"I'm not done, dammit, so fuck off." An irritated voice spoke up from behind some crates. A young woman with long black hair exhaling an air of annoyance stood up holding a crate of supplies. She had on a tight black and gray jumpsuit that had belts all over it as a decorative and functional design. She was tan skinned and her tan skin had white markings on it. She looked over at who she was talking to. She peered at Autum. "Autum… well, truly didn't expect to see you till you left." she remarked as she walked over and set the crate down next to the small ship.
Autum didn't respond as she nonchalantly walked up and sat on a crate the woman had just placed there. She sat watching the young woman. "You know, I missed out on all the fun gathering your supplies. I heard you brought a small group of people with you who are as strange and nuts as you. Ferira is also saying that there is a blonde lad here who apparently is your son. Though I doubt that, because what?.. you would have had him when you were like 11? But then, that would be normal by your species standards I suppose. Still I told him that's a load of shit that you didn't have a kid, no way you ever let anyone get that close to you, physically, mentally or emotionally. So who is the blonde, huh? Ryuk said that Jural said you were going easy on him during a spar." Miles spitefully asked as she opened up another crate looking through it.
Autum chuckled, Miles was just the same as she remembered. What more, it seemed news and rumor flew quickly through the group like normal as well. "He's a non-merger who helped me and my brother, so.. I guess.. a friend." Autum answered truly trying to figure out just what was Link to her. Autum caught a box that Miles threw at her that she had pulled out of the crate she was looking through. She opened the box and she pulled out one of the vials from it. The vial was filled with a red liquid. "A Gaia-revial? How did you manage to get hold of these?" Autum questioned her.
Miles smirked. "They were so valuable I had to steal some before I left. Then we came across someone who figured out the formula. I got enough for your whole little group. Though you know it might not work very well on you. The one drawback to the stuff is the body soon becomes immune to the bloody thing. Unfortunately, our guy hasn't figured out that snag yet."
Autum looked at the vial and then to her. "Sorry, you missed out on all the fun but I'd rather have you doing my supplies than any of those lummox bastards." she revealed as she looked to Miles who was digging through another crate.
"Yah, the grunt work… you always had me doing that." Miles bluntly stated as she glanced over at Autum. She pulled out some medical guns to go with the vials. "You said it was one thing I didn't fuck up on, more or less a compliment from you. High Praise!" chuckled Miles. "The nicest thing you ever said to any of us. Everyone was jealous of that crappyass accolade."
Autum rolled her eyes as she got up and walked to one of the crates looking through it. "Without the right supplies and other specifics some of those missions we wouldn't have been able to accomplish. You know as well as I if we had Ferira doing it one box would have been filled with toys and only the fates know what else, nothing useful though I promise you that." She shook her head at the thought. "This armor will fit the shorter ones?" she asked as she picked up a set of dimensional police armor looking at it.
"I got another crate for those. You didn't really get a lot of guns, not like you." Miles spoke as she looked at Autum. "You sure you don't need more guns?" she questioned for it didn't seem like Autum. She always made sure each person had 3 to 5 guns apiece whenever they went on a mission.
"Some of them don't use guns and also, I wouldn't trust some of them using a gun either. What guns I got are for me, my brother and two of the others. So you don't need a lot of gun power." She conveyed as she leaned against a crate looking at Miles who was staring at her. "What?"
Miles shook her head. "It's that look, also the fact you're not cussing at me for being too slow. There's something on your mind but your pride won't let you say it. You know, you need your mind clear before you go on this mission. You knew that though for that's the only reason you're here right now. So speak up."
Autum looked away from her. She wasn't even sure what to say or where to begin. But she had to get this out of her so she could focus on the battle they soon would be executing. She exhaled as she spilled her frustration "I guess.. that blonde teen.. Apparently, I care too much for him.. Don't want to see him get hurt. I let myself get attached, don't know how or when it happened but it happened... And now, I can't focus. So I'm not taking him, though he's a damn good fighter."
Miles sat down on a crate looking at Autum. "You have changed some, back in the days if you ever liked anyone or felt it was a possibility, well, you'd either beat the shit out of them or cussed them out thoroughly and often. I suppose that was your way to scare them off so you not get too attached. Just forget about that teen, he'll be here safe with your old squad. And don't feel guilty for leaving him, got it? Think about it more like..a..a backup plan. You know, if you guys fuck up there and you need someone to come rescue your sorry asses, he's your hero. So think of him.. and me and I know there are others here as well despite their denial as your backup plan to get your ass out of there, got it? So no worries." Miles gave her the best little lecture she could think of.
Autum sighed, she was right she couldn't think about him. He would be safe and that's all that matters. "If the worse happens and none of us come back. I want you to take care of him. He's a good kid. I'll get you information for his home dimension. If he wants to go back there, take him. Also keep Ferira away from him. Link is tough as niberrian nails and yet fragile as hell. He's a killer if need be but retains his innocence. He's a paradox, don't want Ferira messing."
