Like I said, I was gonna post the next chapter in the next couple of days. I'm hoping that the few who might still read this will still like it. The next chapter is almost done, I'm just checking it for mistakes, so it'll probably be posted like last time, in the next couple of days. I'm still hoping that you guys read this, makes me happy just typing all of this. I was also thinking that maybe you guys can give some ideas for the future? Of course I'll give you the credit and I'll speak with you to talk about it, maybe changing it up a bit to fit with the story. That's just an idea though, considering you guys can comment your ideas, I want to try to interact with the community but this story isn't that popular or dare I say, that good. Regardless I love writing this story. All I'm hoping is that new people will give this story a chance. Have a great day everyone!

"Ok, follow me to the professor's office and he should tell you everything." The man in the labcoat was guiding them.

"Yeah su-" Ulysses said but stopped when he noticed a girl walk passed them holding a chespin, she was a bit shorter than him and had long blonde hair.

The man noticed smiling at Ulysses, "Her name is Nicole, she's around your age, she was here to get her starter pokémon."

"Huh what? Wait I didn't need to know her name!" Ulysses said acting strange and funny.

Amber noticed and looked confused. Eventually they made it to the professor's office and the man in the coat said he had to go back to work.

"Hey professor you needed to talk with me?" He asked.

"Ah yes hello! Listen, have you ever heard of mega evolution?" The professor asked while holding his chin with his finger and thumb.

"Yeah sort of, it's an evolution that a pokémon can use and become more powerful right?"

"Yes but to be exact, it's an additional evolution a pokémon has, it's obtained through sharing a bond with your pokémon, if you don't share a bond it won't work. Firstly the trainer needs an item called a key stone and their pokémon needs a mega stone. As far as my research goes, only certain pokémon can use mega evolution. So I was just wondering if you can assist me in this research." The professor asked

"Uh sure, so you want me to gather data on battles I see with trainers using mega evolution? Ulysses questioned.

"Well yeah, but I also wanted to gather information on you using it." He took a key stone out of his pocket and handed it to Ulysses.

"Woah really!? I get to use mega evolution??" He was looking amazed, staring at the key stone thinking it was unreal and so was Amber.

"Yes you can, what pokémon have you caught so far? I remember I sent you some pokéballs."

"Let's see, Amber here was my first catch, I also caught a lucario, gallade, and I also have that eevee you sent me." Ulysses was remembering while petting Amber's head.

"Perfect! Your lucario and gallade can mega evolve! Although you'll need to find their respective mega stones, lucarionite and galladite. They are really hard to find so you'll need to search for awhile, I heard some antique stores and others alike rarely have them, even then they're really expensive so I would just recommend finding them." The professor nervously chuckled.

"It sounds awesome but the part about finding them sounds like it'll be a real challenge."

"I hope you will be able to find them soon, battling with mega evolution feels like a whole other battle! That is all I wanted to talk to you about, you're welcome to stay for awhile or you can leave if you want, just remember to contact me when you have obtained a mega stone." The professor waved goodbye to them.

"Yeah I will, I think we'll head home now, thank you for this professor!" They waved back and headed for the exit, but just as they were heading out the door, Ulysses noticed an old book opened on a table next to the door, he tried to see what it said but could only read about 2 words before he left the room, "Huh? Bond phenomenon?"

While walking down the hall, Ulysses and Amber saw that girl named Nicole talking with a lab assistant, she smiled and waved at them when she saw the two of them. Ulysses waved back while looking flustered, Amber saw and finally realized what was going on.

[Ohhh, Ulysses likes this girl!] Amber thought to herself.

She gave a smug look with her hands on her hips.

Ulysses saw Amber doing that, "What?"

(Oh nothing.) Amber said putting her arms back down, smiling and looking outside while they were exiting the building.

Later on they reached home just as it was about to be dark.

"You go on ahead inside, I want to train outside for a bit." Ulysses said to Amber while going to a nearby spot. She nodded in response.

He started doing some fighting moves like punching, dodging, jumping, ducking etc. After awhile he began thinking. "Hm, I wonder?"

