Silence broke from the group in the barracks as Quou's phone rang. She picked it up as she finished packing up her mobile closet. She glanced over to Link and Navi. "Anything else?" She questioned quietly. She hung up the phone looking at the group.
"It's time. Navi if you would teleport us to the others on the planet. We need to be there and this ship needs to be out of the dimension before the other ship comes." Quou explained to them. She looked to Navi who had the robe on.
Navi jumped up appearing in the air next to Quou. She looked away, still not sure how she felt about everything. Her eyes trailed to the others who walked up. She didn't want to see the pile of bodies again. She closed her eyes trying to focus for a spot nearby.
Link looked around where they appeared. Another planet, fresh of vegetation. It was a nice change of view from the ships and the dead planet he had been on. He looked to Navi who landed on his shoulder.
Zigor studied the group and they all had changed their appearances as well. It seemed everyone was going undercover for this. Plus they all were rebels so who knows how many had warrants out for their arrest.
Quou smiled as she jogged up to the others, who were sitting outside playing cards, like the group they had slaughtered. "Who is winning?" Quou asked.
Miles chuckled as she tossed her hand down. "Not me.. Kris has the fates cheating for her." She snapped.
Kris laughed as she laid out her hand and the others groaning. Kris looked over to the three who were slowly making their way over. She looked to Miles who got to her feet.
"Jaraj! They are here." Miles yelled as she walked up to the shuttle. She winced as he jumped out of the shuttle. "Look where the hell you are going."
"I don't have time.. You get to sit on your ass while I have to make data happen before that other ship gets here." He growled at her as he ran up to the three. Holding a device out to Zigor "Suppose you know how this works?" He questioned the teen.
Zigor nodded as he took it and put his right hand in it. All of the prosthetics on his ears were bothering him a lot, but he knew he would have to fight through the comfort issue. Glancing at Link who clearly was trying to figure out what the device was. "It copies your hand pattern."
Link looked at him and then looked at his own hand. Looking at Gotenoo who took his hand. "Fingerprints aren't a 100% but the whole palm is a much better match. So it will scan your hand and make a copy in the device." She did her best to explain it to him.
Zigor flinched as the device had pricked him. He held it out to Gotenoo as he put his finger to his mouth. "Also takes a blood sample." Jaraj addressed as he looked at Zigor who clearly wasn't expecting that.
Gotenoo looked at Jaraj and then put her hand in the device and made sure Link could see how it was used. Once she was done she helped him with the device. Link looked at his finger as Jaraj took the device. Pulling out another he held it up to Link's face. "Stay still." He instructed him. A blue light scanned Link's face. Once the device beeped he went to the next one in line. It was clear he was trying to get this done quickly.
Watching Jaraj walk away after he was done, Link looked at the other two. "S-s-s.. so what all was that for? I mean.. Why the copy and the blood? And what was the blue light?" His ears low not sure what to think of what happened.
Letting out a small sigh Zigor decided he would try to explain it. "So.. like.. Quou" He pointed over at her. "She is a shapeshifter. So.. a handprint might not be the best, but a shifter can't magically change their blood. They need a way to know who you are.. Without just taking your word for it. As for the blue light it scanned your face and also your eyes." He pointed at his own eye. "Your eye is another good way to see who you are as well." He did his best to explain to the non-merge.
Navi tilted her head as she listened to Zigor's explanation. It made sense considering Quou's shifting ability and who knows what other people in this dimension could do. She looked down at her robe trying to keep her mind busy.
"Hey terps!" Miles yelled out to the three. "Get over here. Join the rest of us" Miles got to her feet as she tossed her cards to the middle. "I'm out." She said to the others who she was playing with.
Kris chuckled as she leaned back looking at the other two who were still playing with her. "So.. you both still in?" she grinned at them.
Gotenoo looked at Zigor and then led the group over to the others. She looked to Cow who was leaning against the ship cleaning his blade. Part of her wanted to talk to him more, about her sister. But she knew it might make her too emotional which would be bad.
