p style="text-align: left;"This story is LONG over./p
p style="text-align: left;"It's 2020 and it hasn't been updated since 2015! Crazy to think it was so long ago! I just wanted to come in and say that I've been looking back at all the comments I've gotten on this story and how I handled the criticism. Let me preface by saying that back then, I was like not even thirteen years old. I had seen books I liked on Wattpad do similar "Cliches I Hate" books and I decided to make one of my own and then crosspost it on this site. I was not prepared for the intense immediate backlash it received for violating I guideline that I hadn't even know existed. Of course, I got defensive... but who wouldn't? You're under attack and your first instinct is to dig your heels in and try to fight off the attackers. Look, I'm not saying I was right in how I handled it. I'm not saying I was entirely wrong either. I was just a confused, scared preteen who's first foray into online publishing had gone horribly, horribly wrong. Luckily, the negative comments soon became outweighed by a stream of positive comments who backed me and reassured me that this story was good and had validity in its arguments. I appreciate everyone who supported me and encouraged me. I'm sorry that this story ended the way it did and that I won't be posting any more updates in the foreseeable future. If any of you young PJO lovers read this, I want you to come out with this message; Be Kind. There's another person on the other side of your screen. Let your love for PJO bring you all closer together, not drive you apart. /p
p style="text-align: left;" /p
p style="text-align: left;"And let me just say one last thing: I never said that I hate cliches. I'm a sucker for the great use of a cliche to enhance a story. There are stories where I will read them just because a common trope is present. I read tons of cliched PJO back in the day; enjoyed it, too. Just because I talk about cliches that bothered me doesn't mean that I want to attack you for using them or enjoying them. This story was just me saying my opinion. It was never meant to be some kind of end-all-be-all for what cliches are acceptable or not. I hope that you just enjoy it for the fun, vent story it was meant to be. /p
p style="text-align: left;" /p
p style="text-align: left;"Best of luck to all the young Fanfic writers reading this. May this story be a guide, but not a template. And never, ever lose your love for literature. /p