After wards he headed back to the cabin to find Ally. He found her siting next to the new fire place that they had built.

"Hey Ally can you come with me for a bit?"

(Yeah sure.) She stood up and followed him.

They walked back to the spot he was at earlier.

"Can you try to attack me?"

(Wait what? You don't remember what happened last time? I almost hurt you, like seriously.)

"Oh don't worry, I have a feeling it'll be different this time." He motioned to Ally to start attacking.

With her paws raised Ally got into a fighting stance, (Ok, whatever you say.)

She began running towards him and started swinging her paws trying to punch him but Ulysses either dodged or kept on blocking.

(Woah, you seem faster then before. I guess that training from before came in handy huh? You're moving faster than a normal human atleast.)

"Yup now if you don't mind, can you use a bone rush on me?"

(Are you crazy?! If you get hurt, I won't feel bad because you asked for it!)

"Yeah I know." Ulysses got into another fighting stance.

(Ok, here I go!) Ally then put her paws side by side and formed a long blue bone like staff and rushed towards Ulysses.

He could only dodge so much and some swings were getting too close for comfort. When one of her swings was about to hit him, he quickly took out one of his kunai and blocked the attack.

(A blade? That's smart but when did you get that?)

"Awhile ago, and now they are proving useful. I only got them to defend, never purposefully attack."

(Them? Wait you have two of them?)

Ulysses took out the other kunai that he wore like brass knuckles.

(Ok that one looks pretty cool, but can they protect you for long?) Ally grew more confident about the training and rushed towards him again.

Ally was swinging her staff and Ulysses was blocking it using the kunai to swing it away causing sparks to fly. Ally was looking like she was having fun now that it was more of a fair fight and it was lasting longer than before. After a couple more minutes of fighting Ally threw one last swing before stopping in her tracks looking really terrified.

"Ally? What's wrong?" Ulysses also stopped and was nervous.

(Uh. Master? That thing... It's back.. And it feels really close.) Ally made her staff disappear and was starting to shake in fear.

Ulysses went to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey stay with me, let's go back and get the others, it looks like we might have to fight it."

They ran back to the cabin and Ally said in a shaky voice, "Master... It's here."

Suddenly, out of nowhere, small rock like things covered in a purple aura started flying towards Ulysses, he blocked a couple with his kunai but some actually hit and scraped him.

"Go inside and get the others quick!"

Ally nodded and went inside to find the others. She found Amber and eevee in Ulysses's room playing around. (Hurry come outside, master is in trouble!)

She found Dante sleeping on the couch and woke him up. (Dante! Master is in trouble! We have to help!)

Dante got up and noticed something, (Hm? This presence. It feels... familiar.)

They all ran outside only to see Ulysses out of breath with another figure shrouded in darkness from the night, only being lit up with the thunder punch that it was using. Ulysses put away his kunai when he saw the figure get close. The shadowy figure and Ulysses both turned their heads to notice the other pokémon. The figure took that chance to rush in and use a thunder punch on Ulysses's face, knocking him out. Amber, Ally, and eevee ran to Ulysses side checking to see if he was ok.

(You guys are free now.) The mysterious pokémon came out of the darkness.

(Wait, could it be? Gardevoir, is that you?) Dante questioned.

(Yeah it's me, I can't believe you were captured by this human gallade. I believed you were stronger than this.) The gardevoir said.

(Well actually the name's Dante now. Also I let myself be caught by this human, he's not a bad one.) He said while walking over to Ulysses to heal him.

(Wait, but from what I saw he was using you guys as slaves. Fighting each other and building this cabin.) The gardevoir said with crossed arms.

While healing Ulysses Dante said, (Fighting? No we were just training, and the building? Well we chose to help him because it would be faster that way.)

(Oh, my mistake then.) The gardevoir apologized with her anger starting to subside.

(Don't apologize to me, apologize to him.)

The gardevoir noticed Ulysses waking up, so she quickly hid behind a tree.

"Wha-? What's going on? The figure, where did it go?! Are you guys ok?" Ulysses quickly sat up and making the 3 female pokémon sigh in relief.

