Chapter 6: Nash & Peck
(Same shift as chapter 5.)
Traci put her phone away after finishing with Dov.
"Gail, do you really think something is going on between Andy & Swarek?"
"Uh…" Gail takes in the serious tone of her partner for the day. "I'm not sure Traci. Why?"
"Just… she hasn't told me anything and I told her about Jerry straight away and he was our instructor…. It just kind of feels like it's a similar situation with Swarek being a TO. Ya know?"
Gail understood but it didn't mean she felt like being 100% honest and coming out and saying she thinks they are screwing like bunnies any chance they get.
Instead she says,
"Maybe, if they are, she is scared of how we will all react… I mean Dov is a prime example. Look how he is acting just seeing Andy get out of Swarek's truck."
"I guess you're right. I just hope they really think about what could happen… to both of them if anyone higher up would hear."
"Traci… you know it IS possible they aren't together. Maybe we should have a girls night with Andy. I mean we used to do it in the academy and we could all use some wine or better yet tequila. What do you think?"
"I actually think that is an amazing idea but we can't ask her now, she is probably already mad at me for asking about the ride."
"Well… how about we plan for the weekend and ask her before then?"
"Sure!"
And they did… and Girls Night was a hit. And Andy told them the truth (so far) "No, we are not dating. No we are not in a relationship. No we have not had sex." And each time she said one of those sentences she had the word yet tacked on in her head. She wasn't ready.
