Author's Note: Hello my lovies, here is the very first chapter of the New Moon part of my adventure with Lettie. Hope you enjoy!

One

September 13th. To anyone else it was just a normal day on the calendar and people would go about their day running errands, going to school, or even go to work. For myself and my twin, it was a day of mixed feelings – both of us having very different reasons. While my sister was an unexpected surprise I was the one no one really counted on. Even now eighteen years later, my hare-brained mother didn't even said happy birthday. I shut down the computer frowning at it. I was up way too early, but then again I didn't sleep very well. A feeling settled in my gut and wouldn't go away something that didn't bode well. All and all I was rather looking forward to school. I had missed some of my friends over the break.

A majority of my summer was split spending time with my boyfriend (my heart still skipped beats when I called him that), and spending time with my best friend on the Reservation. A balance that worked out nice, I loved Jasper and his family, but it was a nice switch to hang out with Jake and his friends down at the reservation. It was nice to escape the supernatural. A balance I almost not thought was not possible, given all the suspicions and hard time the tribe gave the Cullen family.

"They were before me, I'm not going to make you choose between past and present."

I smiled at the words, I had asked him one day if it had bothered him that I was spending time at the reservation, Edward – my twin's other half – did not like her going there as it was somewhere he couldn't follow her. I personally thought it was a control issue, Edward seemed to have a lot of those, and didn't seem to like anything or anyone he couldn't control. Myself case and point. The 'youngest' of the Cullen coven and I seem to have issues, for what I couldn't fathom other than being one of the few people he didn't have control of. Also him having be the reason resulting for a few incidents in the six months that he and my sister had been together, may have played a part of it too. Needless to say he didn't like me. If I was entirely honest, I wasn't partial to him – the relationship he had with my sister was odd. Odder than that of the one I shared with Jasper. With Jasper I felt like an equal partner, he was my protector, my rock, with Isabella and Edward – they craved one another. He her blood, and he seemed to take up a lot of her time. She hardly ever sat with Angela or any of the other kids in our class, or spend time with Charlie, or heck even Jake.

I frowned at my thought process, and glanced at the clock on the bedside. Deciding it was time to really get up I changed out of my pajamas – the satin ones that Alice had gifted me months ago, and into jeans a dark blue sweater. I had grown rather fond of them – and so had Jasper – that Alice had spent more money on me, trying to no doubt replace my wardrobe one piece of clothing at a time. I brushed out my hair leaving it down, and grabbed the leather jacket that sat on the back of my chair. I smiled when I slipped it on, it was one of Jasper's that I've borrowed and never returned. I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs. I could already smell the pot of coffee that Charlie brewed.

"Morning dad!" I said happily, kissing his cheek.

He smiled up at me.

"Happy birthday little bear,"

He hugged me tight.

"Your sister up?" Charlie asked

I shrugged.

"Not sure." I answered honestly.

Charlie frowned but pulled out a small present wrapped in blue wrapping paper.

"Dad you didn't need to get me anything," I murmured taking it from him.

"I wanted to." He said gruffly.

I knew part of the reason wasn't so I felt bad when Bella got her present from Renee. Over the years I've noticed the frequenting missing of myself during birthdays or other celebrations. As a child it bothered me, but as I got older, especially after California, it was something I accepted as normalcy. Ripping open the paper I was shocked to find a photo album, I started giggling because it went with the camera that Emmett had gifted me yesterday.

"It's a day early I know but…it'll make sense."

He all but shoved the thing in my hands after school let out. When I got home I realized it was a really nice digital camera…already prefilled with photos from my favorite family. I laughed hard at some of the candid photos.

"Thanks dad," I said hugging him.

I slipped the book into my bag and I heard the revving of the motorcycle outside. Grinning like a fool, I rushed to the front door, hearing Charlie chuckle at my response. Somehow, probably with his influence, Jasper managed to convince my dad to allow me to ride with him on his motorcycle. I don't know if it was because I am completely enamored with the guy, but the ride was exhilarating.

As I exited the house Jasper was still on the motorcycle but he had his helmet off waiting to greet me, his grin matched my own. He scooped me in for a kiss, honey and chocolate melted my senses as I melted into him. Pulling away his eyes bore into mine in molten amber.

"You're in a good mood," he commented.

"Wonder why?" I asked breathless.

He chuckled rubbing our noses together.

"Happy birthday love," he whispered.

I smiled shyly and hugged him close. Over the summer we had grown incredibly close, neither of us out right saying the l-word, but it was implied and he was still bad for my heart, and my heart always seemed closed to burst with his heartfelt proclamations.

"How was your night?" He asked.

"Long, didn't sleep well." I admitted.

Jasper frowned.

"I'm sorry," He said softly.

"Not your fault."

Jasper and the rest of the Cullen family were out hiking/hunting last night. Most other nights he was with me, holding me throughout the night. Unlike my sister's undead boyfriend, Charlie actually liked Jasper. Bella and Edward had restrictions, visiting hours…if only he knew that Edward was spending every evening in bed with his daughter. Charlie would flip.

