When Lizzie dragged me into a beam of light it felt like every piece of me broke apart and rejoined. When it finished we were in a huge field with a huge building and all of these strange animals were everywhere. It looked so familiar. It just couldn't remember from where. And then it hit me. "We're at that house that you were in front of when you sent me that photo." "Yes we are." Lizzie says. "This is my home. You happy yet." "Yes." I answered weekly. "We'll see about that." Said Lizzie as she dragged me towards the cliff. "And this my way of transportation, so get used to it." I didn't know what she was trying to do. But she grabbed my hand and jumped off. So I did what anyone would do I screamed. As we were about to hit the rocks. There was a struck of lightning and we fell into a void. "I'm the only elf you'll find who can do this." She states proudly. Then she reopens the void and we land in a huge gated in area. "Where are we?" I asked. "We are where you're going to sleep tonight." "What are my parents going to think." "They think your at my house for a sleepover." After she says this we walk inside to find a huge array of people. And all at once yell. "Elizabeth!" And they all run at her for a hug. But she stops them before they could. "I would like you all to meet, the newly found Diane Smith!" They all let out a huge. "Hello Diane!" One of them with short black hair asked Lizzie. "Did you actually put nexus on her?" She responds with. "Of course I did Fitz, I'm introducing her to this world much better than you did." "Sure." Fitz grins. "Keep telling yourself that." The next to him who looked my Lizzie's age said. "So what can she do?" Lizzie turns her head towards me and says. "Show them Diane." So I did it wasn't much. I just frosted my hand over. But everyone gasped at it. One of the boys who had dirty red hair and dimples said. "So she's a Froster have you talked to my mom yet." "No not yet. She just got here Dex. We leaped to Havenfield, and teleported to here." While they were having this casual conversation. Which it probably was. Lizzie knew much more than I thought. One of them, a girl with black hair and beautiful teal eyes said. "But she has blue eyes."
Biana POV:
I guess she didn't realize everyone had blue eyes, except for Sophie. But still she should've realized sooner. It looked like she just figured it out and whispered. "What does that mean." Obviously directed towards me. Why did I have to say stuff out loud. I came up with a really Black Swanish answer. "It just makes it more confusing." She looked at Sophie. "Lizzie what does she mean." "Biana means." She pauses glaring at me. "Your different than we expected." "That sounds familiar." Fitz says from across the room. Sophie glares at him to. "What do you mean 'different'. I'm exactly like everyone here." "Exactly that's what makes you different. We were expecting something more like me. Brown eyes and crazy freaky abilities. But I checked. Your a completely normal elf." She stops to think about something. "So what makes you so special." Diane spat back. Sophie stuck out her hand and Diane let a small. "What." Before she floated up to the top of the house. Diane then yelled very loudly. "WHAT THE H*ll (tried to keep it censored but still sorry for the littler ones) ARE YOU DOING! PUT ME DOWN!" Then Keefe in all his snarkiness yelled. "What's the magic word." She screamed back. "LAST I CHECKED YOU AREN'T THE ONE HOLDING ME IN THE AIR! NOW PLEASE LET ME DOWN." "Am I right or am I right." Responds Sophie. "YOUR RIGHT NOW PLEASE LET ME DOWN!" "I don't know should I Keefe." "Maybe a few seconds longer." Responds Keefe. "I don't think she likes it I'm going to let her down now." Says Sophie as she lowers Diane down. "Thank You." Says Diane. "Now never do that again." "I won't ever think of it." Sophie says smiling. "Now were where we. Oh yes. The best way to become apart of this world is to forget everything you've ever learned. If you want to stay a part of this world if you want. But there are many dangers. Or you could go back home. I would leave your life forever. Couple pointers. You can't tell anyone we exist, you can't ever use your ability, and when you turn 25 about you stop physically aging. Your choice." Diane sat there trying figure out what to choose. Then she says. "I choose to—."
Back to Diane
The choice was hard but figured if the aging part was true then I'd have to come hear anyway. And have a crazy late start on this world. So might as well try it now. "I choose to stay in the Lost Cities." This caused a huge wave of yelling shouting. Eventually it quieted down to "congrats" and "you made the right choice." I didn't care for it. I was thinking about my family and friends. So I ask Lizzie. "Lizzie what about my friends and family." Everyone stopped talking at once. "You have to choices on that to. We can make them think you died or make them think you never excised. Both will lead you not to be able to talk to them." I had to think about this too. Neither would affect me. Which was better for them. I had my answer. "I want to die."
