Beacon Academy
In the headmaster's office a man was coming to the end of a video conference with Vale's ruling council about the upcoming semester.
"Is there anything else we need to be aware of Ozpin," one of the members of the council questioned.
"Not unless you want to go over the financials once last time I don't think so," Ozpin responded trying not show how bored he was with this conversation.
"Very well, we will be in touch for our quarterly update," another voice said before the conference was ended.
'Politics, how dull,' Ozpin thought to himself as he made his way over to his desk and looked at several files that Glynda brought in earlier that morning. Separated into two piles, were who she thought were the more promising and interesting first years that will be joining them this year.
As he sat down, he took a sip of his freshly made hot cocoa as he sighed as the hot liquid hit the back of his throat before looking at what Glynda left for him to look over.
On his desk were files for Pyrrha Nikko's the so-called invincible girl, incredibly talented for her age group, a once in a generation genius, who is supposedly incredibly humble, and a generally good person based of her teachers reports from Sanctum.
'Our resident celebrity, and probably our best choice for that,' Ozpin thought as an image flashed in his mind of the currently comatose woman in the basement.
As he put her file to the side the next one was Yang Xiao- Long a resident powerhouse from Signal academy. A talented hand to hand brawler and the daughter of former students Taiyang and Raven. Only red flag was for her psych evaluation where she has shown issues about her mother disappearance and not being a part of her life.
'But what person wouldn't want answers,' Ozpin thought as he moved onto the next file.
'Ahh Glynda's younger sister,' Ozpin thought as he read name and began to flick through like previously.
A talented range and close quarter combat specialist with a powerful semblance to match, according to the psych eval she can be very timid and displays confidence issues often believes she is not good enough and compares herself to her sister all of the time.
'She is a young woman with time and support, she will hopefully grow out of that kind of mindset,'
"Up next Shikamaru Nara," Ozpin mumbled quietly to himself.
'I was so surprised to read this name in our applications list,' Ozpin thought back to when he first read this name, he had to back track as the Nara clan were notable assassins from Mistral's underworld along with Akamichi and Yamanaka clans.
As Ozpin continued to read over the file, he noted that Shikamaru held one the highest IQ's he had ever come across. He was a brilliant tactician with a knack for ranged combat and preferred to manipulate his opponents into falling into a position they cannot win. The only notable downside on the file was that the boy was extremely lazy.
"Laziness aside having an IQ of 200 plus is astonishing, though I wonder what Lady Miyabi has to say about all of this," Ozpin said aloud to himself as he placed down the file and reached for the next one.
"Ahh I'm surprised Miss Schnee chose to come here I figured she would have followed in her sister's footsteps and joined Atlas."
Her file was not surprising highly skilled in close range combat, dust manipulation, and highly proficient family semblance glyphs. Aura reserves are around average but has shown a great degree of control.
"Samui Ironwood, now this is another surprise," Ozpin said out loud "Never thought James would let his niece out of his sight."
As he read Samui's file he noted that she had incredibly high aura reserves and an elemental semblance and the fact she praised as mantle's resident genius for combat much like Miss Nikkos from Sanctum. As he continued to read it was noted she prefers close quarter combat but can be very destructive at a long range.
'It appears the word genius thrown around a lot more these days, I guess we will if it is true or not,' Ozpin thought to himself before putting the folder down.
'These are most prominent students to come from combat school's around remnant,' Ozpin thought before he reached for the other pile of files containing the future students that didn't attend the traditional trainer academies and got accepted through a combat examination.
'Nora Valkyrie,' Ozpin thought as he read what the examiners noted about the girl.
She is easily excitable but has the power to back it up, semblance is incredibly useful along with being incredibly proficient at both close and ranged combat. Her aura reserves are incredibly large, and she is also within the top five of the first-year students.
Ozpin picked up the next file with the name Lie Ren. Lie Ren is very calm individual with great discipline and hand to hand combat but lacks in stamina or has any decent ranged combat proficiency.
"Blake Belladonna, faunus, and former White Fang member, wanting to change her life around," Ozpin noted after personally witnessing her combat exam he could see that she was indeed skilled and definitely dangerous as Glynda did not forget to mention.
'Don't you get it yet, without the right guidance all of these children are dangerous, but with the right guidance a person could be a protector to the people, it is our responsibility to help guide these students on their journey.' Ozpin thought to himself
As Ozpin took a small break to clean his glasses, he noted the time and realised that the first batch of first year students would be arriving soon. He looked over to the pile he was currently going through and noted that he had only two more left.
"I have got time," he said to himself before reaching over to grab his coffee to take a sip and finish his reading.
"Miss Rose what a surprising find you were a diamond in the rough for sure," Ozpin said as he picked up her file from Signal academy.
Excels at close, mid and ranged combat with a weapon. Great at weapon design, and maintenance. Aura reserves higher than average for a girl of fifteen and trained by her father and her uncle. Semblance is speed and has a decent control over it.
'Let's not forget she has silver eyes much like her mother,' Ozpin thought to himself 'she is young but has a lot of potential.'
Before he could reach for the final file his scroll beeped, sighing before he reached over to answer it.
