Eznik leaned back in the chair he was sitting in as he set his feet up on the table. He finally got his vision back, so now crucial decisions and critical plans needed to be made. He had told Atia and Autum that it was time to plan their rescue mission so to meet in the conference room.
He looked at Atia as she walked into the room. She tossed a couple of files to him. He grabbed the files. He glanced through them; he pulled out a small data file putting it in the computer on the table. He glanced to the screen on the wall where the blueprints of the station appeared. "So Lantis has an inside person?" he presumed.
Atia nodded as she sat down. She was back to her 'normal' state of being. "Asha, a member of his crew has been undercover in the dimensional police for a few months. It seems she managed to move through the ranks rather fast. She's not on that station, but one of her friends there wanted to know where Brat was, cause of a grudge.. so.." Atia stopped as she glanced at Autum who tossed some files in front of her.
"Contact your friend Lantis, tell him that we won't be needing his ship after all. It will keep him and his crew safe. No way for the government to connect them to us. I have a friend on a ex-Nehsal planet that will help us. You know that they won't even raise an eyebrow in the government suspicions; far removed from their watch list. It's a safer stratagem." she said as she sat down in a chair.
"I didn't think you had friends, Autum." Eznik snickered as he smiled at his older sister. Autum rolled her eyes at him. "He owes me a favor, so I'm sure he will comply to my request." she spat.. "And if not, I'll kick his ass and then he'll comply." She then looked to Atia." I would go contact Lantis now. So he can get busy doing what he wants rather than waiting for us to show because I already changed our course."
Atia stood as she took the files from the table. She assumed this was Autum's way of kicking her out of the meeting, not wanting her opinion in the planning process. It seemed they were going to set up everything without her. Still she didn't mind too much since technology, fighting and strategy really wasn't her thing. So she truly had no problem with such as she knew they knew what they were doing and could handle what was needing done.
"Atia, also ask if Lantis's inside person can find out the number of guards that are on that station and anything else of significance about security, like any new tech, or any changes to surveillance and the like. That information will be quite useful to us." Autum requested.. Atia nodded and headed out of the room..
Autum looked at the blueprints up on the computer. There were some highlighted areas. She walked up to the computer screen and pointed at a red area. "That's where Brat would be… as for Celtic." She pointed out several of the blue colored rooms. "It looks like they keep moving him for some reason." She spoke quietly.
Eznik closed his eyes. "We are going to have to split up into two groups. I'll lead one and you will lead the other." he stipulated. He was already sorting out things in his head. "That way we can cover more ground but we don't want to spread ourselves too thin."
Autum studied her brother. "I'm assuming your group goes for your daughter as for mine, Celtic?" she questioned him. Once he nodded she tossed out her next comment. "We each need a teleporter, I will have Navi and you, Zigor."
"No, Navi and Link both will be coming with me." Eznik informed her. "If some of the others come with me and see Brat in whatever condition she is in, that would be detrimental. If she's been beaten badly that could cause them to lose their composer needing revenge. Or worse.. she may be transformed and not have control. You know, they will not fight their best against her for fear of hurting her or some other irrational reason. I will take Link, Navi, Rin, Gajra as well as Atia." Eznik argued knowing his sister wouldn't like the idea too much.
Autum looked away; as much as she didn't want the two non-merges away from her sight and protection, it was the better idea. And on top of that, it would spare her from emotional ties as well as keeping most of the younger crew from seeing Brat in whatever condition she's in. Each group would have a teleporter, a sword fighter, but healers were not distributed. "What about Gajra coming with me, he does have some healing magic." she bid.
Eznik shook his head. "I'll give you all the medical supplies you need, I'm sure he will give you all the herbal medicine he has as well." he advised her. He knew that he had more of the defensive fighters, but he feared that they would be using Brat against them. Hopefully having Atia as well as Gajra would keep her from getting killed.
