A/N Special thanks to TheReaper999 for taking the time to review and let me know of some ways to improve my dialogue and some advice on being more descriptive, and also for being the first to review the story! I hope to incorporate some of their advice in this chapter. Also a big shoutout to my two betas Comiclazy and DarthGhengis.
I Hope You Enjoy!
Konoha orphanage, eleven o'clock at night
It has been five years since the Kyuubi had broken out of the seal and been subsequently sealed into Naruto. He had been removed from the first orphanage he was placed in the previous year, for grievously injuring two boys who shoved him. For the most part, Naruto was quiet, but when provoked the demonic chakra brings itself to the forefront. He had developed a negative emotion-sensing ability from the Kyuubi's chakra but has not developed the ability to understand what exactly he is sensing. The Hokage had made the decision to try and keep the boy isolated within his new orphanage. Giving him his own room so he had plenty of space. He was currently sleeping inside that room.
"Come on, his rooms over here." A young voice whispered.
"I don't know Sato...are you sure this is a good idea? The matron said to leave him alone..." Another voice whispered.
"Oh come on Rika, aren't you curious?" Sato replied.
"If you say so, Sato..." Sato and Rika were two other children of the orphanage. They had decided to prank Naruto because he always kept himself at a distance from the other children. After he had attacked the children at the previous orphanage, Naruto attempted to distance himself, so as not to be provoked into a rage.
The conversation had ceased since they were at the door. Sato reached out and opened it slowly, both of the children wincing when the hinges let out a slight creek. They stopped for several seconds and then continued into the room. It was too dark in the room for them to see anything, but all rooms of the orphanage were organized the same, so they were able to navigate over to the lone bed in the room without any difficulty.
Sato got closer to the bed, bringing his hands up revealing a can of whipped cream and a feather. Rika stayed a few steps back, far enough away that she could see out the door in case anyone came. Sato brought the can to the sleeping boy's hand. He stopped suddenly when he heard a low growling sound. He began to shake as he slowly looked upwards towards the boy's face to find that his eyes were no longer closed. He stared at the ultramarine eyes that gazed back at him unflinchingly. He had sensed some form of negative intent towards him and had woke up. Now the only thought on Naruto's mind was to make the bad Go Away! His eyes took on a more reddish hue as his nails elongated and whisker marks grew deeper. He snarled at the boy making the boy drop the can to the floor.
"I'm so-!" His apology was cut off as his hand, still outstretched, was grabbed by the wrist. He had no time to think as he was thrown into the wall. All he could hear was the sound of the boy growling louder as he pounced on top of him, clawing and punching at his face. Rika began screaming, running out of the room. The boy could do nothing but cry as he was assaulted. He wished he had followed the matron's advice, but he was eight. What could a five-year-old boy possibly do besides tell on him? He's a monster
He heard yelling coming from the hallway as he lost consciousness. Naruto's eyes faded back to their ultramarine color. He saw the boy's bloodied and unconscious form underneath him and froze. He had done it again.
"Naruto, get off of him!"
The Hokage stared at Naruto sitting in front of his desk. Having been woken up at two in the morning to be informed that Naruto had been thrown out of the orphanage came as a shock to him. He wasn't sure what to do now, this having been the second orphanage he was thrown out of.
"Can you at least tell me why you attacked him, Naruto?" The Hokage finally asked.
Naruto only began to lightly growl in response to Hiruzen's statement. Hands clenched at his sides. He refused to meet the old man's gaze.
"Naruto!" Naruto's gaze snapped up to the Hokages, his gaze brokering no argument.
"You didn't listen last time," Naruto said dejectedly. "Why would you listen to me this time?"
"Last time, you put two boys in the hospital because one of them shoved you, there is a difference between what you did to those boys and defending yourself." The Hokages voice rose in volume. "I refuse to condone your actions!"
"That's what I'm talking about!" Naruto rose from his chair, hands held at his sides in an incredulous gesture. "They wanted to hurt me, so I hurt them! They shouldn't have felt bad around me if they didn't wan-"
"What do you mean they felt bad around you?" The Hokage interrupted. The sentence sounding peculiar to him.
"I mean they felt bad?" Naruto responded, confused. "When someones bad, they're bad old man." The five-year-old nodded his head, the sentence sounding perfectly reasonable to him. His negative emotion-sensing ability was a little too complex for the five-year-old to properly explain to the old man.
The Hokage mulled the sentence over in his head. "Who else feels bad around you, Naruto?
"Well, all the adults do I guess... at least when they're looking at me, but they're different." What the boy was referring to was the resentment that most adults felt towards him. There was no intention to harm him in any way, and so the Kyuubi's chakra did not react beyond sensing their feelings. "They feel bad when they look at me and it's annoying, but it doesn't make me angry. When I woke up and I felt the bad coming from that boy by my bed it made me angry. I couldn't calm down until the bad went away, I had to make the bad go away! I had to make the bad go away! They were bad... and I made the bad stop!" Naruto's voice grew deeper, as did his whisker marks. The Hokage looked towards Naruto in shock. The Kyuubi's chakra... How much does he have now? It's a miracle he hasn't killed anyone... I wanted him to live a normal life, but now I can see that that's not possible. Minato, Kushina... I'm sorry.
"I understand Naruto. It's okay." The Hokage sat up, making his way towards Naruto, who was now holding his head in his hands, trying to calm down. He struck him in the back of the neck. The stifling amount of malicious chakra that had been building in the office came to a halt and started to recede.
"I'm going to take good care of you Naruto, I promise." Hiruzen then picked up the child and vanished in a shunshin. He had some people to assemble. He had tried to give Naruto a normal life and had failed. He would do his best to make sure that Naruto got the care he needed.
A/N: Well I hope you liked it. Some things that I think may need to be clarified. The bad that Naruto refers to, is the malicious intent sense that he gets much later in the series. With more of the Kyuubi's chakra running through him at all times, I think it's reasonable to assume that he would develop this ability since he has so much of the Kyuubi's chakra running through him at all times, about half of a tail (The amount that he used when he defeated Haku in the original series.) I'm gonna say that each tail gives a x5 boost to all of his physical and chakra related abilities, so a 2.5x boost while fighting Haku... this is the only way I can rationalize that he was able to defeat Haku after being basically useless for the whole fight. His natural reserves are also going to be increased by the same increment. He has half of a tails chakra more than he usually does all the time, so his own chakra had to have grown to compensate, so a 2.5x boost to his natural reserves, stamina, etc. so by the time Naruto is 12. I plan to have him around 5x more potent than his original counterpart. 2.5x more Kyuubi chakra, and 2.5x more of his own natural chakra. This will be on top of how the Sandaime decides to "take care" of Naruto. If you have any other questions, opinions, thoughts, please feel free to let me know in a review.
