I couldn't believe what has happened in the last forty-eight hours. It was only two days ago that I wasn't a married duck, now I'm laying in bed next to my husband. Husband, that's a word I never thought I'll use. Turning over, I gaze at his gentle sleeping face. He has white feathers like mine and bright red hair cut in a buzzcut. His orange beak is strongly chiseled and he as several lean muscles. Slowly his eyes flickered opened to reveal the same soft azure gaze I fell in love with a year ago today.
"Darlin'? Somethin' wrong?" He asked, his voice husky from sleep.
I gave him a small smile, "Oh! Nothing for you to worry about JJ. I was thinking about the whirlwind us getting married caused... also some creative kid names."
JJ sat up in bed grinning, "Yea, we need names, three each!"
I shrugged, "As long I get a Turbo, I'm good!"
JJ snorted, "Turbo? Really? Why not Rebel while your at it?"
I smirked at the unspoken challenge, "Okay so two of the boys will be Turbo and Rebel, let's give the last one half of your name, I'm thinking second J?"
JJ grinned broadly, "Little Jet does have a nice ring to it. Okay that's three boys, now I'll love to see you come up with three adventure themed girl names!"
Grabbing my phone a googled gemstone names for girls. JJ rolled his eyes before jumping in with some weird ones he heard in the army. Laughing, I nudged him hard has I climbed out of bed. It was five thirty, no reason to go back to sleep with how wide awake we are right now. JJ watched me get ready for the day, smiling softly.
"Hey Dells? Know what? I'm glad we decided to get married. Our future kids are very lucky to have us." JJ spoke up, for once the loud jovial private was soft and serious.
I smiled at him before speaking up eagerly, "I know, and you know why I know Jiminy Jet? Because they've got two of the world's best pilot's to show them the ropes."
JJ chuckled has he climbs out of bed, "How 'bout somethin' to eat? Love ya Dells."
I smiled straight back at him, for I love this duck very much and nothing will stop me from having a family with him! Not even my fellow adventurers, for my name is Della Duck niece of Scrooge McDuck!
(Time Skip Ten Years...)
"Mom! Rebel is making Turbo do all have his chores!"
"Mom! Turbo ripped my favorite hoodie!"
"Mom! Jet is being bossy again!"
"Mommy! I wanna go play at Funzo's!"
I groaned inwardly has I tried to feed the baby breakfast. Giving on that being possible with the racket my other children were making, I sat the eleven month old down to play in order to give the others my attention.
"Rebel, do your own chores, Turbo apologize, Treas we'll go to Funzo's later, and Jet I'm in charge not you... where did Sky crawl off to?" I froze when I noticed my youngest daughter was now missing. I have five kids, three boys and two girls. The oldest at ten are Jet, Turbo, and Rebel, followed by Treasure(Treas for short) at five, and Baby Sky at eleven months.
The boys are all identical triplets with my chocolate eyes and snow white hair. Luckily the triplets insist on wearing their favorite colors all the time. Treas has her father's red hair and my chocolate eyes, while Baby Sky has my white hair and his azure eyes.
Treas beamed brightly at me, "Sky crawled into the livin' room Mommy!"
Not for the first time, I'm glad our little adobe doesn't have any stairs inside it. I grasped my crutch and hobbled into the adjacent room to see Sky trying to pushing the volume button on the TV set. Luckily it wasn't on at the moment. I carefully picked her up trying not to put any pressure on my bad leg. Noticing that even Sky was getting restless, I let out a tired sigh.
"Everyone go grab your Funzo money. We're going in five minutes okay?" I told my kiddos, who scattered to find the individual bags of money that they work hard to earn just to spend at the arcades. I smiled to myself as I got the diaper/purse bag ready to go. Ever since the boys hatched, I've been a stay at home mom and loving it. After all, there isn't very many people that will hire a cripple like me. Besides, I enjoy being a mother. And it's not like a trip to Funzo's will change anything at all! At least that's what I thought, fate had something else in mind...
