"Samantha! Now!" Elizabeth cried as the mark on Elizabeth's right shoulder started to glow purple and Samantha ran at the attacker. Elizabeth had gotten kidnapped by a group of perverted men that were planning on selling her on the black market. It had been the latest mission she got from the Queen. This group of men had been stealing girls her age and selling them to the highest bidder to be a sex slave or anything really so in order to capture them Elizabeth used herself as bait. It had been a month after that dreaded ball and Elizabeth kept far away from society drowning herself in missions and work for the company. That's how it led up to this moment when Samantha threw platinum knives at the men and Elizabeth pulled a sword out of her corset starting to fight men on her own.
As the two women fought, the men went down one after the other and just as Elizabeth was about to end the last one a knife came out of nowhere hitting him in the neck. The blonde haired young woman glared at her maid who was perched on the wall above beside her. "I had him." Samantha dropped down with ease and straightened up wiping the blood off her clothes.
"Of course my Lady, I simply was helping you get rid of the garbage." She smirked, her eyes closing as she bowed to the fuming Lady. Elizabeth rolled her eyes as she wiped her blade of the sword clean and placed it back in her corset, then walked towards the door. Stepping over the body's Elizabeth kept calm and if anyone else had seen her they would have considered her crazy for how calm and collected she was as Samantha followed closely behind. Unknown to them a figure watched from the roof of the building next door that smiled impressively at the girl.
"Well, the master will certainly be interested to hear this." With that thought the figure lepted into the night and ran all the way back to a little village. The lights were all a glow as he slowed his pace and saw people walking for a late night stroll. Eventually he got to where he needed to be, the biggest house in the whole village. The house stood on top of a hill that overlooked the whole town and was more like a manor then a house, with all the lights inside lit up. The man checked the time on his pocket watch and mentally cursed himself, he was 20 minutes later from what his master originally told him. Walking in he saw the same blood red carpet as before with the large double staircase in front of him and a painting of a beautiful flower field in between the staircases. Taking the left staircase he walked up to another hallway filled with many famous paintings stolen from museums all over the world, from the Mona Lisa to The Starry Night. Finally he reached the door to the library and knocked twice before he heard a "Come in." and the man opened the door and walked in.
The library really was an impressive sight, in front were two large windows with nine panels each and with a little living room of sorts in the middle of the room with three couches surrounding a fireplace on the right side. All around the fireplace were books that stopped when it got to the second level, which one could get up too by the spiral staircase on the left side and just everywhere around was books. A young man recently turned seventeen as of last week was reading a book on the closest couch by the fire as it roared, the only couch that also faced the door directly. He wore a tailored blue suit, his blue/black hair covered his eyes as he read his book. The man at the door cleared his throat to gain the attention of the blue haired man on the couch. Looking up from his book his one blue eye looked up at his butler, his other eye a dark burgundy color, Ciel Phantomhive.
"Sebastian, finally you're back. You're late you know." Ciel closed his book with a disinterested look on his face. The demon butler simply bowed to his long time master, his hand over the non-beating heart.
"My apologies master but it seems as though our target decided to take a trip to the wrong side of town. I had to make sure she would get out alive or what kind of butler would I be?" At Sebastian's words Ciel abruptly stood up causing the book to fall and his cup of tea on the table to wobble. Thankfully no tea spilled but Ciel's eyes grew concerned and scared, an emotion he doesn't normally show.
"Lizzy!? Is she ok?!" Sebastian stood straight again and let no emotion show on his handsome face. This caused Ciel to grow more scared and anxious as he walked up to his butler grabbed his collar and pulled him close his eyes glowing red and murder danced in them.
"Sebastian answer me! Is Elizabeth ok?!" The said demon butler stood stunned at his master's actions. Gently Sebastian grabbed Ciel's wrist and took it off his jacket, despite Ciel now being stronger since he was part demon Sebastian overpowered him with ease. The older demon's face went back to no emotion as he lowered Ciel's arm and dropped it.
