"How's it going?" she asked as I heard the chair scrape against the floorboards as she sat at the end of the bed

"It's not" I replied with a sigh

"What do you mean it's not?"

"Exactly what I just said" I shrugged at her

"Okay, so let's see if I'm getting this right you manage to kidnap me, have me assaulted, have a brother who's into drugs even have kids! But you can't continue this?" she said counting off each thing on her fingers

"I get it!" I replied as I stared at the still blank computer screen

"So…" she answered after a few minutes of silence

"Don't you have something better to do Kate?"

"Well not until you write a new chapter" she shrugged

"You mean I'm stuck with you until then?" I smirked sarcastically as I moved my hands to hover above the keyboard

"You're funny!" she poked her tongue out at me

"Why are you in your DPNU's?" I asked looking at her uniform

"Well you had me going out on Patrol, I couldn't exactly wear my sun dress" she smirked

"This is your fault" I shifted against my headboard as the curls from my freshly dried and washed hair fell from behind me ear

"What… It's not mine, don't they call it writers block or something" Kate shrugged

"Care to give me some help?" I asked hopeful

"I'm not even here, I'm a fictional character that somehow ended up in this…" she looked around the room

"Why is there so many Peacock things in this room?"

"Ah…" I began saying as I looked at the death notice on the back of my door

"I read your BIO you know" she smiled softly

"Really?" I crossed my arms slightly as I moved the laptop off my lap and placed it next to me

"Yeah, I mean you're 21 live in Adelaide and for some reason have a weird obsession with my character"

"It's not an obsession! And besides I'm actually 22 now"

"Well technically not until tomorrow" she folded her arms across her chest

"Yes thank you for that" I rolled my eyes at her as I reached for the laptop again I felt the bed shift in front of me

"So really, why all the peacocks?" she asked again as I sighed

"It's what my Nana wanted to come back as in the afterlife" I shrugged

"And you on your Nan, you were close?" Kate replied sadly

"She was my best friend, practically raised me when my Dad couldn't be bothered" I smiled sadly as she placed a hand on my leg

"I'm sorry Sar Bear"

"How did you…" I began saying surprised

"I'm a figment of your imagination I know everything about you, including your absolute love for my character and that Lisa McCune lady" she grinned with a wink

"Okay that's enough, are you going to help me or not?" I asked changing the subject as she shifted to sit on the bed next to me so she had access to the screen.

"So what bit are you stuck on?" Kate finally asked as she rested against my arm

"Well so far I've got the part you already know about"

"Yes, you know having me make out with Mike and you know…"

"Having sex?" I grinned as she cringed

"It's not really fair you didn't let us finish" she pinched my arm slightly

"Ow! What was that for?" I said rubbing my arm

"Next time you decide to let that happen remember back to this moment" she laughed

"I needed drama!"

"And you think interrupting us is the best way to get it?" she shook her head

"Well yeah it was either that or have you collapse" I laughed

"Collapsing would have been better"

"Still wouldn't have let you finish"

"Come on Sarah! You are so not fair" she elbowed my arm slightly

"I need to know what to do next, whether I have you go good on Patrol or I have something happen"

"Like what?" she asked looking at the blank screen

"Well I was thinking of giving you Cancer" I cringed as I watched her jump back in surprise

"Having me risk my life for someone wasn't enough drama for you?"

"Well…"

"You could always start another story" she replied snatching the laptop off me as she scrolled through me home page and photos

"And the last time that happened I never finished it!" I sighed

"Yes I remember" she smirked at me

"My stories aren't that bad are they?" I asked nervously

"Well I mean the one where Mike and I have a 21-year-old was a bit odd"

"What was wrong with Who Am I?" I asked nervously

"We had a kid and gave her away, you left it on a cliff-hanger said you'd finish it with a sequel" she sighed passing me my laptop back

"I did try a sequel, but it didn't work out" I shrugged as she moved off the bed

"And what's with me always ending up with Mike?" she asked moving around the bed as she looked at the photo's along my wall

"Well I mean… You and Mike just fitted so well with the drama"

"You mean the fact that he left me all those years ago?"

"Yeah, it makes the anger and angst so much more real" I replied as she stopped to look at one photo in particular

"Bedside's I've had you with Jim before, and Buffer even Dutchy and honestly I don't see the appeal there"

"Yeah but you had Jim divorce me" she laughed

"Point taken" I grinned as she ran her finger along the photo

"Is this your Nan?" she asked changing the subject

"Yeah" I nodded as I looked at the funeral notice

"She looks like you" Kate smiled at me

"Thanks…" I replied softly.

"You're avoiding this, you're the character I need YOUR help" I said after a few minutes of silence

"Look Sarah I can't help you if you don't know yourself" she shrugged moving to sit back in the chair at the end of the bed

"Why is this so hard!" I sighed annoyed

"Maybe it's more because you're thinking about tomorrow and getting a figment of your imagination to distract you isn't going to make it write itself"

"I don't understand…" I replied confused

"Your birthday, it's going to be your second one without your Dad and the first year you won't receive a birthday card from him" Kate answered sadly

"How…" I asked as she tapped a finger against her head

"You're my inner imagination" I replied

"Exactly" she nodded slowly

"This isn't about that" I shook my head

"Sure, hey why don't you get that Maggie character in here I'm sure she'll say exactly the same thing" she grinned as I avoided her eyes I looked back down at my laptop

"So are you helping me or not?" I finally asked as I looked back up the chair was now empty

"Kate?" I said softly placing my laptop down as I moved off the bed and towards the door

"Kate?" I called out again as I now stood in the hallway looking towards the lounge

"Thanks for the help" I sighed making my way back into my room.

