Bonus – Mistake
For as wet and rainy as Forks was, he couldn't deny the beauty. The lush green grass, the luscious scents both human and nature infused alike – he couldn't blame his old for settling here. The constant cloud coverage gave him the ability to blend almost seamlessly with the humans. Humans were interesting creatures, perhaps none more so than his current assignment. Glancing down several miles down the ravine at the old house, she was probably the most interesting human he'd come across in a long while. She was pretty – he couldn't deny that – short, petite and curvy in the right places. He took a sidelong glance at his own partner, and grinned to himself – couldn't blame him at all. Her eyes held a certain sadness to them though, he had seen it the night they met – a brokenness.
"She doing okay?"
He looked up as his partner leaned into his shoulder, he smiled and squeezed her hand.
"She hurts," he murmured.
"I would too, being apart from him from too long would hurt," she agreed.
He then stood facing away from the house to the empty clearing near them, a second later another of their kind stood several feet away. She was average height for a female, but still held all the feline cat and grace. Her hair wild and bright red and sparkling red eyes made her looks especially unsettling. She peered at the pair, glancing between the two and then her sight unfocused behind them to the house.
"Haven't seen you around here before," she purred.
The man shrugged.
"Relatively new to the area," He said nonchalantly.
"Yet you seem to constantly be in my way," the red-head said without preamble.
"Maybe you need a new hobby." He countered.
She hissed slightly, he smiled, tightly but politely.
"I'll give you a friendly warning. You should back off now,"
"Oh and why is that?"
"You run the risk of pissing someone off," the man said simply.
"Who you?" the red-head taunted.
The man shook his head.
"Oh no, not me. I know you stalk the humans down below. My suggestion to you, find someone else to stalk."
"They took someone from me, I'm merely returning the favor."
"It won't end the way you want," The man said again.
"Says who? What do you know…?" the red-head hissed.
The man stepped forward, looking at her, all pre-tense of jovial joking put aside.
"I know shit."
