CHAPTER ONE:
ARRIVAL
Percy was falling.
Well… to be honest, he wasn't exactly startled that he was falling, technically speaking though, waking up in a lava flow while staring down the throat of an infernal demon-esque monster was infinitely more terrifying than just free falling from the sky.
… Then again demigod dreams were as strange as the circumstances that brought them.
A Raven flying at full speed met its untimely death by smacking into his face, covering said face with blood (some of it his), feathers and a mouthful of beak.
A sense of unease crawled up his spine… "Okay… this hasn't happened in a dream before"
He pinched himself.
He spoke out loud this time.
"WHY THE FUCK AM I FALLING THROUGH THE FUCKING SKY?!"
His mind raced… The last thing that he remembered was looking into electric blue eyes as they shared what could possibly be their last kiss just as they… his comrades (and daresay family) charged into the final battle on Olympus.
His ADHD mind processed his tumultuous thought while simultaneously scanning the quickly approaching ground for ways to hit the ground at speeds that would increase his chances of not dying.
A pattern started to form in his mind.
Then darkness overtook him.
…
…
…
His eyes snapped open and he lurched forward and emptied the contents of his stomach.
'That fucking sucked' was the first thing that came to his mind.
He dry heaved on what he noted were marble floors… marble floor with moving stars and asteroids floating in them.
He heard someone scream his name in anguish 'Annabeth' … he noted idly before his instincts told him to roll right…
And roll right he did, and barely milliseconds a somewhat familiar celestial bronze and mortal steel blade swooshed past where his head had been.
He rolled away a few more feet (for good measure) and quickly stood on his feet.
He stared into the familiar gold orbs of Kronos in the body of Luke Castellan stared at him in contempt and he felt a sizzling sensation go off in the back of his skull.
He felt his brain turn to mush as he tried to process what the actual fuck was going on while getting into a ready stance and mentally formulating a battle plan at the same time, last he checked Thalia had defeated this creepy Titan great grandfather of his two years ago.
He couldn't forget it in a hurry as immediately after the battle he and said daughter of Zeus decided to stop being stubborn weirdos and admit (in embarrassing detail for both of them) that they were head over heels in love with each other.
Easily one of the top five moments of his life… maybe top three.
… Yeah, that and it was one of the most terrible divine wars to take place in millennia.
That too.
His lips curled into a frown on his face.
So why was the titan lord glaring at him like a mortal enemy… wasn't that honour reserved for Thalia…
Well he and Thalia were close (okay more than close) so at least the glare was explainable.
But still…
"Do you fancy that a sea spawn such as yourself powerful enough to last in a fight against the king of the Titans himself" came the ancient rumble of the crooked one from Luke's lips.
Percy raised a brow at the Titan possessed half blood.
'Last I checked that insult was reserved for Clarisse… great, more shocking bullshit to process later'
"That…" he shifted on the balls of his feet "… was one of the most corniest villain one liners I have ever had the fucking displeasure of having to listen to"
He heard someone stifle a giggle and he saw Annabeth walk up to him via the corner of his eyes.
"You had me scared for a moment there seaweed brain" She muttered, relief evident in her voice.
'The heck did she just call me?'
He bit his tongue and refrained from creating an aura of awkwardness around them with the next slew of words that would have likely flown out of his mouth.
Awkwardness was bad for battles.
He took a deep breath… and moved left.
The Titan/Demigod swung his blade (it flickered between sword and scythe as the blade sailed through the air) at the incoming half blood…
… and slashed air as in a movement too fast for most eyes to process, Percy changed directions and clocked Luke/Kronos (Lukonos? Kronuke?) on the right side of his head with a wide haymaker…
The Titan went flying, a trip that was cut short as he crashed (with a painful crack echoing through the hall) into a throne of sorts…
Oh, he was in the Olympian throne room… but why did it look so… diminished?
He mentally shook away idle thoughts and channeled his attention (or sixty percent of it at least) into the already begun fight.
