Chapter.2

Time To Portal To The Past

Summers POV

"Hey Morty, come here", I called to my brother who was upside down on the couch watching mindless tv. I saw his eyes find mine and he rolled into a sitting position. "Yeah Summer", he questioned coming closer, "look at what I managed to grab", I said revealing the portal gun to him. "Oh geez, Summer, you shouldn't have taken that, Rick won't be happy", Morty said I could tell he was getting nervous. "Morty listen, this is our chance to go see what grandma Diane was like", I said. I watched my brothers face and he seemed to want to go but he also wasn't so sure this was a good idea. "Come on Morty, please", I pleaded, Morty sighed and finally agreed. "Let's do it", he said. We quickly made sure grandpa was asleep in his room before we got to work.

I typed in the year when grandpa Rick would have been in high school and off we went to our grandpas past to see our grandma.

Morty's POV

"H-h-holy shit Summer w-we're actually here, do you know what grandma looks like?" I asked my sister. "Uh like mom? I don't know I didn't think this through all the way," she replied. As we looked around we saw a bunch of people walking towards the gymnasium so we ended up following them. As we walked in we were blinded by a disco ball and a familiar voice singing on stage. "No way," escaped my sister. " R-Rick", I whispered. It couldn't be.

The next day

Ricks POV

The party in the gym last night was pretty fun, well until my girlfriend, Hailey, started her rant about negativity about our performance. Our drummer Allen has always said I needed to break up with her. Raven our keyboard player butted heads with Hailey a lot, I felt kinda bad for the poor girl, Hailey wasn't necessarily a nice person. She never tried to help me when I came to school with injuries from the night before. She was a real bitch. I think my fear of being alone is stopping me from going through with it, she's not all bad sometimes we get along and she really gets me going. She's not the best influence but she can be a lot of fun, she's like my partner in crime.

Later that day at band practice

We practice at Haileys house because her parents are never home and no one ever complains. Hailey has an incredible voice she just doesn't care and I admire that.

"Alright bitches lets get this show on the fucking road!" Hailey yelled into the microphone. " This song goes out to my bitch of a boyfriend Rick! She exclaimed before she started singing. " Boy you're such a pussssyyyy why do I even deal with youuu? Hahaha, what do you think Rick? I worked real hard on the lyrics." I rolled my eyes I got used to her verbal abuse, it's nothing compared to that of my dad. "Sounds fine Hailey just don't let your giant fucking ego control you cause like I said before Raven doesn't like you neither does Allen and if you keep making bitch ass songs insulting me or the band I will personally kick you out of the band, we'll find another singer, there's other girls and until then I'll sing for the band, you know I can", I looked her dead in the eyes.

"Oh Ricky poo your bluffs are so obvious, have you heard me ? I'm a goddess," She responded .

"That's it I'm done for today, I'll see you guys tomorrow," I said as I walked out the door. I went for a walk In the park because I need to be alone. Why is everyone around me so negative? All I have is my little brother, how does he stay so positive in our home environment? It's blows my mind. I sat down by the pond and took a deep breath.

After a few minuets my phone started buzzing. I looked at the screen, Erin, the screen read, I answered it. "Hey buddy what's going on", I asked "bro when are you coming on m-mom and dad are yelling at each other again", Erin said, "ok bud I'm headed home now ok, just stay in your room till I get home", I said "ok, please hurry" Erin never pleads so this meant that mom and dad had been yelling at each other for a while then.

I picked up my backpack and ran home.

As I walked through the front I came face to face with my dad who was red eyed from alcohol and Erin facing our mom yelling at him.

"Mom stop please, hi dad", I said my father grabbed the collar of my black hoodie and bared his teeth, "don't talk to your mother like that, you're late again haven't I told you to be home by 4", my father yelled at me. I glanced to where my little brother had been and I saw him at the top of the stairs, his eyes glued to mine, I gave him a small smile.

I turned my face back to my dad and immediately felt a fist connect with my right eye, "RICKY", I heard Erin scream. I stumbled with my hand over the injured eye and landed on the floor with a soft thud.

I felt warm liquid drip from my eye and removed my hand staring at dark liquid staining my fingerless black glove.

"I'm gonna go easy on you today Richard, next time you might not keep an eye boy, be home AT 4", my dad sneered at me, I quickly scrambled to my feet and ran past my mother, grabbed Erins hand and took him to my room with me.