"Good morning Glynda, is it that time already," Ozpin said already knowing the answer.
"Professor the first of the airships will landing within the next five mins I would suggest you make your way to the courtyard now," Glynda said into her scroll while pushing up her glasses.
"Yes, yes Glynda I am on my way," Ozpin responded before hanging up and reaching for his cane and heading for the door leaving one last file on his desk to read over.
Airship
"I can't believe it, I get to go to Beacon academy with my bestie and my little sis," Yang said before scooping both Ruby and Erica in a massive squeezing the air out of them.
"Y-Y-YANG can't breathe," Erica managed to rasp out. "Also, Ruby is turning blue."
Yang released both girls who began to start taking in massive gulps of air.
"Ah you both were fine, you can stop over reacting, and besides I am so excited to be going to Beacon with you both," Yang said while dismissing the reactions from both her sister and friend.
As Yang to praise her sister Erica noticed the news broadcast mention an attempted dust robbery.
"Hey Ruby," Erica said getting the younger girl's attention.
"Isn't that the robbery you stopped?"
"Erm yeah at first it was this me and this guy kicking but with these goons and then an actual huntress turned up and then I got arrested," Ruby explained while illustrating with her arms the art of kicking butt.
Biting back a giggle from the younger girl's arm waves.
"Well your definitely Yang's sister, getting arrested at fifteen, bravo," Erica commented.
"Atta girl," Yang stepped in throwing more praise at Ruby.
"Also, Erica did I tell you Ruby has a crush on the guy that helped her out,"
"No, you didn't," Erica responded as she looked to Ruby for an explanation.
"YANG! It is not a crush he just had a cool weapon," Ruby denied with a slightly redder cheeks than normal.
'I was only teasing but is she blushing because she is embarrassed or is there actual truth to this,' Erica thought.
"Suure Rubes whatever you say," Yang said with a smirk. "How did you describe him when Dad and I picked you up from the station?"
'She is starting to match the red in her hair," Erica noted as Ruby had a full-blown blush.
"I-I said that a h-h-handsome guy helped me out with kick arse weapon, but don't forget he ditched me to, and I was arrested."
"The fact that you, you of all people weapons dork number one took notice of a guy is something but called him handsome and straddled him mid battle, I am calling as it is a crush," Yang said with a teasing grin, loving the torment she was inflicting on her baby sister.
"You straddled him oh my how daring," Erica chimed in on the teasing.
All the while ruby was so red it looked like steam would start coming out of her ears at any moment.
"Did get his scroll number or name at least,"
After a few moments of silence, the two older girls realised that Ruby wasn't responding to them.
"Yang I think she is giving us the silent treatment,"
"I think she is to. Fine Ruby you win for now, but we won't ask any more details, yet."
As the three girls from Signal continued their conversation elsewhere on the other end of the ship Nora was running back and forth window to window taking in the sights, while Lie Ren was on his knees quietly meditating trying to rid himself of any nerves for the next few days.
'I was never good at settling down in new places,' Ren thought to himself, as the news broadcast began showing info about the dust robbery Naruto helped stop. As he glanced over to his side to see Naruto standing up with eyebrow twitching as he was tapping his foot incredibly fast like he was annoyed at their current situation.
Ren knew what the problem was Naruto hates being bored and around ten minutes ago he was running like Nora window to window but to him the novelty of being high up wore off unlike Nora and now that he was bored it normally meant bad things for him as a target of his pranking.
Just as Ren began to shuffle away from one of his closest friends before he gets hit with a prank or something embarrassing.
'What the?' Ren thought as he looked at Naruto who looked like he was going to be ill, grabbed his makeshift headband and unfolded it to be a bandana he wrapped around his lower face to cover his nose and mouth.
It wasn't until a blonde kid came sprinting passed mumbling about being sick did, he realise what happened.
Ren looked over to where the boy had been standing, he noticed a small pool of sick in the corner.
"Are you ok, we will be there soon alright," Ren said as he reached over and put a hand on Naruto's shoulder.
Naruto just nodded doing his very best to ignore whatever that guy had for breakfast because his vomit smelt disgusting.
"I just need some fresh air asap," Naruto said from underneath his bandana.
Further up the ship, back with the three Signal graduates both Erica and Ruby where moving away from Yang.
"Gross, Yang you have puke on your shoe," Ruby stated moving away from her sister.
"Gross, gross, gross, gross," Yang repeated as she began to hop around to shake off the vomit.
"Yang get away from us," as Erica began to move away with Ruby.
After around about five minutes went by before the airship landed, and the doors opened up.
"I will catch up with you and Nora later," Naruto before he sprinted past everyone so fast to get off of the ship.
"Does he have a speed semblance," one random student asked, before the other students began to file out of the airship.
After getting some distance away from the ship Naruto pulled down his bandanna slightly taking in a deep inhale letting his nose getting fresh clean air in hopefully getting the smell out his nose.
Beacon Academy
"Man, sometimes being a faunus sucks, stupid sensitive nose, most times you are great. Times like that suck," Naruto said to himself before he took a look around and saw the outside of Beacon academy in all of its glory.