Autum glanced at the blueprints. "So, I'll have the drunk, the rat, and the two redheads." she stated as she looked at him, realizing he had mostly defensive fighters. "You're leaving me with offensive forces. You're afraid that they are just going to let Brat turn into that beast and kill everyone, aren't you?" Autum looked at her brother as she sat down.
Eznik looked her. As much as he didn't want that to be the reason, it was the truth. He nodded. "So that's why you're taking Navi, incase if you have to make her go for a double teleport, you know Zigor couldn't teleport far enough if he had to. And if you can't get Brat back to normal you're just going to take her somewhere else so she can't hurt anyone." Autum spoke up picking apart his reasoning for his planning. She watched him stare at the table ashamed of what he might have to do.
"Do you want me to go with the group to get Brat? It would be safer for you to get Celtic. At least you wouldn't have to see what they did to her. I should also be able to hold my own against her." Autum suggested hoping to relieve some of her brother's stress.
Eznik shook his head. "I'll be fine getting her. I think it will do her good to see my face. Hopefully, it will work in our favor." he aspired as he looked at Autum rather serious. He knew that he had to be prepared for anything. The horrors of what they could have done to his daughter, he tried to keep them in the back of his mind.
The door opened as the redhead walked in. Gotenoo was holding a box and she set it down next to Autum. Echa was sitting on her head looking down at the box. "This was something sis was working on, before she left. I don't know if she finished it though. She said it was something that could be used to hit the dimensional police hard."
Autum looked into a box. "EMP modified to take out backup generators." She pulled out the small device. Setting the device on the table and then pulled out some papers. She flipped through the papers examining them. "Looks like it is set up to whip outgoing files as well as current files from any device in the area where this is set off." Autum smirked knowing that Brat was a bit of a genius when it came electronics. "If we wanted to we could send a virus to the main files stream and hit them hard." Autum offered as she looked to her brother, this way she could get the government back for all the shit they had done to her and her family.
Eznik chuckled as he looked at Gotenoo who was digging pieces out of the box. "The main question is how close it was to being finished. She had a bad habit of getting something halfway done and moving onto something else." he stated as he stood up walking over to Gotenoo. He put his hand on her shoulder as he grabbed some of the papers. He knew how Brat was when it came to finishing things even when it was down to the last piece; she just couldn't apply the finishing touch, leaving it unfinished.
Autum glanced at the blueprints. Her eyes trailed to the device. "Programming, and a couple of rather rare and expensive pieces, though no problem my friend can get them. Also I'm sure he would be very helpful in making the virus for this thing as well." Autum noted as she looked at her brother.
Eznik glanced at her. "Seems to be a rather 'close' friend, so what kind of blackmail are you hanging over his head that he would be so generous?" he chuckled. He enjoyed picking on her even when times were stressful and hard.
"I spared his life when I was in the Elites. Also, he was a good friend when I was in the dimensional police." Autum voiced as she examined the small device. Not wanting to go into much more detail about how she met him.
"Someone from the dimensional police, are you sure he can be trusted?" Eznik quizzed as he looked at her. He didn't want to risk something like that. They all could be screwed before they even put a foot on the station.
Autum nodded as she leaned back. "Problem with this design is that it has to be sitting on the main control computer." she presented to her brother as she changed the topic. She didn't want to argue why this man could be trusted. Her eyes trailed to the rat on Gotenoo's head. "So it's a lost cause unless Deka's little baby can get this there and activate it."
Echa looked at Autum as he tilted his head as if he was picking apart what Autum was saying or else trying to comprehend it. Echa glanced up at Eznik as he reached over and patted him. "I'm sure he can." Eznik examined the large mics in his ears and the device on his tail and tips of his ears. "I can get those pieces replaced so don't worry Echa." He smiled at the rat.
Gotenoo looked up at her dad as he talked to Echa. "He wouldn't be able to hear would he, if he lost those thingies in his ears?" she asked him. Eznik nodded as he looked at Autum who was flipping through the papers of the device.
