Eel Pox had hit Berk and everyone was sick, including Hiccup and his friends. Now they were in the Great Hall, shivering, sneezing and coughing. Zenna was near her parents, who were also sick. Their Zippleback cooed in worry at their riders and their hatchling. Viggo, Gothi and Maria were the only ones not sick.
Hiccup and his friends had gathered most of the ingredients to make the cure but there was on ingredient they still needed, "Someone has to.. achoo... get the Blood Bane Eel." Astrid said shivering.
"I'll go." Hiccup sneezed.
"No son, I'll go." Stoick coughed.
"You two are in no condition to get that eel, which is why I'll get it." Aurora said.
"Aurora, are you sure?" Hiccup asked then let out a sneeze.
"Don't worry, I'll take Melody with me." Aurora reassured before she called, "Melody...!" The respective Death Song came flying over and landed near her, "Melody, I need you to come with me to Eel Island to get a Blood Bane eel to make the cure for this Eel Pox." she said before she turned to Viggo, Shadow, the Night Lights and her friends dragons, "Viggo, you and the other dragons keep an eye on everyone else."
Viggo nodded and the dragons warbled and Aurora mounted Melody. Hiccup handed her the bag with the rest of the ingredients. "I'll be back soon, gang."
"Be careful." Edgar said before sneezing.
"I will." Aurora promised and she and Melody took off to Eel Island.
Soon, the duo made it to Eel Island. Melody flew over a river and they both saw Blood Bane Eels leaping out of the river. Melody licked her lips, ready to eat some. Aurora chuckled, "Now now, Melody. As soon as we get one, you can eat as many as you want but not too many. Remember, Typhommerangs live here too."
Melody nodded and the two of them landed near the river. The Eels were jumping in and out of the water. Easily, Melody snatched one with her mouth and bit into it, killing it. Melody then placed it down beside Aurora. "Good girl..." Aurora cooed.
Aurora puts the eel inside of her bag as Melody feasts on some more eels. As Melody gorges herself, the two don't notice a pair of large eyes watching them from afar.
Back on Berk, the sick people were doing their best to hang in there until Aurora and Melody returned with the cure. Maria's dragons comforted her friends. "We won't be able to stand this Eel Pox much longer. The fever, it makes it hard to think straight…" Stoick groaned and then a delirious Gobber came into view... thinking he was his Aunt Rose
"Yoo-hoo! Where's my little Gobber? Great Auntie Rose wants him to give him a big kiss!" Gobber said in a high-pitched voice, his helmet adorned with flowers. Edgar and Henna both shuddered, backing away from the blacksmith while Stoick kept him from kissing him.
"This.. is disturbing." Hiccup coughed.
. "Let's hope Hiccup and Zenna come back with the cure soon…I do not want to experience delirium…" Edgar muttered, shaking his aching head.
"Same here, love…Same here…" Henna sighed, sneezing again. Pouncer and Ruffrunner nuzzled the two sick parents while Dart cooed at their daughter. Snow and Midnight came and placed their wings around the Fiersome Family to try and warm them up.
"T-Thanks.." Zenna sneezed, earning a coo from the Strike Class dragons.
At Eel Island, Melody had eaten her fill and she was full now. "Come on girl, let's get back to Berk." Aurora said before she mounted her Death Song friend. The pair flew up into the air... until a fireball comes and almost hits Melody if she hadn't dodged it. "Woah! What the-?" Aurora gasped and then she heard the familiar roar... of a Singetail...!
Aurora and Melody looked behind them and saw Krogen and the Dragon Flyers chasing them! "Aw man...!" Aurora whimpered seeing she was greatly outnumbered about thirty versus two! Aurora gripped the bag with the ingredients tightly.
"It was a mistake, coming out here all alone, Aurora.." Krogen hissed. "Now your ours.. get her and capture the Death Song.." The Flyers Singetails roared and flew towards them, "Let's get out of here Melody..!" Aurora whimpered and her Death Song flew away from the Flyers as fast as she could. The Flyers launched fireballs at the do, forcing Melody to dodge them left and right. "Ugh.." Aurora grunted. She looked at the bag and knew she had to get it to Berk, but not this way. She quickly took it off of her bag, "Melody, spit the bag with your amber hurry..!" Aurora called and her Death Song quickly turned and spit the amber onto the bag, covering about 75% of it. Aurora then threw the bag as far as she could in Berk direction, knowing the current would take it there. "There.." Aurora said to herself.
The Flyers continued blasting at the two of them before three of them struck Melody on her wings! "Woah! Melody..!" Melody and Aurora screamed as they both crashed on ground and Aurora was thrown from her saddle and crashed into a tree. Aurora's vision began to go in and out and the last thing she was were the Singetails before she blacked out...
Back on Berk, Viggo was starting to wonder what was taking Aurora so long. "Where is that girl...?" He asked himself. Dart and the Night Lights were outside the Great Hall with him as he sat on the steps. Then Dart spotted something floating in the water near the docks. "What is it, Dart?" Viggo asked. Dart flew off towards the docks and Viggo and her siblings followed her.