"Wow, this place looks amaz-," Naruto didn't finish before an explosion occurred nearby.
'Who the hell has blown something up already it has not even been five minutes since we arrived,' Naruto thought to himself as he went to go investigate.
As Naruto found the location of the of the explosion, he saw a girl he recognised from the other night being yelled at by a white-haired girl with a lot of luggage. As Naruto got closer another with a black white motif joined the other two girls before the girl in white stormed off as some guys collected her things and the girl in black just walked off leaving Ruby alone.
After seeing the girl in black walk off just sank to her knees very overwhelmed.
"Welcome to Beacon," Ruby said to herself before a shadow cover her face and she heard a familiar voice.
"Well now, Lil Red, you don't call, you don't write, I don't just kick arse with just any cute girl I see you know," Naruto said as he stood over the young girl offering her his hand to help her up.
As Ruby opened her eyes silver met silver, as she reached and took his hand to get up.
"It's you," Ruby stated as she pointed at Naruto.
"It's me," Naruto as held up his hands as she pointed at his chest.
"Y-you abandoned and let me get arrested,"
"Erm yeah sorry about that, I thought you would be fine, and I had to get my friends dinner," Naruto said with an honest smile.
"Yeah well apology not accepted," Ruby stated as she pouted in an adorable manner.
'Gahh too cute,' "Fine I'll make it up to you at some point how bout that,"
Ruby just nodded along. She took look at the guy who helped her out the other night who was dressed pretty much the same with the only difference was the orange and black bandanna around his neck.
'Man, what a weird kid,' "Oh right I just remember did you happen to see a dust explosion discharge around here. Normally my friend Nora is the cause, but I can't smell her near here so did you see anything,"
"I have no idea about you are talking about," Ruby responded while turning slightly away as she was always a terrible liar and always gave it away.
Naruto looked at the girl funny before he began to sniff around her getting closer and closer.
"H-hey what are you doing," Ruby stuttered out as boy was getting closer to her like real close.
"Sorry you just smell like dust, so it makes me think you were involved, were you?"
"You can smell dust on me?" Ruby said with a look of confusion on her face.
"She blew up," a new voice called out as he made his way over to the duo.
"Ah ha it was you, that was pretty big sized explosion shrimp good on ya," Naruto applauded as he patted the young girl on the back with a smile.
"I'm Jaune by the way," the blonde guy announced as he held out his hand for the others.
Ruby was about to reach out and shake the new boy's hand before Naruto spoke up.
"Aren't you the kid who threw up on the ship?" Naruto asked just before Ruby could fully commit to the handshake.
"Your Vomit boy!" Ruby shouted out causing Jaune to groan and Naruto to laugh out loud.
A little later Ruby, Naruto and Jaune could be found exploring the grounds of Beacon academy while getting to know one another.
"All I'm saying is that motion sickness is a lot more common problem than people let on," Jaune said trying to defend his earlier trouble.
"I'm sorry, vomit boy was the first thing that came to mind," Ruby apologised
"It was great timing though," Naruto piped up.
"Oh yeah what if I called you crater face,"
"Hey that explosion was an accident,"
"wow your both pouting," Naruto piped up again just because it was fun to rile them up.
"Well the name is Jaune Arc short, sweet, rolls off the tongue and ladies love it."
"Do they," Ruby and Naruto deadpanned in sync.
"They will, my mum always says tha-. You know what never mind," Jaune said.
After a couple of seconds as awkward silence. Ruby pulls out her weapon transforming it into a scythe and stabbing it into the ground.
"Whoa is that a scythe?"
"No shit sherlock," Naruto said sarcastically
"Who is sherlock?"
"It is a scythe, but it is also a customisable high impact sniper rifle," Ruby said before cocking the rifle.
"A wha," Jaune said with evident confusion on his face.
"A gun, she said it's a gun," Naruto said
"Thank you, Naruto."
"That's cool," Jaune said as he admired the weapon.
"So, what do you have" Ruby asked directing her question at Jaune.
Jaune pulled out his sword and unfolded his shield and struck a pose.
"I have a sword and shield," Jaune declared.
"So, what do the they do?
"The shield gets smaller, so when I get tired of carrying it, I can make it smaller."
'But wouldn't it still weigh the same,' Naruto thought to himself.
"But wouldn't still weigh the same,"
'Thank you, Ruby for asking that for me,'
"Yeah it does," Jaune said in a dejected tone. "What about you," Jaune asked directing it at Naruto.
"I got these two," Naruto said as he pointed down to his waist and directed them to the axes attached to his belt.
"And this is my main girl," As he reached up and pulled of his sword, I call her benihime or translated it mean crimson princess.
"Whoa," Jaune said again as he looked at the sword taking in every detail.
"I'm so lame," Jaune stated.
"I doubt that," Ruby said trying to make the blonde guy feel better. "I am a bit off a weapons dork so I may have gone over the top in its design.
"The woman who made this for me, is a mad scientist type but she taught me enough to allow me improve and enhance the sword,"
"Wait you made that," Jaune asked.
