Shikamaru opened the next door to the room which was lit in red lights. They were met with a surgery table with a sign above it, "Use what you need to find the next clue.", is what it read and the table presented a couple of surgical tools.

"Great.", She whined as she noticed the fake cut open body, "I'm not digging in that to find the clue."

Shikamaru chuckled, "I'll rock paper scissors you to see who has to do it."

Temari smirked and let out a laugh, propping her hands on her hips, "Here I thought you'd be a gentleman and take one for the team."

"I thought you weren't like most girls?", he joked as he prepared his fist for the game.

Temari laughed and did the same, "You're right, I'm not."

"On scissors."

Temari nodded determined.

"Rock

Paper

Scissors!", they yelled in unison.

"Shit."

"Yes!", Temari screeched in glee as she picked a scalpel off the table and presented it to the man in front of her, "Have fun, lazy ass."

Shikamaru groaned and took the scalpel. He approached the rubber body that had its middle hollowed out with fake organs and soup of fake blood surrounding them. Temari hovered over his shoulder, "Where do I even start? I'm not just going to shred this entire fake body apart."

Temari backed up and tapped her chin, she looked around the room for clues, "Hold on. I'm going to try something.", she turned the light switch off and the room turned green, "That worked! There's a message on the body's chest."

Temari hurried back to Shikamaru to see for herself, "It says, 'follow your...' and has an arrow point down towards the opening."

Temari looked at him and they both said,

"gut"

"heart"

They blinked at each other with their two different answers and were stumped. Those were both very logical resolutions, "Okay... now we need a different clue.", Shikamaru offered.

Temari walked around the room once more in thought and found a flashlight on the table. She walked with brows furrowed back to Shikamaru and shined the flashlight on the heart, "It looks like there's something in the heart, cut there.", she pointed.

Shikamaru got the scalpel and sliced down the heart, revealing a laminated message covered in the fake blood, "Right."

Temari jumped excited, "We did good this time, right?!"

Shikamaru frowned, and looked at her, "Shine the light on the stomach...", he said, gesturing with his head in the direction.

Temari looked at him curiously, but did as he asked, "There's something there too...", she responded defeated.

Shikamaru cut open the fake stomach. He reached inside, covering half his arm in blood and pulled the message out, "Left."

Temari leaned her back against the wall, "If we follow our hearts we go right, but if we follow our guts we go left."

Shikamaru nodded, "If we were in a scary movie, which we practically are, I would follow my gut because it's the first instinct. Following your heart takes more thought."

"I agree, left then?"

Shikamaru looked at his bloody hands, "Left... but, uh, what am I supposed to do now?"

Temari sheepishly smiled at him at a loss, "uh, rub it on your jeans?", she offered.

Shikamaru shrugged and did so easily without a second thought.

"That actually looks pretty cool. You look like a killer greaser.", Temari joked.

Shikamaru looked at her mischievously and dipped his hand back in the fake blood.

"What are you doing, Nara!? You just dried your hands off, idiot!", Temari's eyes went wide in realization as the taller figure stepped playfully towards her and she slowly backed away until she was pinned against a wall.

He leaned in close to her and her breath hitched as he smirked devilishly down at her when she had nowhere left to run, "You are my partner, remember? We have to match.", He chimed as he slowly ran his fingers across her throat with a trail of blood following his path then flicked his at her, splatting blood all over her face.

Temari gasped as her eyes closed from shock on impact, "Nara! You good for nothing- We are not about to play In fake blood right now!"

Shikamaru raised a mischievous eyebrow and shrugged as he put space between them to walk away.

"Fine then.", Temari smirked and dipped her hand in the blood then drug her hand across his face. Shikamaru winced as her delicate fingers ran coldly down his neck and wiped down his arms so she could get the remaining blood off of her own hands.

"What a drag.", Shikamaru laughed and whipped his face.

Temari laughed, "Ino is going to be pissed we did our own thing."

"Shall we?", he proposed as he held out an arm.

