Chapter 22: Control

"Orme… you know you were supposed to be in my lab an hour and half ago?" a voice spoke. His gold eyes shot open as he looked at Bella who was bent down in front of him. He stared at the woman in a panic, his ears low. He must have passed out that means he fucked up badly! What was going to happen to Reki? Celtic felt her let go of his wrist and he looked at his arm, both were wrapped in new bandages.

"Calm down… I'm not going to punish you. You were sleeping, not like you were trying to escape or anything. Though that means you need to do something else for me now." Bella spoke as she tapped on his arm where some of the black seal markings could be seen. "I want you to unseal these marks on your arm you applied when you were fighting on the station. I'm sure you can do that." She sat down looking at him studying this fascinating lab rat.

Celtic looked where she had tapped him. He glanced at her as she pulled out a medical gun. At least he didn't fuck up, Reki was going to be fine. He moved his right hand onto his left arm. His wounds were mostly healed already; one reason he overslept, his body took the time to heal itself. He closed his eyes chanting softly under his breath knowing he was going to be in a lot of pain when he finished.

His hand glowed blue as he chanted and all of the black marks vanished off of his arms. He gritted his teeth trying to hold in his screams of pain. It felt like he had just been shot all over again except with 3 times the force. Even though there were no wounds all of the pain rushed through him. A couple of tears ran out from his eyes. Sealing up pain so he could keep going had its disadvantages; it hurt far worse when unsealed later on. Celtic curled up some from the pain. He held his chest panting from the pain that rushed through his body. He couldn't decide if it hurt worse than the last experiment this woman did to him, he doubted it.

Celtic let out a cry as Bella shot him in the arm with the medical gun. Bella then took the vial out of the gun. "Strongest pain killer we have here. Also, at that dose probably deadly so that should help." She looked at him as he seemed to be trying to fight the pain still. She slowly got up to her feet. She decided to treat him a little bit better, hoping for that 'trusting' factor people cling to in their misguided hopes. So possibly, he would let down some of his guard like he did with Reki. The labrat came across as far too trusting and naive, so in need of a friendly face that she was hoping to take advantage of that fact.

Celtic opened one of his eyes as the pain started to ease some from the drug, but still it hurt like a bitch. He closed his eyes trying to keep himself from screaming out. He might have a high pain tolerance but this was far worse than when this pain was initially done so to him he felt like he had no tolerance at all.

"Up, I'm sure you can get up and going. Let's head to the lab. I need to run my next test before the Upper catches on. I let you sleep rather than doing the test." Bella spoke up as she headed out of the room. She hoped her theory about his seals was right. She should be able to get more control over him without them. If this was true that would boost the test scores and then she could start testing on the cat girl.

Celtic used the wall to slowly get to his feet. He stumbled out of the room as he looked at Bella who was already heading to the lab. Celtic rubbed his arm lightly trying to pamper it some so it might hurt less. He knew more pain was coming from whatever she shot into his temple earlier; a pain he wasn't even sure he could endure again. Celtic stopped as he stared at a man who walked down the hall stopping in front of him.

The man had brown hair and he was covered in black tattoos. Around his eyes were bandages that covered his sight. He wore a white hakama that had some markings on it. He paused next to Celtic. "Miss.. if I may speak to him alone for a moment?" the man called out.

Bella turned back and looked at the man; he was one of the Elites and from what she could discern he was probably the 'leader' of the group. She could tell the man was completely blind yet his hearing and other abilities allowed him to see in another sense. "Yes, of course. Orme, when done go to that lab up there." She pointed to a nearby lab she was headed to.

Celtic nodded and then he looked at the man in front of him as his ears went low. It seemed his old comrades were here, he figured the government assigned them there thinking Brat's crew might come and rescue her. So they probably all knew that he was an immortal though he was nothing more than a labrat now. He wondered what he was wanting. He sighed, not sure what to even say to him.

