What happened last time….

It was finished in two hours, as I put the work away my phone started buzzing, I picked it up from my desk and looked at the caller id, it was Katie. I smiled and answered, bringing the phone to my ear.

"Hey Kati-"

"Yeah, yeah, hi, OMG, Kim, you will not believe what I saw today at the Supermarket!"

Katie has been my best friend since we were little, and we had grown up together. We were as close as you could get, almost sisters. She had beautiful long ginger hair and blue grey eyes. She's a fun person to be around but can really get on your nerves with her very outgoing personality. I stifled a laugh and laid down on my bed.

"What did you see Katie?"

"Well you can at least act excited"

I could hear the scowl in her voice.

"So, Katie, what did you see?"

I said again adding extra enthusiasm into my voice, she grunted.

"Better"

I waited, when she didn't say anything, I frowned.

"Katie, what did you see?"

I yelled into the phone, I heard her yelp and I rolled my eyes.

"Oh, right yes, I saw Jared"

That immediately sparked my attention and I sat up straight, wanting to know all the details, questions were flying around my mind. Where did Katie see him? Why was she near him? Inside I was panicking but all I said was

"Tell me everything"

"Okay, so I was at the supermarket buying for the devil spawns, right?"

I found myself nodding, devil spawn was Katie's nickname for her younger twin siblings, Evelyn and Ethan. Katie's parent was never really at home, so Katie became the guardian for her younger brother and sister who were aged 5. I pitied her but she really hated pity, so I just didn't express it.

"And they really wanted the most expensive lollies, which they totally deserved because I was crying and all that and they made me dinner, I mean sure it was burnt and gross, but it's the thought. Anyway, I couldn't reach them, cause some asshole put them on the top shelf and obviously didn't think about us short people."

I tried to hold in a laugh, but a few giggles got loose, I heard her go silent.

"Kim Conweller, are you laughing at my height?"

"Maybe"

"Do you want to hear the rest of the story or not?"

I squeaked; I heard her scoff in triumph.

"Sorry Katie, please continue, I won't interrupt again sir"

"Good, so I couldn't get the damn lollies when, I swear to God, a giant ass shadow came over me and grabbed the lollies. Then he gave them to me, I looked at him and nearly died. It was Jared!"

I was still confused, she had seen Jared before, why was she so shocked?

"He was huge, he was like over 6 feet, he got muscles and his shirt was not doing him any justice, you could see his muscles for days. And man did he get hot."

I frowned, I always thought that he was cute but never hot, what changed?

"Kim, you should have seen him, he was like a God, he was there with Paul Walker and Quil Ateara. They looked almost the same, they all looked like they were on steroids or something, Kimmy, it was scary."

I was really confused, Quil was a scrawny little kid with hair that reached down to his waist, I can't really imagine him all buff and hot.

"All their hair was cut to look like a normal hot guy, well Paul was scowling and Quil was eyeing some cereal or whatever and Jared was looking at me and smiling. Oh my God, Kimmy he's absolutely perfect."

I felt a giant twinge of jealously and then immediately felt guilty for letting it consume me. But I mean, why did he smile at Katie, she's not even in any of his classes, I've got 3 classes with him and he doesn't even look my way. I quickly smothered the ugly emotion and continued to listen to Katie.

"He stared straight into my eyes for a solid 2 minutes, it was quite uncomfortable, then he sighed and grabbed another pack of lollies and threw them at Quil and then he said "For Claire" Quil looked so happy, I didn't even know he had a girlfriend, did you?"

She didn't even wait for me to reply, I smiled and let her prattle on.

"Paul looked so impatient and he grabbed Quil's arm and pulled him along, Jared laughed, it's a heavenly sound by the way, and followed them, he didn't even say goodbye rude right?"

I nodded, muttering my agreement quietly.

"And when I got home, Evelyn was crying because Ethan hit her, so I gave Evelyn her lollies and gave Ethan his after he ate all his dinner. I never want kids, they're so bloody stressful."

She sighed dramatically and I sympathised heavily, in the background I heard Ethan and Evelyn fighting, Katie sighed again.

"Sorry, Kim but I've got to go, otherwise I'll have a double homicide on my hands"

I giggled as she hung up the phone, I looked at the time and groaned, it was only 3:37pm.

I ran downstairs and went into the lounge, I rummaged through the drawer hoping to find a good movie to watch, I picked out my favourite, Mean Girls. It was a classic. I put the disc into the movie player, pressed play then snuggled up on the couch.

I tried to focus on the movie, but it was hard with images of Jared swirling through my mind, distracting me.

Jared was in my History, English and Math class, all three were my favourites, he sat in front of me in each, I believed that God blessed me with a look don't touch situation, but it was enough. The Jared I knew had Hair down to his shoulders, he was 5'10 and has muscles but prominent. Katie's new description of him, made me excited to see him on Monday. I pulled out my phone and checked my schedule, I had the last period of the day with him, History with Mr. Moore. I could hardly wait.

After finishing Mean Girls, I switched to The Vampire Diaries and got up to season 7 before Dad came in and told me to go to bed, I walked up the stairs, changed into pjs then tucked myself into bed. I smiled, knowing what awaited me tomorrow.

Katie is based off one of my best friends also named Katie, I owe her the world she one of the best people to be friends with!
