After Alexander left Avery's townhouse, he went to the appointed place for his meeting with Roman. It was a park about 7 miles away from Brown's campus. Alexander waited for about 10 minutes until his uncle finally arrived.
"Alex, it's good to see you." Roman said as the two sat down on a park bench.
"That's surprising." his nephew replied wryly.
"Jane's ok, Weller and the team found her in time." Alexander's uncle reported as he was greatly relieved by this.
"That's good." Alexander said with a small smile.
"I also heard that you got rough with Madeline Burke and Weitz benched you for good." Roman added.
"You heard right." Alexander replied.
"So, what are you going to do now?" his uncle inquired.
"What I should have done before going back to New York." Alexander replied. "I have unfinished business with Mallory."
"I'm sure that she's in an awful hurry to see you too." Roman said in a sarcastic voice. As Alexander got up to leave, his uncle stopped him.
"You need to start thinking long term nephew." He insisted.
"What do you mean?" Alexander inquired.
"I mean, now that you're no longer an FBI asset...what is to stop the feds from throwing you into a CIA blacksite?"
"If they do that, they might as well kill me."
"What about Jane?" Roman wondered. "Eventually, the FBI will come after her and your mother is going to be put in a position where she is going to have to choose between her son and everything she has...Are you really going to put her in that position?" The question hit Alexander hard. He couldn't put Jane in that place where she would have to choose.
"Mom has a good life, it would be a shame for her to throw it away on a killer like me." Alexander whipped as he walked away, leaving Roman once again, by himself.