Miles nodded as she looked at Autum. She could tell that she cared a lot for this blonde teen, seemed a bit off for Autum, though for her species she was rather old, maybe old age changed her. Or maybe she just changed or who knows, maybe, that blond changed her.
"You ever tell Jaraj you like him?" Autum asked to change the topic. By Miles reaction to the question it was a no. "You should.. you know no one else likes him. If you don't, I'll tell him as I'm walking on the ship to leave. I will announce it for all to hear. That way I know for sure I got backup cause I know for a fact you will hunt me down on that spacestation to get your revenge!" guffawed Autum.
"Just try that, you won't get off this planet." chuckled Miles "And the truth is I might like him in that way, but he likes you and always has. Still holding a torch for you I think. And the only reason you said no to him was because you knew I liked him. And if you say anything to him I'll tell him the reason you said no.. so that would mean he had a chance with you and so he will be pissed off that I got in the way. Besides all that was years ago anyway. I might like him that way still, but I'm sure if he liked me he would have said something by now. He's not a shy one." Miles shook her head as she jumped off the crate.
"No.. my reason for not going out with him was true not an excuse.." Autum stated as she looked at her. "I don't like younger men…And just wasn't into the dating thing. So when I get back and find you haven't told him I will tell him personally." Autum winced as Miles threw a box at her. Autum chuckled as she set the box down. She got off the crate realizing that it might have been years ago but Miles still had it bad for him.
.
Miles shook her head. "You are still a bitch you know that, right?" Miles glared at her. Autum let out a chuckle as she picked up a gun. "I didn't want you to get the impression of anything other than that fact... Hey, where's Gerdan, I haven't seen him around?" she questioned Miles. "What is he hiding? That bastard still scared of me?" she smirked.
Miles shook her head. "He stayed with the government. Last I heard he was a high ranking officer." She picked up a couple clips tossing them to Autum. "I still stay in contact with him, but all under an alias."
Autum shook her head. "The bastard would be the one who wouldn't betray the DP, as he is chicken-hearted; too afraid of everything." She loaded the gun she was holding. "Don't even see how he is your family."
"After you left he ended up getting a family. He started his own life. So I wouldn't call him a coward. He at least went and made a life for himself unlike most of us. Only one other of us that ended up with a family that was Sorha." Miles argued for the sake of Gerdan.
"What an interesting group that she has picked…" Ferira spoke up as he walked up to Brat's crew that was waiting outside of the mess hall tent. "A tree hugger, a rukadaral, a whore, a slave boy, a demon, a Raktvira, and an overly-hyper little girl. Doesn't seem like a very good choice for a crew let alone a group to break into a highly secured has to be a joke that bitch is playing on us." he laughed as he looked at them all. He glanced back at Ryuk who was there for there wasn't much else that went on on that planet. He was there in hopes of more entertainment. His bet at that moment was the crew would beat the shit out of Ferira.
Zigor glared at the man. He hated that this man dared call him a slave. He went to confront the bastard but Deka walked up to him before he could. "Awe, what's wrong, your boyfriend dump you?" Deka spoke to Ferira as she nodded at Ryuk. "I mean sheesh, I'm sorry but I don't think the tree hugger is that yah know into yah either." Deka wasn't too thrilled with this man but rather than violence which she knew Eznik would not approve of, she decided she was going to play his little game and beat the bastard at it.
Ferira smirked thinking this was going to be fun; he wasn't expecting one of them to try to beat him at his own game. "Actually he did." He nodded back to Ryuk. "My little heart, you know needs someone to cheer it up. I was wondering if I could use your little slave boy. He's just my type." He smirked as he glanced back at Zigor who was glaring at him.
Deka looked back at Zigor. "Yah know I can't do that… the tree hugger already got claims on that one… And well, the other ones are just yah know too young for yah taste, plus they don't go with heyals."
Ferira shrugged "What about your services then? That would be for free, wouldn't it, since you're a ratsuda or better known as a whore?" He smirked at her knowing he probably hit a nerve with Deka but he didn't care he was getting his source of entertainment.
Deka yawned. "Yah know, you would have to sell yourself to a whore for them to even think about yah know doing yah. I'm sure yah know they are a lot cleaner than yah as well. I might go around for free but yah know yah would have to pay me something serious to even THINK about doing yah."
"Ferira.." A man walked up to them. He had black fur that covered him. He had rather large ears with piercings on them. He wore a green tank top and khakis. He had blue and green markings throughout his fur. "Get your pathetic ass away from them, you too, Ryuk." he snapped at the two, knowing that they were causing trouble.