"The ship that we take there is going to get hit by this as well. Because we have to be close enough for the drunk to teleport without exhausting himself before we even can step foot onto the station. So then we'd be depending on Navi to get us out of there." she reported as her eyes trailed her to her younger brother.
"I can keep Navi safe, so don't worry." Eznik expounded knowing what she was thinking. He looked at Gotenoo. "Thank you for bringing this sweetie. It will be a lot of help. Why don't you go run off and play with the others now? Autum and I still have some work we need to get done."
Gotenoo nodded and smiled. She grabbed a piece out of the box and ran out of the room. Eznik chuckled as he watched her run out of the room. "You better keep her safe along with the rest of the crew." he stated as he looked at Autum.
Nodding, she thought about giving him the same speech about Link and Navi, but she was sure he already knew. Autum got up walking over to the blueprints of the station. They still had planning they needed to do. Along with it, she was going to have to work with her group to make sure they wouldn't' do something stupid to get themselves killed. Which meant less time for training Link, unfortunately.
Everything seemed to hit the teen as he stared at the ceiling. He ran everything through his head, these memories he had all his life were always there. There was also the sensation of all of these memories and feelings being new as well. Link slowly sat up running his hand through his hair trying to calm his mind.
Noticing the armor he was wearing had been removed he looked around the room looking for it. He let out a small sigh of relief as it was sitting on the computer desk next to Autum's set of armor. His eyes trailed to Navi who was sleeping next to him. He studied her. She looked peaceful sleeping.
Parts of him wanted to tell her that he might not be going on this rescue mission, as his other half didn't want her worrying. Trying to decide what side of the fence would be better, her finding out now or later, he decided to wake her up and tell her. He gently nudged her trying to wake her.
"Link!" Navi smiled as she appeared in front of him. She seemed to adapt very well to teleporting easily. She smiled at him, but her smile faded as she saw him so serious. "What's wrong?" She questioned him worried that something happened to Eznik.
The teen looked at her with his blue innocent eyes. He couldn't hold it in any longer. "I might not be able to go on the mission to get Brat and Celtic." Before he could further explain Navi was on the ball shooting her questions at him.
"Why!? Did something happen? Are you hurt? What did Autum do to make you say something like that? Did you change your mind and you don't want to stay here any longer? What's the problem?" She drilled her flurry of questions at her friend. A rush of emotions flew through the small faerie afraid that he might be doubting his own choice or Autum might have done something to cause this.
Link chuckled lightly; Navi was definitely back to her old self. It was good to see a little piece of home from her. Waiting for her to calm down he finally decided to explain. He decided not to put Atia on the spot. He knew probably deep inside they all didn't want to bring him if he couldn't hold his own. "If I can't hold my own in a spar against Gotenoo or Sakki, I won't be going. If I can't fight against them then how could I hold my own on the station. I need to be able to fight and not hinder the group. Navi, I don't want you to worry about me if I don't get to go. I'll be staying with some of their friends. I don't need you worrying, because they are really going to need your help to pull this off."
Navi stared at him as her ears drooped. She looked away from him as she let it all soak in. She let out a small whimper; she didn't want to leave him behind. She looked up at him. "You can hold your own, can't you? You will beat them, they're just kids." Navi tendered trying to convince herself that he would do fine. Though in her heart she wasn't sure, she saw what damage can be done and how these people could fight from these other dimensions. Along with that who knows what those kids could even do. They must be something or they wouldn't put Link against them for he is a great fighter.
Link went to speak but his eyes shot to the door. "I hope I wasn't interrupting a little make-out session." Deka grinned at the two. She laughed as the two immediately went red. She walked into the room with her tailed swaying behind her. "Well, since I already ruined the little moment, yah want to come play a game with yah know, us, Link?"
Link stared at her, this woman had no boundaries. Letting out a small sigh as he thought about what she said. "What game?" He asked, he wasn't sure if Deka was involved that he would even want to play. Knowing her, it was how much they could embarrass him or how red they could get his face to be.