"Once we get Brat back we can bug her all we want about her boyfriend over there." Zigor chuckled lightly as he put his hand on Gotenoo's shoulder. Looking to her friend she smiled weakly at him. "True. She will be so embarrassed."
Link's ears went up as he heard something from above them. Looking to the sky his blue eyes locked on a ship that began to descend near them. Link looked to the other group who continued their card game as if nothing was happening. Frowning he looked to Zigor and Gotenoo.
They were looking up at the ship. Each in their own way trying to prepare for the mission. The moment where they have to step back on that station, possibly watch their friends suffer. Zigor looked to Jacob as he walked out of the shuttle. "Get your bags. Remember names.." He instructed the group.
Some of the group went inside of the ship. Miles grabbed a bag that was sitting outside. "Ears." She called as she tossed it at Zigor. He caught it. Looking down at the bag, he knew what was in there. He looked to Link who caught another bag. "Don't open it.. It's better not to think about it." he said quietly to Link and Gotenoo.
Link looked at him and then to the bag. It hit him and he about dropped the bag. It was the bag of the person who he was replacing. He looked at Gotenoo who dropped the bag next to her and looked to the ship as it landed.
Once the engine shut off, the door opened up. An older woman with greying hair walked out yawning. She stretched some as she looked to the group. Her attention went to Jacob as he walked up to her.
"Where's Chodro?" She questioned Jacob as she watched him hold out his hand. "Names Captain Jedra. Chodro got sick last minute so I got stuck taking in his group and placed them on whatever shit station they were gonna be on for who knows how long." He chuckled.
The woman looked at his hand studying him. "Why didn't I get informed of this change?" She interrogated him about his little story. "Elligate." Jacob stated and the woman let out a sigh. "Why the hell would they tell Elligate to relay that information!?" She held her head. "He's ancient and I won't find out about this change until next week!" She complained.
Jacob chuckled as he looked to the woman's crew they were all out of the shuttle stretching a couple of them already got on the other shuttle ready to leave. "What the hell are you all doing? Waiting for an invitation? Get your asses in the ship." he yelled to his group.
Miles smirked as she nodded to Link and his group to follow her. Zigor put his hand on Link's shoulder pushing him towards the ship. "Keep your bag close to you. Once we get into the shuttle you can toss it into the back." Zigor whispered to him.
"The rest of you, cards down and move!" Jacob snapped. "You think they want a red carpet laid out for them." the woman chuckled as she held out her hand. "Julieia" she finally introduces herself. Jacob shook her hand. "Anything that I should know about ahead of time?" She looked to the rest of the group heading into the shuttle. "Make sure everyone keeps up their guard. Apparently, a lot of the experiments still have fight in them." She warned him and started to head off. "Sleep quarters suck too." She waved at him.
Jacob watched her head to the other shuttle. Turning he got into the shuttle. Looking to the group who were sitting in the chairs that were against both walls. "Whose Elligate?" Ryuk questioned him. "Someone in the DP you know?" Jacob rolled his eyes and hit his hand against the wall. "Let's head out." He pushed a button for the door to shut.
Ryuk frowned as he watched Jacob walk between everyone to take a seat next to his wife as the shuttle started to take off. "No answers… like always.." Ryuk complained. Miles elbowed him. "Shut up asshat get your mind in the game." She glared at him.
Link looked at Jacob and Quou who both sat across from him. His ears low not sure what to think about all of this. He looked down to the ground as the shuttle took off. Four hours, it was going to be a long quiet trip in the cramped space.
Oskal leaned back in his chair looking at Bella who walked up to his desk sitting on it. She looked at the vid screens he was looking at. One of them was in the room where Autum, Celtic and Mira were in. "Why do you put up with that woman, Oskal?" she questioned him.
Oskal chuckled as his eyes trailed back to the vid screen watching his sister leave the room. "Because… she's family.." He reached up grabbing his phone. He dialed a number on it. Looking at Bella as he spoke on the phone. "Brendon, my sister is coming to visit. Make up some story why Reki is in there receiving medical… also doc up his medical files…" he hung up the phone.
