There was a slight cough from the teen. Link slowly opened one of his eyes. He could feel something down his throat, it was very uncomfortable. He started gagging some from the feeling. He gagged as he tried to cough, but he could feel whatever was there retract. He slowly moved his left hand to his mouth. He pulled off a device as his hand shook.
Everything was still a blur, but there was something else off. He slowly held his hand up. He moved it back and forth. He moved his hand slowly to his left eye but it was hurting. He tried to open his eye but wouldn't open.. His hand was shaking as he slowly put his hand down.
His head was pounding and his body seemed to have no energy or strength. He could hear the steady sound of a beeping. He knew that was from those machines that Eznik would use. He still couldn't quite make out where he was as his vision started to clear some. He needed to know, did they make it out. Was everyone okay?
Closing his eye he let out a sigh trying to calm down. He flinched as he felt someone put their hand on his head. "Relax, you're in a safe place Link." A soft and familiar voice replied.
"Eznik." Link spoke up with a small grin on his face as he opened his eye. "Everyone is safe and it's good to see you finally decided to join us." He moved to a table grabbing something. "Ok keep looking at me." He spoke as he shined a light in his eye and then slowly forced open Link's other eye shining a light in it.
"We'll see what we can do for your other eye." Eznik said as he smiled at the teen. Link tried to sit up and Eznik chuckled. "Relax. Lay back. I'll raise up the bed." Once Link settled back Eznik moved up the back of the bed.
"W-where is Navi?" Link asked, looking at Eznik. "She is out with the kids. As for Autum..." Eznik chuckled as he pulled out his phone. "She will be in here a few." he typed a couple things. "Are you having any pain or vision issues in your other eye?" He glanced at him.
"Just mainly m-my head." Link said as he held his head where he had been shot. Eznik walked over to a device grabbing it. "This is going to do a couple of scans of your head. It won't hurt." Eznik set it onto Link's head.
Link closed his eye as he let out a small sigh. "H-how long have I been out?" Eznik sat down on the edge of the bed. "Almost two months." Link opened his eye looking at him. "W-What? Two months?!" Eznik chuckled. "It's fine you didn't miss anything too exciting I promise."
Link and Eznik's attention went to the door as they heard something hit the ground. Autum stood at the door as she just dropped the cup that she was holding. Eznik chuckled at her expression as he took a picture with his phone grinning. "That tea was for him." he jested.
Autum walked up to him smiling. "Link." She didn't know what to say to him. She hugged him tight. "I thought the gods were going to take from me." She whispered as she held him. Link smiled weakly as she held him. It was good to see that she was well.
Celtic walked through the door and looked at the floor where Eznik was cleaning up the mess. He chuckled some as he bent down. "Here she was being all pissy that you wanted her to bring you tea." he looked over to his wife who was holding the teen.
"Ah I wanted to see her expression when she saw him awake. Got the perfect picture, too." He laughed as he stood up holding the broken pieces of the cup.
Link studied Autum. She looked to be in a really good mood. She seemed happy, which was odd as it was so not like her as even when in a good mood she always seemed to be carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. But now she seemed genuinely happy, no longer holding a grudge, no longer coming across as pissed and annoyed with life. And what was even more surprising was all of the markings on her arms were gone, did that mean? he wondered as he looked over at Celtic. "D-did you get your memories back?" he asked as he looked back to Autum.
Autum chuckled lightly as she sat down next to him. "Yes, you were taking too long to wake up. I couldn't wait." "Probably better that you slept through it, she was a bitch from the 9th hell not being able to move. She took the bed right next to you. You would have never heard the end of it. She was not a happy girl." Celtic spoke up as he plopped down in a chair.
Link smiled some. It seemed everything ended up turning out well. "I guess you two are back together?" he questioned Autum, trying to play catch up some. Autum looked back at Celtic. "I guess you can say that." Autum shook her head as she rubbed the back of her neck. "Still doesn't change the fact that he is an idiot." she chuckled some.
Link laughed lightly, at her comment. "Have you got to see Navi yet?" Autum grinned at Link. Link shook his head as he looked at her. Her expression worried him some. "I guess she is with the others right now ."
Autum pulled out her her phone. "Oh, I got it Autum, no worries. She will be here in a minute or two." Eznik laughed as he sat on a stool watching them.
