Dimitri

Despite everything, I managed to close my eyes and fall asleep. Roza fell asleep on my shoulder a long while ago. I had shrugged off my jacket and draped it over Roza. She looked so peaceful as she slept until she was whimpering with nightmares. I had managed to calm her down before she woke up from them but I was exhausted. I don't think my eyes were closed too long before they were opened by a very load piercing scream.

"Dimitri!" I jerked awake in time to see Roza being picked up and dragged from the room. I lunged for the man that came in for her, I kicked, I punched but the door slammed shut again, leaving me by myself in the cold dark room. My jacket lay degraded on the floor.

I banged my fists against the door harder and harder, until I couldn't feel them anymore. When I pulled them back my knuckles were swollen and bloodied. I yelled after that for a long time until my voice became horse until I eventually slid down the door banging my head against it in defeat. I heard the faint sound of footsteps coming back down the hall, so I pealed myself from the door and floor and stood up, ready to pounce on whoever dear come through that door.

The door opened with a bang. I lunged forward, punched out, kicked as hard as I could, trying to use my height as an advantage. I managed to take one of the guys down but took a kick to the gut and bent over in pain. There was clapping coming from the door.

"Very noble." Tony stood there a grin on his face. I lunged forward but was punched and fell to the ground. "I'm Tony." He went on. Still I didn't say anything, I didn't lunge again either. I slowly got to my feet and stared at him. He laughed and smiled cruelly. "Don't worry. The Brat's alright. Unable to move but alright." I growl and lung for him, grabbing him by the collar and shoving him against the wall.

"What did you do to her?" I yelled, my voice hard and rough. He laughed and shoved me off with the help of his friends. I stood there, silent again waiting for an answer.

"Oh, don't worry about her." He waved his arms. "You know, I never thought of it before, but she is very attractive." It took me everything I had in me to stop myself from jumping on him.

"Have you ever-" He laughed and shook his head.

"Have I ever? What? Had sex with her? No. But now, I'm not sure I won't." I went for him again. This time I managed to get him to the ground before I was dragged off him. "Oh, I think I might enjoy this. If this is how you react – Janine is going to be fun. Leaving me to look after her brat while she worked." I was thrown to the ground and kicked a couple of times. I coughed and spit up blood.

The door slammed shut before I could get up again.

The sat on the floor for some time trying to think. The minutes turned into hours until I lost all concept of time. I didn't know how long it had been since we were taken, since Roza was taken. I walked around the small room, knocking my knuckles against the wall all the way around the room.

That's when I heard it.

A hollow sound among the dense knocked. I knocked again and again, trying to make sure it was really hollow. I kicked that second on the wall and punched until the plaster came loose and I was able to make a small hole. I pushed the remain plaster trying to make a bigger hole until I managed to make an opening big enough.

"Hey!" I ran down the hall in the opposite direction of the voice. I tried to remember the directions I took, I tried to pick out something that I would easily remember but I couldn't. I turned and tried to hid behind a wall, hoping the guy chasing me would think I continued to run and wouldn't look at me, but that didn't happen. He stopped and turned. I dodged some punches, some kicks, my adrenaline running through my veins. I punched back, my cut, bloody sore fists hit flesh, I kicked, trying to knock the guy to his feet. With one more punch, he was down. I wiped the sweat from my brow.

I pat the guy down, trying to find keys and then I went back the same direction I came running down. I knocked on all the doors, tried to open as many doors as I could trying to find Roza. I sucked in a breath and ducked into an open room and slowed my breathing down.

"...worry. She can't move. Tony's going to let us have our way with her when he's done."

"Hopefully that's soon. She's got a great ass!" I closed my eyes, calming myself as the footsteps and chattering quietened. I walked down the hall the guys were coming from until I got to a padlocked room at the end of the hall. I tried all the keys I had and finally, after the last key I used, the lock opened. I took the chain and placed it on the floor before opening the door quietly.

Rose was laying on the bed staring at the ceiling. When the door opened, she moved her head to the side. I caught her eyes and ran towards her. Her pupils were large and her skin ashen. She swallowed. I could see it was an effort and it hurt. I put my hand on her forehead. She was warm, damp and could bearly keep her eyes open.

"Dimitri." I smiled and kissed her forehead.

"It's me. Come on – we have to go."

"I can't feel my legs." She whispered, fresh tears falling from her eyes. "I can't feel my body. I can't feel anything." I cursed under my breath and hooked my arms under her legs and shoulders. "Dimitri!" I fell forward after a solid hand shoved into my shoulder. Rose fell to the side and rolled off the bed, landing on the floor with a thud. I turned and punched one of the guys that were talking about Rose before.

I went down to the ground after something solid hit the corner of my head.

"Dimitri." Rose whispered. She was lying on her front her head turned to the side. Concern was lacing through her brown eyes. I got up, grabbed the object - a baseball bat – that hit me over the head and swung as hard as I could. The guy went down quickly. I dropped the bad – probably not a great idea, but I ran towards Rose, turned her over and picked her up.

"You're bleeding." She whispered. I looked down at her and smiled.

"You're paralyzed. I think you win."

With Rose tightly in my arms, I ran as best I could through the halls. I had to keep stopping to readjust Rose in my arms. I wrapped her arms around my neck and tried to clasp them together to keep them there, but it wasn't working. Eventually I gave up and just carried on.

"I'm sorry." She whispered. I shook my head.

"We're getting out of here." She nodded her head and rested it against my shoulder. "Hold on."

"You're funny." I looked down at Rose as she smiled. Then her eyes widened. "Dimitri! Behind you!" I turned my head to see what she was talking about. Tony was running after us. I tried to run faster. "Dimitri! He has a gun!"

I kicked a door that led out into a garden and tried to run as fast as I could. A loud pop boomed around me. I yelled, dived forward and stayed on top of Rose, trying to protect her.

"Dimitri!"
