8. The Cyber Fleet Commander.
The Cyberman steps into the Tardis, pushing Crystelle aside, Miranda style. Crystelle is small and slight of build. This must be their way. "Who are you?" He addresses the three others.
Crystelle moves around him to be in front of him. "Are you Koshan?"
"Yes. I am Koshan. Ex commander of the Cyber Fleet."
At last they have found him!
"I'm sorry," Crystelle says. "Do you remember the Doctor?"
Koshan pauses. "Yes."
"The Doctor told me that you wanted to destroy the Cyber Fleet."
"I want to destroy all Cybermen. Everywhere. Utterly."
"But you are incarcerated now," Crystelle says. "Tell us what happened."
"What is your intention?" Koshan says.
"We want to stop the Cybermen" Crystelle says. "Recruiting, upgrading... I've told my volunteers here as much as I know."
"Only four of you against the armies of the Cybermen?" Koshan wonders. Maybe disgusted isn't going far enough!
"I know it doesn't seem much," Crystelle says. "How might we destroy the Cybermen?"
"There is the Cyberium," Koshan says. "The knowledge base that all Cybermen refer back to. Destroy that and the Cybermen are useless. If you destroy the Cybermen and leave the Cyberium Library and they will always regroup and restart. But if you leave even just one Cyberman, they will always restart."
"Can you tell us where the Cyberium is?" Crystelle asks.
"Our task is hopeless," Koshan says. "The Cyberium knowledge resides in the brain of every Cyberman. You have to eradicate every last Cyberman. And then the copy in the Central Cyberium Library."
"Just how does the Library copy relate to the Cybermen?" Crystelle asks.
"Every Cyberman refreshes the Cyberium knowledge base every day directly from the Cyberium Library," Koshan says. "Upload and Download. So, every new snippet of information is stored. I'm barring this conversation so far, but the Cyberium will know that I am withholding information, at some point, soon."
"Where is the Cyberium Library? Can we see it?" Crystelle asks.
"No, there is no chance of that," Koshan says. "I'm stuck in this holding cell. When I came back from the mission as Cyber Flight Commander, I made a false move to destroy Cybermen. I was classed as faulty."
"If I can get you out of the holding cell could you take us to the Cyberium Library?" Crystelle asks.
"We would have to go to Cyberium One," Koshan says. "This planet is Cyberium Twelve."
The Tardis zizzes. Voice control is on!
Crystelle recognises that the Tardis has moved by the zizzing. "Where on Cyberium One do we need to go to?"
Crystelle is sure the Tardis can take them to just the place, but they will need to know just where that place is.
"Inside the Central Cyberium Library on Cyberium One," Koshan says.
No further Tardis sounds are heard.
Crystelle steps over to the Tardis door and opens it. They all look out through the door.