(Well to clear up something, that mysterious figure turned out to be my old friend gardevoir. I want to introduce you two but you have to promise me one thing.) Dante said looking at Ulysses with a serous face.

"Yeah sure." He said with a hand on his head.

(Don't make fun of her, please.)

"Make fun of her? Why would I do that?"

(You can come out now.) As he said that, the gardevoir came out from hiding and slowly walked into the moonlight revealing to be a different colored gardevoir.

Ulysses saw and was amazed, "Woah, a blue gardevoir?"

(What you're not gonna say anything?) She said in a mean tone.

"Uh well the blue color makes you look cute." Catching the gardevoir off gaurd making her look away with a slight blush.

(You're not gonna make fun of me?)

"Why would I ever do that?"

(It's just that ever since I was a ralts, I was always teased and looked down upon, even by my own family.) Gardevoir said with sad look

"That must've been horrible."

(It was, I never want to return there again.) She said with a painful look.

"I'm not lying when I say you look cute."

(Stop calling me that!)

"I'm sorry but I'm telling the truth. Anyways how did you meet Dante?"

(When I was just a ralts, he took me under his wing and would train me, play with me, never making fun of me. He was my only friend. When I became a gardevoir we were still friends until one day when I decided to leave our home, I came here because I wanted to protect the pokémon from bad people. Dante said he would still be around if I ever wanted to talk.)

"Dante, I think my respect for you has grown." Ulysses said while giving him a smile.

(Thanks Ulysses.) Dante replied.

(I am afraid of being defeated by the bad people and being caught by them or a passerby trainer. I don't want to leave here, that's why I'm so strong, so it won't happen.)

Amber then got an idea and whispered into Ulysses's ear. (Why don't you catch her? So she can't be caught and doesn't leave here?)

"That's a great idea!" He whispered back.

"Hey gardevoir, you don't want to leave right?"

(Yeah?)

"Well I live here, soo I'm thinking I can catch you but you don't have to stay with me. You can still roam around just like you've been doing and not worry about being caught." He then took out a pokéball.

Her eyes widened, (You would waste one of your pokéballs for my selfish reason? You would do that for me? Even after I beat you up?)

"Of course, and you caught me off gaurd so.."

She almost cried but nodded and touched the pokéball. She was engulfed in a red light and went inside the pokéball. It shook 3 times before making a sound meaning that she was caught.

Ulysses then let her out, "Alright, come on out gardevoir."

A blue and white light exited the pokéball and the gardevoir reappeared, (Thank you, even though I don't fully trust you yet. You have my gratitude.)

"No problem, well I'm gonna head back in. My body kind of hurts." He got up while groaning a bit from the pain.

(May I ask for a favor?)

After he got up he responded, "Sure what is it?"

(You gave Dante a name. Can I have one to then?) She asked while looking down.

"Yeah hang on I need to think for a moment." He thought for awhile.

(It's ok if you can't think of any, I was just asking.) The gardevoir said in a sort of sad tone.

"How about Elina?"

(Elina?)

"Yeah 'Ella' means a beautiful fairy woman, while 'ina' just refers to a female name, put them together and you get Elina. You don't like it?"

She thought for a moment, (I love it.)

"I'm happy that you like it!"

(Well I better get going, I'm sure you need to rest, sorry again.) Elina said looking sad again.

"Oh no worries. I'll think of it as a training session, also feel free to come by anytime, you're always welcome here Elina. Dante, can you help me get inside?"

(Sure.) He agreed.

"See you later Elina!" He and the other pokémon waved back.

(You to!) She then floated away.

[Wow, my own name!] She thought while putting her hands on her cheeks, [I don't sense anything bad about that human, I'll try my best to get along with him.] Elina then left.

"Ok well I think I'm going bed. You guys want to go inside your pokéballs?" Ulysses said while going to his room.

(Yeah I think I will, goodnight master!) Amber said.

(Me too. Goodnight!) Eevee said looking tired to.

Ulysses then put the both of them into their pokéballs

(I think I'll sleep out here, have a good rest.) Dante also said.

