Graduation and Farewells
Ricks POV
"Richard Sanchez", I heard my name be called from the microphone and I made my way across the stage in my cap and gown, I looked into the crowd and saw someone I never expected. I saw my mother. She waved to me and I waved back my eyes wide and I smiled softly.
As we all threw our caps I looked for my mother departing from my group. I saw her walking back to her car, "MOM", I yelled and she turned around. I walked up to her and hugged her, "thanks for coming", I whispered, "of course dear", she said and hugged me back. "You'll do great things Rick", mom whispered. "I'm gonna work on being a mom you can be happy with", she added. I nodded, "you can do it mom leave Washington and start new", I said. Mom smiled and we waved goodbye to each other.
The four of us, Allen, Raven, Diane, and I mingled with other people and ignored whispers of what happened to me from other students. We were having a great party at Allen's house until Dianes parents came to pick her up, I was gonna be leaving for college in the morning before she woke up so this was my last time with her. "I'll miss you Ricky", she said starting to cry, "hey don't cry D, I'll wait for you, I will find you again", I said wiping her tears away, "and I'll wait for you ", she said back, I hugged her tightly and kissed her passionately, "goodbye for now Diane, I love you so much", I whispered, "goodbye for now Ricky, I love you more than you could ever know", Diane whispered back. I watched her drive away who knows how long it would be till I saw her again, but I knew I would, I would make sure of it, I will travel the galaxy with her by my side.