"Seems you finally stood up for something. Actually, it happened sooner than I thought it would. You did love her and she the same." The man spoke looking in the direction where Celtic was standing. "As I told you before you need to learn who you are and what you believe in. Just what you stand for. I'm sure for once in your life you felt like you accomplished something when you stood up against the government, felt like you were finding out who you are. Though... I told you when you did that.. we would be enemies from that point on. I will no longer hold back against you." The man instilled as he started to walk down the hall. "Rhea was your replacement, it seems the government expected that you would eventually try to bail, since your wife did."

Celtic stared at him as he walked away. Rhea took his spot? They were preparing for this day for a while then To them, Rhea would have been a lot stronger and a better resource. Celtic shook his head confused, even after all that's gone down Endra was still on that kick about being who you are. He seemed to always be with the Elites just because he could, like it made him feel special. Still, he always had his 'wisdom' to share with them though it came across rather hypocritical; sounding like a warning; more or less get out while you have the chance. Celtic looked to the lab door as he stopped in front of it, trying to push the pain out of his mind. He needed to not let his mind wander and let Reki end up dead by him lingering. He walked into the room.

Bella walked up to the other scientists talking to them. She pointed at Celtic. "Go and sit on the ground there." She knew that he was going to be in pain, so he should just start out on the ground instead of ending up there. She grabbed her medical gun along with the vial. She walked up to Celtic loading it. Bending down she looked into his gold eyes. "You already know this is going to hurt even with that pain medication I gave you. I did what I could so just try to relax and don't fight it." She spoke as she moved the gun to his temple and shot it.

Celtic moved his hands to his head as the pain thrashed through it. He let out a scream of pain as he held his head. The pain from his arms and now this was more than he could take. He closed his eyes wishing the pain would just stop or he would pass out. His mind was washed over by the pain from the shot and by his old wounds that he was forced to unsealed.

Bella watched as he let out shrills of pain. Soon he was quiet lying on his side on the ground. Bella stooped down next to him shining a light into his eyes to see if he was still there. "Orme, can you say something?"

Celtic blinked a couple of times. Everything was a blur. He could only partially make out what she was saying. "Y-yeah…" He spoke weakly. Everything in his head felt heavy while in a full spin. It felt like everything in his mind was funneling down some tunnel of emptiness. He closed his eyes as he slowly moved his arms up over his eyes to try to find a little relief. He was breathing heavy as the pain lingered, though it was affecting him it seemed to be so far away at the same time. It seemed to be nothing more than an annoying fly.

Bella watched his reaction and then put her hand on his head checking to see if he had a fever. She sighed some as a bit of relief. She examined the rest of his body to see if there was any reaction to the drug. She got up and looked to her assistants to see if she got the ok. Once they gave her the thumbs up, she looked back at Celtic. "I command you to get to your feet and kill Reki". She spoke coldly to Celtic to see how he was going to react.

Celtic's heart raced as he felt his body seem to move on its own. Slowly, his body got to its feet and started to head to the door. Celtic yelled out in a cry as he hit into the wall as he held his head. He shook his head as he was trying to fight his own body. He couldn't let himself do it; he would fight whatever it was that they put in him.

Bella walked up to him. "Sit on the ground now…" Bella watched him slide down the wall. She was surprised that Reki had this entire project done; the problem was he was encrypting it all for who knows how long. So now they needed to break all of his encryptions and they would have it. Reki was truly a genius so much as he hated the project but the puzzle meant more as his mind needed the challenge of it so he had to solve it, though he was trying to cover up his tracks. "I thought I said don't fight it… though it proves your body is doing something clearly you don't want it to do." Bella bent down studying Celtic.

Celtic was looking away holding the side of his head as he rested it against the wall. He hated the feeling that was running through him, as if his body wasn't even his own at this point. He felt like his mind was being dragged down under all consciousness. He glanced at Bella. He hated the command she kept asking of him to kill Reki.

