This concludes my sequel. I hope you all enjoyed my story.
It was nighttime and BH6 was searching the city for Hiro. After the disastrous open house, Tadashi and Aunt Cass had returned to their home and discovered the home aid tied up in the utility closet and Hiro missing.
Aunt Cass was back at the café waiting to see if Hiro would return safely. She had already contacted the police and they had started an investigation into finding his missing brother.
Tadashi, Baymax, and their friends had started to search the city for Hiro. For some reason, Baymax couldn't detect his little brother's bio-signal. That didn't mean Hiro was dead though. He could be out of Baymax's scanning range, or underground, and lastly something could be jamming the scan.
"This is all my fault. I promised Hiro he could go to the dedication and the open house and I went back on my word. If I had let him come he wouldn't be missing," Tadashi moaned through the communication link
Honey Lemon rode up on one of her chemical bridges so she could talk to Dashi and Baymax face to face. "Dashi, you can't blame yourself for this."
"Honey Lemon, it is my fault. Ever since Hiro returned, I haven't been there for him in the way he needed me. He didn't need a hero or a robotics expert. He needed me to be his supportive big brother and let him recover in his own time."
On the streets below Go-Go zoomed around checking alleyways. "We don't have time to play the blame game. We need to find Hiro quickly."
Wasabi was driving his car on the other side of town and added, "Go-Go's right. If Obake is out to get Hiro to use as leverage against us then we can't let that happen."
"I wish we figured out this connection earlier. We would have had an epic plan for an extraordinary take down," Fred muttered softly. The others silently agreed with him.
Earlier that day, Obake and his associates had crashed the open house. They had managed to hold their own against Momakase, Noodle-Burger Boy, and Globby. What they failed to do was prevent Obake from stealing their group project.
When Professor Granville confessed to knowing who they were under their suits, she had led the group to her office to explain her connection to Obake. They could all remember her forlorn voice as she spoke.
"Obake was a student of mine twenty years ago. He went by his real name back then, Bob Akens. He had won the open house scholarship with his ideas for creating clean energy.
His genius mind and forward-thinking impressed me enough that I broke the school rules about giving a student unsupervised after-hours access to the lab. Had I been monitoring his project more closely, I would have realized how dangerous it was.
He was creating an energy amplifier. He wanted to create enough energy to supply the country for at least twenty years. He miscalculated and that mistake created an explosion and fire.
I covered for him because it was my fault. I should have been following the rules and expressed how dangerous his pursuit was. After he left school, I managed to find out that he had extensively traveled six months after his accident.
He had returned to his home for about three months then disappeared. No one in the scientific community saw or heard from him. At least, not the respected scientific community. Today, was the first time I had seen him in person."
While she described the strange glow, Tadashi's mind was putting together the puzzle pieces. "Excuse me, Professor Granville, I have some information I want to run by you if that's okay?"
Professor Granville nodded and sat down in her chair to listen.
"When you asked for a name for the new hall, Hiro and I were supposed to come up with it together. I only gave you my name. Hiro wanted to name it Akens after your student.
I didn't look too deeply. I just connected the last name Akens to an old article of the school's digital newspaper. It just briefly mentioned the names of the people involved in the incident.
Because of that incident, I didn't think it would be appropriate to use that last name for the hall. Hiro was extremely upset about that."
"I'm sure he was. So why did he settle on the name Akens?" the professor asked cautiously.
"He said he found it in the list of the alumni. The thing is, you said the student left so he couldn't have been in the alumni. More importantly, he chose that name because it was the last name of his best friend from his physical therapy chat room."
Baymax lit up his stomach as he showed the video of Hiro's first meeting with Trina Akens. He paused and zoomed in on the girl. "While she did not disclose what happened that required her to have physical therapy sessions for the rest of her life, she hinted that it was because of an accident."
Tadashi pointed at the girl and asked if there was any resemblance to Obake. Professor Granville looked a bit closer and then she whispered, "Andrea Dell."
"Professor Granville, who is Andrea Dell?" Honey Lemon asked. She looked at the frozen video and said to Tadashi, "I thought you said her name was Trina Akens."
Professor Granville interrupted Tadashi with her explanation. "This girl looks like one of my old students. Andrea Dell was a foreign exchange student from Canada who attended SFIT at the same time as Akens.
