We reappeared at the ice castle again and walk up to the door. Tigran knocked. A man this time opened the door. He sees Tigran first. "Hello Tigran nice seeing you here." He looks down. "Oh and you must be Diane. I'm Kessler, Juline's husband. She is waiting for you inside." He turns back to Tigran. They start to talk about the Council or something. When I walk in I find Juline building an ice sculptor. It looked like a Pegasus a unicorn and sparkles had a baby. It was beautiful. "What is it?" I took me a second to realize I said it. Juline turned her head. "It's an alicorn. Or supposed to be. I don't really know what they look like." Unsatisfied I asked another question. "Why are you making it?" She turned her head again. "Lizzie asked me to make it. She lives at an animal rehabilitation farm. She rehabilitated one of the two remaining alicorns on the planet. After they released the alicorns in the wild for safety reasons. Lizzie hasn't seen them much." Being much more satisfied I stopped asking questions. Instead of watching Juline, I tried to make my own object from ice. I started to make a chair. Instead of ice I make slush and it collapses. I try again. It's smaller than before but still study enough to hold me. I sit down very satisfied. I look up see Juline almost done with the five foot tall alicorn made of ice. Juline looks at me satisfied. Then looks at my small chair and frowns. "We have a lot of work to do."
Lizzie POV:
That went much better than I thought. Tigran and Juline both agreed. Now all I have to do is wait for Diane to be ready. It'll definitely take a couple months. All need is to figure out where Diane could stay during this. The Council would find her if she was in the Lost Cities. And she definitely wasn't ready for the Forbidden Cities yet. But what did that leave us with. The Black Swan definitely couldn't make a base yet for her. So I went to Alden. I dig out my impater and hail him. He picks up. "Hey Lizzie what do you need." I guess this is what it was like to have more than one identity. All had was some brown hair dye and green contacts. But guess it was enough. "So I was thinking. What should we do about Diane's sleeping situation?" He thinks for a second. "Come over to Everglen real quick I have something important to show you." I look at him questionly. "Okay." I say cautiously. "Be their in second." I hang up thinking about going or not. I was leaning towards not. But I held up my pathfinder and leaped to Everglen. Once there Alden was standing outside the gates with a bottle of captured light. He grabbed my hands before I could ask any questions. We reappear somewhere I would of never thought. "Welcome to Old Atlantis!"
Diane POV:
Training was. Well how could I say this nicely. Bearable. Juline was a great teacher with a lot of patience. But I'm not exactly good at 'making ice and shit' as Lizzie would say. Other then that. It was great. She helped a bit with the social aspect of being an elf. Saying Tigran would never teach it. After a couple hours of me trying to make something. Juline decided to teach me to destroy preplaced ice. It was easy. She made ice. I melted. Over and over. Then Juline made slush. "Make it into ice." She told me. I tried. And after some struggle it worked. There was a small amount of ice on the ground. I hear clapping behind me. I turn around expecting the triplets or Kesler. But I get Lizzie standing alone and clapping for me. "It's beautiful Diane." "No it's not." I grumble. "Stop being in self denial you made a lot more progress than you think." Instead of arguing I sighed and said. "What do you want." She smiles. "To take you to your first home in the Lost Cities." She seemed way to happy. "Sure." I say sarcastically. "Take me to Wonderland or something." "It'll be my pleasure." She says ginning at Juline. "See you tomorrow." I yell at Juline. She laughs as Lizzie drags me away. When we get outside she holds a up, instead of a pathfinder, a glowing tube of some sort. And we leap away. This time the leap feels like I'm being ripped apart piece by piece and crudely put back together. When we reappear we are in a huge dome that was under water. And all the buildings everywhere were just as beautiful as they were in Eternila. "Wh-Where are we." I stutter. "The remains of Atlantis." Says Lizzie. Your new home. I look around. I can't believe I'm in Atlantis. The Atlantis. "I know this can be a lot to take in but—." I cut her off. "Tigran said the Council destroyed Atlantis." Lizzie looks at me dumbfounded. "Well it's not supposed to exist. The Council cut off the main life support down here and