Link sighed as he sat down next to Gotenoo. He looked at her wishing he had been there. Maybe he could've done something to help. He glanced at Navi who jumped onto the bed looking at the young girl. She looked at Link with her ears low.
"You ok, Navi?" Link questioned her. He knew she had to feel like she could have protected them better, feeling responsible. Navi bit her lip looking at Gotenoo. "Just... I knew something was going to go wrong. I could feel it, what if.." before she could finish Link put his finger to her lips.
Link shook his head "There was nothing you could've done to change what happened." The hero looked at her as he was trying to convince himself the same. Link looked to Zigor and sighed. "All we have now to worry about is how we are going to save the rest of them. We can't worry ourselves with what we could have done then. Don't think I didn't want to be there and feel bad about being left behind. But we can't change what happened, just fix it." The teen spoke up trying to cheer his little friend and himself.
Navi looked at Link and smiled weakly. They were all once again going into that station. She felt her heart jump at just the thought of it. This time, her dear friend Link would be going to that death trap as well. She didn't even want to think about all that went wrong and all that could still go wrong..
A woman with green hair walked in. She was the healer from before. Smiling at the two she walked up to Gotenoo. She checked to make sure Gotenoo didn't have a fever. She didn't use technology much with her medical ways. She looked at the two visitors. "They are doing fine so you two don't have to worry."
Link nodded a little and sighed. He looked to the ground. How were they really going to stand a chance going there? The group left and only two of them came back and were badly injured. His eyes trailed to Navi who was watching the woman who was checking on Zigor.
"Sir, you ok?" The woman spoke up as she walked up to Link. She bent down looking at him. "er.. yeah.." He spoke weakly. Shaking her head she grabbed the chair nearby. "No you aren't my dear. Your face says everything you want to say, child." She sat down looking at him and then to Navi. "You will be fine, both of you. As for your friends who were captured, I'm sure they will be fine as well. By these two wounds they wanted them alive. I doubt they would keep them alive just to kill them. They are all strong willed people right? So they will fight to live. You don't have to worry about them. All you have to do is get your hearts into saving them. When you get there they will be waiting" she smiled to them.
Link smiled weakly wishing what she said would be true. He just prayed they would get there in time. Looking over to Navi who was trying to smile was well. Their attention went to the door at a blonde who was standing there, next to her a young girl who looked to be about 5.
"Come on you two let's get this little show on the road." Link eyed the blonde, the voice sounded like Miles but she didn't look anything like herself. His guess it was the whole makeup thing was the reason behind it.
"Come on daddy" the little girl laughed. She walked up to Link smiling. She eyed Link studying him. She grabbed his arm. "Come on, you can't get all down. You need to be in a good mood to act." The girl smiled at him. She tugged on his hand for him to follow.
Link eyed her, was this really that shape shifter? It was so odd to see that her height could really change that much. He looked at Miles at the door. He was led by the young girl looking back at Navi who flew up and landed on his shoulder.
"Alright Navi, Juraj is staying behind to help you with teleporting. He already got a small group outside to work with." Miles explained as she pushed her now blonde hair out of her eyes. She hated her hair not braided but she needed it different.
Navi shook her head. "I thought he was going with you and Link." She questioned Miles. "Nah, someone else wanted to get a couple of errands done on the station we are going to. This way that we can get two things accomplished with one trip with limited supplies it's the best thing we can do." Miles spoke up. Also this way she didn't have to deal with his bitching.
The group split their two separate ways. Navi went to learn to teleport a group as for Link went to go play house on a large scale.
Navi appeared next to Juraj looking at him and then to the group. She stared at the group, it was children. All of the children were wearing tattered clothing and hand me downs. Jaraj looked at her. "Well you ready?"
Navi shook her head. This was the well-mannered group? She eyed him and shrugged. "I guess." She looked at him and he chuckled. "Go, Navi's it." He spoke up and all of the children started to run off screaming and laughing. "You got to teleport them back here one by one without touching them." He looked at her. "We will start simple and then go to more complex." He planned a series of little drills that would hopefully expand Navi's range and ability faster.
Navi frowned. "Wha?" She shook her head vanishing. She appeared to the first kid and smirked. She appeared next to Jaraj, but the child missing. She looked next to her. "er.. hm.." She shook her head and vanished.
Jaraj walked over to his chair and sat down pulling out his computer typing on it. He knew this might take a bit. He glanced up as he watched the fairy appear childless again. He assumed a moving target would be a harder target to teleport, so a child would be a perfect target, since they never stop moving.