She was studying both botany and biomechanics while she was here. She had cutting edge ideas of how to use both together. She believed that with the right plants, not only could she improve the mechanical nature of biological processes, she truly believed she could find a way to help people in traumatic events restore their bodies to the point before the event."
Go-Go popped her gum before voicing her thoughts. "Let me guess, she was also a bit reckless when it came to her research?" Professor Granville nodded explaining she was also impatient at times.
"Whoa, are you saying Obake and this woman got involved and had a child together? Freaky!" Fred exclaimed.
"It would be the most logical answer considering this Trina is nearly her identical twin save for her eyes which match her father's perfectly." She was trembling a little as she added something.
"I do not know why Obake stole your group project or why his daughter has inserted herself in your brother's life Mr. Hamada, but whatever the reason, I fear it is not for something good."
In the present, Baymax spoke up. "Everyone, my scans are detecting low amounts of energy, extreme fatigue, and overall a general lack of focus. You all need to get some rest."
Tadashi wanted to protest, but he knew Baymax was right. He was barely clinging to the robot's back with how weak he felt. "Everyone go home and get some rest. We'll continue the search tomorrow if Hiro hasn't come back by then."
After a good night's rest, Tadashi was ready to continue the search. Hiro had not returned and Aunt Cass was stress eating everything in the café. "This is all my fault. I should have taken Hiro's feelings more seriously. All my henpecking did was drive him away from us," she cried at the counter of the empty cafe.
Baymax gave her a warm hug. "Your stress levels are very high Aunt Cass. I understand the severity of the problem. If you don't bring those levels down soon you most likely will need to be taken to the hospital due to stress-related blood pressure issues."
Aunt Cass pushed herself out of the hug. "I don't know if it's possible for me to calm down at this point! I haven't been the best guardian to Hiro for the past several months. Heck, I've never been a good enough guardian because he's smarter than me!"
Tadashi stepped in and gave his aunt a hug too calming her down. They held each other tightly for several minutes before letting go of each other. "We can't keep holding onto our past actions. We need to be in the present. I'm going to continue searching for Hiro. I promise I'll bring him home no matter what."
"Be careful, please. I don't want to lose you too."
Tadashi nodded as he gestured for Baymax to follow him out to the garage. Putting on their armor, they jetted to the sky to continue their search. "Can you scan for Hiro again Baymax?"
"I have already tried and his bio-signs have not reappeared. Perhaps a search of Hiro's journal and his computer would help us?"
Tadashi sighed unhappily. He had found Hiro's new hiding spot for his journal and read through it again. The entries tore at his heart when he read about how angry and frustrated his brother had been at him.
There was nothing in it that could help locate him so he searched Hiro's computer. None of Hiro's chatroom friends knew where he would have gone or the location of Cyborg-Girl/Trina Akens home.
There was nothing in his search history about looking up maps to a place. The only place he thought the information might be was in Hiro's email account. The problem was Hiro had encrypted every email he sent or received.
Unless Tadashi could figure out the encryption key, those emails would remain unreadable. "The answers to our questions are in his emails Baymax, but I don't know what code Hiro was using to accesses his encrypted files."
Baymax processed this information and stopped his flight, hovering in the air. "Perhaps we should consult a computer coding expert. Do you know of one?"
Tadashi thought hard, but he couldn't think of anyone to help him. Pressing his communicator he asked his team if they knew anyone that could help.
"Sorry, Dashi. I can't think of anyone at SFIT we can trust and none of my art classmates make digital art."
"I've got zip."
"Do you know how many times you would have to sanitize a keyboard after being on a keyboard for hours on end writing code?"
"Maybe this is crazy, maybe you could ask one of Hiro's chatroom friends. He's been talking to him a lot lately. Just because they don't know where he is doesn't mean they can't figure it out."
"Good idea team. Go-Go, Honey Lemon, and Wasabi go back to my garage and see if you can figure out what Obake's endgame is. Fred, keep searching the city for Hiro. Baymax and I, will find a place to land and see if we can get answers."
The robot and his human companion landed on the top of the Krei Building just out of sight of the security camera range. Pulling his tablet out of his pocket, Tadashi accessed the Krei Wi-Fi network. (The password wasn't hard to guess knowing Krei's obsession with himself).
Robotdoctor: Hello everyone. It's HeroP7's brother again. He's still missing, but I think he left a note in his email about where he was going. The problem is it's encrypted and I can't figure out the key. Can you help?"
Brittlebones: Perhaps.
CPS: If your being. Honest to us. About the situation.
