Inspired by The Fake Redhead's Writing Prompt:
"Hey, how's the meeting?"
"I want to stab everyone."
"Don't get blood on your dress, we have a dinner reservation at seven."
"Love you for enabling me."
A/N: This is my first Supernatural drabble. I'm trying to figure out my niche.
Sam's head was bowed over his laptop, his long hair gently caressing his jaw. His eyes roved over the article on the screen. Muttering to himself, he furiously scribbled a symbol on the page beside him. Sam squinted at the symbol, tilting it one way and then the other.
All of a sudden, his phone rang which startled him out of his reverie. He glanced at the screen quickly and picked it up.
"Hey, how's the meeting, Gabe?"
"I want to stab everyone."
"You got the info?"
"Yup. Easy as pie."
"Okay, don't get blood on your clothes though, we've got a dinner reservation at seven."
"Love you for enabling me, Beanpole."
There was a loud shriek of terror, then sounds of slashing and ripping. Sam held the phone away from his ear as the screams grew louder, nibbling on his lip and patiently waiting for Gabriel to finish killing the vampires he had been meeting.
"You there, Gabe?"
"Yup. You want me to head back now?"
"No, I'm sending you a picture. I want you to…"
"Sorry, too late! I'm here!"
Sam whirled around and found Gabriel sprawled like a starfish on his bed. His grin stretched from ear to ear, his eyes glinting mischievously. Sam's heart pounded in his chest as he gaped at the archangel on his bed.
"Gabe!"
"Sorry, Sam, you were too slow."
"Is that… blood?"
"Um.. yes?"
"You're not supposed to answer the question with a tone like that."
"Well, then yes. It is blood."
"I TOLD you not to get blood on your clothes! It's rude to show up at a restaurant covered in blood. Take a quick shower!"
"Why don't you join me, Sammy?"
"No! We'll be late. Go!"
"Hmph. Don't have to be a stick-in-the-mud, you know…"
Sam rolled his eyes and shoved Gabe towards the bathroom. It was Date Night, after all. He wanted to have a nice, romantic dinner with his boyfriend without people narrowing their eyes at them with suspicion.
Their last date had gone off the rails when a Wendigo, of all creatures, attacked them while they were hiking in the woods. The date before that had them running around the town to defend it from an Oni. Sam had decided on a restaurant this time, assuming it would be safe. Later on, he would realise how wrong he was.
The two walked into the upscale restaurant; Sam handed a credit card to the maître d'hôtel and said, "Yeah, I have a reservation for two under Harvey Mandel."
The man led them to their seats, introduced another waiter to them, and left in a hurry.
"How much do you wanna bet we'll find trouble here, Sam?"
"Oh, stop it. I want a nice, relaxing evening for once!"
"Don't look now… but I'm pretty sure a vampire just walked in."
"Is he hurting anyone? Does he look like he's here to hunt?"
"Well, considering he just licked his lips while staring at that old woman over there… I don't know if he's horny or hungry."
"Ugh. Go tell him to leave, Gabe."
Gabriel stood up and carelessly strolled up to the vampire. He murmured something under his breath but it didn't have the result Sam wanted. The vampire's fangs elongated as he grabbed Gabriel by his throat and lifted him clear off his feet. Before Sam could get up, Gabriel hissed something at the vampire which made him drop Gabriel like a sack of potatoes. He stumbled back, avoiding Gabriel's touch and rushed out of the restaurant.
"Should we go after him, Sam?"
"Unfortunately, yes."
1 hour later
"Another date night spent tackling monsters. God, I just want one night alone with you! Is that too much to ask for? I mean, we spend all our time hunting things that I can't really remember the last time it was just us having some quality time together, you know?!"
"Sammy, hey, first of all.. I'm Gabriel. Second, it's us. Hunters don't have normal dates! In fact, I LOVE hunting with you! You get all furious and your face turns red and you look so hot! It should be creepy, but it's not. You look really fuckable. You're not supposed to look this hot with blood on your face. And there is STILL blood on your face. You haven't wiped it off properly…"
Sam stepped closer to Gabriel with a wide grin on his face, the dead vampire's blood still smudged on his cheek. Despite not needing oxygen to survive, Gabriel's breath caught in his chest at the look in Sam's eye.
Oh, I love this man, Gabriel thought as Sam pulled him up into a fierce kiss.
Maybe they could have their next date in their motel room instead, Sam thought as he dragged Gabe towards the bed.
