Today is my last day in France. I am taking a portkey tonight to Charlie in Romania. The past few days were spent being dragged around to historical sites by Hermione while she lectured us on French history that I'll never remember. We did get to explore the Broceliande Forest and while I didn't find anything for wand cores I did manage to find some impressive oak and beech trees that I collected wood from. Beech is apparently associated with knowledge and study, and it was rather enjoyable to tease Hermione about how that's what her wand really should be made of. It turns out this forest is the forest from the legend of King Arthur. I was kind of disappointed to learn that since the place didn't feel overly magical. Yes there were smaller magical creatures and some magical plants, but I expected more from a place of legend.