Newlungs: You haven't been very good at keeping your promises to HeroP7. Not mention to nosy for your own good.
Robotdoctor: How do I prove I'm telling the truth? That my brother's life is in serious danger?
Brittlebones: Simple, answer a question we propose to you and if it's right, you're who you say and telling the truth.
Robotdoctor: Okay, ask away.
Newlungs: In what order, did you break your promises to your brother?
Robotdoctor: I promised to let him visit SFIT while he recovered so he could see what it was like and I went back on my word. I did the same thing when it came to spending time together or keep my promise about helping him figure out something private to help his recovery.
Instead of letting my brother hang out with me and my friends, I restrained him and lied about it to our aunt. I broke my promise of letting him name the new hall on campus and letting him come to the dedication. Although I broke his trust earlier by reading his journal.
I have been breaking my promise to keep him safe and happy since he came home from the hospital.
Newlungs: Glad to know you're finally being honest. The worst thing a person can do is break their promises. Especially to a family member.
CPS: What is HeroP7's greatest fear?
Robotdoctor: … Losing our brotherly bond. For me to stop loving him and believing in him. I'm his everything and he's everything to me."
CPS: So you can. Look into a person's soul. Family means everything. To people who. Are hurting inside.
Brittlebones: What is HeroP7's greatest dream?
Robotdoctor: To prove himself. Not for the world or the scientific community. But to his family, especially me. Because he wants me to be proud of him.
Brittlebones: Correct. Nothing is a more powerful motivator than the love from your family to push you to new heights. It's nice to know you finally figured that out.
Robotdoctor: Can you help me then? Break the encryption?
Newlungs: First, the code is based on a nanite code from a cartoon show Generator Rex. The key to getting access to emails is Circe.
CPS: Once you bring up the emails you'll find that the sent emails are encrypted in a book language. This language is based on the code found in the Artemis Fowl books. To decrypt, use the keyword, Holly.
Brittlebones: The language for the received email is based on the language of the Diné, (Navajo). The keyword is Nizhoni.
Robotdoctor: Thank you I'll let you know what happens.
Tadashi got out of the chatroom and quickly used the encryption keys to access the email account and get the words to translate into English. Finally, he saw the email that Hiro had sent the day he went missing.
"We've got coordinates Baymax!" Tadashi exclaimed as he hugged his robot creation. Pressing his communicator he contacted the rest of the team. "Guys, I got into Hiro's email and found one stating his last location. Baymax and I are going to go rescue Hiro."
"Should we join you?" Go-Go asked quickly.
"Have you figured out Obake's plan yet?"
"Still figuring out. We have all the pieces and I feel like the answer is staring us in the face, it's just our minds have clicked on it yet."
"Stay there until you figure it out. Fred, go join them. This is very important team. There's a good chance that Baymax and I, will encounter Obake and have to fight. I don't want you to rescue us if we're in trouble. You need to figure out Obake's plan and stop it at all costs understand?"
The rest of the team hesitated for a full minute before agreeing to his wishes.
Satisfied, Baymax and he headed to the coordinates. Both were surprised when they lead to an upscale neighborhood just outside the city limits. "Baymax, can you detect Hiro inside the house?"
Baymax searched the house using infrared heat. "No one is in the house. There are people below it, but I cannot identify who they are."
Tadashi was puzzled by what his companion told him. "Under the house? How can that be?"
He never heard the answer because someone had flown up behind him and knocked him out. Before Baymax could fire his rocket fist, the giant robot was deactivated.
Sometime later, Tadashi came to and found himself chained to a wall. His helmet was gone and he couldn't see Baymax anywhere.
The sound of clapping echoes across the room as the lights turned on, bathing most of the room in light. Thus, revealing he was in Obake's medical lab. Obake was standing five feet away. Next to him was Baymax, whose eyes were glowing red. Standing on Baymax's shoulder was Mini-Max dressed like a supervillain.
"It's nice to officially meet you, Tadashi Hamada. I have to admit the last few times we met I never did give you a proper greeting. My legal name is Bob Akens, but I prefer is you would call me by my nickname Obake."
Tadashi didn't bother struggling against his chains. "What did you to Baymax and where is my brother?"
Obake chuckled. "Oh, I didn't do anything to your robot. Mini-Max is playing a game with his big brother. Isn't that right Mini-Max?"
"Yes, it is! We are the supervillains and you are the hero who must save my master from terrible danger. Ha, ha, ha!"