Deka smirked. "Awe.. the big bad wolf came to get you.." Deka chuckled as she watched the two walk away. She looked at the man who walked up to her.
"And you, young lady shouldn't add fuel to the fire." He walked up to the rest of the crew. "Jaraj wants me to escort you all to the ship you will be taking. Miles, will be giving you all heads up on the supplies she is giving you. I expect you all will give her your full attention and respect, if you will, follow me." he instructed the group as he headed through the small camp.
Eznik sighed as he looked out of Jaraj's tent. "So you will tell him everything for us?" He looked back at Jaraj as he put the finishing touches on the device. He still felt wrong about doing it this way, but he knew it was for the better. Autum would be a mess if the boy was awake and begging to go.
Jaraj nodded as he put the device into a box. "Yes, I'll stay in there so when he wakes up he's not alone and then I'll explain everything to him. You don't worry about him, doctor." He walked up to Eznik. He glanced at Navi who was looking at the ground. "Same goes to you, little miss. I'll deliver him your message as well. If Autum taught me one thing it was you have to focus on the mission. Put everything behind you and prepare yourself for what's coming. Besides the obvious flaw in the lesson for you never know what's going to be coming, now do you?" He shook his head deciding not a time to ramble. "Come on now, Heric is taking the others to meet Miles. You will also need her little lecture about the supplies."
Autum looked at the group as they walked up. No sign of Link, her guess Eznik figured out she didn't want him going. Her brother could read her rather well at times. Though she was sure that the other times he 'didn't' read her was more of his choice as an excuse to piss her off. She set down the crate she was holding and walked over to one of the taller crates sitting on it.
Miles looked at the group and glanced at Autum. Were these really the fighters that Autum picked? They looked so young, though if Autum picked them, well, she had her reasons she assumed though she could not see the wisdom of such. "Alright, all of you sit down on the ground or on the crates I don't care about, pick. I expect you to shut up, got it?"
Deka used her tail to shove Zigor off a crate and sat down and chuckled. She flailed as she was shoved right back off of it by Gotenoo who sat down. She laughed as she looked at the two. "I win!" She grinned at them.
Deka chuckled as she used the crate to get up. She grabbed Gotenoo's arm and pulled her off. She sat quickly down in her place. She looked at Miles who was standing over the three glaring at them. "If you three want to play games you can go fuck off and not think about going on this mission, got it?. One thing Autum is not.. is a babysitter." she snapped at them.
Zigor crawled up on a crate nearby next to Rin. As for Deka as she sat down and Gotenoo squeezed next to her on the same crate, all the others were sitting except Gajra who stood behind where Atia was sitting.
Miles looked at Jaraj as he walked up with Eznik and the faerie. Miles studied the faerie. It was the first time that she had ever seen one. She was quite enchanted by the sight. She shook her head and looked back at the others, there was no sign of this 'blonde' everyone was talking about. She wondered where he was. It mattered not, she thought as she tried to put her focus on what she needed to tell everyone but as she looked at the group she was even more baffled. She wasn't sure how the hell Autum could stand to be with these kids, let alone lead them into battle. She didn't have that kind of patience. It all seemed to make no sense to her. Still it wasn't her business, she decided.
"Alright, listen up. Each of you will get a set of armor I don't give a shit if you don't like armor this will protect you from getting yourself killed by bullets." Miles shouted to the group as she walked up to Autum. She took the small box from her.
"In addition, each of you will be given one of these." Miles spoke as she pulled out the vial with the red liquid inside. "This is a Gaia-revial, this will make your body immune to sleeping gas and tranquilizers for about 5 minutes. If you have to use this, you NEED to tell someone else because when this wears off you will be out like a light if you're hit again. Hopefully, none of you will have to use this." Miles pulled out a medical gun and loaded it with a vial. "You will need to load up the gun before you get there so it's ready to go. There are safeties on these medical guns to make sure you don't fuck up and shoot yourself accidentally. If you are affected by tranquilizers easily I recommend that you don't keep your safety on and pray it doesn't go off. Shoot it into your side." Miles spoke as she demonstrated to the group where to shoot it. "Any questions?" she asked them.
Deka raised her hand, waving it about as if a child in class wanting to be called on. Eznik stepped up making Deka put her hand down, stopping her before she could ask any question "Any questions that relate to using it… Also, no more jokes out of you two..The time for joking is over. This is vital information." he spelled out as he looked at Zigor and Deka. "You need to start taking things seriously." He looked back at Miles, he knew this was a crucial time and important information was being given. They shouldn't be joking around now. It was a time to start getting into the mindset of what they needed to do..
Miles glanced over at Eznik, it seemed he was the one who knew how to handle them. She then glanced at them all. "Who are the ones that use the guns?" she questioned the group. She needed to make sure they knew how to load them and use them properly.