Deka smirked seeing him trying to figure out what she was talking about. "It's Rebso-Ball, it's something like basketball almost." She grimaced at his expression of confusion. "um.. corn hole?" Deka put her hands on her hips. "Deso? No? Have yah played any type of games?"
Link rubbed the back of his neck. "Not really…" He wasn't even sure if he wanted to know what this basketball was or corn whole even. Most of all who knows what this Rebso-Ball was, before he could tell her he didn't really want to play he was being dragged out of the room.
"Yah need to get out and have some fun, sweetheart. " Deka chuckled as she dragged him down the hall. She looked at Navi who teleported in front of her. "Seems yah have already out did Zigor with Teleporting." She smiled at Navi. Navi smiled back as she looked at Link who didn't seem too thrilled being dragged away. Along with it, she didn't want to see Deka and the others make more cruel and embarrassing jokes making him feel uncomfortable "He doesn't want to play… so why don't you go play." Navi addressed Deka.
Deka stopped and looked at Link. "Oh come on, we need even teams to play. Me and Zigor are one short, so Link here can play on our team. Neva' fun being one man short, this way yah know no one has to sit out. Also it's actually a fun way to help him with yah training, so it won't be completely useless." Deka argued trying to get Link to go play with her and the others.
Link pulled his arm away from Deka. He let out a small sigh knowing that she probably wouldn't give up. He looked at Navi and smiled weakly. "I guess I can try this… Ro- er.. rebo ball" He uttered looking at Deka not too confident in taking the offer.
Grinning Deka put her hand over his shoulder and started to guide him down the hall. "Yah can come watch Navi!" Deka smirked as she looked at Link. "It's simple, zero gravity and yah toss the ball into a sphere hoop; Nuttin to it, yah going to be on mine and Zigor's team. We are going against the two redheads and Zigor's little girl."
Link's ears drooped some. He still didn't really see how this game even sounded fun. Nodding as he ran the concept of the game through his head. Though he remembered the one planet he went on with Eznik, he said there was more gravity, what did it mean if there was zero gravity? Would it mean he would be light as a feather?
Deka stopped outside of the training room as she opened the door. Her eyes trailed to Navi. "It might get a little dangerous for you in here, but you still are welcomed to join in." She smiled at the faerie.
Navi looked into the room where the others were. "How is it dangerous? If it's dangerous why are you making Link go play with you?" she questioned Deka wanting to know the truth behind this Rebso-Ball. She put both her hands on her hips flying in Deka's face.
"Sweetie it's only dangerous to yah for cause you're so small. One hit with the ball yah be out like a light. I'm only lookin' out for yah safety. Linky here, he'll be just fine-o." Deka winked at Link but kept her focus on the overly concerned faerie.
"I'll be fine.." Navi insisted as she flew into the room. She glanced back at Deka who led Link into the room. She shut the door walking over to a panel. "Alright! Yah'll know the rules… well, most of yah.." Deka chuckled as she opened up the panel on the wall. She looked at the computer studying it. "No throwing the ball to try to kill anyone. Only allowed to hold someone for 5 seconds, no grabbing the sphere hoop. Shoving is allowed!" Deka relayed the rules as she pushed a few buttons. "And NO flying, teleporting, or beating the shit out of anyone" each of those rules were for certain people, none of which was Link.
Link let out a small gasp as he felt himself floating off the ground. He looked at the others and then to the floor confused. What in the world was going on? It seemed he was light as a feather. He looked at Gotenoo who used the wall to kick herself off of. She giggled as she flew through the air and did a couple flips.
"It's Zero gravity." Zigor informed him as he laid back in a relaxing pose as if he on an invisible bed. He laughed a bit looking at Link's expression of confusion. "Don't worry we're fine till Sakki or Gotenoo chucks the ball at the control panel and busts the computer; then we go back to regular gravity. That's a bit of a bitch."