(Same for me master.) Ally went to the living room with Dante.

"Ok, goodnight." He yawned and closed the door.

(Dante, can I talk to you about something?) Ally asked.

(What's going on?)

(Well I sensed Elina earlier and I was really scared, but Ulysses wasn't afraid to put up a fight.) Ally said while looking embarrassed.

(Fear sometimes gets the best of us. Don't let it put you down, after all we are all afraid of the unknown. Ulysses just had courage to protect us.) He put a hand on her shoulder.

(Let's get some sleep, you'll feel better in the morning.) Dante said to Ally and she nodded.

The next morning Ulysses got up and went to his kitchen, "Hmm, what is there to eat?"

He opened the fridge, saw nothing inside, and suddenly remembered, "Awww man! Thats what I forgot! I'm so stupid!"

He continued to groan making Ally wake up, (What are you complaining about master?)

"I forgot to buy the damn food yesterday, looks like I have to go to the pokémart. I'm sorry you won't get to eat anything this morning."

(No worries, we can just go find some berries or something while you're out, just get something to eat for yourself while you're in Lumiose ok?)

"Yeah ok." He then went to get Amber and eevee's pokéballs to let them out.

Amber came out still sleeping and Ulysses was just staring at her with a blank face, but eevee came out stretching after just waking up.

(You need something master?) Eevee said after finishing her stretching.

"I was going ask one of you to come with me but it looks like there's no contest, wanna come wih me?"

(Sure!) She said excitingly.

"Hey Ally, can you wake her up while we're out? And if she still wants to sleep just move her next to the fire place ok?"

(Sure thing.) Ally said.

"Lets head out eevee." He grabbed her and put her on his shoulder.

When they got to the pokémart Ulysses was looking around and grabbed some food putting it in his basket. The basket looked to be full so he went to go pay for it. While doing that he heard a bell ring from the door meaning someone was entering, he looked over and his eyes widened. It was Nicole, he waved and walked over to her.

(Master who is that?) Eevee asked.

"Someone I saw at the professor's lab." He replied.

(She looks pretty.)

"I know right."

When he got to her he nervously said, "Uh hello. I saw you at the professor's place yesterday. I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Ulysses."

"Oh hey, I remember you. You're the one with the braixen right? You have an eevee to? My name is Nicole, wow you're pokémon are so cute!" She smiled.

"Yeah they are thanks. Listen, do you maybe want to hang out for a bit?" He asked while closing his eyes.

"Yeah sure! Let me just finish here first and we can head out!"

"Oh really!? Thats great! Ok, I'll wait outside." He happily said and walked outside. He couldn't believe she actually said yes.

When she came back outside they walked around Lumiose city. Ulysses bought them Lumiose Galletes when they saw a food stand. They looked at the scenery and pokémon running around. It was a great time until they walked near Ulysses old home and saw police there. With Nicole following, he ran over to the building, used the elevator and noticed tape on the scanner but ignored it. When he got to the top he saw the door open. He went inside and saw his parents talking to the police.

"Mom!? Dad!? What happened?" He said with a worried look.

"Ulysses?? It was terrible! We were attacked this morning in our own home and your dad almost had him but he got away!" His mom was starting to cry.

After awhile of talking, Ulysses understood how the man got into his home. He put tape on the scanner which made the fingerprint left their previously be entered again. Ulysses was really worried about their safety and realized he wanted someone to protect his parents.

"Mom? Dad? I really want you guys to be safe. I don't want to leave you alone."

"Yes we know son, we're thinking about hiring a bodyguard, but we don't know how long it'll take." His dad Richard said.

Ulysses set down eevee and started to talk to her, "Hey eevee? Can I ask you for a really big favor?"

(What is it?) Eevee said thinking she knows what he was gonna say.

He hesitated a bit before asking but finally did, "I want you to stay here and protect my parents, I know it's alot to ask but I'm really worried about them! I'm afraid something like this will happen again, but with you here, I'll be at ease knowing you're here to protect them."

Eevee sat and thought for a moment, (I'll do it, they're your parents after all, and it's not like it's goodbye right? You will come and still visit won't you?)