"She's fine, her demon maid made sure of that. Besides she fought the gentlemen on her own with a sword, but I'm sure you know how capable she is with a sword." Ciel's eyebrows furrowed as he looked down the memories of that ship coming back to him. Without saying anything the young man walked away having his back facing his butler before he stopped suddenly and whipped around, his eyes gleaming with worry.
"Wait a second. Did you just say Demon maid? As in she formed a contract with a demon?!" Ciel was now shaking and Sebastian was surprised it took him this long to realize he said that.
"Yes." A moment of silence passed between them before Ciel stormed past Sebastian and out the door. The red eyed demon stood there for a few seconds before following his master out the door and found Ciel putting on his coat that hung near the front door.
"Master, may I ask where are you going?" Ciel glanced up at his butler at the top of the staircases as he grabbed his top hat and cane as well.
"To Elizabeth, where else? I have to stop her from getting her soul taken." Ciel put his cane under his armpit and started putting on his gloves as Sebastian stepped closer to the railing.
"You can't do that master. You know better than anyone that a contract between a demon and a human can't be broken. But more than that if you, master, try to stop it, that is against the demon law and you could be killed, never to see Lady Elizabeth again." Ciel stopped his movements as the words processed in his head. Slowly he removed the gloves and put back the hat and cane before he sighed and once again looked up at the older demon.
"You're right, I suppose. And I can't fight for her soul...I'm not a full demon. Alright, Sebastian, you are to keep an eye on her in case she needs anymore help, then you are to step in. That is an order, understood?" Ciel's burgundy eye glowed as well as Sebastian's eyes and hand while the butler bowed to his master.
"Yes master." Ciel sighed and nodded, still worried about the blonde as he looked out the window as the new fallen rain fell.
Cities and towns away the blonde haired girl in question sat also looking out the window at the rain having just returned from her mission, when her maid came in the study.
"My lady it is time for your demon lessons." Elizabeth slid her eyes over to her maid then back to the rain before sighing and standing up from her chair.
"Very well. Shall we go then? This will be my first time in the palace." Samantha nodded and stepped out of the way as Elizabeth walked out of the room. Samantha was going to take Elizabeth to the palace of Hell and introduce her to the staff and a tour of the palace. As well as where she will sleep, how she should address issues, and so on and so forth. Basically Samantha will be stepping back into her princess role while Elizabeth was to shadow her and learn everything she did. Every Demon princess did this once the basics were taught to the next princess to be. Elizabeth's black heeled boots clipped and clomped against the floor of the manor as the two walked to the front door with elegance and grace. Once the two of them reached the front door Samantha turned to the staff of the Phantomhive manor, who stood by the door to say goodbye.
"Mey-Rin is everything packed in the carriage?" The clumsy maid stood straight saluting the demon maid.
"Yes ma'am!" Samantha nodded in response as she pulled on her black leather gloves and Finnian helped Elizabeth into her coat.
"Baldroy, were snacks prepared for the trip?"
"Yup just as you ordered." Baldroy had his arms crossed as he spoke while Elizabeth looked around for Pluto. The hell hound still lived at the manor and served Elizabeth much to Samantha's dismay. Being a demon cat she always hated dogs by nature and Pluto hated her right back. It was a constant war with those two, the dog and cat.
"Where's Pluto?" Finnian responded to Elizabeth's question from behind her as he smoothed out her coat.
"I believe he's in the garden my Lady. You know he much prefers to be out there nowadays." Samantha looked in the opposite direction of Elizabeth as an angry mark showed on her forehead.
"Stupid dog…" Samantha muttered under her breath. When Elizabeth's coat was all smoothed out she turned to Finnian as he straightened and put his hands behind his back.
"Watch over him, Finnian, make sure he doesn't cause too much trouble. Also make sure he comes inside. I don't want him out in this rain." Finnian nodded as Samantha opened the door and stepped out, opening an umbrella in the process. Mey-Rin handed Elizabeth her little hand bag and the young blonde stepped out of the house underneath the umbrella. Before the two left Elizabeth turned over her shoulder to speak with the three servants one last time before the journey to the underworld.