Link nodded, but was still confused about this whole thing. Couldn't figure out how they were able to remove the gravity out the air. He looked over at Sakki who was next to a weird metal sphere that was green. It looked like something could be tossed in it. His guess was that was a sphere hoop, that Deka was talking about throwing the ball in.
"Catch, Link." Zigor alerted as he tossed a small ball to Link. Link looked at it as he caught it. He studied the small ball and then looked to Zigor unsure of what to do now. His blue eyes went to Deka who floated near him. "Ready?" Deka grinned at him. She then kicked him in the back. Link let out a small whine as he floated forward. He looked at Rin who hit off a wall and thrust herself forward aiming at him. Link tossed the ball up in the air, because he wasn't too sure what to even do with it.
Sakki grabbed the ball and smirked as he looked at Zigor. He threw the ball hard as he could pass him, hoping he might fly in the path of the ball and get hit. Zigor jittered as he grabbed the ball, barely. He went to throw it but Gotenoo slammed into him. Deka chuckled as she used her tail to grab it. She threw the ball towards Link. "Yah sweetie Catch, don't let Rin get it!" She yelled out to him.
Link looked at Rin and grabbed the ball. He shuddered as Rin grabbed the ball in his hand. She smiled as she ripped the ball from him. "Grab her Link! Grab her!" Deka yelled out. Rin went to throw it but Link grabbed one of her wings. "Hey!" she squeaked. She looked at him as his ears went down as he let go. "Sorry" he apologized. He had just grabbed the closest thing.
Deka grabbed the ball as Rin was distracted by Link's apology. She chuckled as she glided by just to get slammed by Gotenoo. Despite being pummeled Deka threw the ball to the sphere. Deka gawked as she watched Sakki slam Zigor into the sphere to move it out of the way.
Zigor vanished with Sakki. It was clear Zigor wasn't happy by the way Sakki was playing the game. Deka chuckled as she grabbed the ball looking as Gotenoo zoomed past her and grabbed the ball. Deka looked to the door wondering about the two that vanished knowing if Zigor and Sakki were in a room alone that was going to end badly. "By the dams Sakki.. Already?" Deka muttered, not happy that the game was interrupted by those two who just can't get along.
"Game on hold… Rin, Yah think yah can grab Link there. Gotenoo, honey yah turn off the gravity, and all of yah stay here. Navi, can yah teleport me to Eznik ? I'll explain once we get yah know get there." Deka presented as she looked at Navi.
Link was a bit confused, though he guessed it was because Zigor teleported. He glanced at Navi as Deka and her vanished. He jumped a little as Rin grabbed his arm. He looked up at her. He felt the gravity pull on his body as Gotenoo turned it back on. Link looked around confused wondering why he wasn't falling. He looked at Rin, was she flying with such small wings?
Rin looked to the door and then flew down to the ground, once Link's feet touched the ground she let go. "Come on! Let's go see them get in trouble!" Gotenoo grinned as she ran out of the room. "er.. ugh." Link moaned. Deka told them to stay there. He watched at who followed suit taking off after Gotenoo. Link shook his head not wanting to be left behind followed after the two.
Rin let out a small cry as she paused in the hall. She held her right arm as it was hurting badly. "Sakki hurt my daddy!" she yelled out to Gotenoo who turned and looked at Rin. "We better hurry!" she declared. She took off running down the hall. Link looked at Rin not sure if she was ok or not. It was such an odd thing for her to just yell out like that. Then there was the fact of how would she know that Zigor was hurt? He shivered as Rin grabbed his hand and pulled him down the hall with her.
The three stopped as Zigor was being pulled out of a bedroom by Eznik. Zigor was cursing in another language; he had a few tears down his cheek and a black eye. His right arm laid motionless to his side clearly broke, probably in more than one spot. "Daddy!" Rinn called out as she ran up to Zigor and hugged him. Zigor let out a yowl as she hugged his broken arm, he didn't have much pain tolerance.