"My little brother is very imaginative," Baymax stated in a harsh voice.
An angry scowl appeared on Tadashi's face. Those two robots were not brothers by any means! "I repeat, where is my little brother?" This time he tried to lunge at Obake who merely grinned when the college boy was forcefully sent back to the wall where he was chained.
Obake waggled his finger at his foe. "Now, now. There is no need to be rude. Your brother is right here." Stepping aside, he clicked a button on a remote he'd been holding.
The rest of the lights turned on revealing the regeneration tubes. Floating in each artificial amniotic sac was a naked teenager. Inside the sack, a temporary umbilical cord had attached to their belly buttons so they feed off the enriched placenta.
The tube on the right held Trina who had a fresh scar on her chest where her father performed the surgery to insert the specially designed protector/pacemaker. The scar was already starting to heal.
Hiro was inside the tube on the left. The cast had been taken off his leg showing how much it had shrunk and you could make out the area where the break had occurred. His hair had grown completely back to normal in the short time he'd been in there.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO THEM RIGHT NOW?" Tadashi shrieked as loud as he could.
"Me? Nothing whatsoever. No, these regenerative tubes are my late wife's legacy. Not only did they save my daughter's life but they made her stronger than before."
He walked over and placed a hand lovingly over Trina's tube. "Once she emerges she will never have to worry about her heart again. It won't be so weak a fright could scare her to death."
Moving over to Hiro's tube, he caressed it lightly. He disregarded Tadashi's efforts to get free as Baymax kept him restrained so Mini-Max could tighten the chains even more.
"Before you start shouting profanities at me, you should know I didn't force Hiro into this device. He chose to go in all on his own." He smirked at Tadashi as he sardonically informed Tadashi was the one who drove his brother into taking this risk.
The college student growled and didn't retort. Obake was right in this case. "What's your endgame Obake? Planning to kill me and blow up the city trying to save it? How many times do your projects have to blow up in your face before you quit trying to find an answer to the energy crises?"
Obake walked back towards Tadashi. The young man shivered at seeing the cunning smile on the madman's face. He stopped six feet from him and let out a dark chuckle.
"Why would I kill you now when I could have killed you earlier? No, you were brought here to make a choice. Mini-Max, please display live feed."
The miniature robot laughed evilly and projected the live feed in holographic format. A news helicopter was flying close to the old lighthouse, but it didn't look normal anymore.
The entire lighthouse had been converted into a large scale Gar2energy converter. Out in the bay, Globby made himself into a giant net and scooped hundreds of pounds of garbage. He deposited the massive bulk on top of a large conveyer belt that then took the garbage inside the large scale device and then started producing large amounts of energy.
The holographic image zoomed in and it showed his friends fighting against Momakase, Noodle-Burger Boy, and surprisingly, High Voltage, in an attempt to shut down the large machine.
Taking into account everything Obake had stolen, and his obsession with Lenore Shimamoto, Tadashi finally figure out what the man's plan was. "Why would you recreate, The Great Catastrophe, only making it twice as big?! It will wipe out the entire city and this neighborhood as well!"
"I have my methods for keeping my house from collapsing but thank you for the concerns." The villain waved his hand and Mini-Max shut down the projection.
The man now only three feet away from Tadashi. He leaned in close and gave the robot expert a cold look. "I mentioned a choice, didn't I? I'm going to make you chose what or who is more important to you."
He pressed another button on his remote and two clocks appeared. They both have twenty-five minutes on them. He clicked another button and Baymax freed Tadashi from his chains and kept him restrained in a bear hug.
"You have two choices. If you leave now with your robot and work with your team, you most likely will save the city from being blown up, but you would lose your chance to save your brother because the three of us will be gone.
If you stay, you and your robot could fight and defeat me before taking me into custody and saving your brother at the same time. The only problem would the city would be gone for good."
Obake could practically saw the gears in Tadashi's head spinning as the man tried to come up with a way to do both. "Don't think you have the third option of holding my daughter hostage to force me to give up. I've set up a subroutine in both regeneration tubes.
If you try to harm Trina in any way, what you do to her regeneration tube will happen to Hiro's. You can't save your brother and save the city at the same time. Now, make your choice."
Pressing the remote the clocks started counting down. Baymax let Tadashi go, his eyes returned to normal, but he couldn't move. He would only move again once Tadashi made his choice. It was a battle between head and heart.
