How to ruin the mood
Their camping trip had been amazing, nothing but carefree lovemaking and Robin trying his best to make Regina love camping just as much as he did himself. And now they were driving home, or Robin was while Regina was busy staring at him. 'I can see you, you know.' Robin chuckled while keeping his eyes on the road. 'I know.' She smiled and kept staring at him. He moved his hand to her upper thigh and her hand immediately found it's place on top of his before she squeezed softly. 'Can I ask you something.' She said still looking at him. 'Always.' He answered and briefly looked at her before moving his gaze back to the road. 'In two months your deal is finished.. and..' She looked at her hand that was still resting on top of his. 'And we haven't talked about what happens to eh.. to us then..' She saw his smile fade a little. 'What?' She instantly asked. He squeezed her leg softly. 'I don't want you to move back to your place.' Regina bit her lip, trying to hide her excitement. 'I don't think I want that either.' His smile instantly returned. 'That's settled then.' She chuckled and stared at him again. 'What about our engagement?' She fired her next question. 'You can keep the ring.' He said, surprising her a little. 'Robin.. I don't really..' He didn't let her finish. 'When I'm gonna ask you to become my wive, and I will ask you that some day, I want it to be perfect for you and not based on some stupid contract.' She bit her lip as she felt how she blushed. 'Stupid contract hmm?' She teased and looked out of the window to hide her blushing cheeks from him. 'The only think I like about that contract is that it was signed by you.' She felt her heart flutter at that. 'You are such a flirt.' She said without looking at him. 'And you love it.' Robin smiled.
When they got back home Regina was pretty certain nothing could bring her mood down after the amazing weekend they had. But the second she saw Mary's face when they walked in the house she knew her mood would change. 'Mr. Locksley we..' Mary started right away but Robin shook his head. 'Can this wait until tomorrow, this is my day off which means you shouldn't be working either.' He smiled at her but Mary's face stayed the same. 'Sir I really have to..' Mary continued but once again Robin stopped her. 'Mary tomorrow ok?' Robin laid his hand on the small of Regina's back and tried to walk them upstairs when Mary stopped them. 'Robin I'm sorry but there has been an emergency, I've been trying to reach you all weekend.' Regina had never heard Mary call Robin by his first name and also the tone in which she was speaking was new to her. 'It's ok, I was gonna take a bath anyway.' Regina smiled at him before walking up the stairs. 'Ms Mills, this emergency affects you too.' Mary spoke as Regina froze on the stairs and slowly walked back to Robin.
They were all standing in Robin's office, waiting for Mary to break the news to the. Mary seemed nervous, really nervous as she stared at the iPad in her hands. 'What is it Mary?' Robin asked slightly impatient. 'I ehm..' She shook her head and handed Robin the device and the second Regina saw the images she felt her world fall apart. She felt sick, actually sick, she could see Robin speaking to her but she didn't hear a word he said. She just stared at te images, at her posing in different sets of lingerie. It where the images from Mal's booking website, the ones man used to book her. They were in the papers, on every news website, on every social media platform, everywhere. 'W-when eh.. how long has this been online?' She almost whispered and looked at Mary. 'Yesterday morning.' She answered and looked sadly at Regina. With trembling hand Regina got her phone from her suitcase, they had turned them off for the weekend so they wouldn't get disturbed but the second she turned it on she saw the missed calls and text messages on her homescreen. Everyone knew. She stared at the notifications, some of them where from Mal and a few colleagues, but most of them where from her family, her mother, her dad, Zelena and even Archie had called her a few times. She looked up as Robin grabbed her phone and put it aside before he took her hands in his and made her look at him. 'I eh I need to..' She breathed out. 'Regina you need to take a deep breath.' She didn't hear him. 'My family.. I need to ehm..' Her eyes filled themselves with tears as she breathed in and out rapidly. 'Hey.' Robin said firmly, causing her to finally hear him. 'I am with you.' He wrapped his arms around her and hold her close as he kissed her head. 'I'm with you.' He said again.
They decided to wait, they didn't contact anyone, Mary didn't make a statement for the press, they just waited. And so Regina laid curled up in bed, her eyes red from crying. 'I ruined your career.' She whispered as he drew patterns on her hip bone. 'None of that matters to me.' He whispered back to her and continued his patterns. 'Robin.. your mother.' Regina sat up in bed and looked at him. 'You have to call her.' He shook his head and pulled her close to him. 'She can wait, as can the rest of the world.' He assured her. Regina's phone broke the silence and made them both look up. 'It's my dad.' She whispered and looked at him. Robin took her hand and squeezed it softly. Regina turned her phone off and laid down close to Robin. 'I can't have that conversation over the phone.' She said before laying her head on his chest. He stroked her dark curls over her back and held her close. 'I'm sorry Robin.' She whispered. 'No I'm sorry.' He kissed her head. 'You shouldn't have to feel like this, it wasn't their story to tell.' He sighed. 'What if we just tell the truth?' She lifted her head on his chest and looked at him. 'We did met in an unusual way but our feelings are real.' She continued. 'I'll talk to Mary tomorrow.' He pecked her lips softly. 'Now I need you to stop thinking and rest a bit hmm?' He pulled the duvet over them and kept holding her.
'Robin Jonathan Locksley!' Regina frowned as she opened her eyes and tried to figure out who was so rudely awakening them, but before she had time to do that their bedroom door flew open and Robin's mother was barging in the room. 'Good morning mother.' Robin said as he sat up and stretched his arms above his head. 'What is that.. that girl still doing here?!' She almost screamed as she saw Regina. 'Why wouldn't Regina be here? We are together.' Mary appeared behind Robin's mother. 'I'm sorry sir.' Robin smiled at her and told her not to worry before looking at his mother again. 'She's a prostitute Robin.' Regina wanted to disappear, wanted nothing more than to be teleported to her own home, her own bed. 'If you are here to insult the woman I love you better leave.' Robin said angrily. 'The woman you love?' Eleanor laughed. 'You don't love her Robin, she's nothing like Mar..' He didn't let her finish. 'She's nothing like Marian, Regina is amazing, she cares for me like not even you do, she thinks of everyone else before she thinks of herself, she makes me a better person.' His mother shook her head in disapproval. 'This... girl ruins your entire career Robin, once you've paid her for the last time she'll leave your bed and jump right into another mans bed.' Robin quickly got up. 'That's enough, you can leave now.' He said and looked his mother right in her eyes. 'You don't get to talk to me like that!' Robin shook his head. 'You don't get to talk to Regina like that in our home mother, leave.' Eleanor shook her head and left the room. Robin quickly got back in to bed and pulled Regina close to him. 'I'm sorry love.'
