Boy was I wrong...
They grew massive claws and snake feet. They lunged at me direction. With confusion and adrenaline filled in my body, I jumped aside and barely got away from their monstrous claws slashing at me. One quickly got back up, and accidentally slashed at the other lady, which now disintegrated into weird, yellow dust. One of the weird snake ladies shouted, "You idiot! You missed the boy but you killed your sister! What a disappointment!"
I decided it was a good time to run, and run I did. When I got out of the school, I saw a forest, and I thought, this will be the perfect place to hide.
So I ran into the forest, until I couldn't hear the noises of the city behind me. I kept on running though, I wanted to make sure these snake ladies never caught me ever again. I didn't know what the school would think of me not being there anymore, will anyone look for me? Probably no one would miss me, no one cared about me, the only person that would ever think of me was Ben. I kept running until, I heard a branch break and turned around to see a beautiful, golden hind. We looked at each other for 30 seconds, until it started running and leaving a trail of bronze hooves. My instincts told me to follow, so I did. After 30 minutes of non-stop running, I decided to stop to get my breath back. I sat down on the ground. Now no one will ever find me. I will never be able to find my way back to the city.
I heard a boy and a girl running through the forest, clearly after the bronze hoof trail made by the deer, talking about something that I couldn't hear. When they heard the rip of my jacket on a branch, they turned towards me like lightning. The boy looked young, but the part that disturbed me was that his dark brown eyes held onto a permanent mountain of sadness. He had short black hair, and was skinny, like he hadn't eaten all week. The girl had a stronger build. She had golden blond hair and stormy blue eyes. She was also older than the boy.
"Who are you?" She steadied her bow at me.
"Uhh, Jason." I responded to the stranger, because I didn't want an arrow in my chest.
The boy with black hair had a confused look. He was going to ask a question, "Jason," But then he looked behind me, "Duck!"
Then everything went dark.
I promise that the chapters after this will be longer, but I just need some more time to extend them without them becoming too long. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I will try to make more soon, Adios!