Link frowned, he didn't like the look the two were giving him. Did something happen with Navi? Or did they prep her about asking him out more or something else embarrassing? He wasn't sure what, he just felt by their expressions that something was up. He closed his eyes as his head was still hurting him. He didn't want to think that they were already wanting to pull pranks when he just woke up. He just wasn't up for it. He just never considered such fun or funny.
"LINK!" Navi screamed as she appeared in front of him. Link's eye shot open as he stared at her in total disbelief. His face went flush red. This was the last thing he expected from her. Not even in his wildest dreams did he think this was what the two were hinting about. There she stood 5 foot 2 inches tall with a white tank top and a long purple skirt. She had her hair braided back. She ran up to the bed hugging him. "LINK!" She held him tight.
Autum laughed as she stood up. "I think that was the best look of the century." She chuckled as Eznik clearly got the pictures he wanted from this little surprising introduction.
Link slowly sat up on the bed as she let go. He studied her confused, his ears low. "W-what happened? I mean, uh how did you?" He was still bright red.
Navi smiled and sat on the bed. "Um, well" She looked back at Eznik. "They recommended it, so I wouldn't stand out too much. Faeries in general are rare so I would stand out no matter what." She looked back at him. "It's not permanent though, I can change back to a smaller size any time I want." She rattled on. "Do you like it?"
Link looked down not knowing what to say because it had all taken him so totally by surprise. He twitched as Autum took the device on top of his head off. He looked at Autum. "He does, look how red he is." Autum smirked. "He definitely likes. So don't worry your little head off, Navi." She walked over to Eznik holding out the device to him. She then walked over to Celtic sitting down on his lap showing Link again how things had changed in so many ways while he had been out.
Celtic looked at her sighing. "You weigh a lot…" he muttered. He let out a cry as she grabbed his ear. "Keep that to yourself, you idiot." she snipped.
Navi looked at the couple and chuckled, then looked back at Link. "I'm so happy you're had me so worried." She moved her hand to his cheek looking at his eye. "Is your eye ok?" she asked him, concerned. "It will be fine Navi. "Eznik spoke up as he read over the data. "A small nano-work will fix up the nerves that are messed up, so no worries. All can be reconstructed and healed. He will be able to see in that eye in a week."
Link shyly took her hand moving it off of his cheek. "You look nice, Navi." Navi looked at him smiling, and she hugged him tight again. "Navi, not s-so tight." he whined.
"Eznik said we can stay here with him, or.." Navi let go of him and looked to Autum. "We offered our place as well, but the new upper wiped you and Navi's files, so you can go back to your home if you wish. So you have a choice." Autum informed him.
"W-we can?" Link looked at Autum as she nodded. "So it's on you, what you want to do with your life as you have several options." Link looked down as he thought about such. He didn't know what he wanted to do. He looked at the group who was watching him.
"I-i" "It's fine we aren't asking for a decision now." Eznik conveyed. He didn't want Link to feel pressured plus he had plenty of time to make such a decision. They had just wanted him to know so he wasn't left wondering what was to happen next. "Take your time, you just woke up for fate's sake. There's no hurry one way or the other." Link shook his head. "I want to stay here. I don't want to go back to Hyrule, if you will let us." He looked to Navi and then to Eznik hoping that the offer was still on.
Eznik smiled and nodded. "Of course. I just hope you can survive Brat and her crew. I mean worse case you can go with Autum and Celtic." he jibed looking at the couple. "We are heading to their place if you want to see what it's like."
"We have a house planetside, no neighbors." Autum spoke up as she got off of Celtic. "It's going to be a mess though…" She glanced away, it had been years since they had set foot there. She shook her head at the thought. She was having her own issues with going there. She still had a lot to deal with.
"Yeah, if it is ok for me to move about." Link smiled and looked to Eznik who nodded. "I can just teleport us there?! I mean I can do it right now!" Navi spoke up all excited as she looked at them. It was clear she was thrilled Link was awake and couldn't wait to get on with their lives together here in this new dimension.
Eznik sighed, he knew how excited she was,and he didn't want to disappoint her but there was the truth of the matter. "Let's give it a day or so Navi." He spoke up looking at her. "Link has just woke and shouldn't be up and moving about as he still needs his rest. His body has to adjust to him being awake. And even with technology he's going to have some muscle atrophy and will have to work at getting his muscles moving again."
"B-but.." Navi let out a small sigh of defeat. Looking at Link who laid back closing his eye. "Are you ok Link?" she piped up worried about him. "Exhausted." he quietly stated. As much as he wanted to be up and about, Eznik was right. He still didn't feel right psychically, he felt weak even sitting up seemed to be a lot on his body right now.