Temari grew nervous again as she idly took his offered-out arm, "Are we positive it's left?"

"No, but it's the only thing we have to go off of."

Temari sighed and joined him into the left hallway. They both stepped in a puddle of something.

Temari looked up wincing, "I reallllly hope it's just water and not fake blood again."

Shikamaru laughed and put his hand on the middle of her back, pushing her towards the door, "Why don't you find out for us"

She scowled and followed the light. Thankfully it was just water like she hoped, but there were eyeballs floating around on the floor, "I am not touching eyeballs.", she demanded as she stepped down into the lowered room into the ankle high water.

Shikamaru laughed and picked one up to squeeze and play with its squishiness, "They're fake, you're fine."

Temari winced as she watched him touch the realistic looking eye, "That's so gross. I don't care if it's fake, but I would sure hope it was."

Shikamaru tossed it towards her and she caught it out of reaction then dropped it immediately with a screech, "I hate you!", she cringed as she frantically wiped away the feeling on her leather pants.

Soon enough a hole in the wall slid open and a fake eye was pushed through the hole and dropped into the water they were stepping in. Temari leaned towards Shikamaru and gripped his arm tightly while Shikamaru held her close, "Uh, what was that."

Soon enough it would periodically happen, with different holes in the wall opening and pushing an eye through then the hole would close. With each drop of an eyeball, the color of the room would change.

"That's so creepy.", Temari whispered.

Shikamaru looked weirded out as well, "I agree, but it's only happening on the right side."

"The room is changing different colors though. Maybe it's like the last room where we need a certain color to see the message."

Shikamaru slowly nodded, "It started on blue, so we will wait for that and check for all the walls again with each color."

She held his hand as she pressed her back to his, "I'll watch this side of the room, you watch that side?"

"That's a good idea."

"Oh, mine has a message in yellow! It says up?", Temari confessed, confused, but felt her hand get squeezed tightly by Shikamaru's when the light turned green.

"What? What is it?", Temari asked, not daring to look back his way in case something scary was popping out.

Shikamaru cleared his throat, "uh, ahem. Mine says split."

Temari stayed silent.

Shikamaru blinked his nerves away and turned around to her quickly, taking both her hands hand tightly in his. He looked at the door before saying anything to her, one had a pink paint stripe over it and one had a blue stripe. He sighed and dropped his head in defeat.

"I'm guessing by the door, we go by gender color.", he said, breaking the silence.

"No... No!", her voice creaked with a mutter, "I'm not doing that.", she screeched, turning her gaze towards her water covered feet.

She shook her head frantically, "Shikamaru, I physically cannot do that."

He brought his hand up to her cheek so she would look at him, but he couldn't stop a giddy smile from crossing his lips. When she forced their eyes to meet, she looked at him curiously, "What? This is not a time to be making fun of me! I'm legitimately scared. I can't make it on my own."

His smile grew, "i- uh actually... I wasn't making fun of you... it's just-", he scratched the back of his neck sheepishly, "That was the first time I've heard you say my actual name."

Temari looked at him surprised and blushed. She dropped his hands and rubbed her pants nervously to prevent her palms from sweating, "It's just your name.", she shrugged looking away from him.

Shikamaru blushed and looked at the doors, taking in a deep inhale to calm his nerves he wasn't sure if were from the event or the fact his name sounded like it was spoken from a goddess when it left her lips, "Maybe they're splitting us up because we're almost out of here. It's our last chance to get something wrong."

Temari looked at him nervously, "I hate this."

Shikamaru let out a shaky laugh, "Me too, but like you said before we left your dorm, you said you weren't excited to see me. Now's your chance to get away from me.", he winked playfully.

Temari saddened and looked at the door once more, "I don't want to... And I'm not saying that just because I'm scared.", she confessed, wrapping her arms around herself.

Shikamaru looked at her surprised with a burning red tint taking over his ears and face. She sighed not noticing his reaction as she was caught in her own thoughts. She unraveled herself and lightly hit his shoulder with her fist, "I'll see you on the other side, Nara."