"Err yeah every student at Signal academy has to make their own weapon. Didn't you?"
"Nah it's a hand me down,"
"Well good on ya. Not many people appreciate a classic stabbing or slashing weapon," Naruto offered.
"Erm guys I think we are lost," Ruby said as she looked around and they were only people around.
"Anyone know where are," Naruto asked the other two before they both shook their heads as a negative. "Oh crapbaskets."
Naruto looked at the sword in his hand then over at Jaune before moving over to Ruby.
'Perfect," Naruto thought to himself.
"What do you say Lil Red since no one is around, want to have a spar pass the time," Naruto offered.
Ruby looked confused.
"You have scythe, I have a sword, we click, we clang my weapon is out and so is yours, let's go for it," Naruto offered, with a dangerous glint in his eyes.
'Erm what does Yang always say,' Ruby thought as she tried to figure out how to respond to this boy.
"All you have to do is match their confidence," a chibi version of Yang spoke to her before throwing up a peace sign.
Ruby began to twirl her weapon all the while gaining an equally dangerous glint, in her eyes.
"Yeah no more awkward small talk, fighting I can do," Ruby shot back.
"Erm guys, I don't think we have time why don't you guys spar when we find out where we need to go," Jaune said waving his hands getting in between the two.
Ozpins Office
After meeting with some of the staff members and meeting some of the new students Ozpin returned back to his office to finish off the reports and get fresh batch of cocoa brewing.
After a couple of minutes Ozpin sat down with a hot freshly made hot cocoa
'Ahhh the greatest invention ever,' Ozpin thought after taking a sip of the hot beverage.
Ozpin reached for the last file in his desk and he pulled it out and opened it up.
"Naruto Vulpez," Ozpin said the name aloud as opened the file and looked at the image, and what he saw shocked him to the core as he dropped his mug of coffee.
'How?' Ozpin thought as he looked at the photograph of the boy, before he began reading through the young man's file with greater vigour.
"How is it possible it can't be him, it just can't, he had died back then," Ozpin said as he was flicking through the file of Naruto Vulpez.
Ozpin stared at the photo for a few more minutes before placing the file inside his desk determined to solve this mystery another day.
Ozpin got up began to make his way to meet Glynda at the Amphitheatre to give first year's introductory speech, normally he would put more energy into it but with this new mystery plaguing his thought his mind was elsewhere.
Amphitheatre
"I think we are in the right spot now," Jaune commented on the gathering of teens in the room.
Naruto just stuck his tongue at Jaune, slightly annoyed at the fact he denied a spar, he was bored damn it, but at least Ruby promised to spar with him the next chance they were free.
The three teens carried on into the room before a shout got their attention.
"Hey, hey Ruby over here we saved you a space," Yang called out as she spotted Ruby enter the room.
Ruby then turned to the guys she was walking with to say goodbye.
"Hey, I got to go but I'll see you both after the ceremony," Ruby before running off.
"Yeah see you later Lil' Red," Naruto called out before he began scanning the room until he spotted an excited Nora bouncing around Ren.
Naruto turned to Jaune and patted him on the back.
"Looks like I'm off to but catch you later vomit boy," Naruto teased before walking off.
"Wait," Jaune said before his two new friends walked off. "Great now where am I going to find nice, somewhat quirky people to talk to," Jaune said as he began to walk off.
"So, how's your first day going little sister," Yang asked with a smile.
"What you mean since you two ditched me, and I exploded."
"Yikes meltdown already,"
"Only you Ruby, it's been what half a day," Erica chimed in as she finished looking at her scroll.
"No, I literally blew a hole in the school, there was fire and ice I think."
"Erm," Erica had no clue what to say this girl. 'Is she serious?'
"Are you being sarcastic," Yang said still not really believing his sister.
"I wish, I tripped over some crabby girls luggage, and then she yelled at me, and then I sneezed, and then I EXPLODED, then more yelling and I felt really, really bad and I wanted her to stop yelling at me," Ruby said at such a fast pace before being interrupted and leapt into her sisters arms.
On the other side of the hall as Naruto made his way through the hall, he spotted a few more interesting people a beautiful red head in bronze armour standing next to guy who looked like he asleep standing up.
As he continued on his way to his friends, he could hear some shouting behind him, so he turned around to see the commotion.
As he turned around, he felt something crash into him, so as he turned around and looked towards the floor, he saw a blonde teen rubbing the back of her head.
"Oh, shit sorry bout that," Naruto said before offering his hand to help her up.
"That was not cool," the blonde muttered to herself before she grabbed a hold of the hand letting herself getting pulled up to her feet.
The girl looked at the guy who knocked her down.
'By Oum, he is built like rock solid,' she thought as she remembered how muscular he felt like. She noticed that his wasn't huge and not too bulky. He had silver eyes, red hair like her rival from Mistral and whisker like marks on his cheeks.
"Silver, that's cool" the blonde woman said before shaking the hand that she had yet to let go of. "I'm Samui, what's your name?"
