So I was going over my notes for this story, and what I have written down for Chapter 8 is completely different than what I wrote. I apparently planned to have Danny get shocked by the portal which restores his memories of their real timeline and he would then have to hunt down Desiree and force her to undo the wish; when he was returned to the right time he was supposed to be returned months after Dani had made the wish. Instead you got that ↑. On that note, I'm probably going to keep doing this 'sneak peek' thing. So everyone can look forward to seeing a snippet of the next chapter not too terribly long after the previous one is posted.
*Daniel*
I looked at the street below to find the monstrous cobra was back for a rematch, having not only grown in size, not a lot but a noticeable amount, but sporting two more heads as well. All three heads were armed with a vicious set of fangs, venom dripping from every set. I fired a blast of ectoenergy at the center head. It turned in my direction and lunged, nearly grabbing onto my foot. I flew well out of its reach and fired off another ectoblast, hitting the head that Dani was fighting. The snake hissed and suddenly breathed something in my direction. I dodged the short stream coming from its mouth. A sizzling sound came from behind me and I looked to see the blast starting to eat away at the street. This thing spits acid! We'll have to stay closer to it if we don't want to destroy everything around us. So instead of melting the street we get to die from ghost snake venom. Avoid the fangs and we should be fine. I moved closer to the cobra and sent a blast at its back when I sped between two of the heads and circled around to the left side. I saw a flash of movement out of the corner of my eye and looked over in time to see Dani get slammed by the snake's tail and be sent flying down the street. In my distraction I didn't see the left and center heads lunge toward me. I felt the twin sensation of two sets of fangs pierce my skin. I screamed as the snake's venom was pumped into my veins. Pain surged through every nerve in my body. Darkness lingered on the edge of my mind as the toxin coursed through my body. It felt like my blood was on fire, the pure agony blocking out everything else. When the shadow of unconsciousness loomed over my thoughts it was a welcome blessing.