That answer made Ulysses really happy, "Of course I will still visit!! Thank you so much eevee!"

He picked her up and gave her a hug. He got back up and introduced eevee to his parents.

"Mom and dad, this is eevee, I'm going to let her stay here so you guy's will have a bodygaurd, you might have to train her a bit but she'll get strong for sure and she's cute to!"

"Hello eevee! We're glad to have you here! Thank you so much for this Ulysses! I promise we'll take very good care of her." His mom said.

Ulysses handed her pokéball to her mom. While they were leaving, he waved at eevee and they exited the building.

"I think it's really nice how much you care for your parents." Nicole said.

"Yeah well, I'm just glad knowing they will have eevee with them." He said knowing he will visit them again.

They continued their walk and Ulysses began liking her more. Eventually by the end of the hang out, he got the courage to finally asked her.

"Hey Nicole? Um, I wanted to ask you something." He nervously said.

"What is it?" She looked over to him.

"Uh.. I was wondering if you maybe wanted to.. go out with me?" He said with his eyes closed.

There was a moment of silence, Nicole finally broke it and responded, "Oh uh... Listen, I can't I'm really sorry! It's just that I'm moving to the Hoenn region soon. So I don't think a long distance relationship would be good that's all.."

Ulysses finally came to the realization that he was rejected, he looked at Nicole slowly and started to cry, he ran away because he didn't want her to see him crying.

"Ulysses wait!!!" She yelled.

He heard her but he kept on running. With an arm on his eyes he kept on running until he got back to the cabin and walked inside.

(Hey master, welcome back. Where's eevee?) Amber asked.

He replied with a shaky voice walking to his room, "At my parent's home."

He slammed the door shut and Amber flinched looking sad after.

(What was that about?) She wondered.

Amber opened the door and saw Ulysses laying on his bed facing the wall with his blanket covering up to his neck.

(Why is eevee at your parents home?) She asked nervously.

"I let her stay there." He responded in a low voice.

(Oh well if thats it, you don't have to be sad, you can still visit her.)

"That's not why I'm like this."

(Why then?)

He didn't answer for a bit, "Remember Nicole? I asked her out and she flat out rejected me, saying she's moving to another region."

He started to tear up again. Amber being a pokémon, didn't know how he felt.

"Can you please leave my room? I need to be alone."

(Oh, of course.) She was looking a bit down and left his room.

Amber saw Ally and Dante waiting in the living room.

(What's wrong with master? And where's eevee?) Ally asked.

(Eevee is staying with his parents. He's really sad right now because he asked out a girl he liked and got rejected.) Amber explained.

(Heartbreak, one of the worst things that can happen to someone. It affects you emotionally and sometimes even mentally, it's best if we leave him be for awhile.) Dante replied.

(Agreed.) Amber and Ally said at the same time.

The next morning they saw Ulysses looking depressed, grabbed some food and walked back to his room.

(I'm really worried about him, this isn't like him at all.) Amber told Dante and Ally.

(Maybe we just have to wait longer?) Ally said.

Three weeks have passed but he's still shown the same behavior. He finally came out of his room and was looking really depressed,"I'm going out to get more food."

(Uh ok. Just get back safely.) Amber was sitting on the couch when she replied.

He headed out for Lumiose when it got dark and got to the pokémart to buy more things. Ulysses saw that they were out of meat.

"Ah damn it, seriously?" He whispered to himself.

He went to a super market further into the city. Reaching the supermarket, he went inside and bought what he needed. After that, he walked back and passed by a restaurant. Ulysses turned his head toward it and couldn't believe what he saw, it was Nicole with another guy. It looked like she was having a good time and he gave sort of an annoyed look. She suddenly saw him and gave the look when someone thinks "Aw crap." She slowly got up and walked outside.

"Uh hey, how's it going?" She nervously said.

Looking away he replied, "What happened to going to Hoenn?"

"Hoenn? Oh right! Well uhh my trip was postponed. Yeah.."

"Trip? I thought you were moving there." And suddenly it hit him, she was lying.