"Take care of the house while we're gone." Finnian and Mey-Rin saluted to Elizabeth saying a 'Yes Ma'am' as Baldroy turned his head, eyes closed and still arms crossed muttering 'ya ya'. Elizabeth nodded and walked with Samantha to the carriage, her maid opening up the door and Elizabeth stepped inside, Samantha closing the door behind her. Samantha then climbed into the driver's seat and with a flick of the reins they were off to the palace of Hell.
Getting to Hell was a lot easier than Elizabeth thought it was gonna be. All they had to do was go somewhere very very remote with no one around for miles and miles. It took about an hour or two to find such a place and when they did Samantha slowed the carriage to a stop. Elizabeth looked out the window to see that they were in a forest surrounded by nothing but trees. Luckily the rain had also stopped. The noble woman's thoughts were interrupted when Samantha opened the door for Elizabeth to get out.
"As you know any princess of Hell can open a portal to and from the mortal world. Since we both know I can do it this is a good time for you to learn how." Elizabeth nodded and stepped out of the carriage following Samantha to the front of the horse that pulled the carriage. Samantha then grabbed a stick and started to draw in the dirt.
"You must use your own blood and write this symbol on the tree in front of you." Elizabeth looked horrified when she heard the word blood.
"Are you insane?! You want me to cut myself?!" Samantha's violet eyes shifted up catching Elizabeth in a deadly glare meaning that she was very serious. The said young girl held the stare before sighing and giving up pulling a small dagger from her boot. Carefully she sliced her left hand open, wincing at the pain. Then stepping up to the tree to the left in front of her she used her right hand to draw the symbol looking back at the dirt every so often to make sure she got it right. As she drew Samantha walked over until she was behind Elizabeth making sure it was going right. Once she was done the demon maid spoke up again her violet eyes glowing in the moonlight.
"Now place your sliced hand on the symbol and repeat after me. In atrium principis inferos." Elizabeth took a breath then placed her hand on the symbol causing Elizabeth's own eyes to glow a brighter green.
"In atrium principis inferos." The symbol started glowing and with a shake the tree fell through the ground opening a large hole in the earth. For a moment the hole was just a dark black abyss but then it started to glow red and a black staircase appeared reaching up to the surface where Samantha and Elizabeth stood. Samantha of course had no emotion to her face as Elizabeth's eyes grew and her mouth dropped in fear at the sudden hole and staircase.
"Alright then, let's go." The demon maid stated as she started walking towards the black stairs leading all the way down.
"What?! You want me to go down that?! That staircase appeared out of nowhere! And what happened to the tree?!" As Elizabeth freaked out Samantha merely raised an eyebrow at the teenage girl and as the blonde rambled on Samantha got annoyed and snapped her fingers and suddenly Elizabeth had no voice. Try as she might, the young girl couldn't utter a single sound and she looked at Samantha in a 'what the hell?' look.
"If you want to be as powerful as I am when you become the demon princess you will shut your mouth and follow me." Elizabeth nodded annoyed but agreed nonetheless and Samantha gave a short nod before walking down the staircase the blonde following close behind. The two walked, down, down, down the staircase and Elizabeth was starting to lose her patience, and was growing exhausted. However, her voice was still gone because of Samantha taking it away so the teenage girl silently brooded during the long walk with her arms crossed. After what seemed like hours, maybe even days, the two finally reached the bottom of the staircase where Elizabeth's eyes widened and grew as she looked at the palace of Hell.
The entire castle was built in black marble and looked like an old renaissance castle with towers and giant gates protecting the front doors. Screams all over could be heard from the torched souls that came to Hell once they died and black mountains stood all around them with the sky a dark burnt orange color. For some reason the temperature was a lot cooler then Elizabeth thought it would be. Meaning she thought it was burning hot like everyone else thought Hell was to be. Samantha continued walking towards the castle as the blonde girl followed looking in awe at the world around her, until they reached the grate of the palace and demons standing guard spoke to them. Elizabeth's eyes grew in size even more at the look of the demons, demons in their true forms. They didn't even look human, instead they were black figures in the shape of humans with darkness surrounding them with red eyes that was the definition of "if looks could kill". The young adult looked at her maid who looked completely at home and at peace with everything happening around her.
