Chapter 9 – New girl meets mascot
Over the next two weeks, The TenderVille Kids were busy with their shopping and rehearsing. But they were so busy getting ready for the upcoming music contest that no one knew that Chloe was starting to feel left out.
Chloe: What am I going to do? Nick and Liam are so busy with their old friends, but I want to spend time with them as well.
Before the two weeks were over, Chloe was on her way home from school when she saw a big gray tabby cat with black stripes sleeping on a bench.
Chloe: Gosh, I wonder where that cat came from. It's bigger than the other cats I saw!
Chloe looked at the tag on the cat's blue collar. It said 'Trevor Tendercat'!
Chloe: Goodness! He's the cat Nick and Liam told me about!
Just then, Trevor woke up, stretched, and yawned!
Trevor: Boy, that was a great nap I had!
When Chloe heard Trevor speak, she was so scared that she screamed. Her scream scared Trevor that he fell off the bench.
Chloe: I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!
Trevor: That's okay, I get that a lot! A giant talking cat may be scary at first. But, why the upset face?
Chloe: My new friends, Nick and Liam have been so busy with their old friends. They're getting ready for the upcoming music contest at the school. But I feel left out!
Trevor: A music contest? Have you seen one before?
Chloe: Yes, I have! I've seen a music contest in Los Angeles. And sometimes I would-
The memory of the Los Angeles music contest gave Chloe an idea.
Chloe: Yes, yes, why not! I've got to go; I've got something to do.
Chloe said goodbye to Trevor and headed back to Gnome Manor. Trevor was left confused!
Trevor: Was it something I said?