Bella chuckled. "Just so you know, I'm not going to make you kill your friend. He is needed as much as you are, for now. I'm just testing. Just need to make sure that the formula is working by asking you to do something that you're absolutely committed against." She spoke as she wrote down a few things on a piece of paper. "Well,I believe you need a break." She held out a piece of paper to him. "You can go back to Reki's room. Reki has a fridge in there I would get some food if I were you."

Celtic looked at the piece of paper and took it. "C-can I ask a request?" he asked her not making any eye contact with her. His heart prayed that he might get something from this woman. She didn't seem as heartless as the rest.

Bella looked at him a bit surprised for him to be asking a request, since he really wasn't in a position to even be requesting. "I guess it depends what it is and if it's in my power." Celtic looked at her his ears low. "If anyone comes to try to save me or Brat, please don't make me kill any of them. I can fight them; hold them back from their mission I just don't want to kill any of them." He couldn't take killing Autum, Eznik, Link or any of Brat's crew. If he remembered right about Eznik's stories they were all teenagers, just kids. He also knew they all probably were going to risk everything to try to save Brat. As for him hopefully, he was nothing more than a memory. He had told Eznik to tell Autum he was gone.

Bella got up to her feet. It seems he wanted not to shed the blood of his friends. The reports she had on him said that he avoided killing anyone if he could. He was a very conscientious, demon or whatever he was, she thought.."I'll see what I can do. Go get something to eat and rest." Though he didn't have a clue, they wouldn't want to kill them, they all would be lab rats, whoever came here to try to save them. She rather not tell him that at least this way it looked like she kept her word. It seemed playing the little 'trustful' good person' was working with this lab rat. She heard he was naive but she knew not how much until this moment. It didn't take that much to make her appear like a good person to him, it didn't take all that long for him to hand over some of his trust. Good, she thought for it meant she would have much more push with him.

Celtic looked at her and slowly got up to his feet. His legs gave out from under him. He let out a small whelp as he sat on the ground. He looked at his legs and then to Bella as she bent down. She pulled out a device moving it over his legs. "Your fine, you just need to rest. Your legs are just going through the changes." "Get a couple of guards in here to help him back to Reki's room." she instructed the other two scientists in the room. She walked over to a computer and grabbed a disk and headed out of the room. She knew with these results that she was going to get to test it on that beast.

Oskal looked up from his desk. "Took you longer than I believe you said it would." he spoke as he looked at the files Bella dropped onto his desk. He opened up the file and leaned back skimming through it.

"Your son Reki is truly a genius; he never once did any testing but he has the entire thing done. We just have to figure out how to decrypt everything he has. As for the testing, successful for the most part, I would like permission to try it on Brat with a little bit of fixes to the formula." Bella pitched as she stood at his desk.

Skimming the last pages of the papers he looked up at her. "Do it, but I want you to do it to the beast side. No point of doing it on her other side, because the beast side seems to just be instinct so should be easier to manipulate." Oskal tossed the file back on the desk. "What about Orme, his condition?"

"He needs an hour or so of rest and he should be fine. His body seems to heal up rather fast. I sent him back to Reki's room." Bella reported her mind more on her prize. She looked at him as he got up.

"After your tweaks with your formula meet me in the lab, I want to see how well this works on her. Shouldn't take too long right?" he questioned as he walked past her. He glanced back at her as she nodded. "I'll expect you in 20 minutes." He headed down the hall.

Bella nodded as she smirked as she headed back to her lab. She needed to hurry and fix what was wrong with the formula; well what she believed was wrong with it. She finally got to play her cards on the girl. She had her own grudge against the girl so getting to experiment on her had been her goal all along.

Oskal walked into the medical wing as his eyes trailed to his son. He looked at Dr. Brendon who was sitting in his chair reading. "Wake him up." He ordered the doctor as he walked up to the bed. He glanced at Brendon who went to get a medical gun.