Link eyed Quou it really bothered him that she looked just like a little kid. It was too strange. He squirmed a little as Miles sat down next to him and leaned up against him. He looked at Miles. "er.." Mile chuckled a little. "Alright Link." She got off of him. "I'm going to be very clingy, got it? I'm your girlfriend so you have to act like you like it; like it's just normal. If you squirm and twist it will be a dead give away that we aren't what we are presenting. You are to be a bit stern.. rather protective of me, but don't worry, Quou will mostly guide you. I will be talking to my brother and the lawyer alone. So don't worry about that, if an issue comes up that the lawyer might ask you something before we go, well, whatever he asks you will want to tell him it all comes down to me." Miles pointed at herself.
Quou chuckled. "It's all about the girlfriend you will find someday and acting it out now.." She laughed. "I'll drag you to some store alright so we can stay out of the way." She looked at Link. "I'm going to be calling you daddy, so no freaking out about that either. You instead enjoying the idea you're a father. Also... Never break character" She pointed her finger at Link. "A great actor goes on with the show even if something bad happens, even if it appears his cover has been broken." Quou lectured him.
Mile chuckled as she listened to Quou lecture Link about theater and acting. That's how she ended up meeting Quou, held her hostage yet Quou never broke character. It was clear this is what Quou lived for.
Link's ears went low as he looked at her. He nodded as he rubbed his ear a little. He fiddled with one of the earrings that were hurting him. He winced as Quou grabbed his arm. "One more time you mess with it... You will wake up with a permanent one." Link looked down to the ground wishing Navi was there. Why was he stuck with the women?
Miles got up walking up to the pilot. "You got an hour to get supplies and then we are off. I don't want to linger too long there." She explained. She glanced back at Link. She smirked a little, it had been a while since she did anything like this. She was a tad excited about she always told Quou when it came to something big she would let her be part of it. Though she was sure if Quou's husband found out about this little mission she would get in a lot of trouble.
Quou got up and looked at Link. "Come now, you only got to survive till we are just earrings. Once we get to the shuttle I will take them off." She smiled at him. "Quou, when does your husband get back?"
Quou looked at Miles. She shrugged "He was supposed to be back by now, but you know him. He probably trying to recruit knowing him." she chuckled a little. She leaned back glancing at Link who was still looking at the ground. Quou put her hand on his shoulder. "Cheer up, we are all doing our best to get your friends back." she smiled at him.
Link looked at her. He shook his head a little. "This feels to be a waste of time. I don't understand what this has to do with rescuing my friends?" He looked to Miles. "I mean why do we have to go all the way out there dressed up as someone we're not? I don't see the point in all of this." He didn't get this all. They had all of this technology yet here they were all playing dress up for information.
Miles let out a sigh, it seemed he didn't grasp what all was involved here. "My brother works for the government who we are going to be breaking into. He doesn't want to lose his job there. So we are sneaking out information. So we can't use phones or any type of computer as that is always traceable.. This all has to be person to person. With me and my brother we have keywords so we can talk though it will appear we are having a normal conversation. Such as the demon you are, that tells him time is not our side. So keep it short as possible. If he is wearing a tie, it means he doesn't believe it's safe on the station. These are just small bits and pieces of what I and he set up." She explained the best she could.
Link rubbed his head. It went down to even someone wearing a tie could mean something? He looked at Miles, this was confusing. He at least got the idea why they couldn't just use the technology and they couldn't just say it to one another even in person. The walls had ears, as Eznik put it. He seemed so out of place in all of this. He was still grasping to understand all the complexities and deviations.
Quou got up. "You better get your mind in the right place, Link." She smiled at him. "We are going to be there soon." She walked out of the room to make sure she was ready herself.
Navi sat on one of the kids' heads as she tried to figure out what she was doing wrong. "What are you doing?" Ask the little girl as she looked up trying to see the fairy on her head. "I mean Jaraj said you weren't allowed to touch us."
Navi sighed as she laid back on the kids head "Trying to figure this out, feels like I'm missing something." She jerked as the kid grabbed her. The girl moved Navi's into her view smiling "Well maybe you should make a ball of energy around the person you want. So that way your energy is touching someone. That's what some species do to attack or trap people; they use their energy. And they can even kill people that way with their mind." She explained as she let go of Navi.
Navi shuttered at the thought of someone killing someone with just their mind. If it was back at home she would just assume the kid was making up stories, but here who knows. She glanced away trying to think of what the kid was talking about. "Well how would you make a ball of energy around someone?" she quizzed the child.
The girl giggled and tapped her own head. "You pretend! Energy is better channeled through your mind and what you want. So close your eyes and pretend you see a bubble around someone then touch the ball and you did it!"
Navi frowned it seemed ridiculous but she had no better idea so she went for it. She closed her eyes trying to imagine some giant ball around the little girl. She opened one of her eyes to make sure the girl was still there. After a few Navi held out her hand and vanished. She appeared next to Jaraj again who was sitting on his laptop. "AH" Navi held her head still with no child.
