Chapter 8 – Rehearsal
True to Nick's word, the next day after school, the eight friends went back to the clubhouse for rehearsal. They found the instruments in the music room! Nick even let Chloe watch the rehearsal!
Nick: Okay, TenderVille Kids, let's start rehearsing! Ready, Liam?
Liam: Ready, Nick! (plays a few notes on the piano)
Nick: Ready, Felicity?
Felicity: Yep! And Dereck's ready with the drums. (plays a few notes on her carnival calliope)
Dereck: Watch this! (plays a few notes on the drums)
Nick: Great drum playing, Dereck! Are you ready, Stacy?
Stacy: Uh-huh! (plays a few notes on the keyboard)
Nick: What about you, Melvin?
Melvin: Ready, Nick! (plays a few notes on the bass)
Nick: Ready, Spike?
Spike: Sure am! (plays a few notes on the sax)
Nick: Alright then! Watch this, Chlo, you'll like this!
With that, Nick started playing his guitar as the other TenderVille Kids played along.
Nick (singing): We are the kids who care,
Liam (singing): when you are in despair.
Nick and Liam (singing): Our fun is what we share, the TenderVille Kids.
Felicity (singing): We always have lots of fun.
Stacy (singing): In the rain or the sun.
Felicity and Stacy (singing): We play 'til the day is done, the TenderVille Kids.
Melvin (singing) : Our music is playing throughout the day
Spike (singing): When we're together, we'll all cheer hooray
Dereck (singing): When your day is becoming tough and you have had enough,
Nick, Liam, Felicity, Dereck, Spike, Stacy and Melvin (singing): We will all show our stuff, the TenderVille Kids
Ten-der Ville, Kids, TenderVille Kids
Nick, Liam, Felicity, Dereck, Spike, Stacy and Melvin (speaking): That's us!
As soon as the song was over, Chloe clapped her hands! She really liked the rehearsal!
Chloe: That was amazing, guys! You have a great talent!
Felicity: Thank you, Chloe!
Liam: Even a band has to rehearse before the day of a show!
The others agreed! Then, Spike notices a box near the closet and recognized it.
Spike: Look! Our concert clothes are in here!
Nick: Good work, Spike!
Nick opened the box, brought out the concert clothes and handed each one to the band members! First was a black jacket and black fedora for Liam. Then came Felicity's red ringmaster's coat with gold trim and black top hat. Followed by Stacy's Blue sweater with stars on it, black long pants, and silver Chelsea-inspired boots & Melvin's blue hoodie and blue fedora. Last to come out was Spike's black fedora with two playing cards in the hat band.
Nick: Good thing we place them in there for safe keeping!
Liam: That might be true, but we've got a problem!
And Liam was right! The concert clothes were too small for the band members! In a problem like this, there was only one thing to do.
Stacy: We've got some shopping to do!