How do I make a choice like this? Thousands of people will die if I don't figure out a way to stop the creation of a star. Yet, we just got Hiro back a few months ago and I owe him for breaking so many promises to him.
Which one do I sacrifice? If I choose to do nothing everyone loses. I need Baymax to quickly get to the rest of the team.
Tadashi looked at the clocks and saw two minutes had already gone by. He needed to make his choice now. Holding back the tears, he made his choice. "Baymax, let's go. We have a city to save."
"Are you certain Tadashi?" Baymax asked, his voice filled with disquiet. His creator nodded firmly. So Baymax activated his jets and secured Tadashi to his back before taking off, leaving a nice hole in the garage floor and roof.
The price of having a conscious. Never have I been so happy I don't have one anymore. Satisfied, he headed over to the control panel to bring up his home's defenses so he could begin moving tubes to his main lair.
His fingers danced across the keyboard and activated his two layers of protection. The first was an actual force field, created by generating several plasma beams on top of one another. They were designed to absorb kinetic energy to grow stronger.
The second layer of protection was reinforced concrete mix with steel fibers. It could withstand a large explosion. Not a star exploding, but if the force field did its job the power of the explosion would be lessened.
"Mini-Max, if you would be so kind, could you activate the temporary stasis sequence on the regeneration tubes? I'll need to remove them from the wall to bring them down into my main lair."
The little robot puffed out his chest proclaiming he would do it for the sake of villainy. He hovered over to the control panel to start the stasis process when he let out a yelp as a full-size hologram made itself known.
"Hello, Bob."
Obake froze. He had to have imagined that voice. The greeting was repeated and he turned around and clutched his chest. Standing there in full color was a hologram of his late wife, Andrea.
"Della," Obake whispered his wife's nickname. The hologram was dressed in her favorite outfit. A long sleeve green shirt with a tulip in the middle, gray jeggings, and earthy looking sandals.
Her hair was in a French braid with flowers in it that went to the middle of her back. The hologram had her wearing her favorite earrings and necklace, the ones that looked like the caduceus, and her silver wedding ring.
"Obake. I'm glad to see you again, so to speak."
Obake was torn between finding out more about this hologram and destroying it with his bare hands. Noticing the menacing expression on the man's face the hologram quickly explained what was going on.
"I was created by the real Andrea, shortly before the accident that killed her. She did a full-body scan for my image and then downloaded her digital diary and images into my programming, to represent her wishes after death.
I am her living will. Because Andrea knew the risks, she copied my program into her research, which she kept off-site. By creating her regeneration tube you uploaded me. I was designed to activate if the stasis protocol was initiated for mobile transfer."
Why would Andrea program her hologram to appear at that time? She had always pushed the boundaries when it came to the science of medicine and botany. He watched as the hologram walked over to the tube containing Trina and saw it smile.
"She is very beautiful and looks so grown up. I'm thankful my creator's invention saved her life," Holo-Andrea said. Her inflections matched her creator's when she was feeling sad and happy at the same time.
Obake did his best not to get emotional. "Why did Andrea program you for this moment?"
Holo-Andrea looked at Trina for another minute, then looked over at Hiro before replying. "Because she knew with your brain injury, you would not be able to make the appropriate choices, for Trina's medical needs, or the future she wants for herself."
Before he could even think about smashing her projector, Holo-Andrea's eyes flashed blue and Mini-Max hovered in front of her projector with his hands heating up.
It appeared his wife had taken into account his personality and what triggered his temper and made sure her hologram could protect itself from harm.
Holo-Andrea waved her hand and the entire lab faded away and everyone was standing inside a study. A younger looking Andrea sat at her desk with a tropical flower in front of her.
She was sketching the flower, a Frans Hals' Daylily, making sure she was getting every detail right. She looked up from her work when the door flew open and a four year old Trina raced inside.
"Mother!" she shrieked as she jumped into her mother's waiting arms. Andrea lifted her daughter and twirled around enjoying the laughter of her child.
"Did you sneak away from your father again?"
Trina giggled before pointing out it wasn't hard to do when he was focused on his project. She then pointed to the flower asking her mother why she was sketching it.
"This my dear is my favorite flower. The Frans Hals' Daylily is a beautiful flower. See the bicolored petals of red and yellow and the reddish-orange center? It attracts butterflies and hummingbirds."