Unaware that she was checking him out like he was her as they had locked eyes with the blonde woman with frosty coloured blue eyes, short blonde hair and quite low-cut top. Naruto was snapped out it by the sound of her voice commenting on his eyes.
"Thanks, yours aren't so bad yourself, and I am Naruto," He introduced himself as he returned the shake.
"Hopefully we can get know one another, but I have to go look for my friends," Samui said.
"Yeah I am doing the same," Naruto said as the both went back to their respective searches.
Naruto scanned the room once more and found the Nora and Ren nearby and continued heading towards them.
"Hey guys how are your first days so far," Naruto asked as Nora finally stood still to greet the final member of their trinity.
'Naruto thank fuck you're here' Ren thought he loved Nora to bits, but she was much easier to handle when the both of them was around.
With Samui she could hear Weiss shouting at someone as she walked towards the voice.
As she reached the position of where Weiss's voice was coming from, she her friend shoving a Schnee company leaflet into another girl's arms.
"Weiss what's going on?" Samui paused as she looked at three other girls next to Weiss. "I've been looking for you all day, it's not cool to make someone wait around you know."
Weiss turned around to the sound of the newcomer's voice with an apologetic smile.
"Samui my apologies I got held up longer then I expected," Weiss said but before she could say more a much louder voice came from the stage, grabbing everyone's attention.
Up on the stage there were two people both who Ruby recognised. Walking up to mic was the headteacher of the school Professor Ozpin
"Ehem. I will keep this brief. You have travelled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. Unfortunately, I look amongst you and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, a direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but you will learn from your time here that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step," Ozpin said before walking off to the side and the blonde woman next to him stood up to the microphone.
"You will gather at the barn tonight. Tomorrow is when your initiation begins. Be ready, you are dismissed."
"Short, sweet and to the point," Naruto said out loud before Nora looked at him expectantly.
Naruto just sighed before taking his sword off of his back and handing to Nora.
Nora grabbed his sword as she jumped onto his back and pointed out the building to random location.
"Too the barn my noble steed," Nora shouted while waving his sword around like woman possessed.
"Troublesome woman," Naruto muttered with no real malice in his tone at all as the rest of the students began to make their way out of the amphitheatre.
Causing Ren and Nora to crack up laughing. Both Ren and Naruto always had a hard time saying no to her and to make it worse she knew it.
Barn
A little while later pretty much all of the students were getting ready for bed as they had a big day the following morning.
Naruto was in the shower rooms of the building they were all staying in. Ren and Nora had already headed into the sleeping area to get ready for bed.
As Naruto was standing under the hot water, he appeared to be deep in thought as he was holding onto a small crystal gem that his mother gave him when he was younger.
"Hey ma, I know it's been a long time since I spoke to you, but guess what," Naruto choked up slightly at the thought of his mother.
"I made it to Beacon, and I am going train hard just like you did. Life since that day has not been easy let me tell you that, but I always take your words to heart, ya know. It took me a very long time to come to terms with you, Menma's and grandad's death and for the longest time I was in a very dark place." Naruto paused as he thought back to the time when him, Ren and Nora were a lot younger, starving, homeless moving from place to place.
"If it wasn't for Nora and Ren, I probably would have drowned in all of that hatred, but they pulled me out of the dark." Naruto thought back to both Nora and Ren had to tackle him down to stop him from going to the fighting pits each night to make money especially after the last time he was there he got the shit kicked out of him by an older lad.
"Now I know an underground fighting pit is no place for a thirteen year old boy, but back then, I was still trying to make the pain stop," Naruto sadly chuckled as tears began form in the comer of his eyes.
"Nevertheless, there was always still good times along the way," Naruto's mind flashed to every meal and training session he had done with Nora and Ren.
"And now here I am, at the school where you told that you met dad, and even if I never meet him in my life, I'm going to make both you, old man Kurama and Menma proud. With my power even if I can only save one person, I will always try to do the right thing and to never give up." Naruto ended before he released the necklace and started to wipe away the tears that had been building up.
'Dammit I always get emotional whenever I speak to ma,' Naruto thought as he began to turn and stepped the shower and wrapped a towel around his waist.
As he made it to the changing area with his assigned locker number on it, he began to dry off while taking out his clean sleepwear.
As he changed into some sleepwear consisting of a vest top and a pair of sport shots with a hole in the back to allow his tail to come through. Naruto sat on a bench and started to brush his tail, it was must do after shower for Faunus who didn't want the furry appendage to frizz up and it was one of the first things his mother taught him when he was growing up.
As he was getting into the brushing, he began to hum an old tune his mother used to sing for him as child. About midway through the tune Naruto noticed he wasn't alone.
"You can come out now, Lil' Red," Naruto called out while not stopping his brushing.
"Eeep!" was all Ruby managed to get out before she tripped over her two feet and she landed with swirls in her eyes.
"We got to stop meeting like this Lil' Red," Naruto said as he got up and walked over to give her a hand up.
Ruby was blushing in embarrassment about the situation while went back over to his bench to pack up the rest of his stuff.
"So, want to tell what the spying was about?" Naruto asked with a quirked eyebrow as he looked over his shoulder.
