Welcome to chapter 5 of Galactic Heroes and things are getting interesting.
Happy Harbour:
At their house, M'gann and Connor were sat down watching a movie together: it had been a month since they got married, obtained a new power called Photon Earth thanks to Zatanna's magic. But there had been no trouble so Connor didn't have to transform which meant he had more time to spend with his wife. What the couple didn't know was that the Tri-Squad were worried as they hadn't had any trouble from anyone and Darkseid was still out there.
Connor was about to get up and do him and M'gann a drink when they heard knocking on the front door so while Connor did the drinks, M'gann walked over and opened the door to reveal Dick Grayson.
"Hey Dick, what brings you here?" M'gann asked with a smile as she hugged Dick. "Come in." M'gann told him so Dick walked in to see Connor pouring coffee into two cups.
"I came to tell you that Zatanna has found something," Dick told them, then Zatanna walked in holding a huge book. "Something for the Tri-Squad to boost up their powers." Dick told them which caused Taiga, Titas and Fuma to appear in their holographic forms.
"What is it that you've discovered?" Connor asked as he walked over and handed M'gann a cup of coffee. "And how can it boost up their power?" Connor was curious as was the Tri-Squad.
"I found this when I was researching," Zatanna told them as she opened the book to reveal a mystic item. "This sword is rumored to have enough power to overpower the Sun. But it's hidden in Nanba Parbat beneath a mystical temple where the League Of Assassins were formed." Zatanna told them when the Tri-Squad looked at the picture and they were impressed.
"I say that we go and get that sword!" Taiga encouraged then Titas and Fuma nodded in agreement. "Connor, are you in?" Taiga asked and Connor nodded at the trio.
"Of course. If this can help beat Darkseid, we'll go and get it." Connor told them then he looked at M'gann. "Are you okay with me doing this, M'gann?" Connor asked as he was worried but M'gann smiled.
"It's fine. I'll go to the Watchtower and see if they need help with anything." M'gann explained then she kissed Connor on the lips. "Zatanna, can you go with Connor to the temple?" M'gann asked and the magician nodded.
"Sure but you can tag along too. Nothings stopping you." Zatanna offered but M'gann shook her head so she took Zatanna off to the side while Connor and Dick talked.
"So, how are things with Barbara?" Connor asked and Dick smiled as the pair sat down on the couch. "Last time we spoke, you said that you were thinking of popping the question. Did you?" Connor was curious to know, Dick shook his head then took out a black velvet box and opened it to reveal a diamond ring.
"I'm going to do it tonight," Dick whispered as he didn't want M'gann or Zatanna to hear. "Have you heard anything from Wally or Artemis?" Dick asked as he put the box back inside his pocket.
"Wally and Artemis have just gone for a walk," Connor told him which surprised Dick. "M'gann offered if they wanted to stay here as Wally wants to repay me and the Tri-Squad for bringing him back to Artemis." Connor told him, Dick then smiled then looked up at a photo of the team when they all first met.
"I miss the old days. Just me, you, Wally, M'gann, Artemis and Kaldur." Dick smiled and Connor nodded. "And because of us, there are more heroes." Connor nodded then the keys started glowing to show holographic projections of Taiga, Titas and Fuma.
"Connor, trouble!" Taiga shouted which got everyone's attention. "I sense trouble nearby and Fuma's got the location." Taiga told him as Connor jumped off the couch and ran towards the front door.
"It's at the exact same location where Wally and Artemis are!" Fuma shouted as Connor activated the Taiga Spark then detached the Fuma Key.
"Come On! Ultraman Fuma!" Connor then jumped as high as he could as he transformed into Ultraman Fuma, he was now flying as fast as the wind to get to Wally and Artemis' location.
Mount Justice:
Wally and Artemis were running away from their attackers when a fireball flew and hit the ground beneath them. Wally and Artemis flew and hit a tree just as their attackers walked out: it was Red Inferno, Red Torpedo and Red Volcano.
"If you want them, you'll have to take us on!" A voice bellowed as a blue blur crashed down then flashed red, a fist came out of the smoke and hit Red Volcano in the head: it was Ultraman Taiga.
"Nice timing, dude!" Wally shouted and Taiga nodded then he charged towards the Reds but Red Torpedo dodged and ran to attack only Artemis. "Babe, get down!" Wally shouted as he ran and used his speed to grab Artemis and phased through the side of Mount Justice.
"Connor, let's go big!" Taiga shouted as he grabbed Red Volcano and threw it into Red Torpedo. Taiga crossed his arms into an X over his chest which caused him to glow gold, the light was so bright that it was blinding the androids.
"Earth! Shine!" The Taiga Spark on Taiga's right forearm shouted as Taiga started floating into the sky then the androided started hitting Taiga with their attacks but they weren't working.
"Obtain the shining light!" Taiga and Connor shouted as if it was a magic spell; Taiga's body started to change as his red and silver body had changed to all silver with gold armor on his feet, legs, thighs, torso, forearms, hands and shoulders as well as his small gold horns changed to gold.
"Ultraman Taiga: Photon Earth!" The huge golden orb landed then it shattered to reveal Taiga's Photon Earth form. Red Volcano and Red Inferno combined their attacks to fire a huge volcanic fireball but the attack was reflected back by Taiga creating a mirror shield.
