Janine
I couldn't handle this. It's the very reason why when I found out I was pregnant I wanted an abortion. Things were not right with Abe, we were fine but he was constantly getting threats which gravitated back to me which would have been brought on a helpless child. It's why I left when I found out I was too far alone to have an abortion – I had to leave. I had to leave Abe, I had to leave the state and then I had to leave Rose so no one would know that she was my daughter and in turn find out she was Abe's.
After giving everything we knew over to the police, Abe and I collapsed into the sofa. I wrapped my arms around myself, tucking my legs up and under me. Abe was rubbing his face with his hands before he dragged them through his hair. Abe straightened up and opened his arms for me.
"This is my fault." He didn't wait for me to come to him. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and pulled me close. He kissed the top of my head as I gripped the fabric of his shirt and fought back tears. "I'm going to kill him."
"Janine!" Abe called after me. I stormed through the living room door and was heading towards the front door. Abe grabbed my arm in a tight grip.
"And get yourself arrest? How is that going to help Rose?"
"You heard them boy, Abe!" I snapped at him. "She can die, Abe!" He pulled me to him.
"She'll be fine. Dimitri's with her. He's a good boy – he'll protect her." I shook my head.
"He shouldn't have to. They shouldn't even be gone!" He tightened his hold on me, whispering in my ear, stroking my hair and kissing my head. "We should never had done it. Never had a kid."
"It's like she was planned." He whispered. "But she's the best thing to have happened to me."
"And look where that's gotten her." I mumbled. "She wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for me."
"Alright - enough of this pity party you're throwing yourself." Abe pushed away from me. I stood there, suddenly cold as he walked away. "Our daughter is missing. I think we could use the women I hired as my head of security when she was eighteen."
"Your right." I wiped my hands on the side of my jeans. "Your right." I stood a bit straighter as I went into Abe's office. I pulled out all the files we've been compiling with the detective and spread them out on the table. "We have to do this legally though." I looked up at Abe. He nodded and called the Detectve Smith to come over right away. The Mikhail walked through the door, followed by Pavel.
"Janine?" Pavel looked back and forth between Abe and I shaking his head.
"Not now Pavel, our daughter was kidnapped." Abe waved a hand and came over the table, picking up a folder.
"Daughter?"
"It's been a long month." Mikhail responded taking another folder. Pavel shook his head.

"Does he own any properties where the van was found?" Detective Smith asked looking through the folders later that day. They had found the van that was used in the kidnapping. All finger prints were wiped down on the outside of the van, but inside there was a DNA match found on hair proving that Rose was in that van. They were currently running a trace on the owner of the van, trying to see if the owner had anything to do with Tony.
"He doesn't, no. He doesn't have family at all. His parents died; he was an only child. He had no relationship that lasted more than four months ever, he doesn't have children – it's one of the reasons why I hired him to protect Rose." Adrian snorted.
"He's defiantly doing a great job of that." I glared at him.
"I agreed to allow you to help as long as you keep your comments to yourself." Adrian made a face. Mikhail was making phone calls to everyone that Tony had crossed paths with to see if he contacted them recently, none of them had.
"Is there anything – houses, sheds, anything around the area the van was found?" I asked Smith. He shook his head.
"Nothing in the immediate area. We're looking through security camera's now trying to see the direction the van was drive to before it was abandoned. It looks like they stopped somewhere else, took the kids out and then moved them somewhere." I looked over at Smith.
"And nothing was found in the area?"
"You were there Janine, there was nothing." I settled into a chair behind the desk. Abe was rustling through his pages.
"How is it possible? For someone to literally have nothing in life?" Adrian grumbled. He couldn't find anything, couldn't make sense of everything. He was a smart boy, but he was a child, barley an adult but he was helping us go through and take out anything in the papers that might help us find Rose and Dimitri.
"Maybe we should search again? The place they found the van-"
"We did. There's nothing there. No DNA, no nothing. Even the tires were cleaned. Tony's an ass, but he's not stupid. He was a marine after all." I replied not looking up from the papers I was searching, taking out an old photo of his with a house in the background.
Everyone fell asleep somehow. It has been hours since Rose and Dimitri were taken, almost a day. We spend the whole night searching the files for anything that might be a clue and we were about to go through these and see if any of it was a real clue. Smith had gone to collect the information of where the car had gone a few hours before. I was sitting in a chair, leaning over with my head in my arms asleep when I was jerked awake by a warning buzz.
Abe and Adrian jumped as well and started to look around the room. Adrian started to pat his pockets to find his phone. Abe rolled his eyes and was mumbling something about teenagers and their phones when Adrian's face paled.
"I forgot about this!" He said as he unlocked his phone. "I got Rose a smart watch for her birthday and gave it to her early – since she doesn't like telling anyone when she's having a panic attack, I linked it to my phone so when her heart beat increase to dangerous levels, it notifies me."