Jaraj glanced at Navi and started typing again. "How am I supposed to do this" Navi flew up and stood on the keyboard looking up at him. Her ears were low; she was at a loss at this whole thing. She didn't have a clue how to do it. She had tried everything she could think of.
Jaraj looked at her. "I don't have a clue. Can you sense people?" He questioned her. He would have to break up her powers logically to try to give her any hint how to be able to do this." Watching her nod he glanced up thinking. "So combine that with energy manipulationā¦" he muttered as he was trying to figure this out.
"Well." He looked down at her. "I would assume what you're sensing in someone is their soul or energy itself. That means you should be able to toss your own energy around it and try to touch their energy so you are touching them in a sense."
Navi stared at him. It just seemed to be a more complex thing than what the little girl was telling her. She sat down on the keyboard resting her head on her hands. She failed completely at that. Even Jaraj was more or less saying the same thing.
"Up, off the keyboard you're ruining what I've been typing." Jaraj spoke up as he stood up. Once she flew off of it he set it on his chair. He looked to what he was working on and sighed, joy now he needed to delete what she messed up. His attention went to the lost faerie. "Ugh, this isn't anywhere close to my specialty." He explained as he rubbed the side of his head. The kids were probably better off explaining this to her. "Let's go talk to Kris, she knows more about energy than I do." waving her to follow him.
Jaraj lead Navi to a small rickety house. Bringing his hand to the door he paused for a moment as he glanced around as if he was rethinking this move. He then lighty knocked on the door "Kris, I need you please." They waited and finally the door opened. A woman with bright red and yellow hair that was pulled back in a tail walked out onto the small broken down porch. She had red markings that covered her skin. Accompanying her was a black stately dog with slick fur. It had gold markings on its fur. Its ears were long and standing up. It had the resemblance of the god Anubis.
Kris was dressed in a robe. She let out a small yawn. It was obvious that they had woken her up. "What do you want?" she questioned him in a slightly irritated tone. She glanced at the faerie. She had no clue what the flying little person was but neither did she care..
"If you wouldn't mind showing off some of your energy abilities and explain a little to Navi here just how they work it would be much appreciated." Jaraj requested. Kris rubbed her eyes as she was trying to wake some. "If I may so ask why this couldn't wait till I woke up?" She patted her dog on the head as it sat down next to her.
Jaraj sighed. "Time isn't on our time, Kris. I'll explain everything later." Kris shook her head. "Whatever." she barked as she walked off her small dilapidated porch away from her small house into an open area of what one would consider her front yard. Her dog followed her. Navi looked at Jaraj. "She doesn't seem too happy with you." He shook his head. "She doesn't like being woken up is all." Navi shook her head thinking that it was in the morning hours this woman should be awake.
Kris looked at the two who were chatting. "Come on, stop tittle-tattling. I would like to get this over with and go back to sleep." Kris sputtered a little perturbed as she was on a different sleep schedule. She was on the night watch, so now she was going to get less sleep. She waited for them to get closer deciding on what she wanted to even show this little flying person. She let out a small whistle to her dog who moved away from her.
"Let's keep this simple, shall we? My energy works by me manipulating my aura as I like to call it, the energy that encircles me; that radiates from me. Using thought, intention, focus and other bull shit I can do this." She held up her left hand and a red barrier could be seen around the woman and then it burst into flames.
Navi stared at the fire that seemed to come from out nowhere yet burned nothing and with that it was gone. Navi flew up to the woman and shook her head. "How did you do that?" she asked, trying to grasp what happened there.
Kris sighed realizing that she wasn't going back to sleep any time soon as she rubbed her eyes some more. "Ugh, where to even start." Kris groaned as she looked at the faerie. "Everyone has an aura, energy whatever you want to call it. Some species are able to manipulate it. You have to be able to focus your thoughts onto manipulating it. With practice it requires less focus." She held up her hand and a flame appeared in it.
Navi backed up looking at it. Her eyes trailed to the woman as the woman watched her seeing if she picked up on any of this. Kris shook her head, "Why do you want to know?" she questioned as all the fire faded away. She was still a little ruffled by this interruption to her sleep cycle. Looking at the two of them as they glanced at each other.
"I need to know how to work with this aura so I can teleport people." Navi spoke up. She watched the woman turn and walk away back into her house. Once her dog was in the house she slammed the door shut. Navi winced and looked at Jaraj. " Did I say something wrong?"
Jaraj shook his head, he knew when he went there that Kris was going to be pissy as all knew she didn't like to be bothered when she was trying to get her so-called beauty sleep, but he felt like she would still help them. "I'm sure she wanted to change out of her robes." They waited patiently as time passed. Jaraj started to question if he was even right. He glanced at Navi who was sitting on his shoulder now.
