James caught up with Lily right in front of Dumbledore's office. Lily couldn't figure out the password to enter, as she'd never had to go there before. James however, had gotten in trouble many times and gave the gargoyles the password, "Lemon Sherbert".
The two of them walked in and found Dumbledore waiting for them at his desk.
"Hello Professor", said both James and Lily at the same time
"Hello Mr. Potter, Ms. Evans, have a seat", said Dumbledore, conjuring two chairs with a flick of his wand.
Dumbledore slid multiple sheets of paper across his desk to them. Lily and james both immediately recognized them as patrol schedules. James took them and started tapping them with his wand.
"As Head students, you are in charge of all students and can take points from any house. You will have to organize the patrol schedules. Your common room and bedrooms are behind the tapestry across from the Fat Lady's portrait. Unfortunately for you Ms. Evans, Mr. Potter sent me an owl ahead of time requesting that the password be The Marauders." Lily groaned at this, knowing that James had done this just to annoy her. "You also get to choose what we have for meals. You will go to the kitchens every morning with a list of what you would like for meals. I think Mr. Potter knows the way in."
"Thank you Professor", said Lily, getting up
"One more thing Ms. Evans, you too Mr. Potter."
"Yes Professor Dumbledore?"
"James, I know you are a member of the Order", said Dumbledore, and James's face became serious and stony. "Ms. Evans,the Order of The Phoenix is an organization that fights Voldemort and his Death Eaters. James is a member and if you would like to, you could too, as you are of age"
"Of course Professor"
"As you know, there is a war going on. There are some students here that are children of known Death Eaters and others might actually be Death Eaters already. The main suspects are:..."
"Bellatrix Black, Regulus Black, Avery, Rosier, the Lestrange brothers, Snape, Wilkes, Malfoy, Narcissa Black, and Nott", said James
"Yes"
"Three of my cousins and their best friends", muttered James
"I would like you two as well as the other Marauders, Alice, Mary, and Marlene to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity"
"Yes sir", said James as they stood up and left the office.
Lily's mind and heart were racing. There was an organization fighting Voldemort and she'd just joined? She felt light-headed and wanted to sit down and relax. Suddenly, her legs collapsed underneath her and she fell to the ground.