"Erm well I was looking for the bathroom and its late and most of the lights are off and its dark and then I found the bathroom but on my way back I saw the light on in here and heard someone humming a tune then I found out it was and I didn't want to interrupt." Ruby speed explained.
Luckily for her Naruto was used to explanations at rapid pace.
'Thank you, Nora.'
"Well now, I hope this doesn't change anything between us," Naruto said as he looked down directing Ruby eyes down to his tail swaying back and forth slowly.
"Erm why would anything change?" Ruby asked with such an innocence Naruto's jaw dropped.
"Well now, I was not expecting that kind of response," Naruto laughed to himself before turning around to fully face the young woman behind him.
'Never change Lil' Red, never change.'
Naruto extended his left hand in a closed fist while his other hand scratched the back of his head.
"So, Lil' Red, I am Naruto Vulpez. Fox faunus, badass and future huntsman extraordinaire," Naruto said with a bright smile. "I hope we can still be friends?"
Following Day
Naruto woke up with a grunt as felt a weight on his chest, as he opened his eyes saw one of his closest friends sitting on his chest with an impish grin on her face.
"Morning to you to," Naruto yawned out as he covered his mouth. After a couple more moments of getting his bearings he looked back up to Nora.
"You know this is the boy's side of the room, right?"
"Yup," Nora said putting more emphasis on the P.
"And you don't care right," Naruto questioned
"Nope,"
"You want pancakes don't you," Naruto realised after the smell of pancakes wafted in the air from the dining hall and he noticed Nora was already fully dressed.
"Oh, what a beautiful morning," Nora began to sing at the thought of pancakes.
Naruto just sighed while Nora got off of his chest and started to wake up Ren.
"Wake up lazy butt," Nora said to Ren in a chipper tone.
As Ren began to sit up Nora continued to sing.
"It's morning, it's morning, it's morning,"
The three friends headed to the bathroom to start getting dressed while Nora brushed her teeth.
"I can't believe we have been at Beacon for a full twenty-four hours, not that I thought we would get kicked out or anything," Nora took a breath before continuing. "Ren is the perfect student, Naruto and I well we are us, you know." Nora continued while the boys brushed their teeth.
Naruto snorted at that, him and Nora were probably really bad students academically. They weren't stupid just found it extremely hard to focus on subjects that bored them, it just so happens outside of combat a lot bored them.
As they left the bathroom Ren began packing up his sleep kit while Nora and Naruto were brushing their hair and tail respectively.
"We've been friends for so long what are the odds that all three of us would still be together," Nora continued on at one hundred miles a minute. "Well not together, together. Not that I'm not saying you both are handsome. You are both really handsome Ren is pretty boy handsome, while Naruto is more ruggedly handsome, but would just be weird right?"
As the trio left the barn for the dining room and three stacks of pancakes later. Nora devour the pancakes like it was her last meal, while Naruto was halfway through his own stack, while Ren was eating at more sedate pace.
Before Nora could start speaking again Naruto pointed his fork at her grabbing Nora attention while she had a pancake in her mouth.
"Nora, I love you but no talking with your mouthful," Naruto said simply.
Nora just swallowed her food before continuing.
"We should come up with some sort of plan, so we end up on the same team together, why don't we bribe the headmaster," Nora paused for a moment before shaking her head. "That won't work he has a school."
That last bit made Naruto chuckle, only problem was he was mid mouthful, so he began choking.
"Oh no Naruto," Nora cried out before zipping around the table and reared her arm back as Ren's eyes widened.
"Nora NO!" Ren cried out as she slapped Naruto back, hard causing Naruto to stop chocking as the pancake was spat out.
"I'm sorry Ren did you say something," Nora questioned before she and Naruto began sniggering.
The piece of chewed up pancake that Naruto manage to spit out thanks to Nora had landed square against Ren's forward.
He wiped it off with a mortified look on his breaking his cool guy look before it quickly returned.
"I think I've lost my appetite," He said simply before handing his plate to Nora to head to the bathroom.
With Nora and Naruto what started out as giggles turned into full blown laughter at Ren's face. This caused some of the other students to look at them funny, but they didn't care.
'I'm sure he'll be fine in a little while' Naruto thought to himself as he finished the rest of their pancakes.
The duo met back up with Ren in the weapons locker as he was getting Stormflower from his locker.
Naruto splintered off while Nora continued with her mad plan. As he went towards his own locker. After opening it up he grabbed his axes and reattached them onto his belt, and then grabbed his baby revved the sword once just to make sure everything sound like it was working correctly, doing some standard maintenance checks he placed the sword onto his back letting the magnets in the seam of his coat take hold and lock it into place.
As Naruto turned away from his locker, he saw Ren and Nora head over to Nora's locker.
'Probably to get Magnhild,' Naruto thought before spotting Ruby talking to a blonde.
Ruby looked behind Yang spotting her friend coming away from his own locker.
"Naruto over here I want you to meet someone," Ruby called out waving her arms to grab his attention.
Yang turned around to see a tall wild looking red head approach them with a warm smile.
"Hey Lil' Red you all good," Naruto said extending his hand for a fist bump.
