Hoggle stood behind Sarah as she threw clothes at him from her wardrobe.
Where on Earth was she ever going to find a wedding gown for tomorrow?
"Sarah, maybe you are looking in the wrong place. Maybe-"
"Hoggle! Where else could I possibly look?" She said as she grabbed the last two gowns from the wardrobe and threw them behind her. She looked at Hoggle, a frown on her face.
"Sarah, please calm down. You will find something."
"Oh, Hoggle! It's no use!" She said as she turned back to the wardrobe, exasperated.
She saw something. A slight crack in the back of the wardrobe, a complete rectangle.
"What? What is that, Hoggle?"
Hoggle shrugged. Sarah climbed into the wardrobe and patted the rectangle. She began to bang at it.
"What could this possibly be? Now I'm curious! ...Maybe Jareth can answer this!" And with that she got up and went to walk out the door, but before she could even take a step she heard something creak. She turned back to the wardrobe. The rectangle had slid away, revealing a hidden room.
She gasped, "Hoggle, do you see that?"
"I do."
Sarah's curiosity peaked, and she climbed straight through the hole.
"Are you coming, Hoggle?"
The dwarf stood shuffling his feet, " I'd rather stay out here, thanks!"
Sarah rolled her eyes and continued into the room.
She gasped apon entering.
In ther very center of the room stood a simple mannequin, with a not so simple white gown.
Sarah ran to it and touched its soft fabric. It was covered in diamonds and all kinds of glittery things. It had huge ruffles and beautiful laces and a long trailing skirt, not too long, not too short. It was everything Sarah wanted in a wedding dress.
How could Jareth possibly know that?
She held her hands to her mouth and began to cry tears of absolute joy. She was so happy. No more searching, no more stress.
"Do you like it?"
Sarah spun around in shock.
Jareth stood behind her with a soft smile on his face.
"This is really for me?"
"Why wouldn't it be, Precious? It was in your wardrobe."
"It's too big and fancy for me, it can't possibly be mine."
"Sarah, I know it is. I know it's everything you want. I have known."
"But how can you possibly know that about me?"
"Darling, you underestimate my power. I know everything there is, everything there was, and everything that will be."
"But then why did you get upset when I said I wouldn't marry you?"
"Sarah, stop breaking the fourth wall..."
"Sorry... Buti can't possibly wear this! It's too much!"
"But it's just want you want, my dear, and I can tell you couldn't find anything else..."
Sarah bit her lip. She knew she had to wear it, like he said, she had nothing else to wear...
"I will wear it, but on one condition."
"And what is that, Precious?" Jareth asked with smile on his face, happy to do Sarah's bidding.
"Remember that song you sang when we danced together for the first time?"
"Yes, what of it, darling?"
"I want you to sing that for our first dance."
Jareth didn't know what to say. He knew he was a good singer, but that good. No. Possibly not. And in front of all those people? He didn't know.
He sighed, "I will sing it for us. Anything for you, my love."
Sarah squealed in delight and hugged Jareth as tight as he could. He embraced her too and kissed the top of her head.
"Oh, and I want our ceremony by the well in the garden, too." Sarah said looking up at Jareth.
"That can be arranged, Precious."
Sarah stood on her tiptoes to kiss him on the lips. She could feel Jareth smile as they did. She was happy and she knew Jareth was too.