Kris just then walked out. She had on pants and a tight tank top. She had a mug with her and she took a drink of it. Pointing at Juraj as she took a swig of her drink. "You get to take my shift one night for helping." she advocated as she started to walk towards a small garden. Her dog trotted next to her. It seemed her dog stayed close to her side and went with her everywhere she went.
The two of them followed her. "I'll take a shift after I'm done with the mission I'm helping with." he offered, well, he thought if he came back he would. Jaraj stopped as they reached the garden. He wasn't entirely sure what she had planned.
"You can run off, Jaraj. I'm sure you have more useful things to do then watch us two make fun with energy." Kris expressed as she looked at him. As he walked away, Kris turned her attention to Navi.. "First off, what exactly are you?" Kris inquired..
Navi looked at her not sure what she meant. She glanced back at Jaraj but he was out of view. Alone with a stranger, it seemed that's how this all was going to go. "A dimensional faerie?" she said not sure if she was answering it right as she turned her attention back to Kris. She watched Kris scratch her head and shake her head a little. "Well better than what I would of called you. Never seen a little flying person before."
Flying person? Well that was new, Navi thought then again a lot of people seemed to be more surprised at just seeing her. It was clear that she was rare just as a faerie, even more so as a dimensional one. Her attention went back to Kris who walked up picking up a flower. "Over here." She spoke up to Navi. The dog lay down in the flowers and rolled some.
Navi flew up to her while looking at the dog. Being on a planet seemed so different than all of the cold metal ships she had been on. Her attention went to the flower that Kris was holding. The flower looked barely alive. She looked to the garden, a lot of the garden looked to be barely surviving. "Can you sense the life force from this flower?" Kris asked, watching the faerie closely.
Looking to the flower and then to Kris. She nodded a little, at least it seemed she might get somewhere with this Kris. "Everything has a life force, even the cold steel of a blade or a ship. The only question is how sensitive you are to those energies. Ships and metals are very hard to sense their force, but a fragile flower is very easy. Any living creature you can easily feel the energy that is around them." She held the flower to Navi who took it.
Kris took another drink from her mug. She then bending down she set the mug on the ground. Stretching some as she still was trying to wake up. She still had 6 more hours of sleep shook her head best not she think of it. Besides she was sure with Jaraj waking her, he probably had a good reason or he wouldn't have. And having someone who could teleport would aid them all. Easy to get them all somewhere safe quickly.
Navi held the flower. She looked to Kris who slowly sat on the ground. Her dog laid down next to her and watched Navi closely. Navi appeared in front of her standing on the ground. Setting the flower on the ground she looked up at Kris. "So? What now?"
The dog let out a whimper as Navi appeared. Kris patted him on the head, it seemed the teleporting was true. "It's fine Anu, she is ok". Navi watched the dog response and then looked up to Kris.
"We meditate. Only a calm and clear mind can see what others can't." Kris instructed. She looked over to her mug as she let out a yawn. "Plus by yours and Jaraj's expressions you both looked stressed and even though I'm still half asleep I can feel the distress and urgency in your energies. Such won't help you learn to see auras and such."
Navi sighed as she plopped down on the ground looking at the flower. It felt wrong trying to meditate. She should be doing something more, who knows what was happening to the others. She closed her eyes trying not to think about the ones who were caught.
Kris rubbed her eyes a little as she tried to get herself in the mindset to meditate. "Ok⦠ok.." She rattled on trying to convince herself that she was ready. "Sit down straight." Kris spoke up as she looked to Navi, who clearly had her mind adrift. "Hey little one. Whatever your mind is on isn't going to help you here."
Navi looked up at her. Her face expressed the sadness she felt. She looked away from Kris. Doubt and guilt filled her. She twisted as she was picked up. Kris picked her up and set her down on her hand. "No tears are going to fix what is wrong, and guilt fixes nothing either. I don't know what has happened to you, but you came to me for help. I want to help you but I'm not the type who is going to take away your sadness. You have to do that on your own. Take control."
Navi looked down. "I'm sorry." She spoke quietly as she rubbed her eyes. Kris let out a sigh of frustration. This wasn't her forte, dealing with people's emotions. "Close your eyes. Take a deep breath." She appealed quietly. "Breathe in the air of the planet. Feel its energy close to you. Feel it filling you. Helping you calm your sadness. Helping to make it all fade away, releasing it."
Slowly Navi could feel some relief from the sadness. She focused on Kris' voice as she spoke quietly, guiding her through the meditation. She felt at peace; safe. The worries she had fading away as hope was restored as she went on this spiritual journey.