"Rin, he's going to be ok.. but you're holding his broken arm. " Eznik spoke quietly. "Come on.. let's get your arm fixed." He dragged Zigor down the hall followed by Rin. Deka glanced at Link and Gotenoo. Her eyes went to the bedroom door. Autum glanced at them and shut the door.
Deka shook as she stared at the door. "He's in serious trouble… Eznik and Autum are pissed. Eznik never lets, yah know Autum, punish anyone.." She looked at Link and Gotenoo. "Yah know I bet because Autum is an eye for yah know an eye is why. But for some reason he's letting her this time." Deka chattered as she walked over to Link and Gotenoo.
Navi flew up and sat on Deka's shoulder. "Wait, does that mean she will do the same to Sakki? He's just a boy, I mean that would be cruel!" Navi spouted, though that kid did break Zigor's arm and what it looked like he started it. Still she didn't believe in that eye for eye attitude.
The group's attention turned to the door as they heard Sakki holler out in painl. Link's ears drooped wondering what she did to the boy. Autum walked out of the room dragging Sakki out by his shoulder. Sakki was looking at the ground. One of his arms laid motionless to his side, it was clear what had happened. Sakki was holding his eye with his other hand.
Link stared at him, did Autum do that? He glanced at Deka who seemed a bit shocked herself. The three stayed quiet as Autum walked Sakki to the medical wing. "Did Autum do that?" Gotenoo spoke looking at Deka. She never had seen Autum do such a thing, then again they never seen Autum's punish before.
Deka nodded some. "Yah know Zigor couldn't break Sakki's arm, he yah know ain't fast enough nor strong enough to do that. I guess yah dad is really mad if yah know he let Autum do that. Then again yah know Sakki has the strength advantage on most of us.I suppose maybe it was to teach him not to overreact, especially over a game." Deka said as she shrugged her shoulders. That was her guess of it. Link looked at Deka and then down the hall where Autum had gone. Deka looked down the hall as well "Or maybe it was a punishment that Sakki needed, to teach that kid that he can't go around being as cruel as he pleased."
Navi shook her head. "Still that's no reason to let her do something like that! He is a kid!" Navi protested. Deka sighed as she ruffled Gotenoo's hair. " Some people only yah know learn the hard way, Sakki tends yah know to be that kind. Sakki may be a kid but he is extremely dangerous if you put him in a room with another guy. Besides they shouldn't you know be screwing around.. our time is ticking away. Everyone's health and yah know well-being is important yah know at this time." Deka spoke quietly to Navi. "So yah know we should go see what yah'll should be doing." Deka started to walk down the hall towards the medical wing, not knowing what else to say as she had her own questions..
Link followed behind quietly. It was true their time was running out, what more who knows if he could hold his own against this kid especially after he just heard that Sakki had a strength advantage over the others. Navi landed on his shoulder. He smiled at her, not wanting her to know how troubled he was about maybe being left behind..
Deka stopped outside of the room as they could hear Eznik yelling at the two in another language. It was clear Eznik was on edge about this entire thing, the last time they saw him like this was years ago, when Brat first vanished. She put her hands over Gotenoo's ears so she would not hear what was being said.
Autum walked out of the room leading Rin out. She shut the door behind her while looking at the baffled group standing there in front of her. "Eznik is going to chat with both of them. As for the rest of you, I'll be explaining the basics of our plan is. So follow me." Autum walked down the hall to the conference room.
Deka nodded some; it was clear at this point that there were to be no more games. It was time for them all to get in the right mindset to prepare for what was coming. Deka shrugged a little, being serious just wasn't her. "So yah gonna tell us bout your husband?"
Autum kept walking onward ignoring Deka. She walked into the conference room where Atia was sitting, though there was no sign of Gajra. Autum sighed knowing this was going to be a long hour. She'd rather be training Link than explaining this. She watched everyone sit down as she walked over to a computer screen.
Link looked to the door. Everyone was a bit surprised as Gajra walked into the room. He didn't join the group at the table, but just leaned against the wall to listen in on the plan. He knew that he would have to know what was going on if he was going to be any help.