Kronuke stood up steadily from the marble floor of the throne room and sent the half blood a baleful glare, but the effectiveness of the glare was dulled by the awful looking mixture of blood and ichor that steadily flowed from his nose and dripped from his ear in short interval.
The resurrecting Titan lord heaved and more blood and ichor splattered out of his mouth making him wince as he gave the marble floors an odd paint job.
"A thousand curses upon this pathetic mortal frame!" Kronos roared and the blood vessels in Luke's eyes ruptured at the chaotic energy blasted out from his person at the Titan lord's outburst, cracking the marble floor of the throne room in its entirety and making the half bloods fall flat on their bottoms.
Or in Percy's case, his face.
His survival instinct automatically kicked in and he rolled out of the way to avoid being impaled by Backbiter. His attempt to continue rolling were cut short as a kick to his ribs sent him on a flight of his own which saw him essentially pile drive himself right on the seat of one of the thrones.
He felt his pulse quicken as a surge of energy ripple through him on contact with the throne, the new found strength serving as a cushion for his neck which should have been snapped as his head struck the chair.
His hair stood and crackled with red electricity making him realize which throne he had landed on as the familiar energy of warfare filled every cell of his being reminding him of his father's presence as he and his siblings fought alongside their father to fell a certain Primordial.
The nostalgia ended as soon as it began and he bull rushed the Titan, slamming him into a throne which blasted both of them with lightning sending them flying straight into the hearth that burned in the centre of the throne room.
Kronuke had taken the brunt of the blast and in his attempt to shake off the ringing in his ears found himself being suplexed into the fiery hot coal in the hearth… multiple times before he managed to fling the half blood with enough force to divide one of the marble columns on impact.
Despite being slightly disoriented, the burning Titan/Demigod stepped out of the hearth and then promptly doubled over as he felt something inside him shatter and explode, incinerating the body of Luke Castellan and bathing the top of Mount Olympus with a harsh golden light.
…
…
…
Percy pulled himself out of the rubble and immediately took note of the fact that Annabeth and… Grover? (It baffled him slightly how he managed to miss the presence of the Satyr) had gone pale in what could only be described as sheer terror.
His eyes flit across the room… Oh… So that's what they were terrified off? Not that he could blame them though.
The Crooked one did after all have a face that could make the weak stomached have to choose between hurling in horror or tainting their underwear in terror.
'Well… things are about to get shitty for sure'
The half blood lifted a large chunk of marble… and promptly hurled it at the Titan.
Said Titan waved his hand in a lazy circle and the chunk of marble disintegrated into fine powder.
Well… more accurately, it aged into fine powder.
Percy groaned at the sheer unfairness of it all.
He put some distance between himself and the rubble which he emerged from and bull rushed the Titan again.
The Crooked One sneered and snapped his fingers making the half blood slow down enough to make it look like he was running through molasses.
Kronos was toying with him… and that alone was criteria enough to piss him off.
The Titan began to approach the demigod and on the first step, the ground around him practically detonated sending the King of the Titan tumbling towards the edges of the Mountain where he landed in an undignified heap and breaking the time spell around Percy.
The floor around Kronos detonated again sending him careening right of the top of Mount Olympus.
…
His eyes craned to the right… Back biter spun slowly in the fire like a weapon in a holographic display case.
His legs took him there before his brain could actually process what was going on around him… If this weapon could kill a Primordial (even though not permanently), he could guess what it could do to a Titan, Titan king or not.
And Kronos simply forgot about it just to toy with lil ole him?
A feral Grin split his face.
.
.
.
Kronos hit the asphalt at full speed which had the nasty effect of flattening the swathes of monsters swarming the base of Mount Olympus with a five hundred metre radius.
The Titan rose and grew into a more befitting size of a celestial entity…
… and promptly ate dirt once more as two hundred pounds of demigod landed on his chest at terminal velocity.
