Charlotte felt alone for the first time in a long time, even at the company she had Kai to talk to but now as her plane taxied to the runway she had no one apart from a small drone Kai had sent yet even that was gone as it had dematerialized into her IS "Oh, Kai you gave me the wings to fly yet papa has caged me" Charlotte sighed before she closed her eyes and slept for her journey would be much longer than 12 hours.

Kai sat there in front of his computer and started to design a vest for Charlotte to wear as the bindings she had to wear could not be comfortable, while that had been the main point of the vest he ended up making the vest a stripped down version of his own as while he removed the PIC thrusters and had made the Quantum conversion storage smaller he had included a far more powerful Coreless Absolute Defence shield and a deployable Medical/defensive drone yet he felt as if something was missing so he added expansion slots and after creating the vest and several diverse modules he packed them into a Yellow box with a Baby Blue velvet cloth covering the insides and folded the cloth to cover the new additions to the box "And now I have a gift for Charlotte" Kai smiled.

-A month passed before Kai could get transferred to the ISA as Charlottes personal engineer-

Kai stumbled of the plane nearly falling down the metal staircase but was able to grab the rail before that happened and so he stepped down the stairs before jumping the last ten and rolled to a standing position before he picked up his several black suitcases, duffle bags, a metal fight case, and the Yellow box yet as he made his way towards the airport security he saw a scuffle brake out between a guard and a man who had been pulled aside. Sighing to himself Kai ran over and using his height and surprising strength advantage he lifted the aggressive man off the guard, who quickly got up and cuffed the man who had fallen still under Kais grip on his neck.

After recovering his luggage and exchanging a couple thanks with the guard Kai spotted a couple of women waiting for him, he could tell this due to the cartoonish sign the green haired woman was holding that said 'Kai Chopping' holding back a small laugh Kai went over to the pair and introduced himself "Hello, My name is Kai Chopin, like the musician, et vous deux belles dames?" he said slipping from Japanese and into French.

Yet to his surprise the black hair woman, who looked more like a business woman than a teacher answered back in perfect French that her name was Chifuyu Orimura and the other woman was Maya Yamada. Upon hearing this, a smile formed on his lips "So you are the ones looking after Mr Dunois" Kai bowed politely "Merci, Merci beaucoup" He said smiling. Chifuyu placed a hand on his shoulder and said "Je vous en prie, now please follow us" switching back to Japanese as a very confused Maya struggled to follow what happened.

And so the Trio walked with Kai asking a few question here and there, ranging from the names of Charles friends and what subjects he was struggling into a general history on the ISA and what foods they liked the most from France, yet Kai also answered just as many questions from Maya and Chifuyu, while Mayas were more casual such as, what Kais favourite colour was and what books he enjoyed reading while Chifuyu's questions were much more formal ranging from questions about IS development to the possibility of IS systems still being active while the IS was in standby mode. By the time they got to Academy both parties had a clearer view of each other and after being shown to the staff rooms, dorms, and maintenance bay Kai excused himself to set up his tools promising to meet up with them back at the staffroom on the third floor.

Now alone Kai opened his bags revealing them all to be tools and equipment solely for the Rafael Revive Custom 2 but from the metal fight case came the weirdest device as it was a full body scanner for measuring aptitude and physical health. Once done the only personal effect on Kais station was a photo of Charlotte, her mother and Albert, of course the photo Had been edited so Charlotte was Charles and so Albert was there as well.

A few minutes later Kai was sitting in the staffroom going through his contract with Chifuyu who was nice enough to get Kai a French version of the contract "Excuse me, here is says 'that members of staff are not to have any form of relationship to or with students' but I already have a platonic relation with Charles as I am practically his family as I have known him since he was born?" Kai asked just for Chifuyu to look knowingly at him "As long as it is nothing more than platonic then it is okay as you have known him before his admittance to here" she said as Kai nodded and signed at the bottom of the page "May I give him a gift, I was meant to give it to him before he left but was not able to" Kai said thinking about the Yellow box and to his surprise he got a nod "Merci, oh and before I forget do I have to pay for coffee here or is it free?" he asked quickly only to get a soft laugh from Chifuyu "Its free, how do you think we function?" She said smiling "Mon dieu, tu es très jolie quand tu souris." Kai slipped by accident causing Chifuyu to blush slightly. "Now your arrival will not be announced to all the students but we will inform Charles that you are here" She explained "About that, would it be permitted for me to do that myself?" Kai asked again to just get a nod.

"Merci" Kai smiled back as Chifuyu stood, "I have to go but feel free to walk the grounds just make sure you wear your ID badge "Oui, Meci Mademoiselle Orimura" He said as he stood up himself and made it to the door before her and held it open for Chifuyu to walk through "Merci beaucoup" Chifuyu said as she passed Kai who followed her out "Mademoiselle Orimura, would it be rude to ask for your number as well as Mademoiselle Yamada's?" Kai said holding his phone. A few moments later he had both numbers in his contacts and was on his way to find a quiet place to sit down. He quickly found a walled off garden and sat on the warm grass between some lilies and roses after some time a wave of tiredness washed over him causing him to fall asleep.