"You know that he is going to be in a lot of pain. So do you want me to give him the cure so he will be able to talk or just something to wake him up?" Brendon asked as he looked through the vials on the shelf. He glanced back at Oskal who waved his hand at Brendon. "Get the cure also then something to put him to sleep after I chat with him."

Brendon nodded as he grabbed a pink vial off the shelf. Loading up the gun he walked up to Reki shooting him in the side. His attention went to the machines to make sure that his vitals were fine. He glanced at Reki who let out a groan.

Reki moved his hand to his head. "Damn…" He spoke quietly as he looked up at the ceiling; he knew that he was in the medical bay. It still was hard to breath. He sat up slowly, his attention went to his father as he leaned back against the pillows. "What a pleasant visit…" Reki growled at his father, still feeling a bit woozy.

Oskal held up the files that Bella brought him and tossed it on Reki's lap. "According to Bella you have the entire thing done, it's only time till we have it all figured out. I'm in a good mood so I'm going to give you a choice. Either you decrypt all of the files now. Then I won't use it on you and I'll make sure that your little friend has a bit of humanity left to remember who you are so you can chat still. If you pick the other well, I'll use it on you. From there on out you will be a good little scientist and I promise I'll make sure you do every experiment on Orme. What more I'll make sure that you keep your conscience as well so you will feel the guilt of it all."

Reki didn't look at his father as he explained his little proposition. Reki tossed the file back not looking at it. "I won't decrypt it, also if you think you have all my files you're wrong. You're right, I do have it finished but I made sure you or anyone else won't ever get their hands on those files." Reki let out a cry as Oskal slammed his head back against the wall holding him there.

"If you think you're going to keep me from completing this, you're wrong Reki. I can have you killed right here and Orme will never know either. He will be a loyal dog doing my every command still." Oskal threatened as he let go of Reki. "If you think you can hide something on this ship you're wrong, but thank you for telling me there's more." He looked at Brendon. "Do it.." He snapped as he walked out of the room. He needed to find the rest of those files.

Reki looked at Brendon as he went to shoot him with the medical gun. Reki grabbed his arm and punched him in the face. He stumbled off the bed trying to keep his balance. He panted some; his body was nowhere near ready to be out running about. He looked back at Brendon as he fell to the door. Reki stumbled into someone his heart raced as he looked to whom he had walked into. He let out a small cry as he was punched in the face hitting the ground.

Oskal looked down at Reki who was glaring at him. "If you think you're going to get a chance to destroy your file you're wrong. You should have taken my deal." He glanced at Brendon who shot Reki from behind. "You should pay more attention to your patients.." Oskal remarked as he walked out of the room.

Reki watched his father walk away as everything went dark. At least he knew the files were safe; Celtic had them and didn't even know it. There was a reason he called it his lucky lighter. He knew if anything they would end up throwing away the files before they realized what they even did.

Bella looked at the white beast as it growled in its glass-like cage. A grin covered Bella's face. She was going to get to test it on this creature. She was going to enjoy this test seeing it in pain. She glanced at the door as Oskal walked into the room. She headed up to him with the medical gun.

Oskal looked at her knowing that she was eager to test her formula. He knew of her grudge against Brat as well. His guess this wasn't the true formula due to the parts his son had apparently kept hidden. He took the medical gun. "After this test I want a strip search of this station, starting with the rooms where Reki hung out. According to him we don't have everything." He glanced at Bella as he walked up to the cage.

Bella glanced at him. It seemed that he woke up on his own just to talk to him. She shook her head at the thought of just waking up his son to get info. Didn't matter, his son was just a tool, nothing more. She glanced at him as he walked up to the tube opening it up as the white beast growled.

"Don't move." he spoke to the beast as it growled. He studied the new set of 'pet' collars on her. He shot it into the back of her head. He backed up as the beast snapped at him as it roared out in pain. It clawed at its head ripping into its own skin fighting the collars and the formula.