"Family? I doubt that is the reason.." Bella pointed at the phone as he put it down. "Reki is family…" Oskal shook his head. "Only reason I am an Upper is because of my sister. The role was passed from our father down to her. She gave it up to me with the promise that I give her full respect and not forget her like our mother did. So as long as she isn't messing up my experiments I indulge her."
Bella chuckled some. "Big brother being nice to his little sister." She looked at the vid screen to the hall where it looked like Mira was heading to medical. She looked back at Celtic and Autum. "So are we going to keep her out? Or are we going to put her back into a cell?" She glanced at Oskal.
Oskal crossed his arms watching his sister walk down the halls on the vid. He had to think what she would want to do. "We can lock her up, keep Orme around to entertain my sister. Autum seems like one who will try something, definitely a troublemaker versus Orme who clearly will follow what I say."
"Autum… you shouldn't go through with this." Celtic spoke as he closed the door. He looked back at her. Autum crossed her arms as she still sat on the couch. She couldn't do much with her leg as bad of shape as it was in. "Do you really want to argue this?" she snipped at him.
"You could die, Autum! And this is just part of what Oskal wants!" Celtic pleaded with her. "So what if it's what he wants? This is probably the only thing that is a positive about being captured. I will at least get MY memories back. And if you weren't so stupid you would've figure out I am dead once he turns me over to the dimension government."
"You don't need your memories" Celtic imparted as he walked up to the couch looking at her. "You had a clean slate Autum." Autum sat up looking at him disgusted. "You took away more than just the time me and you were together Celtic. You took away why my father was killed, anything that could've possibly hurt me. I don't have emotional ties to even why I lost my fingers in war! You took away everything Celtic! You being a fucking immortal you don't understand. The things that hurt us, teach us! It made me who I am and you took away that! You took away the pieces of my life that formed me into who I am today!"
Celtic looked at her and then away as he sat down on a chair next to the couch. "It's your guilt why you don't want me to do this, Celtic. I don't give a fuck if you can't deal with your own emotions. This is what I want. Even if I have to be in some sort of sick experiment for it. I am willing to go through with it. That's how much I need this. So why don't you go fuck off, go and lick Oskal's boots some more. I'm sure there more shit on them by now."
Celtic looked at Autum as she laid down on the couch closing her eyes. It was clear she was done with him. He looked to the table, he never thought he would get to talk to her about this again. His eyes trailed to his hands "You were going to have a girl." He spoke quietly to her. "I know when Eznik asked if we wanted to know, you threatened him if he told you. You promised you would break his nose. You wanted it to be a surprise for both of us." he fiddled with his fingers`. "He told me after the attack… a few months later. I ran into him at a station and he got me coffee. Told him not to contact me again, but you know him. The moment he saw me he came running up to me." he smiled weakly.
Autum didn't look at him. She opened her eyes looking at the ceiling listening to him. "Don't know why, but you wanted me to pick a middle name for a boy and a girl." He chuckled lightly. "I wish I could have protected you and her that day. Maybe things might have been different if I could have. Still I couldn't risk losing you, so I sealed away your memories. So you wouldn't love me." He looked at her. "I'd rather you been happy with someone else, than to possibly die with me. But being foolish I wanted to take away all your pain. So.. that's why I sealed all your memories of painful events… but then again it seems I failed at doing that right as well."
There was silence between the two of them for a few. "You are a dumbass you know that." Autum spoke softly. She slowly sat up as she looked at the door as a couple of guards came in. She knew it was for her. Autum slowly got up holding up her hands towards the guards.
The guards look at each other. One of them walked up to Autum with the shackles. It seemed this was going to be simple, so they thought. Autum looked at Celtic smirking at him. Celtic knew that look. This wasn't going to end up well. The moment the guard was in range she grabbed the bottle of alcohol and hit him hard on the side of his head. She gritted her teeth from the pain of the weight of her body on her leg.