The gentle warmth of the sun further relaxed him and there he slept till he felt someone shake his shoulder he grabbed the hand through reflexes yet noticed how soft the hand was, as he gave it a couple of gentle squeezes he muttered "Soft...Soft..." Then he realised what he was doing and promptly let the hand go "Désolé, je pensais que tu étais quelqu'un d'autre." And looked down at the brown haired girl who just looked at him in confusion "Who are you" she yelped as she deployed her IS, kai just tilted his head "China, Shenlong, Weak spot there" Kai said to himself as he darted forward and hit a tiny switch that deactivated the suit "Wha...how did you do that" Rin shouted as she got into a boxing stance only for Kai to raise his hands in surrender "I read the specs a few months ago" Kai said "Oh names, Yours is" Kai stopped for a second before speaking in a near perfect Chinese accent "Lingyin Huang" Kai smiled at Rin who looked in amazement "Am I wrong?" Kai said going back to his normal accent "I am an Engineer" Kai said as he excused himself.

-Some time later-

Charlotte had just finished a training spar with an upper-class man who had managed to crack her shield "Oh, I hate others touching Kais work" Charlotte thought as she walked to her regular engineer who looked amazed that she was there "Charles, are you here to say goodbye?" The engineer said "No, why are you leaving" Charlotte asked just for the engineer to shake her head "No, you have just been assigned a new personal engineer" the engineer said "They're over in bay 47, 48, and 49. They took them all over" The engineer sighed "We weren't using them so they just merged the rooms and are using them as one" Charlotte said her goodbyes and went to see her new engineer "Please not Laismann, she a creep" Charlotte shuddered but as she approached the door she saw a new sign had been affixed to it, it said 'Rafael Revive Custom 2 Repair Bay Epsilon' knocking politely on the door Charlotte was confused when the door swung open revealing nothing as all the lights were off apart from a single beam of light that illuminated an IS Suit Dock "H...h...hello, is anyone there?" Charlotte called into the room "I am Charles Dunois, I was told that you would be my new engineer." Charlotte had now gotten some 3 feet into the room before the door swung shut allowing the darkness to over take her but before she could yell or anything all the lights flicked on and party poppers went off as a figure stepped into view Charlotte instantly recognised the brown leather apron and the googles "KAI" She cried out in joy as she jumped into his arms knocking him to the floor "Tu me manques beaucoup" Charlotte joyfully wept as Kai hugged her "I missed you too mon tournesol" Kai said as Charlotte giggled

Then to Kais surprise Charlotte peeked him on the cheek "I think we should get up" Kai whispered in Charlottes ear causing her to blush but they managed to stand "I thought I would have some more time to set up, I was going to throw a little soiree just for us" Kai admitted "Yet you are here early, say is your guise still working?" Kai asked as he smoothed Charlottes hair, it reminded him so much of her mothers yet he would never say that.

"Oui I am still Charles" Charlotte said only to see Kai smile as he reached for a yellow box and hand it to her "A little gift, de moi à toi. Open it" Kai said smiling "It has only been a short while since you have given me a gift, oh you spoil me" Charlotte said as one hand gently caressed her IS Necklace, but as she opened the box and gentle removed the soft baby blue velvet she saw the vest and gasped in joy "I am glad you like it, it is to replace your bandages, also it has it own Quantum conversion storage, and Coreless Absolute Defence Barrier and a deployable Medical/defensive drone

"It can also change colour and design to suit your needs" Kai finished explaining "You can either unzip it or just pull it over your head" Kai instructed as he went to turn away but Charlotte stopped him "Oh, Kai you make me so happy and you know Ça ne me dérangerait pas si tu regardais" Charlotte whispered sensually in Kais ear "You have become so bold since I last saw you mon cher" Kai said as he averted his eyes while Charlotte quickly changed "how does it look" Charlotte asked just for Kai to look back at her then quickly away "C...Charlotte, tes seins sont sortis. Mettre le gilet" Kai said blushing. A few moments latter he felt Charlottes arms wrapped around him and to his relief she was wearing the vest "Kai, I know you feel the same way as I do, and I realised it when you were not here, I felt so alone and nothing made me as happy as you do. Kai, I love you" Charlotte admitted as she buried her head into Kais muscular back "Mademoiselle no, Charlotte" Kai said as he turned around and knelt in front of Charlotte "Charlotte, I love you too but our love can not be. Here I am staff and you a student, while in France you are the child of the CEO while I am not even formally exist there, so I can only work there with your fathers good graces" Kai said as he looked Charlotte in the eyes.

"Do you think I care about what Papa wants of me or what the academy says" Charlotte said tears welling up in her eyes. "Oh Charlotte, I never meant to make you cry" Kai said softly even for him as he wiped Charlottes eyes with a tissue "I love you really, but we will be looked down upon where ever we go" he explained "Then lets go to Mamas" Charlotte said only for Kai to stop her "Albert had the place knocked down so you had no where to go, and I never had a home anyway" he said but pulled Charlotte into a tight hug after standing up where he held her while she wept at the loss of her last physical reminder of her mother.
