword. She let out an exhausted sigh and plopped on the ground next to him panting. "Seems you're going to be able to beat me soon." She chuckled as she laid back looking over at him.
Letting out a soft laugh Link looked up at the ceiling. He was pushing himself as much as he could and it seemed it was paying off. He was learning there was more to fighting here than hand and sword. Any opportunity and any other means of winning you should take it. He closed his eyes enjoying the small break he was getting.
Autum slowly got up to her feet. She walked over to a small bag and pulled out a bottle of water. "Link, heads up!" she alerted as she tossed him the bottle. She bent down and pulled out another bottle opening it. Taking a large swig of it her eyes trailed to the teen who was sitting up drinking it.
The teen smiled at her, but his attention then went to the door as Atia walked in. His guess she probably came here to tell Autum this training was pointless. His ears perked as she walked up to him. His blue eyes looked up at her. Atia glanced at Autum. "I'm going to have a talk with Link, privately. So if you would leave us." Atia sat down in front of Link.
"Don't expect him to leave, Atia. There's nothing you can tell him that is going to make him want to stop training." Autum informed her as she headed to the door. Autum walked out slamming the door behind her. She looked at her side where she had been hit. There was a large bruise there, she chortled. He had got a good one in on her. She headed to the medical wing to get herself fixed up. It seemed it was close to time to using real weapons.
Atia studied the non-merger. "Have you ever meditated before?" She questioned him, breaking the silence. She was going to do her own test on him. It was something she rarely did but she knew that Autum was going to push him. So either he did have some kind of skill or Autum just wanted him to. She needed to know who this kid was. She needed to know if he was a fighter and what experience he had. If he had nothing, then all this training was fruitless. She knew slaughters of non-merges versus tech. She had been on planets before where it had happened. She wouldn't let this boy just be taken in for the slaughter. What's more, their lead on this mission would be more than hindered by his death, leaving them all with no leader for the grief would overtake her, she believed.
Link shook his head. He had heard of meditation but never tried it. He watched her as she moved next to him. "Lay back, I'm going to be putting you into a meditative state. It's harmless and painless as well." Atia instructed him. Once the teen laid back she put her hand on his head. She closed her eyes and spoke an incantation in another language.
Link could feel his mind become calm. Everything seemed to leave, he had no worries or doubts. There was no heaviness in him. He never had felt his type of serenity before. He let his mind just float in this peacefulness. Part of him wished he could stay in this state of mind always.
Atia spoke a few more words. She opened her eyes looking around. She could see who he was… from his memories.. But she could also see who he once was in his past lives. Possibly she could give him skills from those lives. Maybe even one being a merged life.
Atia stood watching him and Navi going on their adventures. He fighting for the meek, weak and oppressed. He came out ahead.. She watched the fight that brought him to their dimension in the first place. He was a fighter, but still… something held him back, what was it? The shows of his past… what were they? Walking towards the shows, it wasn't what she expected. Most it would be something they did, but this boy.. it was the lives that once were him, other lives he once lived.
She looked around as several of his past lives seemed to come to life around her. Her eyes trailed to each one, the endless battle this teen seemed to be in, the fight between good and evil for the sake of his homeland, Hyrule. He was a chosen soul, one chosen by his goddesses to be there to fight, lifetime upon lifetime. One who would always come to fight the evil that plagued their land.
The clashing of swords seemed to echo around her. She looked at a man who seemed to tower over all of these past lives. He had a dark complexion and red hair. She studied the man and then looked back at one of the fights the teen had against this man. This boy was a fighter even when everything was against him he could pull through. With the graces of the goddesses who seemed to have their watchful eye on him.
All of this brought another concern to her, what could happen should this boy no longer be the protector of his lands? The goddesses clearly used this soul, yet here it was dimensions away from its home. To be tied down by rules of beings who do nothing more than watch was unfair, she assessed but that choice and concern should not be hers. It would be the boys as he would know this all as well from his many lives.
Atia took her hand off of the teen and sat back. Studying the teen as he sat up, he looked at peace. Atia glanced away from him, trying to decide on how to go about this. Did she want to go down this rabbit hole with this boy? Should she help him conquer his shadows? Finally she spoke up to the need looking back at him. "You remember all of those past lives, don't you, Link?" She questioned him. She could tell he remembered them because of how vivid they were. It was just like how she could remember all of hers.
Link looked at her a bit shocked. He didn't think Eznik had told anyone. His ears drooped. He really didn't want anyone to know about it, he knew even at home it was off, something that others didn't have. "Yeah" he spoke up. "Eznik tell you?" he asked.
Atia shook her head looking at him. "Reincarnation for mortals comes at death. As for astral beings, like myself, we choose when and what we want to incarnate into. So we can also look back into other people's past lives. Yours are rather vivid, more like how an astral being would be, so my guess was you remember them."