Ruby extended her own small fist and connected while Yang's eyes widened.
'My sister and a hot older guy, what the heck is going on,' Yang watched the interaction.
"Naruto this is my sister Yang," Ruby pointing at her sister.
"Yang, this is Naruto my new friend and he is the guy from the robbery the other day," Ruby finished.
'Be cool please be cool, and don't embarrass me,' Ruby prayed to whatever deities were listening for Yang to be cool.
Naruto looked between the two sisters not seeing a resemblance.
Used to seeing that kind of look before Yang stepped up.
"Same dad different mums."
"Oh cool, cool. Well are you guys ready for this morning."
"Firstly, yes I'm ready for a yanging time," Yang quipped causing Ruby to groan and Naruto to snicker.
"Not bad, not bad and what about you Lil' Red," Naruto asked.
"With my baby, I'm ready to let my skills do all the talking and I am not little," Ruby announced as she showed off Crescent Rose.
"Whatever you say Lil' Red."
'Wow,' Yang thought 'Never thought I would see the day my little sis is interested in actual people instead of weapons and our dog.'
"Will all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliffs, for initiation. Again, will all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliffs immediately," A voice called out over the intercom system.
As Naruto began heading out with Yang and Ruby, they came across Jaune. Leaning against a locker on the ground.
"Hey lady killer," Yang joked.
"I don't were I went wrong. My dad said all women look for is confidence."
"Calling her snow angel probably wasn't the best start," Yang said while Naruto help him up to his feet.
'Wish I could help I just don't get girls in general and they are really confusing,' Naruto thought, before making his way with the others towards the cliffs.
Beacon Cliffs
Standing in a line on some stone slabs were the first-year students in front of them were the head teacher Ozpin and another instructor Glynda.
"For years you have trained to become warriors, today your abilities will be evaluated in the emerald forest." Ozpin said before taking a sip of his drink as looked at each student.
"I'm sure many of you have heard rumours of the assignment of teams," Glynda spoke up. "Allow us to bring an end to any confusion, you will be given teammates, today."
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time at Beacon. So, it is in your best interest for you to be paired with someone whom you can work well. That being said the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years." Ozpin said in a serious tone.
This announcement among the students caused some murmurs Ozpin just cleared his throat and silence once again reigned.
"After you have partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path or you will die."
After Ozpin finished talking Ren face palmed as the destroy everything in your path line repeated in his head.
'Between Nora and Naruto, the forest may never recover,' Ren thought at the levels of destruction just those two can cause alone.
"You will be monitored and graded duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics, each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff," Ozpin paused before looking at each of the students.
"Are there any questions?" Ozpin asked.
Jaune stuck his hand up. "Um yeah sir," was all he managed to get before Ozpin interrupted him.
Naruto and Nora snickered at that.
"Good now take your positions."
Erica looked towards her sister standing next to the headmaster, when they locked eyes, Erica nodded just to let her sister know that she going to be ok.
Everyone but Jaune got ready for anything to happen next.
"Um sir I've got a question," Jaune said just as Weiss was launched into the air.
"So, this landing strategy thing, um what is it, you're like dropping us off or something?" Jaune asked as several more people were launched into the air.
"No, you will be falling," Ozpin said completely deadpan.
"Oh, I see so, like did you hand out parachutes for us?" Jaune asked as Nora got launched.
"Nope, you will be using your own landing strategy," Ozpin remained completely serious.
'This back and forth is brilliant,' Naruto thought as he was chuckling not at all thinking about being launched into a forest with no parachute.
Yang looked over to her sister before winking and pulling out some shades just before she was launched. Shortly followed by Ruby.
"So, what exactly is a landing strate-," Jaune wasn't able to finish as he was abruptly launched into the air.
"Saw that coming," Naruto chuckled to himself, before he too was launched into the air.
With Samui she had decided to keep it simple land on the ground early then use her speed to sprint north towards the relics as quickly as possible. As she aimed for the closest and largest tree and began any thinner trees in her way, she began cutting straight through them with her blades before. Just as she reached the biggest, she lodged both blades into the thick trunk before hoping off simply landing before sprinting north.
As Naruto flew through the air, he could see several students ahead of him, begin their landing strategies. He spotted Jaune just spinning out of control and looked like he was about crash hard.
'Shit does he seriously not have away to land even with aura a landing from this height will still cause some serious damage,' Naruto thought before he noticed a glint from the corner of his eye.
Naruto's eye widened when he saw what was coming at him.
'Shit,' Naruto thought as he shifted his body weight to rotate slightly out of the way as a spear flew past him lightly scratching his chest, just scraping against his aura before reaching its actual target.
"Thank you" Jaune voice called out in the distance.
"I'm sorry," another voice didn't recognise shouted out.
"Hey where's my Oum damned apology you almost hit me dammit," Naruto shouted back.
'Jaune not the only one who nearly got impaled dammit,' Naruto seethed.
"I'm sorry," that voice from earlier rang out again.
Naruto ignored it as pink beam ripped through the air propelling another student further.