Oskal watched the beast as it stopped clawing at itself. It looked at him and backed up and fell off of the small platform it was on. Oskal looked at Bella a bit curious of how the beast was reacting. It was off, instead the primal kill instinct, it seemed to be afraid like a dog that had been kicked one too many times.

Walking around the tube he looked at the beast. The beast was on the ground licking at its paws. Its attention turned to Oskal, its ears went down and it let out a low growl backing up but fell on its rear.

Oskal smirked as he studied the beast. It no longer had green eyes, they were brown. It no longer had its true aggression like it normally did. He ran through his mind what this meant. "It seems we have our redhead back, isn't that right, Brat?" he chuckled looking at the beast. Oh this girl was even more of a mystery and it was just getting better and better. He looked at Bella. "I want another one of those formulas. I want to know if that will bring back the beast."

Brat slowly got up backing up from the two. She glanced back at her body still not sure what was going on. All she knew that she was in the beast's body that she feared so much. She looked back at them as Bella walked off. She growled at Oskal as he leaned up against the tube. Though she truly thought she was shouting at him. She looked to the ring he pulled out of his pocket as he fiddled with it.

Oskal ran everything through his head. It seemed all the pet collar settings were reset. Very interesting, yet odd that they would reset. "Sit, no biting or resisting." He walked up to Brat who was growling as she was shocked and sat down. She looked at the ground growling knowing that she was at the bastard's mercy unless she fought against the 'pet' collars.

Bending down in front of Brat he held the ring in front of her. "It seems you are full of all sorts of little surprises, aren't you?." He smirked as Brat let out a low growl as he pocketed the ring. He then grabbed her jaw, opening her mouth looking in it. He moved his finger down her fangs glancing at Brat who was uncomfortable from him holding her mouth open. She pulled her head from him, growling. She stared into his eyes when he let go of her. "You're going to be my obedient little kitty cat."

Trying to clench her 'fist' she could feel her claws come out. She did the first thing that came to mind. She pounced on him and dug her claws into his chest. She growled out as he yelled out in pain. She jumped off him looking for the door. Freedom, an open door. She started to run for it.

"Lay down and don't move!" Oskal snapped as he closed his eyes holding his chest. Some of the scientists ran up to him to aid him. He opened his eyes as he was shot in the side with a medical gun to help with the pain as they held cloths over his bleeding wounds His eyes looked over to Brat who was on the ground growling. She was trying to get up, fighting the pain from the collars. So close to escaping this room, she thought maybe if she could find that demon who was trying to help her.

Brat let out a small cry as she laid on the ground not moving. She closed her eyes wanting to keep fighting, but the pain was too much for her. She flailed as she felt someone step on her tail hard. She let out a wail of pain.

Bella looked down at Brat as she stood on her tail. This damn girl took what was precious from her once and she wouldn't let her take Oskal from her. She brushed her bangs out of her face and walked over to Oskal who was gradually getting to his feet. "You want me to run the test still?" she asked him knowing he would want to finish this even with his wounds.

Oskal nodded. "I want the full write up." he spat angrily as he looked at Brat. "You will listen to what Bella here commands you to. You are not allowed to bite or attack her either." he spoke as he started to walk out of the room. He refused the help from the scientist. He wanted to get to the medical wing and get real help.

Bella smirked as she looked at Brat. What more the girl was aware that meant she would get punished more. Walking up to Brat she bent down putting her hand on Brat's head patting her.

"I doubt you remember all the people who you killed." She spoke coldly. "You killed my two kids on that station. My precious children, you fiend!" She grabbed Brat's fur tight in her hand making Brat cry some. "I'm going to make sure you are here till you die. And you will kill everyone you care about; your crew, your father and whoever your lover is" she snapped at her as she slammed her head onto the ground. "Get onto the platform." she snapped at Brat knowing she finally gets her chance with the beast that killed her children.