"You called?" a voice answered from the previously empty chair

"Maggie? What are you doing here" I asked moving to sit back on the bed

"I heard my name, and here I am" she smiled at me.

"Right…" I said a little unsure as she sat across from me in her Police uniform

"Hey great job on the new Blue Heelers story by the way!" she answered as I placed the laptop back on my lap

"Um thanks I think…"

"I'm finally glad to see PJ and myself have kids" she winked at me

"It was kind of a 'What if' story" I shrugged

"Well I loved it, although... I would have definitely said 'Yes' if PJ had of asked me to marry him after a week" she grinned a little

"Drama Mags! Every story needs it" I laughed as she shook her head with her signature smile

"Yes and that Kate has a point I mean the not letting a character finish doing the deed it's unfair" she laughed throwing a pillow at me

"Dra…"

"Drama!" she answered back quickly as she shifted to sit next to me where Kate was previously sitting.

"Ohh maybe you could have her get a concussion or even a brain tumour!" Maggie piped up looking at the blank screen

"Hey!" a voice yelled from the chair

"She needs ideas Kate, you didn't exactly help her much" Maggie shrugged

"And so killing me off is the only way?" she sighed annoyed

"I had already planned to kill you off" I interrupted

"Ha!" Maggie yelled pointing the finger at Kate

"Does she really need to be here; I mean this isn't even a Blue Heelers story" she spat back

"It's not much of a Sea Patrol one either by the looks of it" Maggie grinned

"You know I really hate it when you do crossovers" Kate poked her tongue out at Maggie

"This isn't a crossover" I shrugged

"Sure feels like it"

"Okay Sarah's right, we should be helping her" Maggie replied

"Tell me, why do you never write anything else?" Kate asked moving to sit at the end of the bed

"Well I…"

"Yeah I mean you've only written one 'Reef Doctors' was it?"

"Hey that Sam character she was great!" Kate smiled

"Oh yeah super lovely, and she had a kid! Something we didn't have" Maggie laughed

"Hello ladies!" another voice replied as the bedroom door swung open

"SAM!!" Maggie and Kate yelled at the same time

"Oh god…" I whispered to myself as Sam moved to sit next to Kate.

"So what seems to be the problem?" she asked taking off her hat as she placed it next to her

"Sarah is trying to write a 'Sea Patrol' story and is stuck for idea's" Maggie smiled

"Oh… Well I don't know how I can help I mean she's only ever written me once and even then it was a bit…"

"What?" I asked nervously

"Well it was quite rushed at the end, I mean a baby with someone I only just got with after a day of almost drowning at Sea?"

"Oh wow…" Maggie hissed

"I slept with Mike a week after knowing him" Kate shrugged

"It took PJ and I a whole 4 years!" Maggie laughed

"We all have such terrible taste in men" Sam rolled her eyes

"It's just fiction" I piped up

"Hey I almost drowned!" Kate nudged Sam's arm

"Hey me too! But in wine" Maggie grinned

"In wine?" Sam and Kate asked confused

"Oh yeah! It was definitely an interesting experience"

"To be fair I didn't write that!" I assured them about what Maggie had just said

"But you did write ours" Sam motioned between her and Kate

"Every story needs drama otherwise it just doesn't make for a good story" I shrugged

"Sure but killing, it's a bit extreme isn't it" Sam replied

"Then what do you suggest I do?"

"I don't know; I mean I'm due back in somebody else's story so" Sam shrugged as she moved to stand grabbing her hat off the bed

"Sam!" I yelled as she moved towards the door

"Catch you later guys!" she smiled before leaving as she disappeared.

"Well… her help was waisted"

"Actually I've got to go to" Maggie sighed

"What?"

"I've got a shift; someone is trying to have me crack the drug ring in their story"

"Mags…" I whispered as she moved off the bed

"Sorry Sarah, but hey next time you got a Blue Heelers idea maybe do one of me not getting involved in the drug ring for Robbie I mean it's quite tiring?" she winked at me

"Sure…" I answered as she left the same way Sam did seconds earlier

"Looks like it's just us again" I smiled at Kate who had moved off the bed

"Actually…"

"Kate don't you dare!" I replied as she backed towards the door

"Sorry Sar Bear, but this SeaHeeler chick just wrote a new chapter and I'm needed over there" she shrugged

"Seriously?" I sighed

"Hey, you'll get there but next time let me finish my bonk before you add drama yeah?" she grinned

"Sure" I nodded

"You're the best! See ya Sar Bear" she smiled before exiting the same way as Sam and Maggie.

My brain hurts

I haven't written a new word and the curser still stairs back at me, what is this life I'm immersed in?