"Why do you want Artemis?" Taiga asked as he wanted to know but the androids didn't answer. "It's like they're more robots than androids!" Taiga shouted as he back flipped to dodge Red Torpedo's water blast. "If they won't talk, let's finish this then!" Taiga shouted as he jumped into the sky as he was glowing rainbow colours. "Aurum Strium!" Taiga shouted as he fired a gold beam from his right arm, he fired it the exact same way he fired his Storium Blaster but this beam was twice as powerful and turned the androids into burnt metal.
"Connor! Guys!" Wally and Artemis ran towards them as Taiga landed and reverted back to Connor. "Do you guys know what they were after?" Wally asked as he was concerned about what was going on.
"We don't know. But it looked like they were only after Artemis and not you." Connor told them which got both Wally and Artemis worried.
"Something's bothering me too, Connor." The three looked down just as holographic projections of Taiga, Titas and Fuma appeared. "First Lobo came for Violet, Black Spider and Klarion came to take out M'gann, now Red Tornado copies came for Artemis." Fuma reminded them and that puzzled the group.
"What are these random bad guys after?" Titas asked the group but then, they were interrupted by an explosion which sent them flying into the side of the mountain.
"Looks like the trick worked," Connor looked up to see who the mystery figure was: turned out to be Granny Goodness along with a few of her Female Furies and Kalibak. "It's good to see you all again but now, we have what we wanted." Granny Goodness told them and Connor could see that one of the Female Furies was carrying Violet.
"You're not going to take her!" Connor shouted as he activated the Taiga Spark and transformed into Taiga. He jumped off the ground and ran towards Violet but Kalibak wracked him into the side of Mount Justice.
"I'll take care of him. Get the girl back to our lord." Kalibak ordered and Granny nodded so she opened a Boom Tube, she and her Furies walked through it with Violet while Kalibak and Taiga fought.
"VIOLET!" Taiga shouted as he tried to grab her but failed. "Why you…!" Taiga bellowed then charged towards Kalibak and started fighting him. "We'll stop you and save Violet!" Taiga flew a fist towards Kalibak but he caught it then picked up the Ultra and smashed him into the ground. Kalibak was about to step on Taiga but the Ultra flashed yellow and had changed into Titas who caught Kalibak's foot.
"Let's see if you're a match against me!" Titas shouted then he pushed Kalibak with all his might, causing the big bad to fall and crash into a tree. "Astro Beam!" Titas shouted then fired a green star beam from the blue star crystal on his forehead.
"Nice but pathetic." Kalibak boasted as he pulled out a sword, he was about to slash Titas but he flashed blue and Fuma was standing in his place. Fuma held up his right arm and his Spark created a blue light blade coming from it. His blade was able to block Kalibak which angered the big brute.
"We're not done yet!" Fuma shouted as he jumped into the air and disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Fuma reappeared next to Wally and Artemis who had just got up and looked at the Ultra. "Wally, get Artemis back to the house then tell the others that Granny Goodness has Violet." Fuma told them and the pair nodded but Artemis looked at Fuma.
"Are you going to stay and fight?" Artemis asked but before they could get an answer, Kalibak jumped and was about to stab Artemis but the sword was blocked by Fuma.
"Hurry!" Fuma shouted so Wally picked up Artemis then ran as fast as he could. "Now, where's our friend?" Fuma asked but Kalibak just chuckled then the fight intensified as the fighters were giving it their all.
Connor and M'gann's House:
Zatanna, Dick and M'gann were outside waiting for Connor, Wally and Artemis to arrive but when they looked down the road, they only saw Wally and Artemis and they looked beaten up.
"What happened?" M'gann asked as she ran over and helped Artemis and Dick helped Wally, they sat the pair down on a bench while Zatanna ran indoors to get the medical kit.
"We were a diversion," Artemis told them as she held her shoulder in pain. "The Red Tornado copies attacked us but it was a way to get Connor far away." Artemis explained but Dick and M'gann were confused.
"Far away from what? And who sent the androids?" Dick asked as he wanted to know. Wally sat forward then placed a hand on Dick's shoulder.
"Granny Goodness, Kalibak and a group of Female Furies," Artemis told them and Wally nodded as he was trying to get his breath back. "And Connor stayed behind to fight Kalibak while Wally got me out of there and here." Artemis looked up at M'gann who was shocked then she fell backwards next to Artemis and her eyes closed.
"M'gann, what's wrong?" Dick asked as he ran over to check on his friend. Zatanna ran over and used her magic to try and find out what was wrong with M'gann.
"She's linked to Connor which means she can feel his pain," Zatanna told him then they looked up to see a falling figure. "Who is that?" Zatanna asked then Superman flew in and caught the figure, they lowered down and everyone could see that it was Taiga but his eyes were dark yellow.
"Is he…?" Wally asked but Clark shook his head: Connor and the Tri-Squad were still alive! "Thank goodness. I would've felt terrible if Connor or the others died protecting me." Wally looked up to see Taiga moving then powered down to reveal Connor who was injured but that didn't bother him as he saw M'gann not moving.
"Kal, can you do a scan on her? Please?" Connor asked and Clark nodded so he used his X-Ray vision to scan M'gann but stopped halfway through. "What's wrong with her, Kal?" Connor asked as he was worried so Clark walked his younger brother off so they could have a private chat.
