What happened last time…

I felt Paul's hands on me pushing me out the door, I continued to look at her even as I was forced out of the class. I saw Paul look at her and curse. I ran through the halls and tried my hardest to make my way to the forest at the edge of the school grounds to phase. I felt my clothes rip and I howled. I felt Paul phase and our minds interlocked

"Jared?! What the hell happened?"

"I imprinted"

"Dude, that's great!"

"Yeah, I guess"

"So, what's with the glaring and running and shit?"

I didn't answer him, instead I focused on the forest around me. The smell of the freshly moistened soil wafting into my over-sensitive nose. I looked up at the trees, rare sunlight shining through the tips of the leaves. I dropped my head and glared at my paws. They were a dark rustic brown, as was the rest of my body. The fur around my eyes and down my nose was a dapple dark grey, making it seem like I had a mask on. I focused on random things for about 20 minutes. I heard Paul growling at me, I glanced up at him, his dark silver fur was bristling, and his silver eyes was glinting.

"Stop thinking about the damn trees. Talk to me"

I snarled at him; his eyes narrowed.

"You wouldn't understand, only Sam and Quil understand"

"Oh, so just because I'm not tied down because of some stupid girl, it means that Quil has a higher status than me with you, don't be a dick Jared"

I froze and locked eyes with him, I glared at him and started growling and howling. He stood his ground and growled back at me. I lunged at him and bowled him over, he yelped as I sank my teeth into the flesh on his shoulder. I heard a scream and was faintly aware of the crowd looking out at us from the school boundaries. I growled louder and looked away from Paul and loosened my grip on him. At feeling my teeth leave his skin, he kicked me off him and he pinned me down. He snapped at me and I forgot the crowd gathering, staring, with their mouths gaping open and I focused all my attention to Paul. I placed my back paws on the soft flesh of his stomach, and I kicked, he went flying into a tree, it snapped in half and Paul winced as he got up. He seemed to finally notice the crowd because he froze and stopped advancing towards me, all anger within him vanished. I, however, wasn't finished with him, I ran at Paul and headbutted him in the side, he fell with a thud and I jumped on him. I snarled and snapped at his neck. I heard several screams.

"Jared, stop! They can see us, get off me!"

I heard Paul yell in my head, but I ignored it, I was fuelled by the undying anger that was churning in my stomach. I felt Quil and Embry phase and almost immediately, they were yelling at me.

"Jared, people are going to start filming"

"Get off Paul, he's learnt his lesson, for whatever reason"

The screams got louder as Quil and Embry emerged from the trees of the forest. Paul replayed my imprinting and his response, and my rage burned brighter, I growled aggressively, Quil huffed and snarled at Paul before turning back to me. I felt their teeth grabbing my scruff and hauling me off Paul. I fell back panting and snarling.

"Jesus Jared, got it out of your system?"

I huffed at Paul, he rolled his eyes but kept his body tense, as if he was expecting an attack from me at any given minute. I heard Paul ask where Jake was.

"He went to go get Sam as soon as we heard the screams and saw you guys"

I winced; Sam was gonna kick my furry ass when he got here.

"You got that right"

I froze and spun around; Sam's black wolf was stalking towards us from deep within the forest. I felt him sifting through my memories.

"Congratulations on the imprinting, she's pretty"

I growled and glared at him, Sam took up a fighting stance and stared me down, I felt my knees buckled under the pressure of his Alpha gaze, and I lowered myself to the ground and rolled over so my belly was exposed; An act of submission. He grunted in triumph and I got up slowly, embarrassment and resentment flooded my veins and I stared at Sam.

"Quil, Embry, phase back and get those people back to class"

Sam commanded, they nodded and ran into the forest. I zoned out as soon as Sam started talking to Paul. I looked out towards the crowd, my eyes scanning all the horrified faces. That's when I saw her, my imprint, she was staring at me with wide, scared eyes. I could that her eyes were bloodshot and the skin around her eyes was red and puffy. My heart cracked as I realized that I did that to her, I yearned to go over and comfort her. To wrap her in my warmth.

She was clutching another girls arm. The girl had wild red hair, I recognized her as Katie Brisendine. I made a mental note to talk to Katie for info on the girl that was gripping her arm with a death hold. Before I could stop myself and think rationally, I turned my body and started walking over to her.

The students panicked as I made my way over the field. A giant shadow flew over my head and Sam landed in front of me. He spun around and started pushing me back.

"Jared, stop being stupid, you're making a mess of this"

"Sam, I need to go to her"

"As a wolf. Yeah, she's going to love you after that. Pull yourself together Jared. Your going to come back to school in a few weeks and your going to introduce yourself to her and start talking to her. She won't trust you if you do this Jared."

