Jareth sat up straight in bed breathing heavily, his chest rising and falling with each breath.

He looked around the room, then looked down. He hadn't bothered to change. He flopped onto his side and rubbed his temple. How could he possibly sleep with dreams like these? And how could he possibly live with the fact Sarah probably doesn't love him like he loved her.

He groaned and rolled over onto his stomach and sank his head into his pillows. He began to cry.

"It's not fair, why must life be so lonely and horrible? I have no one" he said, muffled by the pillow.

He covered himself up with his sheets and continued to mope.

"Maybe I still have a chance to return her to her world, where she belongs. She will be miserable here with me. Anyone would. A girl like her deserves all the happiness in the world, not this hell I'm putting her through."

He got up and walked over to his dresser. On it stood a small box. He picked it up and opened it. Inside was a ring with a large glorious diamond.

He sighed. She would never marry him, not now, not ever.

A tear rolled down his cheek and fell down straight into the diamond of the ring. He closed the box and quickly set it down.

He turned to face his mirror. His face was tear stained and red. His normally handsome complexion was, well, ruined in a way. He was normally joyful and happy. But then that girl came into his life and changed him for good. Now that he knew her he couldn't let her go. Now his was depressed and anxious about the future. What if she did leave him? What if she did mean those things she said yesterday?

He wouldn't be able to cope with that. Hell, death would be better than feeling all those... emotions. He grew sick. He hated emotions, he hated love. But yet this girl mad him feel it. This girl was everything he has ever wanted.

He swallowed and frowned, trying to look grim and, well, goblin king-y. He closed his eyes and breathed deeply. He opened his eyes and saw Sarah behind him in the mirror.

He quickly turned and no one was there. He turned back around to face the mirror and Sarah had disappeared. His arms lowered to his sides. He glowered at his reflection. He fixed his collar sharply.

"I am the Goblin King. I do as I please and I get what I want. No one, absolutely no one, defies me!" He said sternly. "Now, off to breakfast."

He turned so swiftly his cape fluttered behind him.

"Hoggle! He shouted out the door.

The little goblin quickly limped toward him.

"Yes, sire?" He replied.

"Go fetch the girl, and quickly. Now! Before I dump your ungrateful ass into the Bog of Eternal Stench!"

Hoggle stammered and quickly rushed to fetch Sarah for breakfast.

"Good," Jareth sneered.