Autum pointed out the two trouble makers to Miles along with her brother. Miles gasped as she looked at Zigor and Deka who both grinned at her. Autum trusted those two with guns? It made her wonder who the hell were the ones, Autum DIDN'T trust using the guns. She glanced at Autum and sighed uncomfortably as she used her finger to wave them up to her. She walked over to a crate as she grabbed out a gun and held it to Deka. "You know how to use one?"
Deka sniggered. "Yah gotta give me a clip and I'll show yah how to use one. Ziggy on the other hand I don't know if he does."
Zigor shook his head as he took the next gun from Miles. He jerked as Eznik smacked him on the side of the head. "You behave or I'll make you both stay here, understand? Or do I need to have Autum have a chat with you?" he snapped at the two.
Deka and Zigor both looked at Eznik. He was under a lot of stress and it was clear he didn't even like even the smallest of jokes as of now. They both shook their heads as Eznik took his gun. He took the clip from Miles. "I believe we all know how to use these, if not I'm sure Autum can go over it on the way."
Miles nodded as she studied Eznik, it was the first time she met any of Autum's family it seemed being a control bitch ran in the family. "Alright, I have 2 other guns for you as well. They are on the ship. You can just drop and leave them on the station, there's no trackable parts." She explained to the three. Eznik nodded as he glanced to the other two. "Anything else?" he asked her, smiling. Though inside he was trying not to panic and stress about everything that was going to happen.
Miles tapped her finger to her lip. "There are some simple hacking devices and communication gadgets but I'm sure most of you know how to use such and Autum will explain the rest if she believes it is needed." She glanced at the rest of them, she held up her hand and shouted out something in her native language. She looked at them all. "May your mortal souls give you strength and let Rem watch over you all."
Eznik nodded as he looked at Autum who hopped off the crate that she'd been sitting on. "Let's head out!" Autum yelled to the group as she walked inside of the ship. She headed to the back room grabbed her bag and headed to the small cockpit. She sat down in the pilot seat knowing it was time.
Jaraj walked up to Eznik and held up the box. "Give this to Autum, it's the device that your daughter made." Jaraj handed it to Eznik. "Good Luck, if you make it out of there, you and your crew will always be welcomed here. So if you guys need a place to hide out, you know where. And we got that blonde, don't forget."
Eznik smiled as he took the box. "I will remember that, also thank you very much for your hospitality and thanks for watching over Link." Eznik shook Jaraj's hand and headed off after the rest of the crew. He looked at Navi who was on his shoulder. She had stayed rather quiet. She was looking in the direction of Eznik's ship. "Don't worry about him, he's safe. We need to worry about ourselves." He smiled weakly at her.
Eznik walked onto the bridge as he looked at Autum who had just pulled out a set of knives out of her bag. She glanced at him seeing what he was holding. "Give that to the rat; tell her to put that on her 'baby'." Autum said as she typed on the control panel with the handle of one of her knives. She glanced back at Eznik as he walked out of the room with Navi. She let out a small sigh knowing this was it, time to do or die.
Eznik walked into the back area where the others were. He grabbed the door frame as the ship shook some as it lifted off the planet. Lined along the walls were seats with straps, this was once a drop ship for soldiers, but had been modified now for speed and stealth. It was more for space battle now than planet. The room had a couple of crates that Zigor and Deka had dug into. Deka was on the ground cutting into a pair of pants so her tail would fit through. Rin was sitting next to her cutting into the back of a chest piece for her walked up to Deka and held out the box to her with Brat's device in it.
Zigor chucked a chest piece at Sakki who caught it and began putting it on. Zigor dug into the crate pulling out another one and tossed it to Gotenoo. Gotenoo looked at it. "So why do we have to have this?" she asked the group that had been unnaturally quiet. "It will protect you sweetie, that's all." Eznik spoke up smiling at Gotenoo. "Don't want you or the others to get hurt."
"Also why you all.. will be wearing the helmets." Autum spoke as she walked into the room. She walked up to a crate opening it. "This will help to keep them from putting all of your faces up everywhere. The last thing you all need is the government after you by face and name." Grabbing a helmet she tossed it to Eznik. "You get to wear one for the sheer fact of it. If they know you're there they will make sure to get you first."
Eznik chuckled as he looked at it. He set it down as he grabbed himself a chest piece. He looked at Navi who was looking at the others. Her ears were low, something about all of this felt wrong. She shook her head some as Eznik picked her up. She looked up at him.
"Are you ok, Navi?" Eznik asked. Navi nodded "I'm fine.. You go ahead and get ready." She jumped up and flew over to an unopened crate and sat down. She had a bad feeling; maybe it was because they left Link behind. She wasn't sure. She wobbled a little as Autum bent down in front of her. Autum looked at her with her blue webbed eyes. "We will get through this fine, and make it back to Link, so focus." She spoke as she stood up looking at the others who were getting ready and passing out gear. She sighed knowing that she had more to explain before they got there.