"Stop! Or I will shoot." The guard snapped pointing his gun at her. He winced as the rest of the bottle came at him. He stumbled away and winced as a gun went off. It wasn't his, he looked at Autum who had got the gun from the other guard pointing at him. "Drop the gun and kick it over here or I shoot to kill. You have to shoot to injure but I don't. The moment you do that I promise you will be dead." She snapped.
Celtic held his head, why did she have to cause so many issues?! He looked at her, he didn't even know what to say to her. Was she on a suicide mission? She watched the guard kick the weapon over to her. "Run off, go tell Oskal to fuck himself." she snapped. Watching the guard leave she closed her eyes fighting the pain of her leg.
"W-what!? Why!?" Celtic cried trying to figure out her logic. "Because this might be my last chance to see my brother." Autum looked at him. "So either you help or you can sit your ass here."
Celtic looked at her and sighed. He would regret this, he prayed that Oskal wouldn't do anything to Reki with Mira here. "Toss the gun." Autum dropped the gun she had onto the couch. She squirmed as he walked up picking her up in his arms. "I can walk.." she muttered looking at him.
"I already carried you once, so this way it doesn't seem out of place." Celtic concluded. "So where do you think he would be?" Autum closed her eyes trying to think passed the pain. "Idiot probably can't keep his mouth shut, so medical wing. Probably did something stupid by now."
Celtic wanted to say "You mean like you?" but he knew better.
Mira walked into the medial wing. Her eyes went to bed, to bed till she found him. Walking up to Reki she grabbed his chart staring at it. "An attack." She spoke softly under her breath. She looked at Reki who still had bandages from his quarrel with Brat. Moving her hand she moved his hair out of his face. "You look like shit, I will bet that black eye is from your father."
Looking back at the chart, Iunio virus. Who in their right mind would be doing experiments with that? "Brendon…" Snipped as she started to walk up to him. "Can you tell me what happened to Reki?"
Brendon looked up at her. "If you think they tell me more than what I put on there, you are sadly mistaken. All I know he was attacked and got that virus in him. So he's been treated as you can see."
Mira smiled weakly to him. "How have you been over the last few months?" Brendon looked at her as he took the report from her hands. "Good as one can be" he said as he walked over putting the chart back.
Mira grabbed a chair pulling it up to her nephew sitting down on it. "The kids?" She looked at him. "Serua graduated finally." he chuckled. "Oh really? Did she stick with engineering?" Brendon nodded, though his attention went to his phone. He picked it up walking away from Mira.
There was a commotion outside, Mira got to her feet walking up to the door. Looking out in the hall she frowned. Celtic kicked a guard into a wall and another was on the ground. She held her head. "Get in here now, both of you." Mira snapped as she walked out in the hall.
Looking up Celtic smiled some seeing Mira. He jogged up to her holding Autum. Walking into the room he looked at Brendon who pointed to a bed next to Eznik. "Put her up on there." He spoke not too thrilled with this. He walked up to one of the cabinets grabbing a couple things.
Celtic walked up, setting Autum down on the table. He winced as Mira slapped him on the back of the head. "You idiot! What are you doing attacking the guards!? You could of made her leg worse!" Celtic looked back at her. "I-I"
"I told him to." Autum spoke up. "They weren't happy with me wanting to leave the room. Celtic grab that chart." She pointed at the chart attached to Eznik's bed. Mira walked up grabbing the chart from Celtic. "Why did you want to leave your room?" Mira questioned her.
Autum pointed at the chart. "For my brothers chart. I assumed my ass of a brother would be in here." Mira looked down at the chart reading the name. "Why is he here? He isn't some assassin like you, is he?" She asked as she held the chart to her.
Taking the chart, "No" she spoke as she read over the chart. "What's Verispa Deria?" Autum looked up at Brendon who walked up to her. "It's a street drug, known also as a free spirit", he explain as he held a scanner over her leg.
Autum looked at him and then to her brother. Mira frowned, she didn't get an answer. "Why is he here?" Brendon walked away hooking the device to the tablet to get the read out. Autum eyes trailed to the woman. She still had to be careful what she said. She already knew there would be backlash from this stunt. "I guess you don't watch the news. His kid is Brat and she is on this station. He pulled me in trying to do a rescue mission. Thus where we are now."
