Smartest Boy In The Universe
(Super short to give Rick a genius moment)
Dianes POV
I had just finished setting everything up for our science project as I heard a knock on my door. I heard my mom answer the door " Oh hey Rick and Erin how are you doing today, so glad to see you," I heard her cheery attitude come through. " Hey Mrs. Crescent you look lovely today, I'm here to work on a science project with Diane and I was hoping Erin could watch some tv while we work", I heard Rick say from downstairs. " Oh thank you so much Rick such a little charmer and of course he can, Diane is upstairs in her room feel free to go up there", my mother responded.
My heart rate increased as I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and a shadow appear in the small crack under my door. "Diane, it's me, can I come in", I heard Ricks voice. "Yeah, come in", I said. I heard my door open and I turned around to see two sapphire blue eyes staring at me. "Ricky, the reds gone, your eyes all healed", I said and wrapped my arms around his neck and captured his lips in a passionate kiss. I felt Ricks hands rest gently on my hips. As we broke apart I could see my boyfriends cheeks flushed pink. "Awe, are you getting shy", I said and quickly kissed his cheek. "Maybe a little bit D", Rick answered rubbing the back of his neck.
"So, Ricky, what are we supposed to do for our project, I'm clueless", I said throwing my hands up. "D, relax, think about this, the universe is full of possibilities and we don't know what's out there. Our teacher never said we couldn't do a science fiction project, and we just include some science facts", Rick said. He had a good idea.
I wrote down everything that Rick said and anything he researched in all honesty wasn't even two things. It was like his brain was in auto drive, he knew everything. Rick started writing down equations and explaining them to me even though I didn't understand half of what he said. This kid, he just might be the smartest boy in the universe.
After about three hours of doing nothing but our project and talking I noticed Ricks eyes getting heavy, he looked exhausted. "Hey baby, stay awake, we don't need another problem with your parents right", I said rubbing his back. Rick nodded but then his eyes widened. "If I call my parents and ask them there's a high chance they'll let me stay here for the night", he said. I smiled, "that'd be good", I said.
Ricks POV
I pulled out my phone and called my house.
"Hello", thank god it was my mom. "H-hey mom, it's Rick, so I'm at a friends house and was wondering if I could spend the night since tomorrow's the weekend and Erin is with me", I asked my heart picking up it's pace. Even if it's not my dad I'm still terrified. "Do whatever you want Richard not my problem", my mom said and hung up. I took a deep breath and faced Diane who was resting on her bed. "Ok, I can stay", I said, "yay", was all Diane said as I was knocked to the floor by my happy girlfriend. I looked up at her face and we both just started laughing.
I told Erin what our mom said and he was extremely happy to not go back to that house tonight. Diane told her parents and they were glad to have me and my brother to stay.
After Dianes parents went to sleep and we put Erin to bed we went to sleep in the same position as the first night I stayed here. "You're so comfy Ricky", Diane said cuddling closer on my chest. I smiled and kissed her head. My eyes started to shut and I let myself fall asleep.