"Alright I'm sure you're capable of listening while you get ready. First off, I'm sure you all have heard of the rumored Elites.. well, they are real and I used to be part of them so I can vouch that they are quite will most likely be on the station, there are 5 of them. You have Yoko, he wields two swords that are fire elements. He lust for fighting and to get to him is either beat him or get to his twin sister Kiko. She is a sniper who uses a bow. They are usually together. Her aim with a bow is just as deadly as anyone can do with a gun. If she needs you alive she will shoot for joints and make sure it's painful as hell so you can't escape. You need to get close range to get to her and be able to dodge her attacks. Though her shots you might not be able to see it coming."
Autum glanced at them all trying to decide how to explain the next Elite, one who she was screwed against. "The next one is Endra, no one knows his real name. All I know is the bastard can use your name to control you basically. So no names, we can't use our real names on the station for several reasons so that means you all need nicknames." She pointed at Zigor. "Your nickname will be the drunk, and you, the rat" she said as she pointed at Deka.
"I wanna be pipsqueak!" Gotenoo verbalized as she raised her hand smiling. She really had no real sense of the danger that was up ahead. All she knew was they were getting her sister back. She smiled at Autum who simply nodded.
Autum looked at Sakki. "Redhead, demon, plant, astral and ass." Autum finished up as she pointed at her younger brother. "Though I'm sure he already knows your name." She just picked the simplest names hopefully they all could remember each other by for this to work out right. One mistake meant he would have another fighter. She knew that she was already at his mercy since he knew her name. "The key for him is if he says someone else's name such as mine whatever he says I can't do, you got to force him to do it so he will let the person free of it he will remove the block."
Autum sighed knowing that they probably replaced Celtic, that meant that there was one Elite she didn't know anything about. "My replacement was a huthantas, Zigor's species. She looks to be 8 or 9, she wears an eye patch. She is extremely deadly with her teleporting ability. She has it fully mastered and she doesn't fuck up." She glanced at Zigor. "My husband was one of them as well… I'm sure they already have him replaced, Unfortunately, I don't know who they replace him with. So be ready for anything, possibly someone with a strong defense or someone who can disable you."
Deka looked at Autum as she mentioned her husband. She couldn't remember him but she mentioned him. "So..yah husband will be able to help if we get him out, since yah know he was part of those Elites?" Deka asked since she hated being this quiet.
Autum looked at Deka knowing she was prying for information. "Yeah, he will be helpful.. and when we get him out you can ask him all the questions you want, Rat. Once we get out of that hell hole." Autum stated as she walked over to a crate pulling out a headset and putting it on.
She glanced at her younger brother. She was worried for his health, she also knew he wasn't much of a fighter anymore. Then there was his daughter Gotenoo, she may have natural skills and a talent for fighting, but she sometimes was easily distracted and often played with her opponents like a cat does a mouse when she needed to just take them down.
She looked the crew over recognizing their potential but also recognizing their faults as well. She prayed that everything went well. She knew that this was an all or nothing mission. She prayed that they all give their all; being at the top of their game. Part of her was grateful that Link wasn't there though she knew they really needed him but if this all went bad he wouldn't be part of that which she was thankful for..
Link opened his eyes, sitting up panting. He moved his hands over his face as he was trying to calm his mind. He was having a dream about when Celtic and him were trying to save Autum and Eznik. Though there were some differences, there were more guards and some of the crew were captured as well. It all felt too real and left him with a sickening feeling.
His blue eyes looked around the room. His eyes stopped as they locked with Jaraj who was sitting in a chair working on a laptop with his back to him. He glanced around for anyone else, but there was no-one. He figured they must be keeping Navi busy or she would be there, he thought not wanting to believe he could have been left behind. Link bit his lip trying to decide if he should ask or not.
Jaraj glanced back at Link. "Eznik wanted me to tell you that they all left." He closed his laptop and got up. "So you will be helping out around the camp till they return." He wanted to see how the teen was going to take such news.
Link shook his head in disbelief. He felt like he'd been shot in the heart with an arrow when he said they had left him. He knew he was trying to make sense of it. Why didn't they wait for him? He held his own, right? Maybe it was because he held back? He looked at Jaraj. "I don't understand, why did they leave without saying anything? Why didn't they wake me? Did they say anything about why I couldn't go? They said I could go if I held my own. I did, right? I held my own." he questioned Jaraj.