I looked at her longingly, I desperately wanted to go to her, but I knew Sam was right. I whimpered before turning around and bolting for the woods. Sam at my heels, Paul at my side. I howled in anguish as I left my imprint behind.

Kim's POV

I couldn't focus through the rest of the History class, I could see people shooting me looks and whispering but I didn't focus on them, I couldn't. My mind was occupied of thoughts of Jared. He had glared at me so aggressively. I had brushed tears off my cheeks a lot during class, but they always returned whenever I thought of how he was mad at me and how I could basically feel the hatred rolling off him in waves before he practically ran out of class. I laid my head in my hands and rested on my desk. By the time the bell signalling for the end of school rang, my eyes were puffy, red and itchy. I slowly peeled myself off my desk and left the class. I rubbed my eyes and leaned into my locker; I opened the lock with numb fingers. I took out the books I would be needing for homework tonight. I slammed my locker shut, wincing at the loud noise it made.

I felt hollow, empty, almost like a part of me had been wrenched away from me, my brain wasn't functioning properly, I was moving in slow-mo. My movements were sluggish. And my eyes wouldn't focus on one thing for too long. I heard heels clacking on the linoleum and a hand grabbed my shoulder and spun me round. Sofi Morrell in all her poisonous glory stood there, glaring down at me in disgust and hatred. Her common blue eyes flashed as she looked me up and down, her pink lips were curled in disgust and her tall and skinny frame was leaning away from as if it was physically paining her to be this close to me. Her blonde hair was in curls, draping down her back. She was the captain of the cheerleader squad and downright bitch of the school. Always making freshman feel weak and unimportant. I closed my eyes. I was not in the mood to deal with her.

"Hey, Cow, look at me"

She said scornfully, I reluctantly opened my eyes and peered at her, she smirked in triumph.

"What did you do?"

I was confused at her question; I cocked my head to the left and blinked.

"What do you mean, Sofi?"

She seemed disgusted that I said her name, she huffed and pushed me into the lockers. I groaned from the impact.

"What I mean, Cow, is what did you do to Jared Cameron?"

My eyes widened and I blushed involuntarily at the mention of Jared.

"Jesus, have you still not gotten over your infatuation for him"

I blushed harder and she laughed cruelly. I felt tears pricking at my eyes. I wanted nothing more than the floor to swallow me up and take me far away from this place and Sofi, I didn't get that, but I got the next best thing.

"Infatuations a big word Sofi, did you learn it just for Kim?"

I heard Katie yell as she stalked up to us and she came to a halt by my shoulder. Her eyes were blazing as she glared at Sofi.

"What are you doing here, Brisendine, don't you have some retarded siblings to look after or whatever."

That was the final straw. Katie's hands clenched into tight fists and she glared at Sofi with everything she had in her. Katie's shorter than Sofi but she straightened and walked right up to Sofi, shoving her face close to Sofi. Katie was towering over her. Her frame shaking in fury.

"Retarded, yeah you would know about that wouldn't you Sofi. And don't you dare bring up my siblings, I have a responsibility to my family, and I wouldn't give it up for the world. Do you know what that word means Sofi? Responsibility? Of course, you don't you've never had to have a single responsibility in your life. Cause your life's so perfect, well sorry to knock you off your high horse princess but not every bodies life is like yours. So, sorry if I must take care of my family occasionally. Not everyone's daddy has bucket loads of money that we can abuse. Some of us must work to survive or pay taxes. I bet you don't even know how taxes work right?

Cause you've never had the need to pay them, well guess what princess, I know how too and a whole lot more. So, maybe if you left your castle and decided to try a life as a peasant, you would see how hard and normal everyone's life is. So, don't you dare attack Kim with your insecurities about yourself because Kim is stronger than you will ever be. She has put up with you and your stupidity for far too long and she has never backed down or spoken back to you. She needs way more credit than she is given. So, if you ever go after Kim again Sofi, I will be there and trust me I will make your life living hell!"

Katie finished yelling; her face was red with anger. I stared at her in surprise, a small grin played with my lips, I looked up at Sofi and she was crying! I was shocked, I don't think I had ever seen Sofi cry. Katie nodded, grabbed my wrist and led me out the school side door. I laughed and side hugged Katie tightly. She giggled and hugged me back, before freezing.

"Katie, what's wrong?"

I looked at her face, she was deathly pale, and her eyes widened in shock, her mouth was open in a small 'o' of surprise and horror. I followed her gaze and I felt the blood drain from my face as I took in the sight before me. Across the field, at the opening to the forest were two giant wolves, they were taller than horses.