told everyone to get out. A lot of people left. But a bunch also stayed." "Why did they stay." "The Council never destroyed the backup life support. So when everyone would of died they rebuilt a more stable life support and destroyed the main entrance. Now the only way down here is leaping down here with light from unmapped stars. And those are really hard to find soooooo it's the safest spot for you to be." I stare at her now. "So you're saying this city has been sunkin twice." "You could say that. Now do you want the tour or not." She starts to walk away. I guess I didn't have much of a choice. We pass abandon store fronts on our way. A pet shop. Barber shop. A restaurant. We keep walking. "Why don't I just stay in one of these houses?" "No." She says. "There are only two places I would trust keeping you. And none of these are it." We keep walking not skipping a beat. "Why are all these stores abandoned?" She sighs. "Atlantis is a big city. So when a lot of them leave. A lot of them leave. But that also means there are a lot of people left. So when Atlantis called resunk they all moved to the center of the city and made New Atlantis. This is Old Atlantis." She pauses. "You'll being living with some old friends of mine." I keep quiet hoping she'll say anything else. She doesn't. We keep walking. The questions I have for her are bouncing in my head. I want to ask her them. But I knew it wasn't the right time. So I make a compromise with myself I only ask one. "Do you know Sophie Foster?" I blurt out. She stops walking and turns to face me. "Why do you ask?" "Tigran was talking about her during our lesson." She looks at me a second longer and keeps walking. "Well I know of her. She played a big part in the NeverSwan War." Unsatisfied with her answer I say. "Everyone knows who she was. I want to know if you ever met her." She sighs. "Me and her talked once or twice we weren't very good friends though." I could tell she was holding something back but I didn't
probe. Instead we walked in silence me and her with a silent agreement between us. Walking through Old Atlantis.
We kept walking for about another half hour before we got to New Atlantis. It was crowded with people and had much more taken care of buildings. "Wow." I whisper under my breath. It was amazing. How did these elves do this. Everyone was so alive and happy. Wearing bright colors. We walk to the other side of town. She stops at a very tall boring building. "This is it." She says as she looks at me. "I promise you I looks better on the inside." I hope so. It was so bleak and boring compared to everything around it. As we walk I see a man rummaging through some desks. Trying to find something. Lizzie clears her throat. He looks up and smiles. "Lizzie I was wondering when you'd get here. Livvy is waiting for you." On que a woman who I guess is Livvy walks in with beads woven into her hair and covered in glitter. "You must be Diane." I shake her hand awkwardly. "Diane this is Livvy and Quinlin and you'll be staying with them the next few months." I walk over and shake Quinlin's hand just as awkwardly. "You will like it here Diane trust me on that. Okay." She pauses and says. "I know what we need. Mallowmelt." "That's a great idea So- Lizzie." "I'll go get some don't move on me." That stutter Tigran made to. Maybe she has a sister who looks like her who starts with So-. I think about this theory some more. I think I would've heard if she had sister or not by now. I think some more. Maybe Lizzie is a nickname for something that starts with So-. This is plausible. They have some weird names here. I settle on that and add it to the pile of questions I have for Lizzie. As I'm finishing up my thoughts Lizzie walks in caring a huge trey of a gooey substance. Lizzie takes a piece and eats it whole. "There is nothing better that helps tough situations better than mallowmelt." She says with her mouth full. "A very wise person told me that once. Livvy laughs behind me. Lizzie rolls her eyes as she offers everyone a piece of mallowmelt. I cautiously take one and nibble on it. It tastes like the heavens had come together and compounded itself into this tiny piece of food. Lizzie starts laughing. "It's been four years and mallowmelt is still the best food in the world!" I look back to Livvy. "Would you like to see your room?" "Sure." I whisper not sure what else to say. We start to walk up the stairs right behind her. "Sorry but this is a very long walk." I wasn't completely happy about a long awkward walk but I could do that. We start walking. First Quinlin, Livvy, me, and Lizzie. This was going to be interesting