'At least there are other kids as crazy as Nora and me,' Naruto thought to himself. 'Only crazy people need that kinda firepower.'
Before another thing else could happen, Naruto focused on his own landing strategy.
'Got it,' Naruto thought after a few brief moments before he unhooked his axes from his belt.
As he fell into the tree line he targeted the thickest branch before lodging his axes into the branch itself allowing for him to use his momentum swing around the thick branch and place his feet on the branch kicking off of it just after dislodging his axes in on fluid motion as he broke through the tree line once more until he found what he was looking for.
'Perfect,' Naruto thought as he leaned forward and began to lean forward picking up speed while the world began to spin Naruto exactly where his target was.
"DOUBLE DYNAMIC ENTRYYYYYYYYY," Naruto shouted out just as he unfolded, causing the grimm to look in his direction as he landed flush on the largest beringel's face with two feet planted on its ape like face before it was launched into its troop, as Naruto just back flipped, landed on his feet and launched both of his axes into two more beringel lodging them both deep into both grimm's masks.
"Jackpot!"
Elsewhere above Emerald forest.
"This is such a drag," Shikamaru sighed as he was flung through the air.
Shikamaru was fully kitted out with both of his guns along with his trench knives. He scanned the area looking for a decent place to land. He spotted Pyrrha launching her spear at the weak looking blonde.
'Whatever none of my business' he thought has began to fall through the treeline.
Just as he approached the ground, he activated his semblance turning his shadow into a vector slowing his decent almost completely. Just as his feet touched the floor held his guns up while he scanned the area.
As he looked around, he realised he could hear fighting just up ahead.
Shikamaru continued heading towards the sound of combat.
'I hope I don't have a troublesome partner,'
It took roughly around forty seconds for Shikamaru to brake through the tree line and his eyes widened slightly at the scene. A red head was just cleaving through a beringel from head to crotch. That's not what surprised the Nara clan member.
'Just how many did he kill,' Shikamaru thought as he scanned the battlefield there appeared to have been an entire troop of beringel.
'A troop of beringel often contain what fifteen to twenty grimm, but the sound of fighting only started what a less than a minute ago.'
Naruto looked up after cutting down another beringel as he made eye contact another person, someone well he didn't recognise.
"Hi, I'm Naruto," waved at the newcomer as he slung his sword onto his shoulder as the latest beringel began to dissolve.
Out of nowhere two more beringel leap out the trees and just as they where about to bring their massive fists down on the distracted Naruto. Two shots rang out hitting both grimm in head straight through the mask causing them to dissolve before they even landed.
Naruto still had a grin on his face, despite the threat of death.
"Your good," Naruto stated simply.
"And you are going to be troublesome, all red heads are," Shikamaru shot back.
"Damn right we are," Naruto declared before walking up to his partner for next for years and offered a closed fist.
"Well then partner shall we be on our way." Naruto asked with the wildest grin Shikamaru had ever seen.
High in the air above Emerald forest Erica was flying she could hear the sound of Ember Celica going off propelling yang into the distance.
Erica turned her back to the forest before flicking a switch on her rifle. She glanced behind her just to make sure she was still high enough above the tree line. Once she was happy with distance, she pulled the trigger.
At first nothing happened, but as more time passed the rifle's muzzle began to glow pink and the light was getting brighter and brighter before a beam shot out of the rifle at such a speed it propelled Erica passed Yang as she waved at her best friend as she passed while yang flipped her the bird before falling through the tree line.
Just as the ammunition supplying that laser ran Erica unsurprisingly fell to the ground but sticking the landing by rolling through and as soon as she came to a stop, she ejected the used dust cartridge before placing a new one in and switching the gun back from spartan laser mode to single shot mode. Before Erica could move, she could here sound of someone going even further than her as she looked up a girl in pink was standing on her hammer.
"Well you don't see that every day," She said to herself before heading North.
"I mean you don't see a beam cannon in the arms of a teenage girl that all that often," a voice rang out from behind Erica as she turned to face the origin of the voice, they made eye contact.
"The name is Samui and it looks like you and I are going to be partners from now on, I hope that's cool with you."
Erica just pointed her gun towards Samui who ducked out of the way of the shot. As there was now a dust round lodged into mouth of an Alpha Beowulf that tried to sneak up on Samui. Erica just took a breath before unloading about a few more rounds into the beast to make sure it's actually dead.
Samui also saw something behind her partner so she activated her electric enhanced speed before flashing towards her partner and leaping over her and the ursa standing over Erica and slashed through the nape of the neck as she landed its head fell to the ground before dissolving into nothing.
"Thanks for the save. My name is Erica, I guess we should head north then," Erica said with a smile.

Yes, I'm making Kurama Kushina's father I might do a bio for his and other deceased characters just to let you know what they can do along with flashback if it goes with the story.
Kushina's mother had silver eyes and passed them on to her who then passed it onto her sons.
There is an official pairing I have in mind but I'm going to build to it make it more realistic and in mean time people will go on dates and be with other people it may work out, it may not.
What do you guys think so far do you guys like the interactions between characters and am I doing a decent job with the action scenes, they are always the hardest to do.
