When Hank and I got this case from a cat woman in a different planet, we didn't know what to think of. I always believe in science fiction, but I didn't expect to see an element of fantasy such as that woman who came to our doorstep asking for help in looking for her daughter. We should have seen it coming from one of the elements of a private detective which is called a 'femme fatale'. Good thing I'm an android to tell that she is telling the truth about her intentions.
"We're here," Hank said our arrival to Etheria. Well, to one area of the planet which is the Fright Zone. "The last place where Queen C'yra's child was last seen."
"Judging on the look of things, the Fright Zone has been abandoned," I commented on my observation.
"So what do you think the hell happened here?" Hank asked.
"Perhaps by investigating the place, we'll find out."
"Good idea. Where we should look?"
"This place is bigger, so we should split up."
"Okay, how do we do that?"
"I'll look in Hordak's lab and the security cameras, while you look at C'yra's bedroom and garage."
One of the most important things to do in investigating is splitting up, especially when you found yourself investigating a larger area. As I went to the lab, I saw a lot of holes were cut through the walls. Large holes; it's as if a fight broke out. By finding more wreckage, I saw where the fighting lasts. I saw broken bits of a device, and I analyzed it to see it's a hand cannon used by Hordak. I saw green liquid nearby, and I licked it to see whose blood is this, if I'm not mistaken. It's from Hordak. It would seem that he got into a fight with someone before his disappearance.
The question is, whom did he have a fight with?
That question will be answered when I decided to take a look at the security cameras in this area. There's Hank looking into C'yra's bedroom before leaving the area to look into the garage. I focused on the lab where Hordak had fought... C'yra? It looks like she's all grown up. I wonder what was the fight about, so I turned the audio on that camera.
"I know about Entrapta," Hordak said angrily, pointing his hand cannon at C'yra.
"Entrapta was a traitor. What else is there to know?" C'yra said, looking injured herself.
"I trusted you."
So that's what it is about. C'yra did something to Entrapta, and that just pissed Hordak off. I decided to look more into this fight until I get to the end. Now I know why there's a lot of wreckage in the lab. What bothered me about this footage is that C'yra said that she didn't need Entrapta, Adora, Scorpia, and Hordak. That means she has a toxic personality, and that made me realize that getting her back is going to be much harder. I have to come up with some ways for her redemption to be realized. So far, her getting chewed out by some shapeshifting lizard for being toxic enough to push them away might just give her a possible chance for redemption. Well, five percent in my standards.
Guess that's all I can find for now. I waited for Hank outside the Fright Zone.
"What did you find?" I asked him first.
"Well, I found her diary, but her name there is Catra, not C'yra," he replied. "Also, there's nothing to look at the garage since all the tanks used for invading kingdoms are all empty."
"I see..."
"You?"
"I saw much wreckage in the lab, and I looked at the cameras that there was a fight between C'yra and Hordak right before they disappeared."
"What the hell is happening in this fucking planet?"
That is one mystery we needed to solve so that we can look for Queen C'yra's child.
Good thing Her Majesty had left us a map to Etheria. After investigating the Fright Zone, we went to rest a bit in the Whispering Woods.
"I tell ya, Connor. Having to solve a case in a planet far, far away from Earth is going to be one big, fucking brain teaser," Hank commented.
"I agree with you on that one, Hank. This is our first time investigating a case outside of Earth," I said in return.
"So, what's next?" Hank asked on what we should do next.
"Since we don't have much clues in our investigation, we'll just have to interrogate some people that might know her," I replied. "Adora, Scorpia, and Entrapta."
"If you two are looking for them, they hang out in a kingdom known as Bright Moon," we turned to see a teenage girl telling us this, and she is not alone. With her is a teenage boy and a teenage brutish lizard. I analyzed them, and I see that they are former Horde soldiers. The lizard is Rogelio, the boy is Kyle, and the girl is Lonnie. "What do you want with them, anyway?"
"We were hired by the cat queen to look for her child," Hank replies as he shows them the picture of the child. "Do you know her?"
The three examines the photo closely, and Lonnie looked at us next to say her opinion.
"I see..." she said, looking calm. "You should talk to those three people that you mentioned for more information about her, especially Adora. She was closest to her before she left the Horde."
With that in mind, they left our side.
"Can we trust them, Connor?" Hank asked suspiciously about them.
"They're former Horde soldiers, so yes," I replied in a simple tone as we continue our walk. "Let's go to Bright Moon, and interrogate those three. Perhaps they can help us piece together C'yra's personality."
"Piece together C'yra's personality? What the hell are you talking about?" he asked the obvious question.
"I just found out from the surveillance cameras in the Fright Zone that she has a toxic personality. Even if we do find her, she won't listen to what we'll say to her. Hence I'm trying to build her profile if there should be any chances for her redemption. Think of it like my case. I became a deviant all because I had too much software instability, or empathy as you called it. That's enough for me to rebel against my programming."
"In other words, if we understand C'yra's character, then we might have a shot in getting her back?"
"That's exactly it."
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go to Bright Moon!"
And so we go to Bright Moon.
