The Crumbling Orb: Magenta

The story takes place after the short story, Dream A Little Dream of Me. But reflects off of Karura's past.

Karura was sitting outside on one of the balconies of Stolas' palace.

Karura drank her Tapioca and noticed a shuttle land beneath her and Ken and Eto walked out of it holding hands.

Karura just rolled her eyes and leaped off the balcony and dropped down safely in front of them startling them.

"You crazy?" Eto asked.

"I see you two are crazy for one another." Karura said with a grin.

Ken just shook his head.

"Listen we just got back from something, we should see if we have enough virus capsules." Ken said.

"They're at seventy-five percent completion, no need to worry." Karura said.

"You know since we have a little time, I wouldn't mind knowing how you came to find us." Eto said.

Karura shrugged and leaned on a railing.

"I guess we got time." Ken said.

"Alright, I'll keep it as brief as I can." Karura said taking a quick sip of her Tapioca.

Karura began to tell the story.

A couple of days ago.

Karura was walking through the lower city of Coruscant and saw a news droid speaking of the upcoming threat of the Aparoids.

Karura looked at a datapad she stolen and read it about Aizen and the fifth fleet from a spy droid she had placed in Decorus' flagship to overhear conversations that went on.

A female Vastayan was walking on a street lamp above her.

"Back to spying on your boyfriend." The female said.

Karura rolled her eyes and turned around while gripping her coral hilted lightsaber.

"Pot calling the kettle black when here you are spying on me, Xayah." Karura said.

"Come on Karura, you and I both know that if the Federation knew what you was doing, you'd be a wanted criminal worth something." Xayah said.

Xayah slowly unsheathed a dagger and Karura spun her coral hilt around.

"We going to do this here and now?" Karura asked.

Suddenly Karura heard a noise coming and she looked to where it was coming from and when she looked back to Xayah, she was gone.

Karura went behind a crate and saw a human male and a female Arkanian off-shoot walking together and talking of the Aparoids.

"Don't worry Jarael, we will be safe in the undercity." The male said to the Arkanian offshoot.

"But Zayne, you heard what they said, they can cause damage far down as the undercity." Jarael said.

Zayne just sighed.

"Okay, let's head to the ship and see what planet we could lay low for a while." Zayne said.

"What about our son?" Jarael asked.

"Ken's probably on a shuttle to go to a secure location like everyone else." Zayne said.

Story interrupted.

"Wait, my father and my stepmother!?" Ken asked.

"Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I met your parents!" Karura said clapping.

"I would think that wouldn't be something to forget!" Ken said.

"You want me to shut up or do you want me to say what happened next?" Karura asked.

Ken just sighed.

"Go ahead." Ken said.

Story continues.

Karura overheard the word of a ship and she walked over to Zayne and Jarael.

"Excuse me, I couldn't help but overhear something about you having a ship and this alien invasion? Is there a chance I could maybe squeeze in?" Karura asked.

"No." Jarael said.

"Yes- wait what?" Zayne said.

"We aren't bringing in a random person." Jarael said.

"Jarael, this is dire times." Zayne said.

Jarael sighed and beckoned Karura.

"Come on, sorry for being paranoid." Jarael said.

"I'm Karura." Karura said.

"I'm Zayne and this is my wife Jarael." Zayne said.

"Different races, quite unique." Karura said.

"It's been like this for centuries." Zayne said.

"You could say I'm a girl out of time." Karura said.

Zayne and Jarael looked at her curiously but then to themselves with a shrug.

"So, I overheard you have a son?" Karura asked.

Zayne and Jarael paid a droid hanger guard and they walked to the ship that Karura would later have operated when she met Ken and his group.

"Yeah, a son. I have tried to contact him and he never picked up, and I contacted the university and they can't seem to find him or Hide." Zayne said.

"I'm sorry to hear that." Karura said.

Karura knew the truth from what her spy droid told her but she kept it quiet.

The three of them heard a humming sound and suddenly a solar beam pierced through a building in the distance and destroyed it completely.

Alarms was ringing everywhere.

"Alert! Aparoid Invasion! Alert!" A news droid shouted out.

People was in a panic running around and Zayne ran to the ship and prepared it for liftoff.

"Oh damn it!" Zayne said.

"Zayne, we will check on Ken later, I promise. We need to get out of here." Jarael said.

"I know I know." Zayne said.

The ship headed out of the hanger but they heard a thump on the top.

"Something must have fell on us." Jarael said.