The Titan lord growled internally, even now as the moments ticked by he could feel himself grow more powerful as eons of scattered energy coalesced and concentrated in his very being giving him access to more and more of his previous power.
Yet… something about the sea spawn irked him to no end…
Something told him that as this conflict stretched on, the son of Poseidon seemed to grow in strength as well.
There was the problem of that red aura around him as well, it seemed to grow more intense the longer their struggle went on and the demigod began to look less… mortal.
The Titan sidestepped the half bloods strike and golden eyes widened in shock as backbiter was swung in his previously occupied position with enough force to collapse the building that stood in that direction.
When did the brat pick up Backbiter.
He felt something run up his gut and faster than he could react, he felt himself get disemboweled.
.
.
.
From the edges of his consciousness, Percy could tell that an Olympian or two had entered the vicinity, but his bloodlust covered his vision in a red haze and refused to let him set his eyes on anything other than the immortal in front of him.
With a grunt, he pulled Backbiter from Kronos' gut and leaped upwards again, his two hands gripped the shaft of the scythe firmly and he swung, piercing the gargantuan collarbone in front of him and eliciting another bellow of pain from the bleeding Titan.
Before he could move, he felt himself get launched downwards as he was swatted away like a fly by the colossal hands of the Titan lord.
Backbiter steamed and changed shape in his hands as he hurtled towards the boiling asphalt and mere feet away from hitting the ground, Backbiter finished its transformation from scythe to bladed chain.
The half blood swung the chain at the nearest body part – The left ankle – and the blades of the chain dug into immortal flesh, saving the half blood from what would most likely have been a messy demise…
… Or an unfortunate occurrence at the very least.
Percy felt his temple throb slightly and the blades on the chain whirred to life and began to rend deeper into the flesh which they had dug in.
Both Titan and Demigod roared, one in pain and the other in effort and with a sickening squelch, the Titans left foot was separated from his body.
The Titan pitched forward…
A multitude of eyes watched with baited breath.
He gripped the Empire State building with both hands to prevent falling and had but a few seconds of reprieve until he felt the horrifyingly familiar sensation of feet pattering on his flesh.
Something small slipped into his loins and a spray of ichor accompanied by a sickening splat of flesh on semi burnt asphalt made a few faces twist in phantom pain.
A single hand went to clutch the position were his manhood once stood, but Percy darted onto the hand and began running up to the Titans face.
The Half blood jumped…
Eyes continued to watch.
Backbiter changed form again, it was a golden spear now…
Breaths continued to be held.
Kronos choked on his own ichor as the spear was driven into his own throat.
Percy tugged his hands with an animalistic snarl and the spear slipped out of the Titans throat showering him with immortal life fluid as he and the weapon fell down to the asphalt.
Kronos fell.
…
…
…
Percy stared at the colossal corpse of the slowly dissolving Titan and felt a violent urge bubble up his throat…
… Oh yeah, he forgot to celebrate his victory properly.
He faced the heavens and a foundation shaking war cry escaped his lips.
The remnants of the Titan army promptly dissolved into chaos as every beast sought to flee the scene as quickly as possible.
Two familiar bodies ambled up to him.
"Holy Hades! That was…"
He turned to face his allies.
"Badass?" He offered.
Grover nodded furiously.
Annabeth looked worried, "Percy… what happened to your eyes?"
He raised an ichor coated brow at her, "What you don't red eyes is sexy enough for the moment?"
AN: Well I wish I could lie and say that I'm sorry for starting a new story amidst my ongoing projects, but frankly, my brain is a cesspool of story ideas both fanfiction and original works, I need to unload my brain or I'll go crazy.
And since Covid19 is doing us all the favour (feel free to notice my sarcasm) of making us inmates in our own houses, I might as well give this a go… Well if this kind of a trend is still fresh in the PJO/HOO fandom then great, if not?
Well… Meh.
Stay Safe guys (and girls… and those inbetween)