Link nodded as he ran what she said through his mind. So, she could just up and reincarnate herself anytime she wanted to, by the sound of it she would remember everything that happened in every life. "Why did you want to see what happened in my past lives?" he asked her not sure why she would want to see such.
"Because those skills you had in those lives, I can have them carried into this life. The ways you learned to hold your sword in distinct techniques, the many different strategies of fighting and alongside that you will have much more than emotions and memories of those lives, you will harbor the strength, confidence and wisdom of those journey's along with many other gifts.. But you will have to rest, even as much as you want to test your old abilities it's very important that you let your mind and body rest." Atia explained to him. She wanted to give him a fair shot. She also wasn't pushing too much since he already remembered those lives. "I know these lives haunt you, this would also be a way to confront and move past them. Accept those lives as yours but know those only compliment but do not shape who you are in this one."
Shocked by what she said Link looked down. This was the last thing he was expecting for her to say or do. He would be able to fight with the experience of all of those battles. Autum did have the experience of more combat than him, that's why she always seemed to choose the right split second choice that wins her the battle. As for him in this life, his fighting experience was far less than any of his other lives, he was still in a time of peace for Hyrule. He only learned the sword as he was part of a small group of fighters who learned the sword.
His ears low, he wasn't sure what to say. Part of him didn't want to be those lives; he wanted to be his own person. Though having that experience and those abilities would give him more of an edge on fighting. He didn't know what to choose.
Atia slowly stood up. "If you are worried about losing yourself in those lives, you shouldn't be. You have kept yourself all this time while knowing those lives. That will not change. All you will have is experience you may use. What will make you different is how you use and live with this gain. This is what I do everytime I incarnatie. I might be able to remember those lives, but they are not who I am now. They might shape some of my choices, but I do not let them control me. I use the wisdom of the past to guide me through this life but never let it decide for me."
Link nodded, "What do we do?" He asked her wanting to be able to use those abilities. She was right it didn't matter what he learned from it, he was different from all of those lives. He was in another dimension helping his friends.
"Lay back again." she spoke softly as she knelt next to him. She placed her hand on his chest as he laid back. She chanted a few words and markings covered the floor. Atia's eyes shot open as a dark purple aura shot up around her.
Link felt a rush of energy go through his body while it filled it at the same time. He let out a scream from the pain as her hand had sunk into him grabbing at his very soul. He couldn't describe the pain that ran through him. He couldn't fathom such agony. But then all the pain suddenly stopped. His eyes shot open as he looked around confused. He sat up slowly as he had an extremely weird sensation run through him as if his body was occupied by many. He heaved heavily in his confused state.
Atia slowly got up. She looked a bit taller and her eyes were now purple. Her face looked much more mature. She held out her hand to the teen. She pulled him up to his feet. She studied him and nodded a little in approval that everything went fine.
Link studied her features, he wanted to ask her about the changes in her appearance. He jerked a little as it felt like his body wanted to collapse. His legs just then gave out from under him but Atia caught him. Link looked at her lost in all that he felt. He didn't understand what was happening. "W-what's wrong?" he questioned her as everything started to go black. He could feel Atia put her hand on his head.
"Your body needs just as much rest as your mind. Give in, fall asleep, I'll tell Autum what happened." Atia spoke quietly as she whispered something else softly into his ear. She rather have him rest through this than be worried about not being able to move or see. She felt the teen go into a peaceful sleep.
"What did you do?" Autum snapped at her as she ran up to the two of them. She had heard his scream and came running to see what the hell this astral being was doing to him. She glared at Atia knowing she used some kind of energy on the teen. She snatched Link away from her like a mother bear protecting its baby. She felt his pulse making sure that this astral being didn't kill him.
"I gave him access to some of his skills from his past lives. I thought that might give him more of a chance to survive in the merged dimension. Also it will help him from hiding from his shadows, unlike some of us." Atai eyed Autum and shook her head. She knew what type of person Autum was. She was a killer if she was really Black Ash; a shadow that she hid from that would be something she would have to deal with in the next life.
Atia walked towards the door. "When he wakes up, you shouldn't push him for a few hours. He still will need to rest his body. That is neither a suggestion or request. I know you want to see what he's gained but he needs his rest." Atai lectured as she looked back at Autum. "Once you get him in a bed, I believe you should go to the conference room. I'm going to get Eznik, because time is running short and we have no plan. I'm sure you want to be part of planning."
Autum watched her leave. She maneuvered Link in her arms and headed out of the room. She walked into Eznik's room. She laid the teen down on the bed. She took off his armor so he could rest more comfortably. She covered him with blankets. She stood studying him; she didn't expect Atia to do something like that. It was a surprise, quite unexpected. She wondered why she chose to. She decided it didn't matter why. She shook it off and headed out of the room.