One was a deep silver, it's fur shimmering in the sun, the other one caught my attention more. It was a rusty dark brown with grey on its face. They were growling at each other and I gasped and grabbed Katie's arm as the brown one lunged at the silver one and latched its teeth into the other wolf. I watched them fight, I winced when the silver wolf pinned the brown one down and I found myself wanting to protect the wolf with everything I had. The other students also watching the scene, screamed when two other wolves erupted from the forest.

A wolf with fur the colour of chocolate seemed to growl at the silver one before pulling the brown wolf off the silver one with the help of a grey wolf with black spots. They all looked at each other, almost as if they were having a silent conversation. Suddenly the 4 wolves heads snapped to the trees and I saw a deep black wolf stroll out of the woods. He must be the Alpha, I thought. I watched as the brown one growled at the black wolf. The black wolf stared at him and the brown wolf slowly lowered himself to the ground and rolled over so his belly was showing. I wondered what he was doing. The Alpha looked away from his and he got up slowly.

The Alpha looked at the two new wolves and they bounded back into the forest. The black wolf then turned to the silver wolf and I froze again as the brown wolf turned towards the crowd and it almost seemed like his gaze was trained on me. He started walking forwards, towards the crowd. Everyone started panicking and started running inside. I, however, was frozen to the spot, my eyes were locked on the wolf as it made its way over. I saw the black wolf leap over the brown one and start pushing it back into the forest. The wolf whimpered before turning and running. The remaining wolves followed. As it disappeared int the trees, I heard the most heart-breaking howl, I had ever heard. Tears immediately filled my eyes and I blinked before they spilled over.

"OMG, Kimmy, that was so scary. That wolf was totally going to come over here and eat us, I swear."

I turned my head and saw Quil, Embry and Jake talking to people and telling them to get back to class. I extracted my hands from Katie's arm. She giggled at the red mark I left.

I walked up to the boys and stopped in front of Jacob. He looked down at me, I nearly had to look straight up to see his face.

"What?"

He said roughly, his voice was husky, same as Jared's. I blushed as I remembered Jared's voice. I saw Jacob raise an eyebrow at me, I cleared my throat before speaking.

"I was wondering if Jared was okay because he kinda ran out of History class, not that I was watching, we have that class together, he sits in front of me. Not that I noticed, I just, um, uh, yeah"

I finished, blushing. Jacob was looking at me unimpressed although I did notice that his posture was tenser as soon as I mentioned Jared's name.

"Jared's fine, he just had some personal problems that he had to deal with"

He said stiffly.

"Oh, ok thanks"

I glanced at Quil and Embry and saw them staring at me with wide eyes, I blushed again and looked down hoping that my hair would hide my face from them. I saw Quil walk over to Jacob and whisper something in his ear. Jacobs eyes widened as he stared down at me with a newfound curiosity.

"Well, bye"

I said and I walked away quickly to Katie who was giggling at me and my blush.

"Shut up"

I groaned and I dragged her to Johnny's car. She leant on the passenger door and looked at me expectantly.

"I just asked I if Jared was alright and he is, he just has some personal issue or something to deal with"

"Oh sad"

"Yeah"

I remembered something.

"Oh hey, thanks for sticking up for me with Sofi"

"No problem, you've got to learn how to stick up for yourself Kim"

"I'll try, but she's a life ruiner, she ruins people's lives! I wonder if she could be sweet"

"Sofi Morrell is not sweet, she's a scum-sucking road whore, she ruined my life!"

I looked into her eyes and we both erupted into fits of giggles. I leant on the car for support.

"Oh Jesus"

I looked up and saw Johnny and Kat staring at us like we were crazy. And in some way, I guess we were.

"Okay bye Katie, see you tomorrow"

"See-ya"

She hugged me and I slid into the front seat of the car. I turned up the radio as soon as Johnny started the car, I started singing along to whatever song was playing. I soon had Johnny and Kat joining in with me. It was a fun car ride. We were 16 and yet we all still enjoyed a good sing-along. I bounced out of the car when Johnny came up my driveway. I waved as they left. I opened the door and saw that my parents weren't home yet. I went into my room and decided to get an early start on my homework.

As I was trying to get to school later that night, I couldn't help thinking of Jared's face and his reaction to me. It was all I could think of, it was haunting me.

That night I dreamt of a rustic brown wolf with a grey mask.

This is the longest chapter yet; I know that this took ages for me to write but I just wanted to say that I have over 300 viewers. THIS IS INCREDIBLE! I never thought that this would. Thank you to all who read my story. Please review so I can hear your thoughts.