Again, Trina giggled and asked her mother if that's why it was her favorite. "That's a bonus, my dear. No, this flower has great medicinal purposes. In ancient China, this flower was used to help cure arsenic poisoning and it helps detoxify the body.
It can reduce jaundice, help reduce hemorrhoids, and when you eat it for a few days in a row, it will cure your insomnia. I sometimes put one in your father's drink just to help him get him to sleep for a few days."
Andrea bent down so both of them could smell the flower's alluring scent. Straightening up, she whispered something into her daughter's ears and the child nodded her head in agreement with her mother.
The scene dissolved around the group and they were back in the lab. The whole scene had confused Obake. What had been so important about that day? Why did his wife focus on the flower so intently?
"Daylilies only bloom for one day. They mean enthusiasm in the language of flowers." Holo-Andrea once again stood over Trina's regeneration tube looking at the teenager inside.
Turning around she gave Obake the fiercest and most protective gaze the man had ever seen. "I want you to think hard and try to recall what it was like when you had a conscious. Is moving Trina and her friend before escaping worth the risk you are willing to take with their health?
Is destroying an entire city and forcing your will upon a fourteen year old kid is what Trina wants or is it what you want? Is the life you've chosen to live after my creator's death the life Trina wanted?
Is being on the run for the rest of your life, denying your daughter any chance at a normal life worth it? Do you think the real Andrea would agree with what you're doing now?
All my creator ever wanted was to let Trina choose her path. Since she can't right now because she's healing, you have to make the choice for her. Just be certain it's what she wants."
With a final nod, the hologram disappeared leaving Obake alone in the medical lab, with his head or heart choice to make.
In the bay, BH6 had managed to trap High Voltage inside a rubber sphere, taking them out of the fight.
Honey Lemon and Go-Go focused their intentions on Globby. Meanwhile, Wasabi had managed to push Momakase away from the lighthouse and onto the shore to fight. Fred fought against Noodle-Burger Boy as the former tried to destroy the converted lighthouse.
"Don't have time to mess around with you NBB! If we don't shut down the Gar2energy lighthouse, we all will be fried extra crispy."
"Sounds delicious! I'll get the noodles ready!" the robot spat out noodles from his mouth and they were fried to a crisp by Fred's fire breath.
Noodle-Burger Boy opened his palms ready to use his flames to fight back when a rocket fist struck the robot's back sending him flying in the air. Fred super jumped into the air and used his tail to send the mascot into the seafloor.
From the sky, Tadashi observed everything going on. His helmet showed him that they had fifteen minutes to stop the star from exploding. "Baymax, scan the city to see if there's anything we can use to create an equal shockwave to save it."
"Scanning, Fred's rebuilt Kentucky Kaiju could provide an equal shockwave if it could bounce high enough to create a massive tidal wave."
"Then we need to supercharge it and fast. Team, listen up! We have fourteen minutes to save the city! Forget about the villains and meet up at the Kentucky Kaiju stat!"
Globby was surprised when Honey Lemon shouted out to him they had to go and protect the city from the star he was helping create. "A star? I can't let Felony Carl die or destroy Joe's dinner! Tall girl, wait for me!"
Momakase heard a beep from her earpiece. Kicking Wasabi away, she answered. "What do you want? I'm busy right now."
As Wasabi picked himself off the ground, he saw Momakase was stunned by what Obake was telling her. "Fine, but I want double the amount you promised transferred into my account."
Momakase sheathed her blades. "My fight is no longer with you. I suggest that you go and help your friends. I'll free High Voltage and help them get out of the blast zone."
Knowing time was of the essence, Wasabi didn't question it as he hurried to the docks to meet up with his friends. They had a city to save!
At the docks, Tadashi and Fred were inside the Kentucky Kaiju preparing for the jump. "I added some extra springy robots to the bottom of the Kaiju's feet. That should get us a bit higher. "
Yo Dashi, take a look! Honey Lemon convinced Globby to join us!" Fred pointed out. Indeed, Globby and Honey Lemon were working together to create a mega-size trampoline for the kaiju to jump on.
Meanwhile, Baymax, Wasabi, and Go-Go were getting as many people as they could away from the initial blast zone.
"We need to start jumping if we're going to build up enough momentum to create a tidal wave big enough to save the city. Let's get to it!"
With only eight minutes left, Fred piloted the massive machine and started jumping up and down, going higher with each bounce. They still were not getting the height they needed to create the tidal wave.
