A/N: Hello, it has been a REALLY long time since my last story. Reasons being my life has been super busy, and trying to find the motivation to come back and write on this site. But now that we're living through a pandemic and in lockdown hell, I finally have the drive to come back.
Ever since my last story, I've branched out with other comics to read, including Y: The Last Man and Saga (which I am writing about for this fic). The duration of this story will last as long as I feel as though it needs to be. Same statement applies for when a new chapter will release.
The following takes place between the events of Saga volumes 5 and 6.
If you want to keep updated with this story, make sure you follow so you don't miss a single chapter.
With that being said, let's begin...
Saga: Tales of Quietus
Chapter One: Disgrace
Silence...
Momentary silence was the only thing that swept the air after what had happened. Prince Robot IV, ragged and held onto his infant son, his little Princeling, after mercilessly killing his abductor, Dengo. His witnesses were his former accomplice, Ghüs, a walking seal farmer riding a walrus creature and his targets of his previous mission, Marko and Alana, a Wreather and a Landfallian, respectively. Everyone was traumatised for their own reasons. Ghüs looked down at Friendo. "We have to get outta here before we freeze to death." IV, even with a robotic head of a television, felt physically irritated by the interruption of his reunion and meeting of his son. Upon this, he started walking with Ghüs but not before stopping. "Marko." he called out. Hearing this, Marko turned and faced him, startled for words. IV looked at him with his blank, cracked screen and said, "Our 'alliance', for lack of a better word, is no longer necessary now that my boy is safe with me. You are no more value to me, nor were you ever." While he said this, his screen projected an image of a metal chain breaking in half. He walked away and added, "Now, get off both of your arses to your pissing ship and get us the fuck off this frozen shithole." With IV out of sight, Marko turned to Alana. "Marko," Alana, finally broke her silence and as she was close to breaking down, said, "th-they got Hazel." Marko, not wanting to see his beloved in pain, not even from himself, calmed her down, "Hey," he extended his hand to hold Alana's, "we'll work together to find her, my love." Hearing this, Alana slowly held out her hand and both hands connected firmly. "Let's go." Marko directed her to the rocketship, "We better not keep the others waiting."
The treehouse ship flew in the vastness of space, unknowing of where it will go next. Inside, Marko and Alana discussed with each other about Prince Robot IV. "Alana, the deal was that we joined together until we found and rescued you, Hazel, Mom and the Prince's son." Marko stated, but Alana wouldn't find reason in the alliance. "So, you mean to tell me that you trusted that fucking, psychotic, chauvanistic maniac who tried to kill us for concieving a child?!" She snapped at Marko, while interrogating. He raised his hands in a defensive manner and responded with, "OK, OK, on paper, it sounds ridiculous and we both would've killed each other but it hadn't thanks to Ghüs and Yuma." Alana 's eyes widened hearing Yuma's name, "Yuma?" She asked, "Well, where the fuck IS she?!" Marko looked down sad and depressed. "Yuma..." he struggled to finish his sentence but continued, "Yuma sacrificed herself for us to get to you." That sentence was enough to stun Alana "Oh, God..." she uttered, "I'm-I'm sorry." Marko gave her a weak smile. "It's alright."
After a few seconds of silence, the two of them were brought back to the present. "So," Alana started, "what are we gonna do now?" Marko looked out the window to see Demimonde out of eyesight and said, "First things first, we have to get Ghüs back to Quietus and then we need to find any leads to where they've taken Hazel and Mom." Alana knew Mark missed out an important detail, "What about him?" She pointed at the Prince, who stared at them, arms folded with frustration, leaning against a piece of wood. "Yes, pray fucking tell." IV called across to them, "What about me? Marko sighed realising this oversight.