When they got to the dock, Viggo saw Dart pulling out an amber covered bag from the water. "Wait... those are the ingredients..!" Viggo gasped. Viggo grabbed the bag by the sash and ran to the other dragons, "Flare, can you melt the amber?" Viggo asked Aurora's Monstrous Nightmare friend. Flare nodded and melt the amber around the bag and Viggo looked inside and gasped in joy seeing the Blood Bane eel inside along with the other ingredients. "She got the last ingredient. I gotta get this to Gothi. Venom!"
Viggo's Triple Stryke came in and Viggo quickly mounted him and flew off to Gothi's place. "Gothi, Aurora got the last ingredient to make the cure."
Gothi smiled and together with Viggo, made the cure for Eel Pox. Viggo and Gothi gave the cure to everyone and everything was back to normal... well almost everything...
"So.. the bag was just floating in Death Song amber in the docks?" Astrid questioned Viggo.
"Yes, but no Aurora or Melody." Viggo stated.
"Well the amber had to come from Melody." Hiccup added. "But if they didn't come with the bad, then where are they..?"
"D-Do you think something bad happened to them..?" Fishlegs said with worry.
"I-I don't no, but we have to check it out. We have to go to Eel Island..." Hiccup said and their dragons backed away from the mention of going near that island.
"Easy Stryka, I know you don't wanna go but we have to check on our friends.." Zenna cooed at her best dragon friend. Stryka warbled, knowing Zenna was right. Hiccup and the others mounted their dragons along with Henna, Edgar and Stoick and they flew off to Eel Island.
When they got there, they found that some of the trees were burnt as well as parts of the ground. "Woah... what happened here..?" Zenna asked.
"Whatever it was, it looked bad." Astrid added, surveying the trees.
"Aurora! Melody..!" Hiccup called. Toothless gave his own call to the Death Song 'Mewody!' but the two got no answer in reply. "This can't be good..."
"Hiccup! We found something..!" his dad's voice came. Hiccup and Toothless flew over and saw what looked like a crash site. There was a large mark in the ground and a small dent in the tree. "Looks like a dragon crashed here.." Fishlegs stated.
"Yep, but where is it now and what made it crash..?" Henna asked.
"Umm... guys... I think I have the answer.." Fishlegs said nervously as he held up some chains... dragons proof chains.. "Dragon Flyers..." Hiccup said grimly.
"Wait... if the Flyers, Aurora and Melody were here then..." Fishlegs said slowly and his and everyone's eye widened with the only scenario as to what happened. "Aurora and Melody were captured by the Flyers..." Zenna replied grimly.
That made everyone worry.
The first thing that Aurora saw when she came to was thick bars in front of her and she felt the cool surface of a cave beneath and around her. "Ugh..." she groaned, going to rub her head, only to see that her wrist was chained! "Wha-?" she looked down and saw that her right ankle was chained to the wall too. "I see you've discovered our welcome gift..." Krogen hissed as he entered the dungeon.
Krogen stood in front of her cell and glared at Aurora, "Where's Melody..?" was the first question out of her mouth. Krogen laughed, "Oh she's fine... just finished actually serving our purpose.." as he said that, Aurora saw the Flyers bringing Melody inside the dungeon. Aurora gasped, seeing wounds on her friend. The Flyers opened her cell and Melody walked in before she curled up around her, weak and sore. Aurora comforted her buddy and rubbed her nose.
"Enjoy your stay here, Aurora. Cause you and your dragon are gonna be here for a while..." Krogen hissed before he and the Flyers exited the dungeon, leaving Melody and Aurora alone. "Melody.. are you alright..?" Aurora asked.
"Ugh... they were brutal..." Melody groaned. "I-I don't think I can feel my wings..." Aurora looked at Melody's wings and saw that they were sprained, no doubt from the crash and it didn't help that the Singetails' fireballs struck them either.
"W-What are we gonna do..?" Melody whimpered. Aurora rubbed her nose, "Don't worry girl, Hiccup and the others will find us..." Aurora gulped nervously, "I hope..."
Hiccup and the others returned to Berk and gathered in the Great Hall, "Alright if Aurora and Melody have been captured by Krogen and the Flyers, we have to find them and rescue them, fast. Before Krogen forces Melody to capture more dragons for them."
"But where would they even take them?" Astrid wondered.
"It would have to be an island where they would stay hidden.." Hiccup said. Shadow, Midnight, Snow and the Night Lights were worried about Aurora and their friend.
Stoick groaned, "It may take us days to figure out where Krogen took them."
"B-But we don't have days, Stoick." Henna fretted.
"Krogen could be doing Thor knows what to the two of them right now.." Edgar added with worry.
"If only we had someway to track Aurora..." Hiccup wondered. Finally, Shadow decided that he had heard enough and flew out of the door! "Shadow! Wait!" Hiccup and the others raced outside to find Shadow flying away, "Looks like Shadow's taking it upon himself to find them." Fishlegs said.