"At this rate, we're not going to get high enough in time. We need to supercharge this thing somehow," Tadashi moaned.
"What about hooking up the three prototype batteries we managed to charge before Obake stole our prototype? The extra energy stored in them could give my kaiju the extra bounce we need," Fred suggested.
Tadashi agreed and hurried out of his seat and found the extra batteries. With five minutes remaining on the clock, he hooked up the batteries. The energy levels went through the roof.
The Kentucky Kaiju's next jump was into the atmosphere and cannonballed into the bay at the same time the star ignited. The two opposing forces clashed together and quickly canceled out one another.
The Kentucky Kaiju started to sink once more towards the bottom of the bay so Tadashi and Fred ditched it swimming as fast they could to avoid getting pulled down.
Baymax flew over and picked them up, bringing them back to the dock. While the city shouted their praises for saving everyone, the six heroes were thinking about the one person they didn't.
An hour later, the team managed to finally get away from the media and made their way to Obake's house. From what Tadashi and Baymax said, they were sure that he and the two teenagers were long gone, but hopefully, there would be some clues they could use to track the deranged man.
To their surprise, nothing was protecting the house from intrusion. They walked into the correct garage and were shocked the elevator hadn't been disabled. They took in down to the medical lab.
What they saw surprised them. Trina was out of her tube and resting comfortably in a bed in the surgical suite. The bio-fluid was halfway drained from the tube with Mini-Max on standby to put the boy on a bed.
A hologram of a woman was standing by the regeneration tube Trina had been in before. Inside, the drained tube was Obake. The inside of the tube was filled with a bluish-white mist.
"Is Obake on ice?" Go-Go asked out loud to break the silence.
The hologram looked over at the group of heroes. "Technically, no. My creator's husband is in stasis. She designed the tubes to have that feature if they needed to be moved during a crisis."
Knowing the heroes had a lot of questions Holo-Andrea answered them the best she could.
After her discussion with the man, Obake had come to the decision that he didn't want his daughter to follow in his footsteps. His ambitious and ruthless nature had already caused him to lose his conscious and his wife. He did not want to risk a third time with Trina.
He decided the best option was to make sure he couldn't influence Trina anymore. After safely removing her from the regeneration tube, he had placed himself in stasis with Mini-Max's help.
He had left behind a living will explaining his wish to be taken to the maximum-security prison to pay for his crimes on the condition his daughter was not prosecuted for her part in his plans.
The gaseous mixture in his tube would slowly dissipate over time causing his body to age. By the time it was done, he would be an old man ready to spend the rest of his sentence alone before he died of old age.
The will, also stated, who he wanted to have custody of Trina, instructions for her medical care, any other necessary information. He had even left instructions on how to safely wake up Hiro once he was out of the tube.
"My creator's husband has done great harm over the years. He deserves his punishment. All he wants is for the daughter he loves to be taken care of. I hope you all do the right thing," Holo-Andrea pleaded before deactivating once more leaving BH6 to figure out how to handle this.
Two months later and a lot had changed. Hiro's family had finally all sat down and had a meaningful discussion about what had happened and how they could move forward in his recovery.
Aunt Cass promised to stop being overprotective and treat her nephew normally. She would also discuss matters pertaining to him instead of talking to Tadashi. She also backed off and let Hiro talk to his therapist by himself.
Tadashi started keeping his promises to his brother and included him with all the activities his college friends did. Including, being a reserved superhero. With Hiro's technopathy and specially designed suit, he became a mobile central base with helping locate criminals and directing the team on their missions.
Hiro continued to attend physical therapy. His time in the regeneration tube had only been able to fix his voice and heal his leg enough to start hydrotherapy. He was happy enough with his voice being normal again.
Hiro enjoyed the sessions and still kept daily contact with his physical therapy friends. He had thanked them for helping his brother and they were just happy that Hiro was himself again. They also loved hearing about his activities with Mini-Max, who now was officially good.
In a twisted surprise, Hiro and Trina were able to stay friends. It turned out that Obake had given full custody of Trina over to Professor Granville, believing her to be the only person capable of raising his daughter and correct Trina's bad habit of stealing things.
Trina was taking it one day at a time as she dealt with the changes in her life. Her foster mother promised her spot in next year's freshman class with Hiro. While she missed her father greatly, she knew in her heart he was where he needed to be.
Everyone was looking towards a brighter future. Whatever happened, everyone knew they could handle it as long as they all worked together.