Jaraj walked over to the counter and he set his laptop down. He grabbed a device to check Link's vitals. "For Autum's sake I believe is how Eznik put it. It seems you have gotten to her emotionally. Somehow squeezed yourself into that stone heart of hers." Jaraj divulged as he ran the device glancing at Link. "Her brother didn't believe she could focus with you around and didn't want his crew paying the price because of that, thus leaving you here." He set the device down on a hover table. "Which brings me to my question, what did you sacrifice to get on Autum's good side? How did you manage to get her to open the door of that cold heart of hers?" he questioned Link.
Link's ears drooped as he looked at Jaraj. He was left behind because Autum was emotionally tied to him? She was a fighter and that shouldn't affect her, right? Though he was the only person Autum seemed to be even nice to. He ran his hand through his bangs trying to sort this all out. "I gave up my prize to her so she could find out her memories that were sealed up." Link spoke quietly as he looked to the bed with his blue eyes still trying to piece everything together as his heart stung to the reality he was sitting in..
Jaraj plopped down in a chair looking at the teen. Sacrificing, just a prize? What memories of hers were sealed up that she would end up liking someone for helping to get those memories back. He shrugged. "What memories did she find out with that prize?"
Looking to Jaraj, deciding if he should tell him or not. He sighed some, she did leave him here right, so would it hurt if he told this man? They are apparently her friends. "Well… She found out she had a husband and that her child had passed away."
Jaraj stared at him, Autum had a child? She would be the last person you would think would have a child. No wonder she still is a cold bitch losing a child and not knowing about it would do that, that horrible aching inside that had no tell.
"You know asking him about her private life is a bit rude…" Miles spoke as she leaned against the door frame. She looked at the two as they looked over at her. "Though, probably the only way any of us will know anything about what she has been doing all of these years." She walked up grabbing a chair pulling up next to the bed Link was on. She turned it around and sat on it backwards using the backrest for her arms. She looked at Link studying the blonde who Autum seemed to be in so much distress about. "I see why Autum likes you."
Link looked at Miles, his ears a bit low. He wished now he hadn't gotten to Autum for it left him in this dire state, left out of the battle, left behind with strangers. He still couldn't believe he was left behind. He couldn't understand why they didn't wake him to tell him themselves instead leaving him to find out from strangers. He heaved out a breath of exasperation. He glanced at Jaraj who seemed to be rather interested in Autum's life..
"Well, I would know if I had a child, even without the memory, a woman's body changes a lot, so she would've had to know she was pregnant at some point. We all know that she's a smart woman and would have figured out something was wrong. I think she thinks of you as her kid now. I know if I had a kid I would want him to be like you. You have your looks; by your eyes you have innocence and according to Autum you're a damn good fighter. What's more, you seem to be very caring and by the looks of it much better mannered than the rest of those kids who were here earlier."
Link looked at her and then to the bed his ears still low. He was a bit red, embarrassed by her compliments. Was he really that great of a person that someone would want a kid like him? He looked at Miles who was smirking at him.
"I'm sure she enjoys that, too you get embarrassed easily, like Jaraj used to." Miles chuckled. "Hey, leave me out of this…" Jaraj grumbled as he looked at Link. "You will eventually grow out of it, after a few months of them making fun of you eventually such numbs your feelings and deadens the nerves.""
Link sighed, great, it seemed torment was what most people enjoyed in these other dimensions. He looked at the two not sure what to even say to them. Part of him wanted to ask what were the odds of Autum and the other coming back alive. But on the other hand he really didn't want to know.
"Do you know what Autum's husband is like?" Miles spoke up changing the topic to give Link a break. She was sure Autum and most likely her brother enjoyed doing that to him as well. She glanced at the door where Ferira and Ryuk were. It seemed that she wasn't the only one who wanted to know what Autum has been doing.
Jaraj chuckled as the two walked up sitting on the beds. "I bet he's a complete dick like Autum is. Though I'm sure he looks more like goldilocks, I don't by that child crap either. I think the bitch likes him more than that, because he young and 'innocent'." Feriria smirked as he sat down looking at Link with a crooked smile on his face.
Ryuk walked up sitting next to Link and pulled off his hat looking at it. "I don't know, she wasn't a complete ass, and I think she's changed some. For one thing she didn't even punch you in the face Feriria. Plus, I think his personality might be a bit more like this teen."
Link looked at Ryuk who had stolen his hat. He looked to the bed feeling trapped by this group who were a lot older which felt a bit uncomfortable. One thing he didn't like was how they talked about him as if he wasn't even there. He flinched as Ryuk put his hand on his shoulder.
"So are your going to tell us what that bastard husband is like and his name perhaps?" Ryuk smiled at Link. He knew that the teen was uncomfortable; at least Feriria wasn't using the nickname he came up for the blonde. That might just make him break down since he seemed so fragile emotionally.