"And it's now beeping because-"
"Rose's is having a panic attack. A really bad one." I looked over at Adrian.
"And you forgot about this?" I rolled my eyes and snatched his phone from his hands. "All these smart watches have GPS-"
"I Rose doesn't set the GPS to follow her around. It only reads her location every few hours. It's not exactly reliable."
"No, but at least it's something." I looked through his phone. "Here - it was reading in this location a couple of times before it moves further away. I'll call Smith and see if he can see where the co-ordinates are." I took out my phone and called Smith, telling him to get back to the house and to run a search on the co-ordinates.
"That panic attack she's having – how bad is it?" I looked over at Adrian. He was pale and looked down at his hands before he looked back up at me, meeting my eyes.
"Bad. Mason and I have been keeping track of her heart rate whenever she's having a panic attack so we can roughly tell how bad each one is. The last time we her heart rate was that high, she was taken into hospital."

"Did you know Tony was obsessed with you, Janine?" I was moving papers and pictures around the table with Pavel's help. He had gotten over his shock of me being back here, me having a child with Abe and now that child being kidnapped by someone I hired to protect her. Smith had just walked into the office with his friend – Jones and threw some pictures on the table. Abe picked some up along with me.
"He's been stalking you for a while. How did you find him? To hire him?" I looked through the photos. My eyes widened in shock, I was just glad we managed to force Adrian to go home at the day two mark otherwise he would have blown up and right now - I wouldn't exactly blame him. If I was Abe, I would have blown up at me too.
"He and I were in the same training school together before we went to peruse different things." I started dropping the pictures onto the table. Then, we met up after my fourth move with Rose when he was five. He said he left the marines and was looking for work – It was around the time I realized the only way for Rose to be able to have any sort of life was if I wasn't in it." I took a breath and held it for longer than needed before letting it out and continuing. "I did background checks, I hired people to do background checks and everything was fine!"
"He's just very good at hiding it." Smith sighed. "He's never been convicted of anything or even insinuated. I went to his foster family – they said there was something not right about him. He got obsessed with things too easily but knew boundaries and knew when to stop to not make a scene. He's been playing everyone." I sank down into the chair and ran my hands through my hair roughly.
"So it really is my fault." Smith sighed as Jones picked up some of the photos with buildings. "It's been four days Abe and we have nothing, done nothing!"
"We'll find her." I looked up at him and shook my head. "She'll be fine."
"You heard Adrian. The last time Rose had a panic attack like that, she was in hospital. That was two days ago." Abe wrapped an arm around my shoulders.
"She will be fine." He said in a dead monotoned voice. I looked up at him, there was a fire in his eyes that I have never seen before. He wasn't just angry – he was murderous. I was about to say something when my when my phone rang. I looked at the name that came up. Unknown. I looked towards smith who nodded and took out his phone. His call was answered in seconds.
"I need you to track a call coming from Janine Hathaway's phone." and then he called out my number. As soon as he finished, I answered my phone.
"Hathaway." I answered as calming as I could.
"Put it on speaker – Abe you have to be silent." Smith whispered. I nodded and took the phone from my ear and put it on the table putting on the speaker.
"Ah, Janine! How are you?"
"Tony." I swallowed waving a hand at Abe. Pavel and Mikhail both went towards his, ready to cover his mouth and move him away if he said anything. I looked away from him and just focused my attention on the phone.
"Have I told you recently how attractive your daughter is?" He laughed. "She would have been better if she wasn't that Abe's."
"Keep him talking." Smith mouthed. I nodded.
"You know she's only seventeen." I responded leaning closer to the phone.
"She is legal technically." He laughed again.
"I know what you're thinking, Tony. Either way, rape is illegal the last time I checked."
"Don't worry – she's not fun at the moment." He sighed. "She's behaving now at least. Just lying there, doing nothing."
"What have you done to her?" I demanded. Pavel threw a hand over Abe's face while he and Mikhail tried to restrain him. Abe was struggling.
"Oh, don't worry. She'll be fine. Anyway, we can be together now. You just need to get rid of Abe."
"What are you talking about?" I looked at Smith he made a gesture telling me to keep going. His ear still plasters to his phone. "I hired you to look out for her."
"Yes and then you were supposed to come back and actually stay with us and then Rose started to whine and moan and complain-"
"She was acting like a child so you thought it was right to hurt her." I could see Abe biting his tongue and Pavel and Mikhail calmed a bit and released him.
"Oh she's fine now. She can't feel anything."
"What do you mean?" I looked at Smith. "Tony, what do you mean?" He hung up. I looked at Smith. He held up a finger and then I looked over at Abe.
"What did he mean?" I shook my head.
"We didn't get an exact location – but it's the same location on the app you sent me. CCTV shows the van going that driection."
"What are w