"Qui enim(who goes there)?!" one of the guards called from his post. Luckily Samantha had taught Elizabeth Latin before they came, as one of the basic demon princess lessons she had to take, so she could understand what was said. According to Samantha, demons native tongue is latin but the princess can change it to whatever they want. Samantha liked latin more than her original language which was why she never changed it.
"Tu ergo noli me in porcos daemonium princeps vester (Your demon princess you swine now let me in)," Samantha said irritated, her violet eyes glowing causing the guards to start freaking out and apologizing to her as they opened the gates and the royal demon just started walking again no thank you or anything. Elizabeth was surprised by her maid's words as it was incredibly rude and improper.
"In order to keep this kingdom running, being mean and rude is the only way to get them to listen to you. If you are nice and proper those demons could walk all over you and things could get very out of hand quickly." Samantha said as they walked across the bridge that covered the moat of blood and Elizabeth swore something moved under the liquid, her thoughts were proved right when a giant bone serpent raised its head out from the blood roaring loud enough to make the girl cover her ears. However instead of being scared of the thing Elizabeth simply smirked intrigued by the hellish creature.
"Don't get too close or he will bite your head off faster then you can scream," Elizabeth looked at Samantha to see if she was joking only to find her stone faced. However the blonde young woman wasn't afraid at all and actually did the opposite of what she was told. Elizabeth stopped walking and turned to the bone serpent and stepped up closer to the edge of the bridge. The beast and girl locked eyes as Samantha noticed there was no screaming from the bone serpent. Instead the serpent simply stared at the young girl as if they were having a staring contest. Elizabeth took another step forward getting to the edge of the bridge and raised her eyebrows in sign of daring the bone monster to do something. The serpent crept closer and Samantha got ready to pull Elizabeth out of the way when the most incredible thing happened.
The young blonde's green eyes widened in dominance and serpent stopped moving. Elizabeth without breaking eye contact lowered her head in a sense of "Back down" and the shocking part was, as the serpent listened he dove back into the moat of blood. Readjusting her posture Elizabeth stood straight and looked back at her maid with no expression as the current Princess of Hell looked at her mistress in surprise.
"What?" Elizabeth asked, causing the demon to snap out of her look and smirk back at the young woman.
"Nothing, I'm just intrigued on how you will run things here, when you are crowned Princess." Samantha said with a cat-like smile and her eyes closed.
"Queen."
"Hmm?" Elizabeth simply straightened up as her maid's smile fade and she looked at the blonde confused.
"Ciel is a demon and as soon as I take the throne, he will be by my side and we will be crowned the King and Queen of Hell." No smile graced her face, no ounce of the innocence the blonde used to have when she was younger. No, the woman now was already a Queen just without her crown, and she would be damned if she didn't get her King back. Samantha smirked this time and bowed to Elizabeth with a hand over her chest.
"Of course, milady," the demon then rose and turned her back to the soon to be Queen of Hell, "No more dawdling, my mistress. It is time you meet your soon to be subjects." And with that she walked off through the large double black metal doors with Elizabeth close behind. The doors of the castle of Hell closing behind them.
Author note: Hey everyone who is still reading this! I know I am /strongstrongincredibly late and I'm so sorry for that however for the next part of the story I'm going to need your help. This story can go one of two ways and you guys will be my deciding vote. The first is that this visit to the castle is going to be when Elizabeth becomes Princess for a certain reason and will find Ciel sooner and all that. However on the other side nothing will happen other then Elizabeth meeting the staff and everyone seeing that she will make a great ruler. After that her and Samantha will return home and I will write more missions they go on before Elizabeth's contract is up. Let me know in the comments if you would rather Elizabeth become the Princess now or later