"You two should stop being bastards." Miles spoke up as she grabbed Link's hat from Ryuk and tossed it back to him. "I'm sure Jaraj will tattle on you like the old days. Autum might have changed some but I'm sure her wrath is still the same. Possibly even worse for picking on her only friend." Jaraj rolled his eyes as he put his feet up on the hover table.
Link looked at Miles and Jaraj, they didn't seem as bad as the other two. He held his hat deciding not to put it back on and risk it being stolen again. He was still trying to decide if this group was as bad as Brat's crew or worse.
"So?" Feriria questioned Link ignoring Miles little speech. He wanted to know who in the world Autum could fall in love with, what more have a kid with.
Thinking how to explain Celtic to them, Link twisted his hat in his hands. He didn't want to tell them that he was probably an idiot as he had been told. "His name is Celtic, he was an Elite. He's not one for strategy. He's a good fighter though with a-a high pain tolerance." Link's voice trailed off as he remembered seeing Celtic covered in blood at the station and him telling them all to go get Autum in the I-SO area. "He stayed behind to try to get Eznik's daughter back and to give us time to get out with Autum." He looked at them with his ears low hoping that was enough for them. He wasn't very good at explaining stuff.
"Self sacrificing and a good fighter, sounds like blondie here." Ryuk chuckled as he shoved Link some as he won in his little victory to himself calling what his personality would be like. Feriria shook his head. "What about what he looks like? Does he have blonde hair like you and wear some dorky non-merge hat?" he chuckled as he asked Link.
Link sighed, well, this was better than teasing, right? Just being called names instead wasn't as bad as the embarrassing stuff that Zigor and Deka did. "He has four horns on top of his head and black hair." Link looked to the ground. "er.. gold eyes, long ears and what looks like Autum's piercings around his eyes as well." He rubbed the back of his neck not sure how else to even describe him.
"Wait, she married a demon?" Jaraj spoke up looking at Link in shock. That didn't make sense as that would fall onto Autum's hate list. She hated non-mortals more than non-mergers. The list went the gods, demons, astral beings, and non-mergers...and anyone she consider stupid or an idiot.
Link looked at him, he ran through his mind what Eznik called him. "A devil." Link spoke correcting him. As what he remembered a devil was a hybrid of everything.
"A devil, you mean Satan? I mean he doesn't fit that. He would have red skin and only two horns on his head. Though it makes sense that she fucked the devil, I mean they would have so much in common." Ferira snickered.
Miles shook her head. "I didn't think you believed in religious dogma or their 'stories' as you put it. You believe when you die you're going to rot wherever your corpse lies. The devil in my culture is a black horse-like being that collects the dead, more like the grim reaper than anything else of your religion."
Ryuk chuckled. "Well, devils where I'm from are women who seduce others and are rather hot. They are tempted in its finest contempt. I wouldn't mind seeing Hitaru with one of them." He smirked as he glanced at Link who was staring at all of them.
Link shook his head, he wasn't sure if they were joking or they didn't know what a devil was. His ears went even lower, not sure how to even try to explain it. He was trying to remember what Eznik told him.
"I believe what the young man is trying to explain is a hybrid of other non-mortal species; a term for it is a Devil." Sohra spoke as he walked into the room holding a young girl who looked to be about 5. She looked like her father but she had long green hair that was braided. She looked at Link tilting her head.
"Now why the fuck do you know some bullshit nonsense like that non-merger?" Ferira asked as he looked at Sohra. "I mean you didn't know what the hell beer was but you know what a devil is. I mean I never heard of a devil like that."
Sorha shook his head as he set his daughter up on the counter. "Because it's of old religion and it's in my 'non-merge' religion as well. Maybe, if you started to believe in something you might learn something more. Also if his name really is Celtic, well then I know something about him as well as from a couple of religions I've read, though I'm sure you don't care, huryajra-Ferira."
Jaraj looked at Sorha. "You're saying you know Celtic from religions? Well, I guess religious stuff tends to stay in her family." He commented as he shook his head. "Ferira might not want to know but I know I would like to know what you know about Celtic, if it is him."
Sorha sat down next to his daughter and looked at Link. "Is Celtic a sealer and born of an Erinnye and other beings?" He wasn't sure if Link would know of his origin or not. It was worth a shot, if he did know well that would clarify if it really was the devil from religions.
Link looked at them all who were looking at him. His eyes looked down as he ran what Eznik had said. "Yeah, he's part demon, god and that E-erinnye" Link spoke up as he looked at Sorha avoiding the rest of their stares.
Sorha glanced at his daughter who was standing up on the counter looking at the different vials. "Well I believe that would make him the 'sealer of the gods'. He was part of the war of the gods and later wars as well."
Ryuk shook his head. "Woah you're saying he was part of the old wars that are in some religions? I mean wouldn't that make him like thousands of years old?" Ryuk looked at Jaraj. "You said that she told you were too young.. I guess she really likes the old ones." He chuckled some.
