Hunter x Hunter is not my work and the characters are not mine. The characters belong to the author of the hunter x hunter.

It was 6 am in the morning. The sun was shining brightly through the windows. A girl draped in an emerald green t-shirt and and pyjamas got up with the chime of the alarm. Today was her birthday she was finally 12 years old. Happiness filled her mind as she grabbed some clothes out of her closet and got ready

Gon was a girl who lived with her grandmother, No her parents weren't dead her father had left her in her grandmother's care to take part in the world of hunting as much as that fact broke her heart she wanted to confront him for what he had done. Her grandmother on the other hand was a different case, as well as being pro hunter who specialised in the art of silence she was also a caring grandmother who told Gon that if she wanted to take the hunter exam she not only had to catch a humongous fish but had to know how to get out of a tough situation and hence she trained her every day. As a result 10 year old Gon had to go through trap doors, poison dishes and worst of all a daily sparring with her grandmother.

The time was now. Gon put on her green boots, another thing her grandmother had taught her that a hunters clothes themselves were an extension of one's weapons.A Simple translation would be to hide your weapons within your clothes or some place the enemy will never think to look. Who knows it might even save your subsistence in a life and death situation. For Gon her weapon was embedded in her boots in the form of a mini katana (sword).

Equipped with all her assets especially her fishing rod she set out to catch the fish and brought to her grandmother. The people in Whale Island were astonished at the least, a gigantic fish caught by a 12 year old bo- yes a boy. Gon always wore her hair in a spiky way and she was tall for a 12 year old girl hence it was easy for her to be mistaken for a boy but it had happened so many times that at this point she had given up pointing out their mistake. Grandma was acting strong but there were visible sadness reflecting through her black, piercing eyes. Gon went up and hugged her after all she was the only parent- like figure in her eyes and as much as she hated to admit it she was grateful for all the love and dedication she had taken care of her with. Unbeknown-st to Gon her grandmother slid in a tracking device within her backpack at the guise of kissing her cheek. Gon glanced at her grandmother once before running off out the door.
