There were Death Eaters in the middle of Hogwarts! Death Eaters! The 8 of them whipped out their wands and started firing curses back. James managed to count them while dodging and firing curses at the same time. There were 12 masked Death Eaters that were using spells that James, Sirius, Peter, Remus, Lily, Marlene, Mary, and Alice wouldn't dare use. Sirius sent a Blasting curse that knocked all of their masks off. They were the prime suspects as Death Eaters and now they were revealed. Bellatrix, Narcissa, Regulus, Lucius, Rodolphus, Rabastan, Snape, Barty, MacNair, Avery, Rosier, and Wilkes.
James shot a Body-Bind at both of the Lestrange brothers, and they fell to the floor. Snape hit Mary with Sectumsempra, causing Remus to have to run over and try to heal her while guarding both of them from curses. James and Sirius were dueling their cousins and brothers. Narcissa went down from a Stunning Spell, Bellatrix retaliated with a Killing Curse that barely missed James's head, he ducked just in time.
Soon, Bellatrix, Lucius, and Crouch were the only Death Eaters that weren't unconscious or dead. James and Sirius were doing fine, but they were slowly getting more and more tired from the constant assault from the three Death Eaters. Lily and Remus were still conscious, but they couldn't get up on their feet and couldn't reach their wands. Sirius and James shot a couple of bonebreakers at Crouch and Malfoy, who were thrown backward with both of their arms and legs broken. James and Sirius were very good duelists, but Bellatrix had won the Hogwarts dueling contest every year since she started at Hogwarts. Slowly, she wore down Sirius and James. Behind her, Lucius was crawling for his wand. When he retrieved it, he managed to send a Cruciatus curse at Sirius at the same time Bellatrix sent one at James.
Lily and Remus saw this and yelled, "Protego"
Both Cruciatus and Protecting spells hit James and Sirius at the same time, and they were knocked unconscious instantly. Bellatrix managed to Disapparate with her fellow Death Eaters, even though you weren't supposed to be able to Disapparate on Hogwarts grounds, but this didn't occur to Lily or Remus, who were focusing on staying conscious and not passing out from the pain.
Slowly, Lily and Remus blacked out from the pain.