Ghüs, who had been tending to Friendo, overheard this and chimes in. "How about we go together with the little guy to Quietus?" The Prince's screen started to buffer, "I. BEG. YOUR. FUCKING. PARDON?!" Ghüs startled at the profanity as the robot loomed over him, "Hey, you! Not when you have the kid!" IV backed away from the tiny seal, "He can't hear me," he responded and pointed to a door, "He's asleep in there." Marko looked at where IV pointed, and asked, angrily, "In Hazel's room?!" IV slyly looked at the pathetic stranger and said, "Well, it's not her room at this moment in time." He walked around the middle. "After all, you couldn't even save her in time whilst worrying about your precious little whore, like the pathetic Moonie you are!" Marko, with all his built up rage from these words, began lashing out at IV, "SAY THAT AGAIN, YOU BASTARD!!" Alana held him back and said, "Marko, stop, he's just getting to you. It's not worth it." With a few breaths, he snapped back to his normal calm self. IV went back to Ghüs and while pointing at him, stated, "Whatever, but mark my words, there is no way in this god forsaken universe that I will be stranded alongside an annoying spastic seal!!" Marko raised an eyebrow and added "But, you're still exiled from the Robot Kingdom for helping me, aren't you?" IV stared at Marko, fists clenched as he continued, "So, whether or not you want to be with Ghüs doesn't matter, seeing how you and your son can't go back to your kingdom." The screen of IV started to turn red with anger and seconds pass for him to say, "You're all cunts!" He started to walk away from the conversation, "CUNTS, THE THREE OF YOU!!" Ghüs watched him go past the baby's room and while looking hurt, thought to himself, 'Does everyone have a problem with Ghüs?'
The decision was made for Prince Robot IV and his son to join Ghüs and Friendo on Quietus. As they landed, IV was the first person to leave immediately, with child in hand, standing next to Friendo. Ghüs stayed and talked to Marko one more time before departure, "Well, we had our moments but it was a real honour knowing you." Marko smiled at his new friend and they hugged for a long time. After the hug, he looked at both Marko and Alana, "I hope you have the best of luck finding your little girl." he said, reassuringly. Alana held onto Marko's shoulder and responded, "We'll do what we can." This pleasant exchange was interrupted with IV shouting, "Personally, I couldn't give a single toss whether you find your child or not." They groaned and as Ghüs looked back at him, he sighed, "I'll try to keep an eye on this one."
The ship flew away, leaving Ghüs and the Prince on Quietus. The Prince looked at Friendo while holding Princeling away from her, disgusted. "Ghüs, if that thing comes within a metre near my son, I swear, I will give you a firm kick to your thick skull." He threatened, firmly. Ghüs looked at IV, offended and snapped, "Don't you call Friendo a 'thing'. She might not look like it, but she's like a special lady folk among my harvest." IV stared at him blanky, much like his screen, "Well, no matter, I have one more request." he stated. Ghüs looked at him confused and asked, "What is it?" IV leaned in closer to Ghüs, "Find us some shelter and then kindly bugger the fuck off. Understood?" The little seal hopped onto Friendo's back and lead the way for the Prince and infant Princeling, "God help this child." He muttered and looking at the Prince, he said, "Alright, let's go."
They walked for an hour until they reached Ghüs' harvest of Friendo like creatures and saw what remained of a ruined place that was somewhat familiar to the Prince, "This is Heist's lighthouse." He exclaimed, "How the fuck is it burned down?!" Ghüs looked at him, confused, "You don't remember? I thought you were there?" IV looked back at him and said, "I was, but for some reason, I was in a bloody comatose state for the majority of it!" He pointed at the remains of the lighthouse, "How the bloody fuck am I meant raise my boy in exile in THIS?!" Ghüs stared at the aggravated Prince and said, "Look, I could help create furniture to at least make it LOOK like a place to live." IV, realising this fact, groaned and went to look at the ruined lighthouse, muttering, "So much for bigger the fuck off..."
As IV looked at the ruined lighthouse, whilst cradling his only child, he thought to himself, 'Day one of my bloody exile hell, might as well fucking live with it...
Chapter One End
A/N 2: OK, so that's chapter one of this story. I know it's not perfect or great, what with this being a return from a long hiatus. But nonetheless, I hope you've enjoyed it and hopefully, I might come back stronger with the next chapter whenever that's coming. Until then, stay tuned, stay safe and I'll see you next time.