The top hatch was forced open and Xayah leaped in aiming her blaster pistol at Karura.

"Trying to get off-planet huh? I told you what would happen if you tried it." Xayah said.

"You fool, I'm trying to escape from this bullshit!" Karura shouted.

"What the hell is this?" Jarael asked.

Xayah aimed her blaster at Jarael and shot her once.

Karura ignited her lightsaber and ran at Xayah who kept shooting until Karura got close enough and she used a sonic repulsion grenade to blast Karura into the cockpit.

"What's going on! Where is Jarael!" Zayne shouted while driving the ship.

"Put this thing on hover, we got a-" Karura began to say.

Xayah jumped on Karura pushing her blaster pistol to her head but before she could kill her, Zayne kicked Xayah off Karura and threw two punches into Xayah's face.

Karura ran to the controls typing and getting the ship on hover mode.

Zayne brought out his blaster pistol but Xayah shot his hand knocking it away and blasting his hand off making him yell in pain.

"I want her bounty!" Xayah shouted.

"You idiot I don't have one!" Karura yelled.

"Say's the killer from the past! I know who you are and of Alexander. I'm going to make sure you pay for the lives you took." Xayah said.

"Being some vigilant won't help your disposition." Karura growled.

"What the hell is going on!" Zayne shouted.

Xayah rolled her eyes and shot Zayne.

"Taking innocent lives, again, pot calling the kettle black." Karura said.

"You would have brainwashed these fools." Xayah said.

Karura ran at Xayah who opened fire at Karura but Karura managed to cut her blaster in half.

Xayah threw a grenade into Karura's face but Karura managed to backflip away before it exploded with another repulsion boom.

Karura suddenly heard a pinging noise of a distress call from Joker on the radio.

Xayah didn't pay it no mind and ran at Karura with two vibroblades out and swinging them around to try to strike at Karura's neck.

Karura blocked the attacks with her lightsaber and quickly spun on one foot before slicing Xayah in half.

Karura just sighed and grabbed Xayah's body and threw both parts off to the bottomless pit of Coruscant and then did the same to Zayne and Jarael's body before operating the ship herself and heading out to find Joker and following his distress signal location.

Story ends.

"And that is what happened to how I found you guys." Karura said.

Ken punched Karura across the face knocking her down and then went into his Kakuja form yelling at her.

"Ken!" Eto shouted.

Karura ignited her lightsaber putting the blade up to his face.

"What the fuck is wrong with you!" Karura shouted.

"You threw my parent's bodies out just like that!?" Ken shouted.

"I didn't have a choice! If I came to you all with their bodies in there, you would have thought I did it! It's why I decided to tell you now!" Karura shouted.

Two Raloi guards ran in with their guns aimed at Ken and Karura.

"Ken." Eto said.

Ken just sighed and dropped to his knees in tears.

Before Eto ran up to him, Karura instead sat up and hugged Ken.

"I wish I could of saved them, and I'm sorry for throwing their bodies out like that. But my mind was racing, and I have made so many mistakes. I am sorry that I couldn't save them from that twisted bitch." Karura said.

Ken gripped Karura and cried on her shoulder and she just patted his back.

Eto walked up and got on her knee's hugging Ken as well.

A few hours later, Ken was resting and Karura and Eto was outside talking.

"Why did you tell him, you could have just kept it secret forever?" Eto asked.

"Because it was the right thing to do. He would of worried about where they was. I couldn't look at him without telling him the truth. When this is over, I will spend as much time as I can looking for their bodies." Karura said.

"I don't think it matters now that Coruscant is in ruin. Their bodies are buried with the remaining trillions." Eto said.

Karura watched Eto walk off and she looked out at the sky at the fleets preparing.

"Buried." Karura sighed.

Karura thought again of the past, but this time a week ago.

Karura was standing at the chunk of the ground of Gielinor that was preserved in the Gielinor System by the Alexandrian robots.

The chunk of ground had five gravestones, one fresh and four very old ones.

Aizen's gravestone was above theirs and Karura put her hand on the dome that surrounded the chunk of ground.

The stones names, Aizen, Furido, Fuen, Fudo, Fuka on them.

Karura remembered when she was an orphan with Aizen and followed Furido and his group throughout Gielinor and then her flashback ended.

The Alexandrian robots escorted her back to a shuttle she stole.

Karura's past remembrance ended and she looked around before walking off somewhere into Stolas' palace.

Meanwhile, four medics were carrying Zayne and Jarael to safety from a medical transport that arrived from Coruscant.