"Ready for school?" Jasper asked.

I pouted.

"Do we have to?"

He kissed me again, a little deeper this time, Charlie must not have been watching from the window. Jasper rarely kissed me anything but chaste when he was looking or around. Thoroughly breathless and kiss drunk, he released me, his face impish and smug.

"Yes, it's your birthday and people would notice if you weren't there, especially if we both weren't there."

I frowned at his logic as he handed me my helmet. I got behind Jasper, arms tight around his waist, much like running. Putting the motorcycle in reverse, we sped off to school.

Alice was waiting for us as we pulled into the parking lot of the school, Edward was there too, but still in the car. We weren't amicable, I guess it was too much to hope to have him be nice one day of the year. Alice ambushed us the moment we parked, I had barely taken off my helmet when she almost tackled me with a hug.

"Happy birthday Lettie!"

I smiled and hugged the pixie as tight as I could muster. She then released me to get off the bike. Jasper held out a hand for my helmet, handing it to him Alice procured a bright purple present.

"Alice you didn't need to get me anything." I said accepting the present.

"I wanted to."

I looked at the box and then I looked at Jasper.

"Is this something I should open now?"

I knew full well what could possibly be in here, and as her face morphed to a Cheshire cat grin, I felt my face flush.

"Maybe wait till you get home on this one."

"You're going to be the death of me pixie," Jasper said voice thick.

I could tell he was just as curious as I was what was in the box.

"I'm innocent!"

"Not entirely with the things you give me." I retorted.

She just smiled. I remembered my camera, I took it out and Alice promptly snatched it and motioned for Jasper and I to stand next to one another. Jasper rolled his eyes but agreed. He placed a hand around my waist possessively pulling me close, I wrapped my arms around him and we both smiled for the camera. A few clicks later and I grabbed the camera from her.

"Of us?" she asked.

I nodded. Jasper posed with Alice and then he took one of Alice kissing my cheek. We were all having fun when Jasper looked towards the entrance of the school's parking lot.

"Bella?" I asked.

He nodded, He handed my camera back and we got our things.

"See you in class!" Alice a called.

Jasper and I walked hand and hand down towards the school.

"You're still comin' over after school right?"

"Wouldn't miss it."

He smiled. The plan was to go over to the Cullen home after school, I had already cleared it with my dad the night before. As we went into class, no one bothered to stare at us, as we were old news. I was pretty happy that we had a majority of our classes together now, if I was not with Jasper, I had a class with Alice. I was thankful enough that I had no classes with Edward or Bella for the most part. As the day progressed I thought about the summer and how awesome it had been. I spent a lot of time with Jasper and a lot of time on the reservation. I had gotten a few texts from my friends on the reservation wishing me a happy birthday – including one Jake, my best friends. We had been friends since pretty much diapers, and he and Jasper got along very well. Especially since they were both car buffs.

I had also spent a lot of time doing odd jobs, I babysat Angela's brothers for her, or went shopping for some things for some of the people on the rez. It was productive and I was happy that Jasper was ok with me spending time outside of the supernatural world. Edward seemed to have a large issue with Bella going to the reservation. Something that hadn't gone unnoticed.

Before long it was lunch time and we sat at our usual table. We usually sat with Alice and on occasion Edward and Bella joined us on the southern end of the table. Rose and Emmett had graduated so Alice and Edward didn't seem so scary. Jasper was hit and miss, although most of the time was friendly and chatty. Mike and Jessica (who were in an awkward post-break up friendship phase), Angela and Ben (super cute couple) Eric, Conner, and even Lauren all sat on the other end of the table. On the few days of the year when I was sunny, they seemed more inclined to have us join their group.

The afternoon flew by and before long it was the end school. While I was very happy to be going to the Cullen home - a place I had considered my second home – I couldn't help the feeling of dread that settled in my stomach.

"You ok darlin'?" Jasper asked.

I shook my head.

"I've got a bad feeling about tonight," I said softly.

Jasper's gaze softened as he leaned against the bike, pulling me so I stood between his legs his arms wrapped around me.

"What's got you worried?"

"My sister's clumsiness," I admitted.

He chuckled.

"She is notoriously clumsy,"

"I don't want that effecting any of you," I said pointedly.

"She hardly bothers me at all so long as you're with me. You seem to snuff out the other scents." Jasper admitted.

He had told me that before but the worry still gnawed at me. He tapped my butt with his hand to get my attention, I mocked glared at him and he just grinned.

"Don't worry so much, you'll give yourself wrinkles,"

I snorted.

"Isabella's the one who has the aging complex not me." I retorted.

Jasper grinned and handed me my helmet, I slid it on and clambered onto the back of the bike holding onto Jasper tight. At least temporarily - my worries were blown away by the wind as we rode off towards the house.