Everyone thought the same exact thing when she said this. Why. Why not the other choice. It would be much better for everyone that way. Nobody was going to speak out about it. So I told Diane. "Let's go there is much to do." As I grab her hands and pull out my pathfinder towards the light. We leap away before she can say anything more. I bring us to Havenfield so we can teleport back. Before we jump off she asks. "Why do you have brown eyes." "That's what makes me so special." Was the best response I could come up with. I jump off before she could go any farther. When we land outside her house. She coughs a bit from the air change. "So what now." Instead of answering her right away. I give her a sedative. "Go to your room pack your stuff. Come down say goodbye—." She cuts me off. "Why do I say goodbye it won't do anything." "It'll feel better." I pause before continuing. "Then open the flask, hold your breath for 30 seconds and walk out. Everything else is under control." "Can I say goodbye to anyone else." "If you want to. But you'll have to release the sedative again." "I can do that." I tried to believe her, but I couldn't. "Go in then." She runs in.
Diane: POV:
As I run in I start to second guess myself. Why did it have to come to this. Why, why, why. I slow down and walk through the door. Then sneak upstairs to pack my stuff. I grab some stuff. A small duffle with some of my favorite things. And a bit extra. My phone. Obviously. I wonder if there is any service in the Lost Cities. I'll bring it anyways. A bit of clothing. You never know. About 100 dollars in savings. And some snacks. I pack it up and run into the family room where my Mom, Dad, and little brother are. I look at them all. Especially my brother. He isn't really that young. Thirteen. I wonder if he could handle me being "dead". I guess time will tell. I walk in. I look straight at my brother. "Before any of you say anything. Let me say this. I love you all and I hope you can live on without me." My Dad opens his mouth, but open the flask before he says anything. I hold my breath and walk out. I try to hold my facade but it fall apart when I get to Lizzie. I start to cry on her shoulder. She tries to comfort me very awkwardly. It helps, a bit. She whispers into my ear. "You good."
I nod not having the energy to speak. She whispers again. You want to say goodbye to anyone else." I nod again and let out a shaky. "Yes." She hands me some colorful candy and says. "Eat this it'll help your mood." I start to suck on it. It kept changing flavors in my mouth. She keeps talking. "Don't ask me how it works it just does. I don't understand everything about elves either." Cause that makes me feel better. We start walking. Probably towards Lisa and Abigail's house. I repeat the process in each house. Walking up to them. Saying how much I'll miss them. Then knocking them out. I feel kind of bad. But it's for the best. When we are done we leap to a huge gate. Lizzie knocks on the door. Then says. "I have something to do that's quite urgent. You wait here for Alden or someone I'll be back in an hour or so." She holds up a crystal and leaps away.
Lizzie: POV
I Leaped to Havenfield and teleported back to the forbidden cities. Their I met Damel. "You sure you can do this. It's a lot of work." I ask him. "I can handle it." "I'll try to help you best I can. The story is she was coming back from a sleepover on her bike. Crashed the bike in an alley then bleed out." It made since. Humans died all the time. I just hoped it didn't seem so sudden and suspicious. Like they would find anything. I'm happy when I left my family I choose the completely forget I existed option. I would of been weird having to funerals before I actually die. If I ever die. I wonder how many funerals I will have before I'm really gone. When i came back to reality me a Damel were at Diane's house. We walk in and probe their minds and alter them to their daughter dying. We did it to the three of them. It felt kind of weird doing it. Especially to the kid. He looked about thirteen. Poor him his older sister is about to "die". During the process Damel showed me a couple of techniques to washing. After we were done with that we walked to Diane's and friends houses and do the same process. When we were done I thanked Damel and leaped back to Havenfield then teleported to Everglen. Now this was going to be the fun part. What to do with Diane. I'm sure I could give her to a old tudor from the Black Swan. But I wanted someone I knew. I finally settled someone. I knew this person wouldn't like it but he was the best person for the job. I was going to Tigerans house. Diane is going to stay in the Lost Cities whether she liked it or not.
Diane POV:
When Lizzie showed up she had company. And very happy company at that. She walked over to Fitz whispered something into his ear. She walked over to me. "Diane this is Tigran. Tigran this is Diane. Diane this is hopefully going to be your tutor to help you learn the elven culture." The grumpy guy who I guess is Tigran said. "When So- Lizzie came here to the Lost Cities I was one of her mentors. And since I did such a great job teaching her how to sit in a room alone for about a hour. She thinks I'll be able to teach you elvin culture. Strange right." I noticed the name stutter I didn't pay much attention to it but I but it in the back of my mind. "But Tigran." Lizzie pleaded. "Look at her eyes." He looked at me straight into my face and stepped back." Bu-But how." Tigran stuttered. "I know that's why I need you to teach her. We need to know why. I trust you most with this. The Council doesn't know about my reappearance and her presence." Tigran thinks about this for a moment and says. "What do you need me to teach her."