Mira looked to Eznik and shook her head. "Parents do stupid things for children." She chuckled some. She walked up to Eznik studying his vitals. She knew there was nothing she could do to intervene here. They had chosen their own fate.
"Who has treated your leg?" Brendon asked Autum as he walked up to her. Celtic moved aside not to be in the way. He sat on a chair watching. "Don't know.. Some bitch pushed it back in socket after he dislocated it." Autum nodded to Celtic.
Celtic looked down as Mira looked at him. "You have more than just a broken leg under there…" Brendon spoke not happy at all. "The amount of fractures in your leg. You have some muscle that might be torn as well." He shook his head. "I doubt you will have time for this to even begin to heal." He looked at her.
Autum chuckled and tossed the chart to the edge of the bed. She laid back knowing that this was the last bit of rest she probably was going to get for a while.
Mira looked at the two before she could say anything her attention went to the door. Oskal walked in and looked at the group. "Have fun on your little adventure?" He questioned Celtic and Autum. "You only knocked out 6 of the guards on duty. One of which has a concussion thanks to a bottle being smashed over his head."
Autum watched him closely. Her brother was in the room who knows what he might do. Though, how much would he do with this woman here? She glanced at Mira, she might be an ace in the hole here. They might be able to use her possibly to get some of those kids out of here. The woman doesn't seem to understand how dangerous Autum could be, even with her damaged leg.
Mira looked at her brother, she could tell he was not happy by his tone. These two undermined his authority it seemed. Mira rubbed the back of her neck knowing she shouldn't interfere. "Autum did want to see her brother. I'm sure I would of done something just as stupid to see you. Plus I'm sure Celtic here would be willing to help out in any way, since his wife shouldn't be walking on her leg." She smiled at her brother.
Oskal looked to Mira and let out a sigh. "You might think she is harmless, but she is an assassin. What more she can summon a blade and I will not risk anyone else getting injured because someone can't accept that they are in prison here."
Autum watched the two of them bicker. "Celtic if you would, head to lab where Brat is." He looked back at Celtic. Celtic glanced away slowly getting up to his feet. "Next time you do something this stupid I promise you will regret it." Oskal threatened him.
Mira watched Celtic slowly walk out of the room. Looking to her brother to see what else he was going to do. "You should head to bed after that 12 hour shift." Oskal informed his sister. He sat down in a chair looking at her.
"Get her some pain meds and have Brendon redo her leg wrap." Mira spoke up. "I'm sure Autum here will be good for Brendon, isn't that right? Since he was so nice to let you see your brother's chart. Also answer questions you had about it." She looked at Autum.
Autum nodded. She closed her eyes as she crossed her arms. "Good. So get her fixed up so you can put her back in her cell. I promise I won't be a bother." She walked up to Oskal patting him on the shoulder. "I will come back and check on her when I get up to make sure she got pain meds." She warned.
Oskal waited for his sister to be gone before he got to his feet. Walking up to Autum's bed, he pushed down hard on her leg. Autum gritted her teeth looking at him. "You push your luck any more around my sister, your brother over there won't be breathing." he snapped coldly at her. He moved his hand off of her leg. "Do what Mira wants Brendon." he ordered. "If she causes any issues, you let me know." he looked at him walking out.
Autum looked up at the ceiling as the pain rushed through her body. She clenched her fist. The adrenaline was finally off from their little excursion. Autum grimaced as Brendon grabbed her arm. She went to jerk her hand away but stopped.
"For my own personal safety." Brendon spoke as he shackled her arm to the bed. He watched her as she nodded. He walked over and grabbed his medical gun. He shot her in the leg. He watched her lay back and close her eyes. "Do you just want me to put you to sleep for this?"
Autum opened one of her eyes studying him. She knew the reason for his safety. She did just do a little get away to get here. "Go for it…" At least this way her body might get some rest.