"Oh yeah thats what I meant!" The guy she was with suddenly came out of the restaurant and put an arm around her.

"Who's this guy babe? You know him?" The guy looking a bit more buff than Ulysses said.

Ulysses quickly turned his head towards her and said, "You lied to me!? You never felt bad for me did you?! I cried! I was depressed!! I still am!! You rejected me and without a second thought went out with this guy?! Am I worth nothing to you?! You're worse than trash, I wish I'd never layed eyes on you. What's worse is you can't even follow through to your lies." He yelled.

"Who are you to call my girl trash huh punk?" He walked over to him and pushed him.

"Don't push me." Ulysses looked at the guy with cold dead eyes.

"Oh yeah and what are you gonna do about it?" He pushed him again.

Ulysses then swung a fist at his face, "That's what I'll do."

"Ow!" The guy put his hand on his nose and felt blood. "Why you-!!" He took out a knife and was gonna stab him but Ulysses was too fast. He moved to the side, grabbed his wrist twisting it, qucikly grabbed the knife and hit him in the stomach with the end of the handle, he dropped down to his knees holding his stomach, out of breath and coughing.

"Don't mess with me again or next time I won't let you off so easy. As for you Nicole, I hate you, don't ever talk to me. I never want to see you again." With Nicole looking scared, Ulysses picked up his food and walked back to his home.

"I'm back." He set down the bag and went back to his room.

(Welcome back.) Ally said.

(Wait, did he have tears in his eyes? I thought he stopped crying? Unless... Dante can you look into masters mind? I want to know what happened.) Amber asked.

(Sure hang on.) Dante began to close his eyes and saw what happened.

(Oh, I see..)

(What? What happened?) Ally curiously asked.

(The memory was kind of blurry as if he wanted to forget it but I managed to see what it was, it looks like he saw her. She ended up lying about the whole moving thing. It also looks like she was together with another guy, he made Ulysses mad so he beat up the other guy with no problems.) Dante opened his eyes.

(Aw man, he must feel even worse now.) Amber said.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Dante went to go open it and Elina was there.

(Hello everyone. I just came by to check on you guys.) Elina walked in and noticed Ulysses wasn't with them.

(Did Ulysses go to bed?) Elina asked.

Amber and Ally looked at each other.

(He uh, is very depressed at the moment, he's been like this for a little over three weeks now.) Dante explained.

(He doesn't seem like the type to be like this, what happened?) Elina questioned.

Amber explained everything to Elina to which she replied, (Oh man that's awful, have you tried talking to him?)

(We tried but he said he just wants to be alone.) Ally said with a sad look.

(I'll try talking to him.) Elina walked over to his door, knocked, opened the door and walked inside.

(Ulysses? Can I come in?) Elina quietly said.

"Oh, hey Elina. I'm sorry you have to see me like this." He said still lying down but switched sides to face the room.

(I heard about what happened. So I just wanted to try and comfort you.) She floated over to the edge of his bed and sat down.

"Comfort?" He sat up and Elina could see how his eyes were looking.

(Yeah comfort, I may not be good at it but I want to atleast try.)

"Ok.."

Elina scooted over to sit next to him and laid her head on his shoulder.

(Listen, seeing you like this pains your friends. It's starting to pain me and I'm normally not like this.)

"I know.. I'm sorry." He replied in a low voice.

(Don't apologize, just please don't be so hung up on this, you have friends who care for you and want to see you get better.) They stayed like that for a couple minutes until Elina got back up. She turned towards him and suddenly kissed his cheek.

(You're better than this, there'll be plenty of girls in the future and you're fussing about the first one. You probably shouldn't be looking for a love interest because you're sixteen, it can affect you mentally at your age. You're a great guy you know that? You're the first human I met who didn't try to catch me for their own personal gain. From what I've seen you're not selfish, you put others first than you. Just please get better for our sake.) She floated to the door and left.

Ulysses tried to process what happened while his hand was on his cheek, (She's right, I am beter than this. I can't be hung up on this, I'm still young for crying out loud.)

He soon went to bed and got up early the next morning before anyone else.