"Then let's join him. Dragon everyone." Astrid stated and the group mounted up and followed the Titan Wing Dramillion.
Two Days Later...
Melody and Aurora were miserable under the capture of Krogen and the Dragon Flyers. Melody was forced to capture more Singetails over the two days while Aurora was forced train them which usually ended in her being blasted with fireballs and pounced on.
In their cell, Aurora and Melody were very weak, having very little to eat and were currently laid up against each other for support both feeling weak and exhausted. Melody and Aurora had several deep wounds on their bodies and Melody had some dragon roots arrows sticking out of her. Whenever she would define an order, one of the Flyers would shoot her, making her roar in pain.
Krogen and two Flyers watched them, "So what do we do with them now?" one Flyer asked.
"The girl has shown us enough about how to go about training the Singetails. We'll dispose of them." Krogen ordered. The two Flyers nodded while Krogen looked at the weakened pair with a smirk.
Soon, Aurora and Melody were carried by the Flyers to remote island and they were just dropped their like garbage. Aurora weakly opened her eyes only to see the Flyers and Krogen flying away before she fell into unconsciousness. Melody also weakly opened her eyes before she uttered out a faint siren call hoping someone or some dragon would hear it before she became unconscious as well.
In the meantime, Hiccup and the others were on Dragon Island, now really worried. They haven't found single sign of Aurora or Melody. "T-There has to be something that we're missing." Hiccup stammered.
"No, Krogen is intelligent, though not as smart as me, but he knows better than to do his business on an island that's very well known." Viggo stated. Shadow cooed in worry for his best friend and Melody.
"We're not giving up, we'll keep searching until we find them.." Astrid stated. Then the group heard a siren call, "What the-? Whose singing..?" Tuffnut asked.
"That's a Death Song's dragon.." Fishlegs indentified.
"Death Song... then that must be..." Zenna gasped.
"MELODY!" Everyone realized. Shadow immediately perked up and bolted towards the sound of the echoing siren call along with the others. The group flew far out to sea and they finally came to a remote island where, "There!" Zenna cried.
The group landed on the beach and Zenna, Henna and Edgar rushed over to Aurora. "Aurora, Aurora, wake up..!" Zenna called to her.
Hiccup and Fishlegs gasped at the sight of the injuries on Aurora and Melody, "Oh my gods..." Hiccup whispered.
Fishlegs took out three dragon root arrows from Melody's body, "What did Krogen do to them...?" Fishlegs added. Toothless and the other dragons tried to wake up Melody, but the female Death Song wouldn't wake up. They were both still breathing which was a good sign, but Zenna knew they wouldn't last long in this state. "We have to get them back to Berk, Now!"
"But Zenna, we can't all carry Melody, she's too big..!" Snotlout exclaimed. Then the group heard two more Death Song calls and saw Singer and Harmony flying towards them, "Singer, Harmony!" Hiccup called. The two Death Songs landed near their fallen sister and cooed at her.
"Come on, we have to get them back..." Viggo stated. Singer and Harmony carried Melody while Henna carried Aurora on Serpentine.
As fast as their dragons could fly, the group flew off to Berk and got there in no time. Immediately, Zenna got Gothi and the two started treating Aurora and Melody's injuries together.
After a few hours, Aurora was laying in bed with Shadow curled around her while Melody was outside the house with Singer and Harmony nearby. Now all Zenna, Hiccup, their friends and all of Berk; dragons and all could do... was wait...
A week later...
Zenna and Stryka were sleeping in their room when they both heard a small groan coming from Aurora. Zenna gasped as she got up and went over to her as Aurora opened her eyes.. "Z-Zenna...?" Aurora gasped.
Zenna smiled, "Aurora.. easy..." she cooed.
Aurora blinked and saw that she was in her bedroom in Zenna's hut. "H-How'd I get here..?"
"Shadow heard Melody's call and we came rushing over.."
"M-Melody... h-how is she...?"
"She's resting outside with Singer and Harmony.." Aurora nodded and saw that she had multiple bandages on her stomach, arms, legs, wings and her head. "You and Melody were badly injured, but you'll both recover."
Aurora nodded again before her stomach growled, "Ugh... got anything to eat..?" she groaned. Zenna nodded and she went downstairs and got her parents. Henna and Edgar were relived to hear Aurora was awake and Henna quickly made Aurora some soup.
Then the three of them went back upstairs and found Shadow nuzzling his best friend, "Here Aurora.." Henna said, placing the soup in her lap.
Aurora nodded but when she tried to take the spoon, "Ow...!" she hissed in pain.
"Yeah, you're gonna be sore for a while.." Zenna winced in sympathy for her. So Henna had to feed Aurora the soup and when she was done she felt tired again. "Now, just get some rest, alright..?" Edgar added.
Aurora nodded before she fell asleep again, finally back where she belonged.