"Why don't you go to the kitchen and make him some soup? I'm sure he is hungry after these months of just living off fluids. And his body could use the nutrients." Eznik suggested to Navi. She perked up and vanished. He walked up to Link. "You doing ok?"
Link nodded a little. "Yeah… tired.. Though I've been out for two months. I shouldn't be right?" Link complained. Eznik chuckled. "No, your body wasn't resting then it was recovering. It was working hard so you're going to be exhausted. You have been through alot of trauma. Your body needs time to recover from recovering. Now it's trying to do all it's own functions on it's own. You've been hooked up to machines this whole time doing such for you. That's another reason why you're so exhausted."
"You will be fine in a day or so." Autum added her chump change. "Might be a pain to walk around for a week or so, but we can drag you to our house despite such forcing Celtic carrying you on his back if we have to." She chuckled some. "Don't feel bad about not feeling your best, got it? Your body does need rest."
Celtic frowned. "I feel like you're the worst person who could be telling him this… Miss, I am trying to get out of bed right after major surgery…" He muttered.
Autum glared at him. "Hey it's true. He is very lucky that he didn't have to deal with your shit after that surgery. You were a major pain in the ass." Celtic complained to her as she grabbed his ear.
Eznik chuckled some at the two. "She was bedridden for a month, probably the worst month in our lives for all of us. I just gave her a clean bill of health a couple weeks ago." Eznik explained looking at Link. "So no worries, take your time letting your body heal up. It's for the best, the right thing to do. Don't let your pride get the better of you like Autum did."
"Hey! Watch It Doctor!" Autum assaulted. "You know it's true, sister. But it was no surprise as even as a child you hated feeling vulnerable and despised needing someone else's help." "Yeah, that's her." agreed Celtic.
Link nodded some. He opened his eye looking to Autum who was next to him straightening his blankets. "Don't listen to them I wasn't that 're exaggerating." she defended herself. She looked to Eznik who started laughing and Celtic was shaking his head. "Don't let her lie to you, Link. Believe me, you're lucky you slept through it." Celtic warned him as he got to his feet stretching.
Navi appeared next to the bed. She was holding a small tray with a bowl of soup. She smiled at Link. "I hope you like it. I made it myself. Eznik and Deka have been teaching me to cook." She said as she put the small tray on his lap.
Link looked at her smiling. He weakly took the spoon in his hand. He felt feeble. His hand was shaking some. He glanced up to Navi who was watching him. "Er.." Navi took the spoon from him and dished out some. "Let me help." she suggested to him.
The moment he got some he winced from a flash of the camera. He swallowed the soup and frowned at Eznik who was grinning at the two of them. "You're an ass." Autum spat as she walked over to a cabinet. "Do you need anything from the station?" She looked to Eznik. "Nope gave the kids a shopping list. So you can just get what you need for your house." he relayed.
"See you two later. Come on Celtic." Autum summoned. She knew that Link and Navi had some things to catch up on. She hoped her brother got the hint of leaving the two alone as well. She headed out of the room followed by Celtic.
Eznik watched the group leave. "Navi, I'll be in my room if you two need me." He informed her. He had gotten the hint. He knew that Navi probably would talk Link's arm off for hours. She had been through so much over the months and had so missed her companion.
Link watched him leave and then said. "Soup is really good, Navi. Seems like you got this cooking down." He looked at her smiling weakly. She took the tray and vanished. She re-appeared hugging him as she closed her eyes whimpering some. "I didn't think you were going to wake up Link. I was so afraid. I tried so hard every day to keep going. I didn't want to lose hope. I just wanted you to wake up.I needed you to wake up. I didn't know what I would do without you." she cried as she held him tight.
Closing his eye he hugged her back. "I'm sorry Navi, I think I overslept this time." Navi let go of him and giggled a little. "You did, by a lot. I think you win for over sleeping. AND for being late." she smiled. Link moved his hand slowly to her wiping a couple tears off of her cheeks. "I remember some of the stuff you talked about when I was sleeping." He told her. "But it's all a little foggy. So why don't you tell me about your adventures you had."
Navi nodded grinning at him. "Oh!" She vanished and reappeared with his soup. She set it down on his lap and climbed up on the bed with him. "Better not let it get cold." She nodded and began to tell him of her two month of dealing with a bedridden Autum and the adventures she had with Brat and her crew.