Jaraj shook his head. "You're just mad because you never got the gall to ask Autum. You were too afraid that she would rip off your balls. Also you might be older than me, but you lack what she likes in a guy plus I'm sure your boy, Ferira, wouldn't have liked that." Jaraj smirked at Ryuk.
Ferira smirked "Ryuk wishes he was mine… I like goldilocks better." He nodded at Link. "Though Jaraj, me and you can always get together as well. With you being a human who ages slower, I know you will have your looks for a while."
Miles shook her head. "Boys, boys, you can have your orgy later but I'm afraid the blonde will be coming with me to stay away from your little party. Also as interesting as your flirting is I want to know about the devil that is Autum's husband." She put her feet up on Jaraj.
Link didn't know what even to think of these people. He glanced at Ferira not sure if he was joking about the whole male dating or not. He decided not to even think about that possibility of a guy flirting with him.
Sorha took a vial from his daughter as he looked to the group. "I guess I can start with devils. Devils are basically hybrids of mortals, gods, demons and astral beings. These devils became extremely powerful and well, the gods, demons and astral beings didn't like this so they took all these devils and sealed them up on a planet before they could become more powerful than them. Though Celtic, they found to be unique because he was mixed with an Erinnye, a bird of judgment. Something that should've never happened in the first place. This made him more powerful than the gods… but they found out how to use him. So they used him to seal up gods, demons, angels and other beings that stood up against them. He became Orme which has two translations, 'sealers of the gods' or 'used by the gods'. From there well depends on your religion. Some say he is the next god of creation others say he will start the war of the mortals, the fall of the gods. I believe there are others that say he will kill all mortals."
Link stared at Sorha, was that all really true about Celtic? He was supposedly more powerful than the gods… but he seemed to be a bit of an idiot. Though he was immortal as he found out at the morgue, but still he never really showed any true power. Just that he could get the crap beat out of him and live. Link looked to Ryuk as he stretched.
"So what are the odds she managed to pick some super powerful bastard? Sounds like her to fall in love with someone who probably could beat her in a fight probably part of the appeal." Ryuk spoke up as he hopped off the bed he was on. He shook his head. "I can't wait to meet the bastard." He chuckled. "I also would like to watch him fight Autum, too. I would love to see her get her ass handed to her."
Jaraj rolled his eyes as he moved Miles' legs off of him. "You just like watching women fight because of their jiggling breasts." He got up to his feet. "Sorha, Miles, why don't you look through the medical supplies to see if there's anything here we can use. They said we could help ourselves. Link, come on, I doubt you want to be stuck with Ferira and Ryuk. Also if you stay long enough I'm sure one of them will end up kissing you. I would hate for your first kiss to be forced on you." Jaraj waved Link to follow him. He knew to keep him out of reach of those two.
Link walked out into the hallway and glanced back at Ryuk and Ferira and shook at the thought of being kissed by one of them. He changed his thought process to what really mattered to him. "What's the odds of them coming back? Do you think they even stand a chance? How could they leave without saying bye to me?" Link questioned Jaraj if he couldn't stand the fact of not knowing. Inside he had a sick feeling everything was going to go wrong.
Jaraj stopped and sighed looking back at Link. He felt sorry for the young lad. If they don't make it back he was going to be left to carry a lot of grief and guilt. Something he wouldn't wish on anybody. And he still wasn't even sure how Link would fit in there. He was of a totally different temperament than the rest of them.
"To be honest, if anyone tried that, well there's no chance in hell they would be coming back. The dimensional police are a well-trained and well-prepared force and no doubt are expecting Brat's crew to show up there and try to save her. I'm sure they have the Elites there as well. I know Autum was once one of them and that she is a damn good fighter but I don't even think she could take them all on. Though, I mean they do have Autum and she is someone who has a lucky rega or something. She seems to get out of everything she gets tangled in, so who knows. You know, I really don't have the answer. I can't tell you something that only time can tell. It's the hardest thing, waiting. We'll know in a few hours, if there hasn't been any contact, well… we'll know the answer."
Link looked away staring at the wall as he soaked up everything. That would mean everyone gone, even Navi. He would be the only one left out of them all. He would be so all alone. He couldn't believe that even Navi would be gone from his life. He closed his eyes and nodded. He looked at Jaraj with his blue eyes trying to hold back his emotions for just the idea of such hurt so bad he felt for sure he was going to fall to the floor and wasn't sure he'd ever be able to get back up. Someone would have to peel him off the floor. He heaved out his fears and decided he needed to stay positive, to believe the best.
Jaraj looked into his eyes, seeing him fighting his emotions. "Come on I'll show you around and introduce you to some of the others who live around here. " he said trying to get the teen's mind off of what could be happening to his friends.
