In this fic, the Light won the War, like canon, but Snape survived and pretty much nothing else from this story is canon.

This is a birthday gift for Gab, also known as HecateA, and though this is coming out early, I couldn't wait to give it to her. Happy birthday for the 24th, Gab!

It had been hours since Pomona had been admitted to St Mungo's, and Minerva was relieved she wouldn't be in the building long, or there would have been carnage. As it was, Minerva had taken her lover some sunflowers, one of the only plants they both loved. The three terrorists who attacked her girlfriend, were going to face retribution from the Transfiguration Mistress.

After finding out when Pomona would be released, which was the next day, Minerva left the building and disapparated with a pop. The home she apparated to was on the edges of the city, but the Dundee residents barely noticed the differences with it. The house, covered in protective wards, looked the same as the surrounding ones, though each had its own personality. Some had flowers out the front, others had plain grass; one even had a swing hanging from the tree out the front.

The house Minerva and her girlfriend stayed in had a greenhouse, which contained magical plants, out the front and the wooden picket fence had more defensive capabilities than the fences of the surrounding houses. The wards woven into the very air embraced Minerva as she busied herself with making a cup of tea; she was going to need it if she was to form a plan to take down the three people who dared harm her girlfriend.

One hour and three revenge plans later, Minerva was calm enough to think about her girlfriend's situation rationally. She knew it could have happened to anyone, and cursed her luck; she had suffered through the Marauders, the Weasley twins, two Wizarding Wars, and was currently dealing with the Potter kids. She didn't need to deal with the stress of her girlfriend's injury added to that. With the current situation, Minerva knew she had a good enough plan to take out at least one of the perpetrators.

With this in mind, and knowing she had to be at Hogwarts the next day, Minerva cleaned the things she had used in making the tea and apparated to Hogsmeade. Even though she knew she could apparate inside the grounds, Minerva still preferred to apparate to Hogsmeade and walk to the castle. On the way up, Minerva was greeted with the sight of students of all houses laughing and enjoying each other's company; something that would have been impossible if not for Harry Potter's belief that only the guilty should be punished. As she passed groups of students, she was greeted like any other person, some struggling to breathe from laughing.

The bonds in the magical community were growing stronger every minute, and Minerva was able to see these bonds grow with her own eyes. With each passing minute, the Headmistress relaxed a little more and her heart felt lighter. The staff knew of her relationship with the Herbology Professor, so they weren't that surprised when she went up to her office right after arriving.

That night, the students had picked up on the fact that Professor Sprout wasn't present, so Minerva decided to explain her absence. When the feast ended, MInerva stood up and moved to the lectern.

"As you can see, Professor Sprout is not present tonight; this is due to an injury caused by an attack in Hogsmeade. The Professor had been walking back to the castle when three people in masks jumped her, and she was knocked out. Madam Rosmerta then found Professor Sprout when she was looking out the window, and asked me to go geet her, as I was in the Three Broomsticks at the time.

When I saw her injuries, I brought her up to Madam Pomfrey who then said to take her to St Mungo's, which is where she is currently. Professor Sprout will be released from the general ward tomorrow, but will most likely not be able to take lessons for a couple days afterward. Due to this, all Herbology lessons for the rest of the week will be cancelled, to allow for the Professor to recover."

This was greeted with much applause for the Herbology Professor's quick recovery, and for the cancelled lessons as well. With the free period for those taking Herbology, the library and common rooms would be more busy, but Minerva couldn't see a way around the situation. With the new century just around the corner, Minerva was worried what the celebrations would entail, especially with the new Weasley and Weasley products that were being advertised. The Headmistress could only hope the students, and the Weasley twins, wouldn't go too far overboard.

The turn of the century would also be a good time to start putting her plans into action. She would be able to send Severus Snape some rare potions ingredients, with an undetectable tracking charm on the box. Then, Minerva would be able to take Severus out; he had more than enough crimes to send him to Azkaban for life, all she had to do was turn him over to the aurors and the newly-reformed justice system would do the rest.

Minerva was sitting in her office when the tracking charm on Severus' gift went off, and she contacted Madam Bones. The charm showed that Severus was in Lin, which Minerva knew to be located on the shores of Lake Ohrid. Minerva called Harry up to her office and asked him to run the castle for a few hours, because he was the Deputy Head. Once Harry agreed, Minerva quickly disapparated, to appear on the outskirts of Lin. She transfigured her emerald green robes into some jeans and a t-shirt; an outfit Harry had introduced to her, and that had quickly become a favourite of hers.

Her lemon yellow shirt helped Minerva to blend in, and she decided to wear her hair in just a ponytail. As she wandered through the streets, red foxes darted around her legs and wove through the crowd. When Minerva reached the house Severus was staying in, she found foxes lazing about in the shade of the surrounding houses. After quickly disillusioning herself, Minerva turned her outfit back into robes, and did her hair up, before moving to the door. She knocked and then let the charm fall as Severus opened the door to greet her.

When Severus saw Minerva, he froze and was hit by the blue light of the petrification charm. The next thing he knew, he was in a Ministry holding cell.

When Minerva arrived back at Hogwarts, she notified the staff and they celebrated into the early hours of the morning, before they all dropped to sleep in odd places. They would wake up in dogpiles, on tables, and on cupboards, but none of them spoke of it; there was a silent agreement between all the members of staff to never speak of that night in the staffroom again.

Minerva went with Pomona back to her quarters and they spent the rest of the day together. They did some celebrating of their own in the form of a night in, because one of Pomona's attackers had been found and brought to justice; there were two to go.
